Of course I'm your host Tim Gatties, I'm joined today by blessing Adi O. Yeh Jr. Good day Tim. And Andy Cortez. Great morning Tim. Great morning. Did you see Vin Diesel's Instagram post today? No, what's he up to now? Scared. You know, just think about what day it is. Why would he be following me? Of course. Everyone, you need to check it out. It's very long. Did he learn about it today?

No, no, no. Okay. No. I just think about it. I found out that. I just found out today. If you're watching live, be part of the show by Super Chatty on YouTube.com slash kind of funny games. I'm so glad Greg's not here today. You know, so much could go wrong. I remember we couldn't do this out our producers on patreon.com slash kind of funny. So thank you to Omega Buster, Delaney, the sound twining and Michael, Pays, and Vento. Like I was saying about the Super Chat today's topic is going to be all about Nintendo hot takes. So specifically for the Nintendo Direct we saw earlier this week, it's both of the Nintendo Direct we saw earlier this week. So get them super chats. It's kind of fucking. It's got to be fucking around. It's kind of fucking around. Because I know he's not here. It is we fucking. You said it. You said it. You said it with too much confidence. Oh man. Did you want that? Did you bring wine without Blizzcon? Oh man. Did you want that? Did you bring wine without Blizzcon? Oh, it's coming in.

It's like about 9-11. Yeah. I want an intention. Oh, jeez. This. We already got a Super Chat for Mr. Sandwich to 20,000 who says honestly I'm really satisfied with the switch and Nintendo's lineup after this week. There are tons of great games being released and incredibly consistent rate. 2027 already looks packed with Metroid Kirby and you know, that's what I'm saying. And I'm the one who like last December during our Nintendo Switch 2 review so far. I was kind of disillusioned with Nintendo a little bit. I was kind of like, I don't know man. Last year didn't do it as strongly for me. And now I'm sitting here like, hey man. I have time. Nintendo's doing it for you now. I cannot stop looking at these goddamn Ocarina screens. Man. Like, I don't know if there's a fucking more adorable little thing that links you. Love him. So fucking adorable. This little baby is so cute, dude. And I just love all the memes of like the little side view of like where he's looking, he's giving like the side eye and then they showed like the cat comparison and it's just all the people on Twitter doing like, you know, mom, I want Chucky Milk.

He's so fucking cute. I cannot wait to play this game. The visual style has grown on me for Ocarina remake a bit except for Link. Anytime I see young Link, there's something about his face when I realized what it is. This footage has come out the same time as that Elizabeth Holmes clip with Nathan Feeley, a popular. Yeah. And there's something about Elizabeth Holmes and young Link in the Ocarina remake. Gotcha. Where I see a little bit of her in. A little similarity. A little similarity. Gotcha. Okay. Maybe it's the size of her eyes in the intense look. I'll tell you this. I saw that trailer when I was half asleep and I didn't know what I was watching. No one did. And I thought it was an actor. Wearing prosthetics or like a mask. And I had no idea what was going on. Again, like this is half asleep. And again, people that were fully awake still didn't really have a whole lot of ideas. But I was watching this just in a, you know, I was in a fugue state. And I was like, what is this like some actor we know that's like going to be playing this

person. I just so thrown off by the visuals of it all. I mean, it's all pretty because there's just a little like subtle bounce going on. And you're like, is this like those TikToks that people watch? Like this is crazy. Oh, right. Those newer ones. And then it's like, oh, no, she's just bouncing her baby in the back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What a reveal. Like, he's so cute. Look at that little guy. I don't know, man. There's evil in his eyes. I hate evil with Elizabeth Homes eyes is in link size. The one thing I have been loving about having Zelda in my, you know, got off old Twitter algorithm is the, the stills that a lot of people have been taking from the trailer. And also finding out that the green suit tunic link is all the little grass or what are we already knew that right? It's like all the little grass stuff. He clearly like this suit was made in Kokiri forest. But then the Goron red suit is like cloth with a lot of metal accents and stuff like that because of the Gorons. And then the Sora or the Zora blue tunic or whatever has like a lot of little scale

effects. Oh, it's so cool. And I'm like, so I'm glad that it's just not red straw or whatever. And then blue straw effects. Really cool. I'm still not one over. The more I look at it, the more I'm just like, I really don't like the texture. I just, I just, I don't. I think if they're, they're just too big and too pronounced. I think if you little game dev secret right here, all right, little game dev secret, those textures you see there, it's not those aren't like normally hand carved. It's, you know, whenever anybody zooms in on Spider-Man and any of the recent games and they're like, man, this fabric work is incredible. It's a tileable texture that you just say tile more or tile less. And it gets, it's legitimately like a 256 by 256 texture of just straw. And so I want them to like just scale the straw down a bit and then, you know, lower that normal map a bit because it is too pronounced when he's around other normies.

But I still think he looks awesome. This is all I'm going to tell our audience not to do. Don't Photoshop links little hat in 20 years. I'm on the list of home. I got you. Don't do that. Don't just don't do it. You also notice his little suit on top of the adult link, the adult link one. It's an owl underneath his owl. It's an owl face. The eyebrows of the touch screen. I don't know that. Yeah, these are such. It's crazy. It's great. No, it's like, you know, like the, it's the owl like the eyebrows are there or not the eyebrows, but you know what I mean, like the feathers that go upwards and the eyes are right there and then you see it. I don't see it. I don't see what he's talking about. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Here. I'll find these are the eyebrows. Send this to us. So, yeah, yeah. Oh, okay. I kind of see it a little bit. Yeah, the colors of the eyebrows. No, no, no, you see those like those little strips. Yeah, I don't see it there. I don't see it. I thought we were saying the colors of the eye because I can kind of see like, I can

kind of see an owl. Shape like the big ass owl in the game, you know? Oh, okay. I 100% see it. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. It's fucking sick. It's really, really cool. I watched the Metro Draviness trailer no less than a hundred times. Oh, wow. So good. You guys. I just, I really like the logo for that game. It's so sick. I might buy it off a logo alone. You need to bless watch the trailer again with headphones because we were hyped and talking over it. The music is crazy. Yeah. It's as cool as the logo. I don't like, damn, I didn't think that'd be possible. But now is this the music's crazy. What's up? This is what you're talking about, right? Where the belt is going over his check. His like vest. Uh, above the belt. No, sorry, the, not the red belt, the brown belt. Yes. Yes. Yes. Underneath the brown belt. Yeah. Yeah, you can really see it's zoomed in there on the like the link, you know, the thumbnail. Like, if I click in, yeah, if I click in, it's out. Anyway, there's an owl there. Right there. That's my hot take because there's an owl there.

Which Twitter told me about is Metroid Raviness. This might be hard. Hot takes topic. This is Metroid Raviness going to be the Metroid, the 2D Metroid game that me and Andy go, you know what? Like, because what do you say about Metroid Dread? That's a good game. Good game. Good. Is it great? Is it amazing? I think it's a really good game, you know? I like this. It's just like the physical. I know. I think I'm, I think it's an awesome game. And I'd be slightly above Andy on it. But I think I'm closer to Andy than I am to him. I think it's like an awesome game. But I do downplay it to annoy Tim. But I like, I'm still not at the point where I think it's like as- This isn't blown away, but I really liked it. Me too. That's exactly what I meant. That's you you would be now. I bet you if you like even just play it for one hour and I bet you like, I'm blown away. I'll say what I did with like- You're fine now. You understand. Yeah, but like, did I play a pre- your post Metroid Prime? His prime is like, oh is it pre? Okay, there may be a, maybe I'm a bit more in a Metroid now than I was then.

I'll tell you what I don't love about the trailer is that as I'm playing Metroid Dread, the cutscenes are phenomenal. The god damn, the production levels on just the action of what Samus is doing. It's why I was so bummed out going into Metroid Prime 4 because those are different Samus' like- Yeah. She is way more sick in Metroid Dread. She does some cool stuff in Prime 4. There's story reasons for that. Sure, but like, I don't know, I just love like, she's fucking rotten. She's so raw in Metroid Dread. She does awesome shit. But while you're watching the cutscenes, you're like, yeah, the Switch 1 underpowered, obviously. It doesn't look as great as it can and just, it looks like there's not lighting turned on a lot of it. But you're like, whatever, it's the Switch 1. What I'm seeing is visually sick as hell. I still feel that way about a lot of the cutscenes that we were shown in that trailer where I'm like, we, it's like missing a pass of something. It still looks sick as hell, but I'm still missing like, lighting and depth and like,

I want like cast shadows and stuff like that. I mean, it still looks badass as hell, but you know, I want a little bit more. Give me a little bit more. It looks so much better than Dread. I like to watch the trailer. It's back to back and I'm like, holy shit. Yeah. It's like such a step up. I like the cutscenes. I like the choreography. Yeah. I like the voice acting. He's kind of a vampire. I'm just fucking scared. Yeah. Mercury scene, right? Yeah. Pop it off. I think this is going to be the one where me and Andy are both like, fantastic. Yeah. Well, that's what I hope everybody. Welcome and welcome to the topic of the show. That's hot. That's that's that's. Do your hot takes. Greg asked you to call in and give your hot takes for Nintendo's directs and we're going to react to them. Kevin, play the first one. Hey, kind of funny. Well, from Atlanta, Georgia, after watching the direct, I think it's a fishery time for me to upgrade from the switch one to switch to. Yeah, baby. And is it just me or is this a hot take to say when it's all said and done? Looks like Nintendo might win this generation.

I mean, Ocarina time remake. I've never played Ocarina time, but Tyler, for instance, my favorite. New Kirby. Oh, sorry. I was prepping the next one and I cut it off. Give me one second. New Kirby. I could read the rest of what he said because I have it down here. Yeah, go ahead. Hold on. Hold on. Let me see. Replay it if you're able to. New Kirby. Star Fox remake, Donkey Kong, Benanza, Mario Kart, whenever the next Smash Brothers comes out. It's already been like what a year and a half for switch two. They might have the better games this generation. Kind of crazy to say, but yeah, I guess. Hell yeah. Yeah. Will they do? Are they the best this situation? Will they win out? I don't think that's too crazy to say. I mean, I think that like what are we talking about winning? Because I feel like any metric we're actually talking about. They already won. Like, we're just talking about like exclusives coming out generation to generation, PS5

exclusives versus it's like, all right, what are we talking about? Yeah. Yeah, I just feel like they're playing a different game. Yeah, they're playing a game like fucking PlayStation Xbox. They're still, they're still in their PVP era. You know, hey, we're going to take fizz from you. Nintendo, they're playing a fucking slay the spy right now. They're just trying to see how they're trying to every generation is like, all right, how far can we go? We're running it back. We're putting out all the same franchises. We're going to see if we can make them better this time again. Like, that's the game that they're playing. And I'm, I think the thing that Nintendo has mastered is figuring out a slate of games throughout a generation that works and can carry them through to the next generation that they can refresh at twists here and there. Find new ideas here and there. But we know what's coming for the rest of the generation. And like the Nintendo fan, the people that are bought into the platform are excited for those things. They're excited for smash Mario Kart. What pickman is you know, blade, whatever other franchises you can name. So I think Nintendo is at the point where I expect them to win more generations than

not because they have the template laid out for them in three to four years. And the next three to four years, we will have not only like the awesome selection we have now, but there will be a new Mario. There will be a new mainline Zelda that is only switched to exclusive. And I'm so excited to see how much horsepower they can really get out of this machine after the wonders that they did that they were able to pull off with tears and breath of the wild. Like, it's already such a solid solid lineup. And they're still bangers incoming. Whatever the next smash is. Whatever, you know, I mean, let's not even talk about game of the year split tune Raiders, you know what I mean? Like, yeah, I got split to rate is a more interesting conversation would be less so compared in Nintendo to other platforms and more so. Can the switch to generation be the switch one generation? That's the conversation I'm having because I'm like, I think we can get there, but then it's a matter of what new IP can you give me that buys me in and granted, I think that's

maybe one of the places where switch one could have done better. Like, we had some swings, you know, we can talk about arms, was arms great, was arms whatever, right? But like arm is was no split tune. Can you give me a new split tune like IP this generation, you know, something that comes out of left field that we're like, oh, shit, we all have this by in here. Yeah, that is a big question. I don't, I wouldn't bet on the switch to generation being better than the switch one, but I also wouldn't bet against it. I feel like there is a chance and I feel like we're not there yet, obviously. But I do think with like Pokemon wins and waves, if that comes out and is an absolute banger, it's like that makes up for the sins of the past, right? You just, are we love Scarlet and Violet? I just forgot about like, oh my god, I'm so excited. Pokemon wins and waves. Holy hell. Yeah. We have a, another voicemail that might not agree. Oh. Hey, what's up? It's Gage. Okay, Luke shot first in the chat and I am from Portland. Well, I'm not from Portland, Oregon, but I live in Portland, Oregon. Shout out to the Portland Kevin. We're in the front. We're in the front.

We're in the front. We're in the front. Kind of funny best friend up here in the Portland area. And congrats for the fourth time champ you're moving. My heart rate is that Nintendo has still not shown me anything. This generation to make me buy a switch to. I just haven't seen it. Occurring the time was awesome, but I played that game. It's not even my favorite of the Zelda. It looks, you know, upgraded and cool, but it doesn't necessarily give me anything to want to buy a now five or almost, what is it? Five, fifty, a console. It's just not worth it for me. And the Samus and Metroid continue to not look like next-hand games. They look old school to me. The 2D ones, the graphics just don't look that great to me. And I'm just finding that I'm drifting further and further away from Nintendo. So that's my not take. Anyways, thanks. This may be tough for me. So good. Bye guys. Did. Okay, I guess my bigger question would be how much of the switch one was experienced by this person. It does sound like maybe they already had the switch one. It's just like I'm looking for a reason to upgrade to the part two version or whatever.

But yeah, I think a lot of that comes down to when we come out of a direct or out of any of these reactions and we go, there's a lot of stuff there for other people. I just was not particularly stoked about the lineup of games that were shown today. And maybe it just comes down to taste and the lineup of games that are out right now aren't really enticing to this person. Yeah, I'm not mad at this at all because this is such a personal take as far as what brings you to Nintendo. And I think all positive is that I think Nintendo fans, every Nintendo fan has a different killer app. And so for some, but for plenty of people, I'd say, Pocopia was the killer app so far this gen for other people. And my Bindi, Kapananza for an upcoming group of people. It might be Pokemon wins and waves. I think for a lot of people though, it's a brand new Zelda, like a new new Zelda, not Ocarina or a new 3D Mario. And what about you life is also really big amongst like switch one. I guess that did come out.

Oh, you're right. Yeah, you're right. Animal Crossing is another one that's like that's going to be a killer app for so many people. So if you're an animal crossing fan, I understand why you might not have the desire to get the switch to yet. You're probably going to get that right. You might do a little bit of waiting, but I do, I do. One, I think so far we're in a pretty good place with the switch to games, but also, I do wonder why Nintendo didn't wait until switched you to put out a tears of the kingdom, because I feel like that would have been such a killer app for so many people as well. It doesn't need it necessarily, but it's like, we're so close. Why not? They put out a switch to edition, right? Made money. They've made more money this way. And I don't feel like they really lost much. I think that they're selling as many switch twos as they can right now, right? I feel like even having killer apps out, I don't know that they need that yet this early in the generation, because they're still riding high. Like I feel like wait till you are kind of like pedoring out a little bit and there's no Peter in sight. When we look at the line up at this point, but I think you're right, obviously, about the big game to get people to actually want to upgrade the systems, but I also think

Nintendo is in a more unique position compared to PlayStation or Xbox where, yes, a lot of people have their one killer app. But then there's a lot of people that are just like, I want just the new platform because I like Nintendo games. You know, it's like I like the breadth of their library and I expect that they're going to surprise and delight me over and over and whether it is sequels, reboots, remakes or new IP, there's just like a buy in that they have. So upgrading to the switch for me, like so far, my favorite thing about the switch to has been it's 4K and it's technically good, which I could not say about the last couple of Nintendo consoles, right? So just being able to play all my Nintendo games in a way that I find more acceptable. It's not to me. It's my killer app, you know, but Portland Kevin here, that's, no, it's not. No, that's my front Portland, my bad gate. They shot it out, Portland, Kevin gotcha in the call. There we go. It's like, yeah, just sounds like you're not an Nintendo guy, which is like, all right, that's fair. Then yeah, I wouldn't recommend you buy a switch too because while I do think it

the switch to use the best third party machine that Nintendo's ever had, it's not the best place to play third party games. So if you if you were into Capcom games, get a PlayStation, you know, yeah, I guess a lot of it comes down to, you know, they, they mentioned they weren't super into a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, but it's not going to be this like system seller for them. But if they love tears of the kingdom and breath of a while, then maybe just wait to see what that next thing is. That's my, it's happened because I, I don't think you'd call in with this take unless you are somewhat of an Nintendo fan because if you're not an Nintendo fan, it's like, well, of course you're not going to buy Nintendo, right? But I, I, my, the thing I imagine is that they're looking for a grand adventure, right? Like what is going to be the Zelda tears, the kingdom type experience? And I guess going back to my thing of why wouldn't Nintendo, why wouldn't Nintendo just wait for tears of the kingdom? I think you're right. As far as like, yo, you sold so many copies on the switch one that has 100 million units, that makes sense. And then also internally, I'm sure they know, Ocarina is coming. And so that's going to be the exclusive Zelda early on in the switch life cycle.

That takes that place. If that doesn't do it for you, like I think that will do it for so many other, I would even say that'll do it for most others, all the fans. But you'll get a brand new Zelda one day and then you can buy your switch then. And I think Nintendo, they're getting the same money. If not more money, the costs are going to go up. Yeah, totally. But then there's one more on the topic of this. Hey team, my name is Yihop. I am from Utah. And my heart is if you are a fan of video games in general, you need only one console, which is an endless. And the direct proof that if you are a fan of adventure games, the Nintendo switch has if you're a fan of Metro Vanias with the third party in the single players, who's this is the intro switch hasn't and it's 500 bucks, which is the cheapest that available and it's on the go. Every third party game is coming to it. Hey, don't you have a console?

Get over it. I love how unnecessary that life is. Get over it. Get over it. Dude, I don't feel as strongly as you do about this, but I think that Nintendo switch to is I think for a lot of people, the right suggestion to get if you're only going to get one console because it does have at this point, the best exclusives and access to the majority of third party games at a playable condition. Yeah, I think majority being the key word there. I think Nintendo switch to is probably at this point, the most recommendable one console to own for a casual gamer. Like there are plenty of people I meet who I wouldn't consider like, oh, you're what wouldn't consider in the camp of us or people in the audience, right? Who pay attention to the video games that much and so many of them only own a switch, right? And like they're excited because yeah, they get to play Animal Crossing or then, or they get to play Hogwarts Legacy or whatever that big mainstream game is.

Those tend to come to switch, especially nowadays. As that caller was talking, I pulled up my game of the year list so far to see, like, all right, how many of these have come to switch so far? And like, and his number two is going to, is going to blow your mind. I can't read it. I was just like bullshit. Oh, okay. I was going to say I was like, maybe that is my number two. We got what surprised people number three though. Come on. You already know. Come on. Come on. And number three I have right now is a switch game. So, but like for third party stuff, Resident Evil Requiem, Hey, that's that's out on Switch 2, baby. Star Wars Zero company, which, you know, so far, it's so far. It's on my list. I think game's so good. It's so good, not on Switch 2, but it's one that I believe firstly should be on Switch 2, but also will eventually come to Switch 2. I think good game is mixtape on Switch. Oh, mixtape is on Switch. Okay. And then double seven first light.

That's my game of the year so far. That's not it's coming to Switch 2. Yeah. Hey, the call might be right. Damn. No, get over it. Hey, get over it. Call it might be right. I get over it. All right. Now we're going to move on to take some of the direct as a whole. Jake takes care from Kansas City. My hot tape is that Nintendo direct will never be truly quote great. Again, I had a fun time with yesterday's direct as I do most. They're commercial super. But we will never reach the repeated teaks we got with the Switch 1. With longer development times increasing the distance between big first party Switch franchises and maybe more importantly, the Switch 1 benefiting from that perfect storm of the Wii U into the Switch life cycle. The novelty of just seeing some games on handheld and frankly Nintendo needing to fight for its life. We're just not going to get those levels of hype again. And frankly, that's okay. Much love to you all by me. I like it. I do like this hot take. I think that especially the point that these longer development cycles are making it so that we won't get like.

I don't think we'll ever get another direct where or we'll get a direct where it's like two major gigantic bombs drop in the same thing. Like when I'm talking about the big IP and maybe the unknowables, I think just because games are taking longer to make and those schedules are getting more and more set for each other. Are Nintendo games? Because I don't think that they are. I think we all make tears of the kingdom was like seven years or something about like the Zelda games in the past. It's not like they were coming out every year or two like there was always like pretty girthy gap between them. I think the tears is the like the Zelda mainline Zelda games are probably the biggest example of that. But even thinking about 3D Mario games, it's like I don't even think it's about development time as much as it's just about. Nintendo doesn't put that many of them out there. I mean, do we know how long bananas it was in development for? Yeah, we do. And I think it was like three years. What were they working on after Odyssey?

Well, there was Bowser's Fury and then also I imagine the next 3D Mario. I still like to call Tim. I mean, I completely disagree with this because I disagree with it in multiple ways. I think that Nintendo there will be great Nintendo X. There will be bad Nintendo X and that's that will always be the case. I also don't think that Nintendo X were ever great that you're talking about. I feel like that's the key. Like show me one direct that you're like, man, that's the pinnacle. That's the peak. They all have so much bullshit. And I guess there are a couple that have had big giant announcements. I think that they're stronger now than they've ever been because they have a focus of we're talking about the games that are going to be coming out in the next four months. And they actually stick to that shit. Like it might mean that it's a little less exciting because we're not getting these giant unicorn announcements that we're talking about for like 60 years. But it does mean that we're going to be playing Ocarina of Time in a month and then we're going to be playing Metroid 3 months from then and Kirby right after that. And those are going to happen. Yeah. I 100% agree with that. I think I think what Tim is talking about does lend itself to when you're talking about a great direct what that means to you because.

Yeah. Like I kind of miss the idea of Nintendo doing those unicorn announcements a little bit because I think that does lend itself to those great moments and directs when it's. The new legend is all that it's breath of the wild and like you see him stay standing from the TV and you see the grass flowing and all that shit. Like I don't think we're going to get things like that quite often anymore because of their more recent strategy of trying to get games that are coming soon. But I think it's a probably a smarter strategy to announce these games closer when the audience is going to get them. It's not annoying. I'll say. It's not even for me to be able to go. Oh, sick. OK, I'm going to play this in six months as opposed to never know about these things again. But also, yeah, I agree with Tim is I don't think we ever had a truly amazing era of Nintendo directs. They're always weird. They're always kind of awkward. This like when I think of a great direct moment, I think of the smash ultimate direct that everybody is here. But like that was a moment. That wasn't the entire thing.

And even then so many people hated that to act because 20 minutes of it was time on Smash Brothers and there wasn't much else of interest. Yeah. And one thing I'll also shout out here like I've talked about this on like my personal stream is going back and rewatched the previous direct the summer one. And like I'm aware in real time we all didn't love that direct rewatching it. I maybe this isn't posted. Zeno blade played through me. The summer direct pretty good. Like I forget what I gave it, but I think I if I was to re-score it, I would give it a higher score rewatching it. I think it's going to be had Kingdom Hearts for had a new Zeno blade. It had like was final faces that revelations part of that. Yes. Yeah. Like that last wreck was pretty good. But it's also to each their own as far as what's going to hit for them or not. I also think that it's because Kingdom Hearts 4, we know that that's not the best that it can look and it didn't look particularly visually great. So it's like, yeah, it's the first time we've seen it since the first time we saw it.

But as we're looking at it, we're like, what the this is crazy. And like as I'm watching, like this isn't anywhere close to where this game will look. Like this game will look much better in other places. And we kind of saw that and we know that that will happen. And what I'm watching right now, I'm not super impressed. So it's just like every, every announcement that could have been had there was the least satisfying version of it. And like going back to the Ocarina one, you can't be mad at, you know, the thing for leaking. Like it was never supposed to be known that that thing was going to happen there. But we did. And then when we just kind of get that short bit, it's like, we get angry, but it's like, well, that's all that was planned for it. They didn't have a gameplay video or whatever. So it's like, I blame Greg. You know, I mean, Greg was on a bad move. I blame Nate the hate. Let's get Greg off the direct. Let's keep Greg off the directs for now on. I was trying to defend them and Greg was disagree with me and then people would disagree with me. Come on. It was a good direct.

Next one. Yo, KF crew. John from Texas. Love this content. Keep up the great work. My hot fake is that people who say that these Nintendo directs are mid or they could have been an email or they're just not good or whatever need to grow up and realize that the marketing cycle for these consoles and games are now six months out or slightly more. Getting Chris has said if you're seeing anything more than that, that means that the switch to is failing. So people just need to adjust their expectations. Okay. Love you. Bye. Tim, what do you think about that last part? Because I never thought about that. The idea that if they're not announcing games the next six months in these directs, then that's a sign of failure of the platform. I don't know about failure of the platform, but I do think it would be like a failure in planning. Like I think that the, you know, the switch one, like someone earlier said this, like God, how lucky they were that they could fall back on the we use library and just kind of like port the living hell out of amazing classic games that so few people played.

In addition to cutting out the 3DS and so they were only focusing on one console as opposed to two for the first time. So they just had like such a leg up and getting that breath of wild Mario Odyssey. Like that'll never happen again on that scale, right? But I do think that when we look at it now, it's like even looking at this next year that we know we already know we're getting Metroid, we're getting Kirby, we're getting Pokemon wins and waves were getting a Zeno blade. It's like that's crazy. Yeah, we already know that. Like I don't know that we got years like that on the switch one that weren't the first year, right? There were solid years, but it's like that's we already know about that. There's so much we don't know about. And I feel like we will get the year filled out even more and just going to be even more impressive. So I think that they're in a great place now, but I remember when the switch one hit what was it? 20, 20, I think you're thinking about of the paper Mario year. Yeah, that was the horrible crossing, right? It was obviously huge, but it's like that was a very slow year for Nintendo. And that was a down year quote unquote, but it's like compared to all the other ones where you're just expecting releases.

I mean, there was a while that Nintendo was hitting of release a month. Yeah, Nintendo published release a month and they're still kind of keeping up with that. And I think the quality of the titles and the interest in the titles are higher than they've been. So if they can keep that up, we're good. If we get to a point that we get another weird drought in like two years, that's one on my, oh, there's a problem. Yeah, I don't 100% agree. I think that view from Kit and Chris is interesting. And I'm not thought about the idea of like no, we're able to talk about things right now in the next six months because we have things happening right now. The next six months that we can talk about. And so like that cadence being able to hit that regular month or every two months or whatever it is kind of cadence for first party stuff. When I look at the last year, I've been pretty satisfied with it, right? Like Splatoon Raiders in July. And I know we also got a rhythm heaven in in July as well. It's like, no, Splatoon Raiders is fantastic. I don't know. I'm coming up. A lot of people like rhythm, rhythm heaven fire emblems coming up.

November we're getting Zelda. I forget what's October. I think it's Nintendo Switch Sports. Mm hmm. Somebody's going to play that like I think feel pretty good right now. I think a lot of it comes down to just continue to learn how to show these things off in the best way possible. And I think anytime, anytime. Not watching. Cozumi play a game. And give you a rundown of what's happening like anytime we're not doing that. I think we're in a good spot. But as soon as we start to do that, that, that awesome moment happened where you're like, you read a super chat and it was like, what a great pace. And then they immediately did like a, and that one was definitely not as bad as past ones that we've had. But like it always comes that there's always just like one little element where man, you could have the best pace and you're showing off a bunch of cool variety of games. And then let's just drag this thing to a halt and show off a game for seven minutes and seven minutes. Not the worst thing in the world. When it's in a showcase of 28 minutes, it's like, oh, what are we doing right now, man?

You guys are doing so good. Give my hot take of the episode. I even though that is, it is objectively bad when they do that. I love it. And I hope it never changes because that we will never like that's the only way we get the meme of Cozumi Jack and off off. I'm also going to get it. You're right. No, Nintendo regularly has moments in their directs where it's like, oh, this is an immediate meme. And like my conspiracy theories are doing it kind of on purpose, but also I think they're just unintentionally funny. And like, I love it. It may not even be, I don't want to just solely put this on Cozumi doing a demo, but they'll do it often for other stuff or it's the infantilizing of like the way that they're just like describing games. It's the V.O. It's just the words they choose to use. It's a higher house style. Like, yeah. And you want coins? You can walk over to the chest and open the chest. Yeah. Thanks. Look at that. We got some coins. And in this game, it's like, man, we need a jump. That's why I made the joke of like, this is how Greg talk to his child.

Like, yeah. Like, you've never seen a video game before, you little dumb baby. Here's what you do. And it's, I totally agree with you. Plus, like, I love the shit. I love the memes. I love laughing at it. I'm in for the vibes. Yeah. I wish they worked there. I would trade it in a way. Sorry. I would make the product so much better. Make it better. But it's like, like, it's a certain extent. I prefer watching Nintendo Direct as opposed to a state of plays. Because state of plays at this point have gotten real buttoned up. And it's like, all right, cool. At a certain point, it's like, it's kind of boring. It's like, all right, cool. We're going to see a very well edited, well, very well-paced show full of trailers for games that I'm mostly not going to play. Nintendo Direct, it's like, all right, what bullshit. You have to show me the show off the game. It's going to be a 10 out of 10 masterpiece. It's going to be some bullshit, not all of it. You'll present it in the exact same way as a two out of 10 piece of shit. Yeah. Like, where are you going to put your magnificent game that you've been spending 10 years in a row? It's going to be my favorite game of all time.

Where are you going to sandwich it between? Because whatever it is, the first game is going to be all good trash. And the game after is going to be some weird Square Enix shit, where it's fucking HD, 2D, farming life simulator with the craziest name of all time. And that's what I ask for. That's what I want. Let's do one more before we hit the ads here, staying in line with the six month cycle conversation. Pentagoras. Pentagoras. Pentagoras. Like, some weird fucking days. Pentagoras. This is the Seattle Parker top 0.2% of kind of funny viewers on my YouTube about 2025. Anyway, my Nintendo hot take is that people need to calm their expectations around Mario. I've seen people talk about, you know, when Mario was in a year of DK, Venanda. People always talk about nine years from Odyssey, but they don't talk about one year since Venanda. It was the same team working on it. I believe that DK was our Mario game for now. People devalue just because it doesn't have Mario in the title. One day we'll see the Red Man pop up in a trailer and it'll be awesome, but I think we can still be a couple years away.

Thanks. Love you guys. That's awesome. That was the wrong one, but it's okay. We can talk about this first. I 100% agree. I don't think this is a hot take. Mario comes. And the thing is once Mario comes, he's not coming again. So it's like everybody that's like, where's duty Mario? Where's duty Mario? What are you going to say when it comes out? He's just saying, he said it was an Italian accent. I think that's the reason. Actually, the Spanish accent is my name. Where's the three, the Mario? Who's the person you're imitating right now? Are they from Italy? Anytime I see a comment, I go, whoa! I haven't seen that. Come on, come on. Step into a world of wonderful, of laughs and sweetness. Can I have hit the next one about Mario here and then we'll have a discussion about Mr. Mario 704. Wait, I'm sorry. 704. Okay, so you don't want to stick on the Mario conversation. Got it, got it, got it. Just right before it's fun. Hello Kind of Funny crew. My name is Jaylen. I'm calling in from Charlotte, North Carolina. And mine into no direct hot take is that I don't actually think it's bad that we did

get a 3D Mario. I know it's almost been 10 years, but the fact that other IPs have been able to shine within, we're not missing Mario. He's always going to be around. I think it's great that Kirby is getting another chance for shine. You know, Donkey Kong launching on the switch. I just think that it's not necessarily a bad thing that Mario was not there. We're going to get Mario. We're always going to have Mario. Thanks. I'm with two minds with this. And they kind of contradict each other. The first one being that I do agree. Like right now I'm not missing Mario. And I think the big reason is because DK Bonanza really scratched the Odyssey. It's like you played DK Bonanza and it feels like you're playing Mario Odyssey for elements of it. You can tell that they had a lot of like a lot of the team that worked on it. We worked on DK Bonanza. And so I'm not sitting here like, oh man, where's Mario?

It's been so long. I agree in that sense. The other mind that I'm of that kind of contradicts it a little bit is that I wish, and maybe this is the case. I don't know who knows, but like I wish we could have gotten maybe a 3D world style game because it's been so long since we had that. And I think that kind of fits the not getting the Bonanza Odyssey style of game, right? But getting still getting something that feels like a monumental Mario title. Either that or Mario Odyssey too. I wish maybe in the last sometime in the last seven years it could have gotten them. Maybe like three to four years after the original Mario Odyssey because I don't know. I feel like there's still more juice left in that. And that wouldn't make the way to feel as long until the next Mario. But yeah, I'm not hungry for the new 3D Mario. Yeah, I totally agree with you. And I think the bigger thing is when you are a broader Nintendo fan, it's like I like so much that we got Donkey Kong and I never thought we'd get a 3D Donkey Kong platformer

again. And I understand people not liking it as much as Odyssey for a variety of reasons, but specifically like how much or how little it is a true platformer compared to Odyssey. And that's fine. But it's like to your point, we're going to get a 3D Mario. I also like that we not too long ago got Mario wonder. And I think that we need to end your point about the 3D world Mario. I want that more than anything. But I think that has to be after the proper 3D Mario that we have in our heads because I think I'll just like upset people and I think that we need to give the 3D world style a little bit more room to breathe and let people appreciate it more. But also it wasn't that long ago we got that plus Bowser's Fury. So I think the switch ports of the Wii things are Wii U games. I think kind of like to put the trajectory and kind of a slightly messed up spot. But what we don't want is too much Mario because then we get new Super Mario brothers. And when we're getting a new Super Mario brothers game less special, it's less special. And everyone kind of starts to resent it and hate it. So it's like I would much rather.

We team walking by the new 3D Mario that best by just looking at it. Like all angry. But I would say you know what would happen. I don't happen fast. Like I'll tell you what I want. I mentioned this. I think when there were first rumors of returning to Witcher 3 DLC, I would love Mario 3D World DLC. Or just an expansion onto that. I think that would be so cool. Again, you're going back to a much older game from the Wii U era. But I think it would just be genius to go back to that and say we're dropping this $20 thing with this many brand new levels. That game is like so. It could be Mario Kart 8 if they just gave it the chance. I think it could have like this long lasting. All of your friends getting back together and going back to that silly Mario game where you have a lot of fun with friends. I would love to see something like that. Me too. Then we got let's go to 661, Kev.

No, I'm playing this one instead. Okay. Hey, what's up guys? Big fan. But this is Jonathan. I just wanted to say the guy who sits on the right side of the screen made a lot of great points about that super family restaurant with the museum. I mean, more like super fucking boring restaurant. Yeah. But Andy, it's for a museum. Yeah, it's not the museum of natural history or agriculture. It's a museum for fucking video games. Our video games supposed to be fun and stuff. It's called a super family restaurant for folks. They shouldn't just look like the games are next to close down and they have the store two of their statues in the Benihana. It was actually taking my call. Hang up a listen. I can't tell you how good the delivery on all this is. What area code was that one from? Kev. Damn, he was on a handset. It's crazy. He's on like a dial. Oh, wow. He sounds like an online. I can't pinpoint it for something about his voice.

Sounds almost like it's like, I don't know, edited. I don't know. Maybe like a toe. Was it in Granathan? I think that's what he said is. That's interesting. Interesting. I mean, what do we think of the take bless? Great take. I think, first of all, thank you for the compliments. I do. I completely agree with that. I just don't think museum restaurants need to be like that done up. It's not a theme park. It's a museum. You know, I mean, it's a different vibe. I think I do think this is all the statue might be a bit much. It does stick out like a store thumb, but it's temporary, right? I think, I think, first off, Grey Point's Granathan, calling on as a landline. But I would say, you know, either you go full out and make it look like a theme park or all of the wood finishing that we were seeing. Get some cool like in great, make it all like in grave or put like the most classy art on the wall. That's like still Mario themed. But just like do it up to where it just doesn't look like you just rented out that fucking building. Grey Point, Granathan. Grey Point.

Grey Point. Granathan. All right, Kev, take me to the 661. All right, I'm going to be a second one. Man. How does one get named Granathan? Black imagination. Which is the biggest. Oh yeah. Hey, this is Ricky from Tucson, Arizona. I was just calling, you know, everything. I thought the directs were pretty good. I'm very like really excited to resolve that. My thing is where the heck is Pokemon Coliseum? It was originally announced in the original lineup for the NSO app when that came out like before the Switch 2 came out. And they keep announcing and shadow dropping all these other releases. I'm trying to play Pokemon Coliseum and Pokemon Gale of Darkness, which they've already released Gale of Darkness onto the app without doing Pokemon Coliseum. What tech's going on with that? Thanks. Ricky, that's an excellent question. What's going on with that? WNDs.

I don't know why Nintendo always does this. They show you a bunch of box arts. I think they give you a lot of them. And they're like, but the one of the ones people are so high for. Who the hell knows when it's going to go see. We'll see. Yeah. The fact that it has been over a year, a year and a half. I feel crazy. Tim, I feel like somewhere in the back end of the infrastructure software, they set it to schedule, but to release, but they put the wrong date or the wrong year or whatever. So it's just like, I feel like you'll get it when you get it. We're talking about ROMs, man. Yeah. We're talking about fucking ROMs. It's crazy. Like I'm a big defender of the NSO, the classics, especially the longer it goes on, there's just more and more and there's like less key things missing. But when we look at the Gamecube's output, I'm just like, all right, you can speed this one up just a little bit because it's crazy. Y'all, I'm playing no fucking Pokemon Coliseum. Well, let's be real. Like I, they're not, they're rickies. Ricky cares more about the fact that Nintendo said they're going to do something and they're

not doing it. That's what we're really mad at. Yeah, but Coliseum's one of them ones though. Is it? Yeah, it is. Is it? Dude, you, you get two starters. Do you know who they are? That's beyond an embryon. Yeah, who my face. Okay. I don't have a Gamecube, so I don't. Oh, yeah. But I don't believe y'all carry it. I do think we'll get it at some point, but I don't know when we got star box adventures. That's pretty sweet. We got DK64, so I don't care about anything. No, no, you're like, no, my car. Cool. Hey, we got one. We're screwed. I got mine. Rusty, y'all. Good luck out there. God, let's go to 801. Hey, kind of funny. This is Cal or missing link in chat, calling in from Utah. My hot take is for what we saw, or rather what we heard from the Ocarina of Time Remake and the Zelda Direct. So I think we may have been or I was, I feel spoiled on the music for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series.

But I was hoping that the new music for the Ocarina of Time Remake would be robust, dramatic, full orchestra, Final Fantasy 7 Remake style. Whereas from what we've heard from the gameplay snippets in the Direct, the title screen music they put on the app and the bits and pieces of other gameplay that they had on the Japanese website. I don't know if you see that stuff, but they sound like pretty basic new arrangements, just sort of one to one with the Nintendo 64 music, but with just like real instruments. So I'm not as impressed with that. I'm a little disappointed about kind of how basic the new music is for the remake, but I'm curious about y'all's thoughts on it. Thanks. Yeah. I fully understand what you're saying. And I think I mostly agree, but I, like you said, understand that they are going for one to one. Like they're not adding instruments. Like they're just taking the MIDI compositions and turning them into orchestrated versions. But it's like, yeah, if we had Trombone 003, we are going to just try to get a Trombone to replace

that as opposed to like add a whole bunch of shit to it. Because I imagine like Gerudo Valley, right? Like there's the version that was on the Zelda 25th orchestra thing where there's this epic ass intro and build up and like crazy drums going on. And it's just like bombastic. It's like, yeah, we're not going to get that. It's going to be a one to one version of the one from the 64, which like, I'm with you in terms of listening and stuff. I don't think it's going to be that interesting. I do think in terms of like the experience of playing Ocarina and it feeling like it used to. I think it's kind of the right call. It's a similar thing that happened with Star Fox this year where for the most part, like they weren't adding flourishes and stuff. It was just a direct adaptation of it. But the Star Fox soundtrack was I think already very thrilling and had a lot like it fit perfectly. We found the S7 remake. They took those songs and we're just like, yeah, how can we add 10 key changes and like make everything just insanely hype at all moments. And it's just a different direction that's all does not going.

I haven't gone back to watch that trailer with headphones. But yesterday out of nowhere, Tim just slapped me, the Metroid ravenous trailer and said, was it watched us with headphones again? There's one thing when we're up here when we're watching and we're all kind of getting psyched for this awesome looking video game. God damn that soundtrack in the Metroid ravenous trailer. Fucking rips, dude. It is so sick and it just got me even more excited for that experience. So shout out to like that soundtrack really, really standing up to me. Yeah, but but good call, Kyle. I've been thinking about that myself. Let's move on to the one we missed, Kev. If that works for you, it is back. It is about the multiple months. I can tell you the number seven or six nine four six nine four six nine. That's just fine. It's a damn we find. I mean, we are probably. Oh, she's not as the entire wolf from Texas.

I guess for myself, less on the direct itself, but I'm always, I'm kind of curious if you guys had an answer to this. I'm always confused why Nintendo tend to stick to three to six months for the reveal timing, but then randomly a game like Fire Emblem or Zeno Blade get revealed a year out. But they're big titles like a offering at a time or supposedly the next reading Mario are probably going to get revealed like six three to six months before they get they eventually come out. And I'm curious if you guys why that is the reason because it always confuses me because I feel like those are the bigger sellers that get people to buy switch to. Thank you all. Great job on the content. I feel like you'd probably have the best answer for this Tim, but I think it just comes down to like part WNDs while also just trying to fill out a show and maybe showcase a game. Like I wonder if it is like region specific or they're like we need to really show this game

off even more because I feel like in the past we would see Splatoon 3 12 times at various directs. I just don't I wonder if it's just like an IP specific thing. We need to really really push that IP specifically so maybe show it off a bit sooner. That would be my guess. I think it's more just Nintendo aren't where they want to be in terms of being able to consistently. I think that if it was up to them, holy they would only be doing things every it's four months out and then we announce a game and it comes out we can like push it the way we want because we have a little bit more information because of our jobs, but just thinking about the preview cycle and review cycle for how Nintendo games work. It's pretty there's a pattern like you can look at it or we can kind of guess when a review embargo for a game is going to be based on when the preview event is or when the game releases and all that stuff. So it's like they think about this stuff

a lot and they have a plan and it's always weird when something doesn't fit in that plan. And I think it's a similar thing to this where it's like I don't know why they do that and I don't know why there are weird exceptions, but I'm sure if there if it was up to them and they can fully control it, I don't think it would be going this way and you might be like well it is up to them and it's like well it's not it's up to Nintendo of Japan Nintendo of America essentially has no control over anything like they can push and they can try but like whatever Nintendo of Japan says and it's just like that's just how it works. So if somebody over there is like yeah well I want this for whatever reason I'm a big fan of fire and well that's just what's going to happen. Yeah, you know but I do think we're going to start to get I think we've already seen more and more consistency and I think it's only going to get more consistent as it seems like they have their heads wrapped around a switch two lineup that can be consistent and maybe I'm wrong maybe we're going to hit a drought because we have every Nintendo generation we always hit a drought. There's always a moment where

things start looking bad but you look back to like the N64 and my god that drought was like four years it was horrible. What do you predict the next title to get the year treatment is like the year out plus treatment is smash. It's got to be smash yeah it should be yeah it should smash yeah I think smash by design because they want to have the hype cycle and announce the characters that's terrible to like okay. Yeah I mean you need to put Pikachu in that. Yeah I think he might make a tough. I mean that's there's the man I I cannot wait for them to announce a new smash because there's so many questions. I know because like you could play 16 players on one. It would be a bad way out. Yeah because like how much of how much of the existing roster makes it into the next game is a big conversation. I think you have to keep the original eight but also do you. I don't think you do. I don't think you do. Damn who's this who's the indispensable off at original. Who is responsible is maybe not 12. Well actually there's no 12.

Jigglypuff is 12. Yeah yeah. It's like I were looking at those four unlockable characters. Jigglypuff. Captain Falcon Luigi is next. I don't know Jigglypuff has the motion anymore. Don't Luigi has to make it in though. Doesn't this is brother. Wow. Welcome. Wow. Yeah no never. That's not like that. Yeah. If I swear to God if we get a new smash and then a year after a year later if Sakurai dare releases a trailer that's like oh and we're releasing Luigi DLC. I'm storming. I'm storming. I'm not saying I'm storming it. Because I don't I'm not I'm storming a building though. You will be in the streets with a sign above and protect your yards. Crazy says Tim Luigi absolutely has to if we're talking about just getting eight characters in there. Luigi's not making the cut. Like I'm saying I'm saying getting a starting roster for a brand new smash game. I don't even say an amount of characters. Thinkling's making it in over Luigi. Yeah. If you only have eight over Luigi is Luigi on the Nintendo store sign is Luigi walking to the store. His brother is gonna be everything. I think Luigi's too important for this. Yeah.

I think he's I think he's too legacy. I mean we had we had discussions at one point of like is Luigi more popular than Link. Remember we had this. He didn't have this. It was all a meme of better players. Yeah. It was all a meme of like the year of Luigi. How funny. But then like you started like looking at sales as they were like actually. He's got it. He's got it. I just think he has such strong nepotism. It's like his brother is the guy. You can't go anywhere with that. Brothers Mario. The reality is we're not going to get a smash brothers with only eight players. So it's a good point that doesn't matter. Luigi will be there. I am like okay. What if it was only eight players. We're not going to say. Let's say 14. There's a lot to do with 14. Then we get a Luigi. It's the year 2015 and you see Tim Gettys at a best buy. He's not there without Kevin Koelah. This needs to be a games cast of like we're pitching the new smash. We're only getting 12 slots. Who's the modern 12 slots? I love this. I love this. I love this. The original came out with 12 slots.

What does that look like today? Because yeah, I like I think the sweet kids need to get it over Ness. You know what I mean? Like pickman needs to get it over Captain Falcon. Yeah. Man the captain. I think Jigglypuff. Oh, like the like dishonoring the captain that way is just like it's dishonoring the parents. This is also like you get rid of Jigglypuff put it in Evie. Oh, shit. But then do we do we have to talk about generation representation of Pokemon? See, I mean, there's a lot here going on because it's Sakurai and Waldronon. J6 is there Sakurai's evolve. He's time for Leon Kennedy. It's a different story. But if he's not and it's more of just a it's an Nintendo made smash. I like look at the side of the Nintendo store. That's the lineup. Oh, shit man. I need to open the Nintendo store right now. It's Luigi on it. Somebody tell me. He's not. I'm pretty sure. We just not on the Nintendo store. Yeah, but that's like when you're in proximity, because here's the thing, right? Like that sounded like like your parents just told their child. Luigi's not here. He did say Luigi's on the Nintendo store.

And I think I think Luigi because I hear his thing. I think Luigi is competitive with Link. Look at this. But I think it's the fact that like his brother is Mario. So it's like, what are you going to do when your brother's mark? Your brother is always going to be on a forefront. And so like, I think so you're telling me if there's a limited amount of spots and only one of them could make it. It's going to be Mario and not Luigi. But I think Luigi is more important than Link still. I think if Mario gets shot in the head, then links at the front of the slide. There's going to be a smash Brothers game with Mario Luigi. No, I mean, no. No, but it's because Mario. So it's in the way that like like, okay, we know team purple. Team purple gets the vote for like most popular team or whatever. And we know it's like, well, the audience loves Mike. But like, the audience also loves Andy. But it's like, when you're on the same team as Mike, there's like a level of like overshadowing that could happen because Mike is such a big person. But like, that doesn't take away from the fact that everybody loves Andy also that that's Luigi. Everybody loves Luigi. But he's next to Mario and Mario's fucking snow bike Mike. So he's he's allowed a

noxious icon figure. It's like Greg Miller. Yeah. You know, you're not wrong. We have a Tim Getty's right here. Everybody loves Tim Getty. Yeah, I'm the fucking pick man. Not enough people love me. How do you fucking real? Call it with that hot takes. Yeah. Like, look at this shit. That's smash brothers right there. No, man, that's the Nintendo smash brothers. I mean, yeah. I'm not mad at it. And then dog Kong Luigi. We have to have this game. Samus. I'm not saying Andy's Luigi. I'm curvy. I'm just saying Luigi is standing up at all. And Luigi is standing next to such a big figure. Yeah. But like, that doesn't take all the way from the fact that he's still Luigi. Think about Charlie Day in the movies. You know, how much we adored him. Yeah. How much of a star he was. I had another point that was actually to this. I forgot. Oh, I was going to make a really passionate about it. But yeah, really into the other conversation. But to the whole three to six months thing, which is the

conversation that we're having, I wonder how much of it is just the amount of information that you want to disseminate over time about a firearm or a Zeno blade. That's good call. Like similar to smash, right? Where, yeah, you want to have that marketing cycle. I think when you have such a such a large RPGs, you might need to need a few more Nintendo. Variety. A lot of variety. A lot of different things to cover over the course of features. And maybe these games a bit more niche. Maybe you want to get them in front of people a little bit more because they are such big games. Yeah. I also think that the announcing things too early, like we've seen Nintendo literally feel shame over this. Like Metroid Prime 4, scarred them. And you could tell. Like the way that in multiple directs we had to have, we didn't have to, but they decided to have men standing in front of a camera and be like, I'm sorry, I've dis honored you. Like a Metroid Prime 4 will come eventually, but like, you know, they really owned that shit. And I think that because of that, and even with Zelda, right? With like tears of Canaan Rebethawa, we got a much

longer like years and years long thing. It does create that obsession online of like every time this is direct, then kind of need to go out of the way. Like we're not talking about the Switch too with this time. We're not talking about Zelda at this time. And I don't think they like that. Yeah. You know, and I think that with certain games, like I don't think that you're getting that with fire or a casino blade, despite those franchises being massive for Nintendo, you just, I can't believe I'm saying this, but you're not bringing out the crazies, you know? Like I think the new blade audience respectable group. Yeah. I mean, I think so. I never met use the thing, right? Never been a team of my fans. I'm just saying, like, there are plenty of games that are franchises over over time, where it's like, oh, none of us are a fan of this. And the fans will be obnoxious or like, you know, me and bear will try to preview what Shin Megami fans say. They get really uptight about it. The Xenoblade fans, even though for the longest times, like, none of us really played over into Xenoblades, they've always been respectful about it. It's always just like, hey, I would really like it. Yeah. You're right. Enjoy this thing. How respectable. It's

a really pleasant bunch. Yeah. That's that's our heart. Take AOL America online says, just want to give a shout out to you all. I love the current crew. It kind of funny and somehow you people have all been entertaining for so many years. Thank you so much. Bob says, where are the DK and Pauline outfits in Mario Kart World? What an excellent question. How did they not do that? How was there not a Donkey Kong Mario Kart World drop the month of ananza came out? It's so bizarre because like, if I'm remembering correctly, those are the only two characters that didn't really get many other costumes, right? Yeah. So there's no reason. I only had a couple, but Pauline was old at that point. Yeah. I'm of the mind that if you have Donkey Kong in your game, and I know that they have roots, I know that they go back. But if you have Donkey Kong in your card game, then you should have everybody else. Okay. I can get with that. I don't know where you're going. Yeah. Like I, you mean everybody like Nintendo everybody or the Kong? No. No, I mean everybody else. Oh, no,

no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I know bless you specifically. I thought you were talking about the Kongs. I disagree with that DK's part of the thing. If you want the other Kongs to be there, they don't show up without everybody else from all of the other games. Like when you say other games, I'm a crossing. I want Link. Fuck that. I want everybody there. I want everybody there. I want everybody there. It's not Nintendo cards. Mario Kart. DK's part of the Mario family. But that's not the party. That's what I'm saying. I he's not. Did he's not. I think I think that sometimes she'll stop it. God. Jesus. I think they go back far enough to where it's like, we don't remember you being part of the family. Mario was in a DK game. That's a last language. It's just the first game Mario was in was called Donkey Kong. It's old news. It's old hat. You know, you can't have Donkey Kong in your game now. Everybody knows Donkey Kong now as the guy from the Donkey Kong games. No, he's in every Mario spin off. Pauline's the mayor

of new dog city. New dog city. Where is it? Mario has Donkey Kong been in any other Mario game? Like every spin off one. Like, well, they played the Olympics or what? No, they're playing tennis. They're playing golf. They're playing kart. They're at the party. He's in all of them. They're at the Mario party. Are you forgetting the DK's character and all of these spin-offs? I just assumed that everybody else is in those spin-offs. Yeah, you're right. You're right. No. Yeah, you're right. There's no shot. You've read out the DK's and everything. They also have a game called Mario versus Donkey Kong. I don't believe in. They're in the same universe. I think Couch and I have everybody. I mean, DK Jr. was in Mario Kart 1. He's been listening to Day 1. He's one of the eight characters. Yeah, he's literally in the original. Does he go in over Luigi? No. If you think about it, DK has more history with Mario than Luigi does.

That's quite literally impossible. Let me look at what happened. They were born together. Were that twins? Are they? Yeah, they are. Mario and Luigi. Yeah, shut the fuck up. They're not twins. They're born at the same time. No shit. No silence. I was a coincidence. Come on. The whole plot. The store was bringing them at the exact same time. And DK is in all those sports games. It's great. Mario is AI. So maybe take with the grain of salt. Mario and Luigi are roughly 24 and 26 years old. That's not what that says. 24 to 20. I don't know. We still in it. Let me get through a couple more superchaps. You know, that would have had the best. What an episode, man. Call of upsets. We're at the point where leaks are greatly affecting the reaction. True or false, Dockery and Reveal would have popped off if we didn't know about it already. Yeah, dude, it fucking sucks. It's fun to talk about leaks. It's fun to like...

It's fun to get excited about whatever. But it's just like, yeah, man, I wish more than anything that these big announcements we did not know about. Now here's the thing though. And this is all like, you know, Monday morning quarterback, KineSide 2020. The trailer that they played after that gameplay, Demo Valkyrie, and if that was played after the... A young boy fucking, you know, he's laying down in the little bed. Like if they played the big trailer that they played for us at the end of this guy, that would have been like, whoa, we would have been so stoked. But it was just like, you know... True, but we still would have been more stoked if we didn't know about it all. Of course. And it was full of the ocarina of time. Of course. The way that like, I popped off her, links Awakening remake when that was first shown off. Like, I just can't believe this is a thing right now. Crazy. Yeah. Darth and Zlo says, make a wallow eG deck builder, please Nintendo. My boy deserves a game.

Would that get you? Yeah, the fucking twins. That's crazy. I told you, this straight up calling him twins in Yoshi's Island. I am. I never knew there were twins. Do you see a shot of their mom and dad at the end of Yoshi's Island? I never beat Yoshi's Island. Why, I knew they were brothers. Brothers. Yeah, I knew they were brothers. I knew that they would share their mom and dad. What are their parents' names? We saw, but you just see like their feet. It's just weird. It's off. My point earlier though was that we saw Mario and DK in the same game before we ever saw before we even knew Mario had a brother. Yeah. But I digress. I forget what we're talking about. DK is on all those games. DK is on all of them, bless. The question of was DK and any other Mario games crazy? It's crazy. Well, I was thinking I was thinking of a mainline. I was thinking of a mainline. Well, I don't think DK was in any mainline games. There's Easter eggs. There's a big monkey. So, for sure Easter eggs, New York City is a place you can do. Well, everybody, this has been an episode of the kind of funny games cast.
