Northwestern's Reid Transferring to Memphis

On April 30th, Jaden Reed, the 5 foot 10 junior guard from Westbury, New York,

wrapped up a rollercoaster season as Northwestern's starting point.

Guard, he averaged 10.1 points and led the team with 5 assists per game,

stepping up big as their floor general and pick and roll sets.

His top moments lit up the court, like dropping a career high,

28 points off the bench against Illinois on 9-15 shooting, including 3-6 from deep.

Just before the Big 10 tournament ended, he dished 9 assists twice,

tying a school record against Penn State and shining in the loss to Purdue.

Fans and coaches saw his playmaking spark the offense,

ranking him second on the team in offensive impact.

But his smaller frame at 160 pounds hurt on defense in the physical Big 10,

where he ranked dead last in defensive rating and got.

Pulled from mine ups at times, efficiency dragged him down too.

With a 39 percent field goal clip, 31.7 from 3, and leading the cats and turnovers at,

1.9 per game, streaks of brilliance mixed with rough nights,

like 5 of 20 shooting and 9 turnovers over three games.

Reed's transferring to Memphis in the AAC for his senior year,

where tightening up those turnovers and boosting his shot could unlock his full.
