We're going to talk about the dirty man safe today, which, in my opinion, is the best survival cash that money can buy. The big thing about caching, I feel like a lot of people that are prepared, this mind, did sure they know what it is. And the big problem that the dirty man safe solves is, you know,

1:02are you actually going to build a cash? Are you? I mean, you probably have a lot of ideas in which you'd like to put in one, but are you actually going to build one? Because if you're not going to build it, then the dirty man saves out there waiting for you. OK, so we're going to bring on Howard to talk to us today about the dirty man safe. You are the creator of this incredible cash system, right, sir. Thanks for having you. Thanks for coming on today. Well, thanks for having me. And it's great to be here. Yes, I am the creator of it. It took a little bit and a long path to get here. So it's not as easy as it seems as you were saying. It's an interesting, we got a short interview, but it is an interesting thing to be sitting around and thinking about. If you could give me like a pretty quick version of like, you know, where and when did this thing pop into your head? So we are into survival stuff with some other products, but that's what led to the dirty man safe.

2:02I was fiddling around outside and I thought, OK, well, once you have your water and food ready, what next? If you have water and food, you still need a way to barter and how do you hide that if your house burns down or something and whatnot? And I thought, well, the best way to keep it is underground. And I came in after, lean around after my first project. My wife said, why are your knees so dirty? And I said, that is the name of the, that's the name of the product, dirty man safe. So that's where it came from. We wanted to protect from fire. We wanted to protect from everything. And we had to do a pivot shortly thereafter because it turned out that crime was right there with disasters. So. Ah, yeah, looters. Yeah, we had to make some adjustments, some big adjustments that you'll see on that safe. And we can talk about them if we have time. But we did a pivot and it took quite some time. We found that the way the industry was doing it and preppers are at the point of the

3:04spearhead of doing all this stuff. They are always there first, give them duct tape, a hammer and a pair of pliers and they're there. So glad you said that. Yeah. We found that preppers were not quite getting the exact system that they needed to accomplish this. So we had to go vertical. We had to go with a, with a, with a tube outside tube. We had to go with a cap. We had to go with a stainless steel cable. We had to do so many things to get to where it's at. It looks very, very simple. It looks like a child could do it. But when you look at the science of it, you'll say, I get it. I understand why it is what it is. I'm going to throw this side of you. I think this is one of the best images you guys have explaining the dirty man's safe because it, let me, let me grab the ground above it because it really does sort of show what you're getting and why you're getting what you're getting, right? In terms of like the burial depth, the protection, the outer shell and you probably have much

4:08better lingo than me. So just shut me up if you want. The outer shell, the outer PVC cover that protects the actual cache, but then also gives you this what I like most about it, which is the quick and easy access to the thing, right? You know, not digging 17 feet underground. Right. Right. Anybody can put anything in the ground. And I will, I will not debate that with anyone. You can put it in the ground whether it's going to survive with the, the harsh environment down there. That's, that's to be seen. So we didn't invent this. Because pirates have been doing this for years. Our grandparents have been doing this for years with coffee cans. We did not invent this. So I'm not standing up saying, look, look what we did. All we did was refine it for you. We actually went after our target audience was the women. And what I mean, really? Yes, yes. We went after this and when we tested, we tested with the amount of, of a resistance that we had pulling this thing up and we said, oh, understood.

5:08Yeah. And we wanted a, and I, I'm going to use this and people will say, well, why are you using this phrase? We wanted a teenage girl to be able to pull this out of the ground. So yeah, yes, that was a big deal. So we had to go with the depth. We had to go with the size. We had to go with the length. We had everything, everything revolved around a wife or a young daughter pulling this out of the ground because we knew that if it hits the fan, they're going to be the ones that are at home. The husband may be away working and whatnot traveling. Who knows? But they have to get to this and they have to pull it out of the ground quickly. Now they don't have to pull it out of the ground because we're beyond eight inches down. So fires, we're pretty, pretty safe from fires. But that means I'm not talking about a volcano, but not, but fires and we're, we're pretty good. But we, again, getting back to it, we wanted to make sure that, that the women can pull this out of the ground. Now bearing it may be a whole another issue, because you need a post told digger and you need a little savvy, you know, to get this thing done.

6:11But that being said, that was our claim to fame as I said, okay, if my wife needs to go out there and get it and, and, and, and, and book out, that she can actually do it herself without, you know, being able to, to bench press 200 pounds and whatnot. Yeah, that's a big deal. Yeah, that stuff has to be functional, right? It has to be functional for the whole family. Yeah. So which based on this size, what, just so everybody has an idea, can you see? What size this one is here? Because you have several sizes. I think that is the large. I believe that's the large. That's what I thought. Okay, I wasn't 100% sure. Yeah, that's the large. So we have three sizes. We have the medium, which is half the size of the large and then we have the extra large, which is the four inch diameter as opposed to the three inch. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, that's the, that's the granddaddy of it all. When you, we actually had a gentleman, I don't want to get to specifics, but we had a gentleman, I talked to him on the phone for length, length,

7:12the time and he put a hundred ounce of gold in his, in his extra large safe. And he had multiple saves, too, by the way. Most of these people buy them. Yeah, most of these people, I had no idea. So when these people are buying the saves, we have some people by the medium. And the medium is fine. Don't get me wrong. And we even have the crypto edition. But they find that they have more stuff. They start really thinking about it and put pictures in there and they put computer stuff in there. They put it in a fair day bag. They, they get so, I have, I had a woman well known. She put chocolate in her and she said, it's a comfort food. So when it hits the fan and she has to get to it and things happen, she can have her chocolate to calm herself down when, when this doll all goes down. I thought, well, you know, it is, you know, technically it's made out of ABS, but it's not as harmful as PVC. So, I didn't know. I thought it was PVC. No, no, no. Well, the white cap is PVC.

8:13The odd thing about PVC, that people don't understand when they start bearing their stuff in PVC, Silver itself has a bad reaction to PVC and it will tarnish. So if you have pristine silver or precious metal, now PVC, you can pressurize it. But there's no reason for us to pressurize this. We are not putting anything in there. And we highly advise against anybody putting liquids in the, if they're in freezing areas because it'll, it'll expand. Oh, of course, yeah. But that being said, we had to go with ABS. ABS is, is what is used under the ground right now for probably 90% of the country's plumbing. So it's in the ground already. It's proven. And it's not harmful to any of the stuff that you put in. So that's the whole reason with ABS. Everybody in the industry, well, not everybody, but they're going with, with, when you hear stories of them bearing and, and having caches, they're using PVC. And I'll tell you right now, people, you can't use PVC if you want to put anything precious in there. It gives off gas. It constantly gives off gases and it will harm stuff.

9:14I don't know about electronics, but it will definitely have an issue with your precious metals and your, you know, your, your keepsakes. So that was the reason why we had to go with ABS. And the sizes that we have are, are difficult to work with. So, you know, that, that is what it is. So, and then the getting back to it again, I don't, please, please stop me because I'll talk all day. No, let's hear it, man. That's what you hear for. The cable itself, when we, when we did a pivot from, from mother nature to human nature, the cables that we were using were different. And we looked at a sailboat and we said, the answer is there because of the stainless steel on sailboats. Ah, yeah. Yeah, we, we, we, we, we opened the magic door because we found that stainless steel is one of the hardest metals for metal detectors to detect. I'm not saying it's 100%. But it's one of the hardest, okay. So, not only was it strong and it can stay in the ground for a tremendous amount of time, is, is that when somebody comes by with a metal detector, it's one of the hardest metals

10:19to detect. So again, like I said, we had to do a pivot from mother nature to human nature. And that was one of the key things that we, we, we did with, with the safe and changing it. And I guess again, you know, our costs went up. We didn't, we didn't pass it on, onto the, to the buyer. Our costs went up and our time to make it. If you look at how we, um, crypt, we have to crimp the swages down. We have to have to cut the stainless steel. Many, many things went into just that one part. Yeah, it's a very, again, I mean, I can't imagine. Happening. Feel this thing with something heavy enough to break that wire. It's not happening. Uh, you guys also include some metal balls that can be used in a variety of ways. You probably should talk about that because that's one of the things that our community really kind of was like, oh, this is a, this is a really cool feature here. Yeah, we, so I did a research when I was in my, with my, uh, path of finding out how metal detectors work and whatnot. I talked to a very renowned metal detector gentleman.

11:19He pointed me, um, in the direction of, in one of the New England states, I can't, I don't remember the state itself, but they, there's a civil war, um, an area there. And they were having problems with pirates going in, modern day pirates looking for all the goodies from the, uh, yeah. But what the national park did is they, they, I don't know, I don't even know if they coined this, but they salted the ground with metal, which means that they took, they took junk metal and they buried it through the whole area. It's shavings. Correct. And what this did, slowed down the thieves. So it slowed them down so much that it, it took them hours just to figure out that it was in a bad spot. And then they were able to catch them at that point because they could catch these thieves. They were going straight for the stuff, digging down, getting it and out they went, but now they had to, uh, deal with a massive amount of metal in the ground. And that's basically what our ball bearings are doing. We actually advise if you have your own junk metal, spread it out through the, I love

12:20that story, man. That's an amazing story. Yeah. And again, we stumbled upon that story and it, and it, and it works. We actually have a gentleman that, that reviewed our safe, um, and, uh, you can find it on, on, on, on YouTube. I don't want to promote anybody. But, um, he actually got his mind labs, um, uh, metal detector and he couldn't find it. So he put our, our silver down there. And he put a silver coin on the, on, on ground level and to show that his mind labs, uh, metal detector was working and he could not find the safe. So you know, again, it was the pivot going from mother nature to human nature. So we, we worked it out for mother nature and it works great for mother nature. We, we actually have on our, uh, Instagram posts. We, we lit a fire on top of it for four hours. Um, and we dug it up and there's nothing, absolutely nothing to the safe. So, uh, you know, again, it's the human nature that we're doing the pivot for right now. And I think 90% of your audience is probably concerned with human nature as opposed to,

13:23oh, of course. Yeah. Yeah, I think they understand the value and the level of protection they get from that big cap and the big tube. I mean, let's be honest, the vast majority of preppers that I know, we're burying this, you know, not even the outer shell to protect it from everything outside of that and to give it another, you know, another layer of protection from human nature as you call it. I like that. The sleeve that you just mentioned, um, which people don't quite understand. The sleeve itself, people think that it's protecting the safe and it's not protecting the safe. The safest we, we, we've done some brutal things to the safe and it, and it survives most everything. But the outer shell, which we call the sleeve, is not there to protect the safe. It's there to make it easier to pull it up. We found that if you just put stuff in the ground, mother nature grabbed a hold of it and, and doesn't want to, doesn't want to give it up. Oh, of course, yeah. So the sleeve is like a silo, a missile silo. So it makes it easier for this, this device that are safe to come up and the cap, all

14:26the cap is doing is, is protecting it from the dirt going into the silo. That way it doesn't fill up. Correct. So you always have the safe that's, that's free of mother nature. So you're actually pulling the safe up six, seven inches of soil. And if you dig around it, that's nothing. So we made it, we, we had to go, I had one gentleman that went down, oh my gosh, he went down really deep and I said, I can't guarantee this because I, he wanted a longer cable. I said, we'll give you a longer cable at no cost. But I cannot guarantee the safe coming up because now you're pulling up so much weight. Oh, right. Yeah. That no problem. I'm going to dig down. I want super duper metal detectors to find this stuff. And I said, I don't know. By the way, speaking of that, we ship this in a plain ground box to whatever address you, we ship real USPS or your UPS. I can attest. I have no idea. And your audience may, may know of the Liberty Safe debacle that happened about a year and a half ago. I don't know if you recall that. No. Okay.

15:27So Liberty, do we have time? I get it. Sure. Definitely. Liberty safe. Anything about Liberty Safe, I've never spoken to them, but a story broke about a year and a half ago that a three-liter agency was out. And they had a warrant to arrest this gentleman. I believe he was a former military. And he was in DC at a time of January 6. I won't get into specifics, but he was there. And they were arresting him. Well, they had an arrest warrant, I believe, but they did not have a warrant or the documentation to go into his house and look into his safe. They had it for him, but not for that. Well, this agency called... Trying to find the story real quick. Yeah. Yeah. If you go into Joe Rogan or the Hodg twins, you will find it. Hodg twins Liberty Safe or Joe Rogan Liberty Safe or Brandon Herrera out of Texas. Liberty Safe.

16:27Anyways, so they went into his house and they picked up the phone and they called Liberty Safe. And Liberty Safe gave him the back door code for the safe. No. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. And they could just get right in. So first off, people didn't know that there were back door codes for every single safe, even the Tumblr safes. There's back door codes that these companies have, which it's not been announced. So when the story broke, people were burning their safes and breaking their safes and all sorts of other things. Yeah. So again, it's a wild story. We were just starting off and our website was horrible. We just didn't have things in order and we were bombarded with traffic on our website and we did not capture it because that was our fault. But Liberty Safe really catapulted us into the next step. So it's an odd story that Liberty Safe thing, but you'll have multiple people talking about

17:30it. So Liberty Safe's failure flung the dirty man safe into, right, right, full place in the prepping world and well in the world at large, right? People at that point were asking, well, if we can't trust our safe company, what, who can we trust? And it came back to straight into the mirror, look in the mirror and say it's all on you now. So what are you going to do? You can go out and drop stuff in your ground. That's fine. I love it. I love it. Go ahead and do it. And when we have things that publish on YouTube and people review it, we get blasted because people say, oh, I can make this for $5. I can do it for $6. And that's fine. I don't have a problem with that. That's good. I, you know, there's some good people out there and they just want to stress how valuable they are. And that's perfect. That's who I am. But when it comes down to it, what is your valuable? What is your hourly rate in doing this? So yeah, you can copy it. You can copy it all you want and it's done throughout history, people copy things.

18:35But what is it really going to take you to copy this thing? When you really look at it, you'll say, okay, now I've got to do this. I need a special machinery. I need this. I need to find the products and all the rest of that stuff. And I need to learn how to do this and I need to learn how to do that. And then it's not safe making them first off. But that being said, we have it here for you and we made it easy. And again, and I don't want to sound like a sales pitch, but this was intended for the women. This was intended. I speak to many, many housewives or women in general and they say, I buy it and I put it on my husband's lap or I put it in a sitter and now they have to do something about it because I purchased it. And so, you know, I had one gentleman who was quite interesting. He actually did a night out with his two kids and they went out and buried it in the middle of the night and did a camping thing and the kids both know where it's at. And they're good to go. I had another gentleman buy three of them, one for himself and two for the other two kids. He didn't tell the kids, but he buried them.

19:36And when he dies, they're going to get a map of what he's giving them. So there's no. Oh, that's so cool. Yeah, nothing involved. Nothing involved. So they're going to get a map and they're going to get their gold silver, whatever it is, cash, whatever you want to put in there. You put chocolate in there. Yeah, but I always say to the people who, you know, say things like that to us in terms of like, oh, I could make one. And really, it's been kind of my biggest pitch on the product in total. In terms of caching is you probably can make something, but will you make it? Because what I've learned about a lot of the prepping community is everybody knows a lot, but not everybody does a lot, you know what I mean? So will you do it is the question, not will you not can you do it, but will you actually do it? And that's where I think you guys really excel because now all of a sudden you have everything you need to get what you want to get into the ground, right? It's just a digging part. You know, the thing I think you nailed it and because the prepping community has great thinkers, second to none, great, great thinkers.

20:39When you look at innovation, as I was talking to someone, he says, you know, innovation's coming from the American garages now because big industry is on its path and that's what they do. But when you really look at innovation, it's coming from the garages. And these, some of these preppers do some spectacular things and you say, oh my gosh, they're digging deep and they're figuring this stuff out. But it doesn't come easy prepping. Nothing comes, nothing comes easy. And we try to make it as simple as possible, as easy as possible, and as foolproof as possible. And we went after the women, we literally went after the women and we said, if they can't use it, it's useless. The man can go do stuff and cut down a tree and you know, play football and do the math and all the rest of that stuff. But it's the women that take care of the households. And if we don't look at that and say, okay, we have to make a smaller gun and we have to make you know, an automatic transmission, we, if we don't do that, then where are we?

21:43Then we just talk about things. So we're a good society, we're a good group and I have it all the preppers out there. That's off. Yeah, no doubt. And I didn't even know what I went to the website to gather up, you know, the things from the website I wanted to show off on today's show and I saw you guys run a Labor Day promotion. 22:43I would say it is critical. Yeah, I would love to sell hats and shirts, but the last thing you want to do is walk into a bar on Friday night, not the people at the bar, and to have a dirty man saved hat. Your talent. Exactly. And where do you live? Yeah, exactly. And folks out there, even if I hate to say this because things happen when I say it, but even if we were hacked and our information was, was, was, you know, whatever. Oh, yeah. We don't know where you put the safes. Nobody in the world knows where you put the safe. You could put it out in the middle of you, somebody park for all we know. I have no idea where you're putting it. I don't want to know what you put it. Want to know where you put it. This is on you. And the thing with the safe is, if something happens to you and you don't tell someone or you don't put the safe or you don't give it to a lawyer or your kid or friend, it's gone until, you know, another civilization comes and finds it because it's going to be in the ground.

23:43Nobody's going to know where it's at. So, you know, I've acted in. It is great protection. There's no doubt about it. Yeah, I've had lawyers. So many people are using it in different ways. I've had lawyers call me up and say, oh my gosh, when the lawyers and the divorce lawyers find out about this, you're going to, it's going to, yeah, because you guys could put a million dollars worth of gold in the thing, right? That's on your website. There's, well, exactly, exactly. Um, and that's a big deal when divorce hits. If you got some money worth hiding for sure. I want to, what's going in there? And, you know, people will say, well, people are going to use this for nefarious things. And I say, well, the US dollar, I mean, what did they use the US dollar? For some, that'd be, you know, yeah.
