It's true faith in Kalshi United podcast and a point we're unbeaten, we're still unbeaten, hard-fought point against Bournemouth at St James's Park this afternoon ending 2-2. I'm Charlotte. I'm joined by Audie Adam and Jonathan and we have just been at the game. We're going to be talking about the game, talk about what that means, first half, second half, different players and all of that. But before we get into it, a reminder that we are on patron, it's between three and eight pounds a month for varying tiers. We put out a podcast

pretty much every day and of course we'll be putting out podcast for Millwall Game this week then looking forward to the Leeds game next Monday as well. So please do join us there. A link is in the description to this podcast. Okay, a point when it looked like we were going to get absolutely thrashed, certainly in the first half hour, not just by Bournemouth who were organised and looked a lot more up for it than we did but by the referee who didn't really fancy giving us anything. Are we Audie, are you taking from that that it was, that we got a comeback from it and we got a point out of the game or are you taking it as more as concerning the way that we played certainly in the first half? I think the first half, certainly the first half an hour, 35 minutes is a bit of a concern. Pretty much until Harvey Bond just decided to be a one man wrecking ball and pull us back to one. That is a bit concerning. I felt like we almost didn't expect them to press with five against our four and that as Nico went back towards goal,

as Miley went back towards goal, they were like brilliant, extra gaps and for some reason we decided we weren't going to give the ball the dead-etch at right back even though he wasn't quite a bit of space. But I think the character test has been well and truly passed. I mean, you know, it would be very easy for those lads heads to go down when the second one went in. I mean, how one earth the second one actually went in. Like, it's a bit of a surprise off the post, off the keeper, back to Alex Scott, off Malik Chow into the far corner. But they responded really well to it. 27 seconds eight, that's two one, brilliant, great, and second half, I felt we gave them much better account of ourselves. A couple of things to mention about that. Obviously, Bournemouth couldn't keep up that level of press, which is quite important, but also the fact that clearly there was some adaptation made by the manager who wasn't happy with what he was saying because when the second goal went in, it's fair to say it looked like he was about to completely lose his head with anyone in a black and white shirt. Maybe that's where Harvey Barnes runs so fast away from him. To score. But, you know, definitely currently test passed. Football test undecided because we did

say even after Spurs, this is going to be the first game where we would not be the team who could play the underdog in a bit of comfort and play on the counter attack, that we would have to dominate possession. I felt like for about that fifth year in a row, it feels like that played right in the Bournemouth hands. Yeah, I feel like we had a couple of questions coming into this game and this game has created questions for us as well. We hadn't had the face at this yet. We've taken the lead in both our games previously in the league and it's a lot different to play when you're ahead. So we very early this afternoon had to start to play from behind and try and figure out what that looked like. We showed that we could face up to that throughout the game, not in the first half of the tour. I thought we were dreadful, but in the second half we were able to. But the questions that does show is we play and rely so much on our wing backs. And so when the team takes them away, we looked awful. All you mentioned, we couldn't get it to dead. It just by Bournemouth's design, they pressed them out of the game, they gave them the space and the second they all went to them, they jumped them and we saw that and then the only outboard from that for the rest of the game was I will try and hoop it along and see what happens and then Bournemouth's sat in the halfway line

and recovered. So there's a lot of questions around that. It will probably dive into the personal on the field as well. There were some really rough performances out there in that first 45 minutes, 60 minutes. We did get better. We made the right changes at the right time, which as we were discussing before already, probably wouldn't have seen that last year. We were probably seeing the same players coming on into the same positions. And so that was a refreshing change I think. But yeah, there's a lot of people, a lot of different clubs will take a lot away from what Bournemouth did today and we need to be able to react to that moving forward. Yeah, I thought there was a lot of space in behind the full backs all afternoon. I think sometimes dead it was too high and they were trying to repeat what they were doing against Spurs without much adaptation there. I think we need to possibly look at bringing another midfielder into that midfield if it's going to be that deep because as you mentioned, all them hoost upfield were just landing in the centre of the pitch and they were just born with players there because that was so deep. So yeah, but to answer your question, I think we've got to be pleased to come away with a point because

without it, with it, we're still on beat and we've got the same record as the Almighty Liverpool. We're able to hopefully build the mentality because I think that probably did take a battering towards the end of last year. And now we can see, I mean, you saw the way you actually reacted to the, it was going absolutely mental on the touch line. So he's instilling still in that. So yeah, we'll take the point and yeah, hopefully we can get a better result next week. He got a yellow on the touch line, Jaisler. He really cares. I really like that about him. Actually, one of his coaching staff did as well, I think, because he was in the fourth official's year as well. Fair enough, because there was some, there was some mad on field decisions from the referee and we already know that Jais is not afraid of sort of like getting over to the referee and talking to them and trying to understand the decisions and it was there, there was some mental on today. Yeah, I think that the character is a thing. I'm such a blast-huffled person anyway, but I think the character is the thing that I'm going to take away from this, particularly after last season, where we went behind that was the end of the game and we were just

chasing it and chasing it and chasing it. In fact, often if we went ahead, that was also the end of the game. But it was, yeah, I mean, Harvey Barnes reacting in the way that he did really just sort of thought, yeah, I'll just score a goal and sort this out. I said at halftime as Batmuss here from carrying the team because he was doing so much of the work in the first half. I also like that whatever was said in the second half in the halftime team talk that it had an effect because we'd been quite sluggish, quite slow in the first half, very slow to be out, very sloppy and it tightened up slightly, not wholly, but slightly in a second half and then the substitutions obviously made the difference to the game. So I, I mean, it's just consuming, there are still concerns, like you say Adam, there are questions that that game has thrown up for us, but we knew, I think, we've had a really good start to the season, but we knew, we've got a new manager, we've got eight new signings, we need these people, the players didn't get signed in June,

they got signed in the last like four, three, four weeks. So we knew that there would be work to do, we know that there's a manager adapting to a new league, adapting really well to be clear, a manager adapting to a new league, players adapting to new leagues and things like that. So I'm okay with this at this stage in the season, with this game three of our season because the character that we showed and the comeback that we made, firstly we've got a point, that's in with scored two goals and that's okay and secondly, it's early and we know that these things are. It's also got to be said, we can't lose in this, that Bournemouth played very well, it wasn't just all honest, they by design they did a very good job, they took, the goals were fortunate specifically, the second one, they could have gone anywhere, but they'd capitalised on our areas and they took advantage of that and I think they would desperate for a two-neil, let's just hold out, get to half time, then we've got them squash down, but to get that immediate response and keep it within touch and distance was huge. There's another, I suppose challenge or question to be posed as well,

though, which is that's three home games we've played this season and we've considered twice in every game and having to score three to win home games can't be a repeat pattern. I know that the second goal was very, very flutky for them, but if the Clive at one goes inside the post and doesn't let the post come back out, like, what's in the down? Yeah, I think it does concern me, the way we play at home is very different to the way we played against Spurs, we do try and get the ball and play neat triangles around the box. There was a bit of frustration again within the ground that we weren't adapting to that quick enough, but then one of the difficulties of when we talked about playing the non-ball, who were you playing the non-ball up to? Harvey Barnes, John Whisser, Anthony Langer, well, neither of them, although Whisser, I thought, did a really good job of trying to hold the ball up when it came forward. None of them are known for their physicality and holding the ball up. And when Joe Willock went beyond Whisser and where he was going as the main, again, not known for physicality and holding the ball up, so there was a little bit of, oh, if we just played the ball

40 yards at the park, it's just going to come straight back to us. There was less of that second off, but maybe that was partly because of the changes in personnel, as you've mentioned. Maybe that was because we got a bit better, being able to move them around a bit quicker. I thought the ball moved really slowly first off. I thought that was the thing that killed us the most, is that people wanted extra time. The peak two or three people or an extra touch before turning someone and unfortunate in the Premier League. You just, you don't get those opportunities? Yeah, and I think that that takes us into kind of, if we want to start talking about where we struggled today, Nico and Miley in the midfield, it's almost exactly that, isn't it? It's the directness that we needed that we just couldn't get from them. Nico was playing this incredibly deep position, covering the back almost, but also not really offering too much defensively. He is not the only one guilty of mad misplaced passes in the first half, but he was making them, he's getting the ball

and then just passing it to a ball-mouth player. A couple of people were texting me and we're like, oh, the shirt's as similar in real life as they are on the telly, and I was like, is that a joke? Like, is that a joke because we keep passing to ball-mouth, but apparently it's, apparently it's, I don't know, maybe it's, maybe. On the TV purple looks the same as black and white straight. If mad, isn't it? I'm going to check their TV, who's going to check their TV. Maybe they're just, maybe they've got like a 1950s set and everything's black and white. Good on CRT. I don't know, maybe it was just people taking the person and I just haven't got the joke, but like, I was like, are you joking because we keep passing to ball-mouth players? But they really struggled in midfield today. What was your sort of a take on? Yeah, I think they were just so one pace, the pair of them. I think more than today when I was having the elevate advantage part of thought, they just look exactly the same. And ball-mouth were pushing them so far back that they had to lay it off to Chau and Botman. And they were sloppy and Botman had a horrible game. They nearly gave up the second ball as well. So you don't have your defence to fall back on which I suppose we

did against Spurs. There was the desire to keep making those last-age blocks. And maybe there was a little bit of, I'm not saying tired as they're so early in this season. Yeah, I was saying, we do seem to be that between those two in the midfield. And maybe they haven't trained much. And Miley is just back from injury as well. So I just think it was two pace. And when Ramsey came on, he had the pace and the ability to move out of those tight spaces and move the ball on quicker. So the pace did increase, but in entire first 45 minutes, I just thought they're just going to kill us here. I think the ball miss ability to give our centrebacks no other option than to try and go long or go into the midfield too. Mender, both Nico and Miley picked the ball with their back to goal. And then we were immediately pressed from there as well, which meant their only ball was back to the centre-half, who then just lumped it forward. So all back. Yeah, but Hornet checked his A was just a real day of it. But I think it was this very well controlled and managed. Because we saw Gensperse, Nico was able to get that space to find what he wanted to do, but

just didn't have that all day. And when you've got the Jonathan's point, two centre-matcheelers who were in the same mould, it's a lot easier. Whereas Ramsey would, his first thought was, if I've not got the ball, I'm going to step forward a few yards and get into that hole, and then that's an option, which we just didn't have. And then combined with all these factors, it was so glacial in the buildup. Everyone wants that second touch. Very rarely did the pass go where it was intended to. And the worst thing was the pass that was supposed to be square, which I hate to see anyway, would go back, sort of kill any momentum. We'd fall back. Yeah, these are diagonal, but they're obviously not meant to be. Yeah, little loopy ones around the corner over to it, so they've got a bounce in front of the player, so they've got a then control. And then it slows you down again. Yeah, very frustrating to watch. And just not the game for them. There's no argument. Well, they argument for Ramsey playing in that position, in that in the midfield in a game like that is strong because he came on and then the other scorer goes, but he also changed the game. You're right. He just pushes us the entire team up a few yards at the pitch, and it makes the difference to the game. Yeah, like, I mean, obviously Ramsey came on and the midfield was a bit more tired from having

spent the vast majority of the game, or now we're at least pressing against our bat line. What I would see is that Bournemouth, and they did this under Eureola, like they worked out that if you press us really, really high and we have to break you down, we can't do it. We can't play through the first stage of the press. And today they did it really effectively by saying Alex Scott and Justin Clivehead, pray at the top of the midfield. Adams will cover for you. You go five, three, five against Newcastle, put the fifth Newcastle player as their goalkeeper. So, Derek just pushed on, okay, fine. Nico drops in to get the ball, like Sean stood it against Liverpool, Miley did it from time to time, and they're going, okay, we're man for man here. You've got to lift it over the top of us. That's straight away puts pressure on us because Botman didn't have a great game, but I think his confidence was knocked by the fact that he was thinking, God, I can't see anybody here except the 40-yard ball. I don't know if that was a lack of adaptation to the system because I don't really feel even in the last 15 minutes of the first half and the first 15 minutes of second half. I don't really feel we changed our system at all. Adams was perfectly happy to let the

centre-half deal go Willick and another centre-half deal will whisper and go, okay, I'm now free. So, if you don't break the press, you're looking to pick up the second ball so that you can then break the press, well, we couldn't do that because they had a spare man stood in the centre-of-the-field, and Joe Willick wasn't coming back deep to get the ball into it. Nico was on the other side of it. There was just too big a gap in midfield against Liverpool. It was covered because Whiter played as the 10 and kept dropping in deep. I hate to get on the back of one player because last time I did it, just as he came on the pitch, he then scored against Liverpool. But I don't think Joe Willick is good enough to play on this system. I don't think he's got the energy in the pace to do this week after week after week. I thought it was interesting that when Fernandes Prado came on, he was straight into pressing people. High energy, Joe Willick was not doing that. He was standing off people sort of ambling back. He sort of picked up a knock at one point. He was limping in the first half and sort of... Which is not the first game he's done not this season and he's holding his back and I get that we're a bit of a shortage and that's fine. He's probably the best player at the

moment to fit their role but he's not a 10 and he doesn't have that creativity to find a way through. I think that knock effect to go back to what the comment you're making about Consolis and Miley. I do think that makes life much more difficult for Lewis Miley and the Consolis because they're like, okay, hold on. If we pass the ball through the lines here who's getting it? Well, he's holding his back 40 yards ahead of play. A con given the ball. Where's our third man? Yeah, where is our third man? It was a bit like the bonds Chantwick got missed that the flag went up for offside but like it was Willick. He sort of ambled and then he went but he went too early. So there's things to work on but it is a work in progress. If you told me that we would be relying on Joe Willick for 60, 70 minutes, three games in a row on the season, I think I would have been a little bit more concerned than I probably am now because having seen Fernandez Payne, oh come on. I'm pretty certain he'll start against Leeds. Yeah, I think you have to bring him into the conversation as well because although we didn't see too much of him today, you're absolutely right. The speed he's gone engine, the speed, the ability to get into space and so far up the pitch in such an advanced

position, it will make the difference to our goal. I mean, he's appears. I mean, we've only seen a cameo really from him. He appears to be two-footed. Adam Smith was so scared of him. He fell over any time. Prade will go all anywhere near him. There was certainly a bit of like, I think he hasn't yet built up an understanding of the players. He can tell you, if you're told, you can tell you hasn't trained with them because Hall made an underlapped and Barnes made an overlap and then he went to try and beat two people and then gave the ball to someone further backwards and I was like, in time, you'll see one of those runs and you'll play it. It's a different league. Of course it is. If he's trained at all, it's Friday and that's it. So yeah, I thought it was really positive for that 20 minutes from him, but as you said before, I think everybody who came off the bench made a bit of a difference to the way the team played today. Yeah, for sure. I think that's another positive that we can take from this right is that kind of in-game management. Is that, okay, what do I need to be doing here to change? Who do I trust? Who can I get on? It's going to understand the message and understand how we

need to be set up. I mean, even Jacob, I don't want to dig out any one player today because it was a frustrating game for Mary Adriezans and the first half just wasn't very good. We're pretty much all round, but Elango was a little bit like, older Langer, however, however that, you know, I don't think he's enticed the blame for that. No, yes. It was the system and what we've discussed prior that stopped us doing what we wanted to do for him and sure he had some poor touches, but by that point everyone was and it's exactly that's why I don't want to like dig out too much, but is the confidence player? Yeah, you watched it get lower, didn't you, like, in the game? That first attack where he potentially has his, well, yeah, potentially. And then, yeah, I haven't, I haven't put it back, yeah, but like you looked at the time like it was and certainly the referee and linemen seem to be looking straight at it, so it was weird that they didn't give it, but then they break up the other end and score and you could tell from his reaction to that it was kind of like, uh oh, yeah, and that knocked his confidence and then, we kind of

mentioned it, but 40 odd long balls to his head. You want him on the end of any flicker? He and Wes are trying to do a funny little like jump back heel, like sort of springy jump thing and both of them missed the ball when they did it. I was like, stop there's like, at this point, at this point we weren't even, so it was like, I hate it when people start doing little flarey, fun things when we're like chasing the game, like just please just get it done, like let's get it done as straightforwardly as possible. But yeah, no, I agree. I think he also was given too much time to think and I don't think he's a good person to give lots of time to think he's a he's a run at it, kind of player and then, and then like put the cross in. Anybody that stuck out for you, Jonathan? And a positive or negative way. I have the rule. Yeah, I mean, Dennis continues to impress. He was marked out of the game, but he has got that lightning pace and I think once we understand his game a bit more, we'll see even more from him. And then I suppose this so definitely

improved in the second half, I thought it was really poor in the first half, but he seemed to have a bit of that attitude of right, I need to put this team on my back a little bit again. He started running from deep, started holding onto the ball against the more of them, same sort of runs as we saw against Spurs, but we need that from him for 90 minutes. But I also think he's kind of gets unlocked by the substitutions that were made because he's able to make those runs and able to get into more space because we're playing more advanced up the pitch. So it allows for him to, well, I've really enjoyed watching Whistler like, he's not a big man, but like, use his physicality and hold onto the ball. It's been such a joyous thing. He seems to really be enjoying his football. You and Mr. Stadov are for me, I thought the goalkeeper did quite well. I'm always, I think it's an inbuilt nervousness in me that when the ball goes back to the goalkeeper, I'll start to panic and think, why? There was a couple of very close ones. The way, especially the one he tried, that he wasn't ever Neilson, but it was, but he tried to moot shift the ball and then leave them on the deck. Before the season, even kick soft soccer fans are already making predictions. Who wins the league? Who qualifies for Europe? And who's lifting the trophy at seasons end?

I thought Harvey Barnes had a really, really, really good game and first off, if you were picking out one new castle player, like a good game of Harvey Barnes Lewis Horro also did quite well defensively first off. I thought second Harvey struggled a bit more as the game started opening up. He wanted to get up that left hand side more and more, but butman was not having his greatest game and that I think that left Hall a bit near, so well, do I go? Do I not? And a couple of times he went, they didn't give him the ball, and I think he kind of felt, okay, I'm going to have to sit in here because I can't be

up and down every single time. Sean Sturster looks an absolute classic. I know we're only getting a little bit of him, but in a couple of years time, I think he could be absolutely unbelievable. But yeah, it's difficult. I don't think anyone stood out today because we didn't stand out. You didn't stand out. The referee stood out. The referee. I think we have to kind of mention that. We didn't only get a point out of this game because of the referee, like like you say, Bournemouth were good today. They had a plan. They executed on their plan. They got a bit tired, and our substitutions managed to break that down a little bit. Story of their season so far, going ahead and then just throwing it away. So interesting. They were good. We was lugishing a bit rubbish in the first half. The person now probably went the right person now. Some players weren't having their best days. All of those things are the reason that we've come out of this with only one point and not sitting here jubilant that we've won our first game at home. The season... And would have been top of the league. And would have been top of the league,

albeit probably quite briefly. But so it's not the officiating fault that that happened, but it didn't fucking help. But it allows them to... I'm pretty sure they've done this under the Euro-Olympic Force. I'm pretty sure they sit down and look at who the referee is. Tyler Adams did it in the 4-1 smashing a couple years ago. He got away with seven or eight fouls before he's even talked to by the referee. And that happened again today. And then you've got to have only a player in the midfield, and he's making cheeky little fouls. And yeah, it's not the reason you can't go in on the referee, but in a week... Well, we can't go in. But in a week where we've had all this controversy on referees, being to put in such a stinking performance, I can accept the teams playing the ref. That's part of the game. What I can't accept is the obvious pullbacks, missing the simple pull on a langer, then of course, which exasperates it because it leads to the goal. And he missed loads of them today, and he just wasn't up to it. He was looking at them, though, as far as I can see, he's pointing his face, he's pointing at what's happening, and he's just like, play on. It's so

strange. And then they got wise to it, so they were capitalising on it. And then we started trying to do it, and we started getting yellows all giving away free kicks. And it was just like, I don't... And there's no consistency to this for me. I felt like... And this is not just a thing this season, because we've seen it last season under how as well, where we were losing that... Our captain on the field wasn't getting into the referee's face, so this is the second or third time for that player, what are we doing? There's no accountability there from our side. But equally, we gave away some awful free kicks. It's stupid free kicks. In that point, Charles should also be digging our plays out saying, what are you doing? So I have a real thing about that, watching the game today. I was like, Charles has the captain's on, and the captain is supposed to be the one that talks to the referee, okay, or do you said off that he tried to do that. A couple of times, yeah. And the referee was just not having it, not listening to him. Okay, fine. But I don't think... I don't know if it was a confidence thing,

if he's trying to, like, thinking about bot men in his last, that's full, that's brainless full, because he's thinking about having to cover for bot men. But it did not feel like there was appropriate leadership on the pitch today. And that in itself kind of impacts how the rest of the players are playing in that cohesion feel, did not feel cohesive in the first half, so you know, in that first 85 minutes. And part of that, I know that we took a massive hit to our leadership group in the summer. And that's one thing. But I just don't know if he's the one to be the captain, because you're absolutely right. He's also not taking out players, not, like, not getting in. And I don't want him getting guarded for being a dickhead on the pitch, but like, I also do want to see him... Sometimes really. Coraling people, I want to see him, like, what you're doing over there when, like, you know, he's the captain, he knows what the plan is, or he should know what the plan is. And I just felt like he sort of just stood there watching a lot of the time.

He's the third captain of his name, so... Still though, he's the captain on the pitch. Yeah, I just don't think that comes naturally to him. I think he's... Maybe he can... That can be something he can be taught, but... Yeah. When your third, you know, Bern is going to be ahead of him. Jolintens, vice captain, so, you know, he's basically got it by default at the minute, because I'm not sure there is another name. Yeah, that's the last one. I was also thinking that like, who else would be the one? Bob Mound would be the other option, but I think he was so poor in preseason. They just looked and went, no. We also need to be just better at playing the context of the game. And like, if the referee is not working with it somewhere, we're, you know, we're giving away fouls, which could be smart, like, that every time we're touching the ball with player in the middle of the field, they're going to go down. Yeah. Stop putting the hand on the shoulder, because we'll go down. And like, just play it smartly and then try and work it, like, get them a minute and back there, because every time we try and get into the game, they'll be a stoppage. And that's not coincidental. That's just smart intelligent playing from ball on the side. There's two things to it. Number one, Alex Scott looks like a hundred million pound footballer when Rob Jones is referring. And because

I'm trying to get to the ball apparently, he can't go anywhere. He runs. The Chelsea Scouts. Yeah. And the second thing is, I don't know if it was Mike Dean's comments on a podcast through the week in Rob Jones, I was like, here, hold my beer. I want a bit more attention. Which is possibly the case. I don't know if the PGMOL now makes sure it's just specifically really tight for him as well, because he seemed to be desperate to show off those ball gym iceps. If he's been a bit less time in the gym and more time reading the rules of football, I probably might help him a bit better. I was really disappointed in the fact that, yeah, we didn't put his arrogance and eluthness with our players. Whereas his care and attention at the ball with players are found really, really difficult. A langer gets puked when he's got his back to the player. He jumps. He can't see the player and he makes head contact with the player. Ryan looks at Lewis Hall, drops his shoulder into his face and it's a free kick no booking. And like that, the bit of it, if we're both yellow cards, final case to defend its consistency. But there were times, there were

times that Fernandez Pardo had a free kick given against him when he's running through because Harvey Bond accidentally clips Adam Smith's feet. Okay, fine. All right, do that again then. Wissock gets puked for shoving Tyler Adams, who is trying to shove our player and can't get there, but Wissock gets puked for it. It's mental as well, that booking. It's so soft. I put it on the 10 second hold on Murphy. Yeah. Yeah. He's running to tent. Let go of him. Well, that goes back to the langer situation of like, okay, hold on. Like what is the rule on this? Like how long you'll out to hold on to a player shape? Yeah. Exactly. The difficulty is all for Paul has trying to cheat the referee. Yes. Like every single one of them. So we can't, like, Bournemouth were doing it very successfully today. We did it less successfully. The difference is the top top referee spotted and tried and even it out. I felt he looked pretty much straight away after that first goal, like he knew he messed up almost like that. Like, hold on. There's a lot of noise here about this first goal. Maybe he didn't, whatever, but he also didn't see me care because every time there's a 50-50

Bournemouth, we get in the advantage of it. And that's something that, you know, as fans of A4 or Club, we're going to be biased and say he did a really poor job. I just, I think it's a standard of refereeing in the country. I just think it's really, really low. And you know, you look at Madly, the West Brom game. I can't remember who did the Liverpool game, but I can remember it's being really frustrated after that game. Yeah. After that game. So like, I think it's just a standard of refereeing in this country. It's just not very good. That's why you don't see English referees getting World Cup to any final World Cup final, Champions League finals, etc. Because the rest of the referees are not very good. They're all playing their own mental little games of how we're going to go without a booking or whatever it is. So weird. So weird. So weird to admit that. Okay. So we'll move on from the refereeing, the officiating, generally speaking. Not happy with it. Is the vibe I'm getting here. But we are on beaten after three. We've played three league games now. We have not lost. We're scoring two goals a game. Still a great start. Very positive. It has to be with all the change over the summer. Eight new players, new manager,

new coaching staff. He's been here a month. We've still having got any songs about any of these players. I really need to, you know, that's how new everything is. Niko got one today. It was the finale one. Yes. So the Fernandez product got one about him being magic. You know, Matias Fernandez Pardo. Okay. But you know, we can only we're starting beaten. We like to say we've got five points on the board. A winnable game up coming with a decent cup drawing midweek. Yeah. I think you've got to be positive with all the change we've had. And I don't think we, I don't think this is the final yester system, either it can't be. He hasn't been here long enough. So I'm hoping that there will be some evolution to it over the next couple of months, weeks or so. And then we will see a true representation of what we want to be. But yeah, it's a positive start considering the fact that we could have had just nothing when you consider the games we played and how before we were today. Yeah. I agree. I think it's when we looked at the fixtures at the start of the season, it was a hard first five games to come out with the first three with five points is great.

There are still some teetheum issues for short, but I think the positive is that we've seen the Yicell can look at the previous game and learn from that in the daped little bit. So the key will be when we get, when we progress through the month, what will our takeaways from this game and how do we build on that one? But you know, it's promising. We've still got players who are either A come back from injury B brand new and ham trained one week. And we've got players who are still young enough and we'll develop into squad. So yeah, lots to take away, lots to be happy about. And I just think the difference between now and last year is this would have been four nils to Bournemouth last year. A two no down we would have caved and it would be no over. So to have that change is really promising. 40 depression, 40 depression, Clarkson. The way West Coron goes at the moment is unsustainable. We have an XG of three and we've scored six. We've had six shots on target. We've scored all six. We have given away an XG of 5.5 and they've only scored four in the league that is. That is generally unsustainable if it carries on over the season. So we've either got to do one or

two things. We've either got to get better at being defensively solid, which we haven't been yet. I think we all need to take no account. Spheres are absolutely dreadful. Yes, it's hilarious, but we can't play them every week. The second thing to say is that we are not creating a whole host of top quality chances. We did quite a bit against Liverpool, West Cymist one just in front of the first post, etc. But we're not creating like really, really high quality chances. I can't think, but the Willock header that went past the post in the second half, I can't really remember us creating like a load of opportunities where you're like, oh, we're going to score here. We're definitely going to score here. So that's something we need to improve on. That will come with time and that will come with the system. One day I thought that was good about the days we didn't go to five at the back all of a sudden because we were level in the game. However, I do wonder if the next evolution of this system, if Niko Gonzalez does keep coming deep, Lewis Miley does keep coming deep and we can't play through the press, is it to go through it at the back and bring Fabian Cher and Fabian Cher can pass with both feet, can play balls over the top, the try and get people

past the press, is that the next step in the evolution of that? He didn't seem to want to do it today, totally fine. But at some point I imagine that is going to be one evolution. We go on, because Delech gets forwards so much down that right hand side that actually at times it negates the reason for a right winger because he's there. So yeah. Yeah, I think all that is is an option for us. I don't think it's the plan and I don't think it's going to be like the evolution necessarily that we're going to go into a much more defensive formation. I think we want to be scoring goals and doing better and we do have all these players that have been out like Asula is going to come back and that offers us another attacking option for Nandas Pardo, looks really lively and I think that's going to be that's going to bear some fruit for us this season. It is the tightening up of the back four that needs to happen. But I mean, what we had about a game today, but you know, good game, I know it's been a shape, but like, yeah. He hasn't played well against Evan Nielsen historically. He just something about playing against

a quick strike like that does not do most similarly with when Brian Brobby came on, for example, that big, quick physical strike, but weirdly, Hollandie quite likes, it's quite bizarre. And we just steps up to the sort of challenge of that, the sort of public challenge. I mean, he was brilliant at Marconisak, but allegedly when they were here, they were best mates. So like, maybe that was a bit of a raise. Evan Nielsen is a challenge, I think, for a lot of defenders and we don't say enough of them. What was difficult, I think, for him was if Evan Nielsen was on Chow, there was another short, quick, like, PC technical player right next to him in a clive or a Scott, who was saying right here, if the ball gets paid down right inside of you here, well, I'm barricay here for me. So he was, he was naively about that. I was dropping a bit deeper. The one where he played like, yeah, the hole in his foot in the second half, we let him roll underneath him. I think that was more concentration though. I think that's, I know, we need to get the ball forward quicker and he's looking for that next ball to get it out. Yeah, no, I think, I mean, 352 could be attacking, could be defensive, it can depend on which way. I guess, yeah, I guess you. But it also,

it also depends on what we are looking to do and what the opposition are looking to do. We can't keep lining up as 4231 because teams are going to watch what Bournemouth did here today and they're going to say, okay, we've seen now, if we press them deeper and deeper, that's going to be a problem for them. So we will have to slightly adopt that, be that personnel or tactic. The differences between this and that season is that I believe we can adopt it. I think we've got the right coaching stuff in. I think we've got the right players in to, we've got a lot of youth in the squad now. We're very much younger squad than we were six months ago and I think that we can make those adaptations to respond to how, oh, you saw it in game today that we made site tweaks and people on our players are just going to get more comfortable with each other. They're just going to get fit as the season, hopefully, obviously injuries notwithstanding, but I mean, like athletically, going to get fitter. They're going to be drilled. I think that the coaching staff really do know what their vision is and I think that they're quite good at communicating that. It does feel like

they're unified. So I do have faith that all of those things will come together. And the floor standard. Yeah, and the floor standard of the squad has been raised. Right. So like exactly. We may not have the same high ceiling players that we did at an earlier Bruno were caught in, but actually the weakest players who are getting on the pitch are better than the weakest players we've been in our season. And there's a, when you look at, if we keep playing as two in the midfield, we have five central midfielders who offer something a little bit different in there and you can mix them up and now, granted, we played two today who are almost identical and how they want to play, but that option is there. And then also we can, you know, when they are tiring, we've got two more to bring on and offer a bit more of an impact in them. Bambo hopefully will grow into that role as well. The worry is, I suppose, from that longevity in the future is we're desperately missing a suler. We're missing that pace up front, and there's talks that he's going to be out longer than the couple of weeks. And like, if that is indeed true and we're getting into October before we get back, that's a concern. There is a well-timed international break though after the whole game. Three weeks. Yeah. What a treat. So that's, I mean,

Denmark fans won't be happy with you. It seems very, very soon, obviously, in the season, but it's actually quite good in terms of just getting players back up to fitness and all of that stuff. Are you feeling optimistic? Yeah, I think I am. I think over time, we'll see, I said a debt more, he has a different base that he's used formations before with the players who've got now. I could quite happily see to Steve at all these points, to, you know, play the 4222 and then you have the ringback so high up on those midfielders drop back and you have all the pace in behind of those front four doing their own things. So I think we will see that with Pardo. It's a bit unknown about how he's going to play isn't it? So as he from the left, is he up front? Is he a striker? We'll find out because if a suler is out for longer, then, you know, we will need him to step up, but I think he's got the ability to do that. And we've got a couple of good games, come by, haven't we? So they are emly winnable, we're not playing Man City next week. So, we just want to go to Leeds. Leeds. Leeds. Leeds. And then, you know, impress and pose ourselves on them this time, like Bournemouth did to us today because I agree with you all. I think, Yastah will

adapt. I think you'll look at that and you'll go, yep, that's not up to you again. Yeah, and it's an away game. And as you rightly say, we are very, we're set up differently. Yeah, we have earned it was a record, perfect. And we will leave it there. The future is still very bright. It was a tricky game today, but we knew that there were going to be bumps in the road. And it's this as far as bumps in the road go, we've got a point out of it. And I'm okay with it. We've learned things. I think the coaching staff have learned things, the players have learned things. And hopefully we take that forward into the season. But I think it is still all looking pretty bright for Newcastle. We'll leave it there. Thank you so much for listening and are watching.
