Straight after Nick Hassel got through to the fourth round of the league cup. Lads, we'll get straight into it. It's not the most thrilling game of football, but Nick Hassel are unbeaten, intact, unbeaten, record intact. Still in the cup, still in all competitions, so we can win this season. I suppose the question though, are we concerned, did we get away with that a little bit or are you first or does it matter? Is it just about getting through? I think it was a potential banana skin, so the most important thing is to get through.

2:10As long as you need something to help the next round, well every single cup winning cliche going. I think we were not as good as I think we have been in the league. I think that's fair, but I think ultimately for 17 minutes, 75 minutes, we probably the only team that looked like actually winning. We were creating a chance, I think it was something like 14 shots, one on target in the first half. And then setting off, we seem to be the team that was going to be more like, it's got there a couple of breakaway chances, but in reality, that was all it was. I think we probably did control the game, it just wasn't a very good game of football. And maybe we got dragged down to their level, or maybe we weren't able to assert ourselves in the same way. However, some of the referee and decisions, I feel like we talk about that every single time. But some of the referee and decisions have some of that to be desired, but I think ultimately what you want to happen is you want to be at the end of 90 minutes,

3:12you want to be through, we're through one goal brilliant, okay, would it be nice to put two or three up and make us look better as an attacking force, but I wonder when is when it's... We're going to try and get some positive out of it. It's going to be hard because we haven't got to do the dog here with us for this podcast, which I'm struggling with mentally. The time and see, it started tonight, John, but none of that for us, proper English football, down at Millwall on a Tuesday night with one in the game. Did you enjoy it? I'm glad that was one. Yeah, we've played better games this season already in this early stage, but I think ultimately you want to get through, have no injuries. We've done that. I suppose, could it be a better performance, ideally, but I like the fact that... I know we'll talk about it later, but there was intent there in the line-up straight away that we're taking the competition seriously. And for me, that's a bit of that matter. We should be trying to win any competition that we're in, especially when we don't have Europe to contend with. There's no point crying about the

4:16fact we're not in the Champions League this year. There's only one way to turn that around, and that is to finish in the top four or five this year, but we should be trying to win competitions. Yeah, I mean, audio right. One of the Premier League's finest refs was the pause in this week. Doing everything to make it as difficult as possible first, because I think there's at least two genuine pen shots, maybe a third. And the game could have been put to bed in that respect. Donnie did mention the strong team selection. Very strong actually. Only three changes. And even then, they're players we want to see playing. It's not given the kids of an out. What did you make of that, Stephen? Intent or just trying to get some momentum going? I was quite surprised that he made it as strong as he did, because I think I said yesterday that I felt like he would make a number of changes. I was interested that Malik Chow is the only real change to the back five, especially as Louis Hall left the field. I think it was in the 90th minute on Saturday. And I was in the impression that was an injury, not cramp, but looked like he was in Jed because he hobbled up. He's got through the full 94 minutes tonight. So that's a positive sign.

5:17It's a defensive kept two clean sheets in London. If you want a positive sign, there you are. Two trips to London, two wins, two clean sheets. I think it was a really strong lineup. I think it was interesting that the manager was persisting with, well, it was a partnership. And once to give that as many opportunities to succeed as it possibly can do, I'm not sure necessarily that today that worked in the way that he intended it to. But having said that, I thought it was interesting that Gonzalez kept this place that Ramsay came into play next to him. I think that's like now he's played with, sorry, he was with Ramsay when we were trying to get back into the game towards the end of the game against Bournemouth. So he obviously sees a budding partnership there. I just don't think anybody, well, take a move he came in. I don't think he did anything to try on his face back. Fabian Shale was solid and did Fabian Shale ask things. I don't think anybody

6:17really put themselves forward to show that they were definitely going to take their opportunities because I don't think the performance was, I wasn't in invigorating performance, we thought this up to brilliant, but a bit like Ron Seale does exactly what it says on the tip of being the middle wall. We've won one nail. That's it. That'll do. And it's the thing is as well is like leads as six days away. So you can do that. You can only make two or three changes. I thought there might be a few more as Stephen alluded to, but it was good to see Tino get 45 minutes as well tonight. I think that was a good way of actually bringing them back in. Pardo, I think we have to remember, I mean, we were talking about this on the preview, Bain Patron, but he clearly hasn't had a lot football in preseason. So he can tell, I think a lot of the reason he's not involved yet is purely trying to build that up because I think I'm not saying it's quite good to the level of our former Swedish striker, but he hasn't played a lot in the last few weeks before he's come here. So there's opportunities to give these players minutes in building them back in and I thought

7:21he made the right changes today. I thought there would be more changes. Or do you and I were talking about whether or not you would have dropped botany instead of child because botany's fitness record is a lot more concerning and they were meant to be trying to keep them to fit. There's your there's your obvious one, but Malik Chow is also very important to us. He played in New York, Christmas, I'm out of football last season. So and share that aside, you know, he plays in the right to worthy of a game played very well, got a clean sheet. Yeah, I agree. You would like to see more changes, but also Millwall or Goodside, the top of the championship, like it wasn't going to be an easy game and you can't start pissing on with the team too much. I think there was some intent there that the, I mean, we know Jaisler's, he knows it's only domestic football this season. There's no reason not to give both cups everything you can. So it's about getting the balance, which is exactly what he said in his, is pretty much getting the balance right. I've been making a few changes here and there tweaking it, but also keeping the momentum going. I think performance wise you're right, none of the lads who get him, Murphy was pretty poor actually. The Willick and Whissa partnership for me isn't really working, but he does get the goal at the end as well. So it's, you know, is he justified on that alone?

8:24I think you're right, John Pardo is going to be a while before we start saying what he's actually capable of. The bigger questions for me are Ture and Bamber who are just on featuring so far this season and you think a league cup third Van Tai against the lower division team would be the tiny. Give them a bit more. Ture was given the nod against West Brom and I think it's fair to say although he was credited with the goal, he didn't play it particularly well. And you know, I've not seen enough of a large Bamber at all like, no one's sharpies. Well, that's the point, isn't it? You know, like we asked French journalists and they didn't know. So we haven't seen enough of him. And really, I suppose they're the decisions that the manager's got to make. He's got to look at who's on the trade and field and who's up to it. And if it's going to take a bit longer to bed in some of these labs, then you know, that's been that's part of the risky take with the transfer strategy that we have. And when it pays off, it pays off well, but when it doesn't, you know, it is going to take a bit more time and we're going to have to show a little bit more patience around that. I think if we score earlier and take control of the

9:29game earlier, then we maybe see more changes and put people from the bench. Yeah. And the fact that you have to call for in a bit of commas, the big guns in a Langan Prado, like to me the first change out in that show, like after half time, because I know you know, came on at half time. But those two were called for because the fact that this game situation and the fact that we hadn't got the goal. If we have got the goal, maybe you do see a touring, maybe you do see Stura, a bit earlier, rather than in the 90th minute when he came on. I think the manager probably wants to give players who've arrived later in the window and opportunity better in as well. I mean, we're saying our Prado didn't have much of a season, doesn't pay much for Paul, but like Gonzalez wasn't really involved at Cityano who's sitting on the bench and stuff the game before, but he didn't, wasn't involved with West Brom. He then came straight in the team for Spares. He's staying in the team for Bournemouth and then he's put it so, you know, he's almost reaching on dropable status after like a week and a half. It's interesting that some of the other players aren't at that same stage.

10:29It does worry me about Turey. He looked so, I don't want to say the loss, that's maybe unfair. But he looks so uncomfortable with what his role was in that team. That does worry me a little bit. And the fact that the manager had a warmed up ready to come on against Bournemouth and then said, actually no, and pivoted to bring team in one for Lewis Hall. He's then not had really, well that's it. He's only had 45 minutes of football for us so far this season. So, and he's going to go in in nationality, do you think, in a couple of weeks time, Proud is going to go in nationality, do you think, with Belgium in a couple of weeks time. So they're probably going to get more football on the belt. Are these fashion gags? You keep calling Proud, are you making Proud? Proud, Proud, Proud, Proud, Proud. No, on the fashion gags. On the bout your river island gear. And I think that's, I think those two possibly wouldn't, I don't think you would have wanted to use a lango unless you absolutely had to. And he felt they had to. I agree. We have, I thought Jacob Murphy was really poor. And we just, we regarded it a comment known at the time,

11:34his pace seems to have disappeared, which is the one thing you could rely on Jacob Murphy for. There's a couple of times where he had the opportunity to get beyond the fall back and he just, he didn't have it and to get beyond them. So that's a bit of a worry. But actually, Alanga came on and, although he made some poor decisions, he actually looked like he was positively contributing the sides. That's a positive step, I suppose. I think the team selection was as strong as he thought he could get out. I think you're right. Alanga and Chau are the two, and Miley is being protected. He's not drawn. Yeah. So those three players have been protected, seeing Miley come on in the game shows that he's, he's still trying to figure out this team. He obviously watches these lads and training and that's indicative of who he's picking. And the fact that Tina has come back in the training and fun on stuff back in the team, which suggests he's still that great player and I'd imagine he impresses in training. He's gone, oh yeah, I'll get you in the team. Whereas he's maybe thinking with, with the lads, we've just mentioned, touring, bam, brim, particular. These lads need more work. They're not ready for these kinds of games. So what's the point of using them against Milwal, when they're not going to be immediately useful to me in other games, whereas Tina is going to be needed. I think, you know, Lewis Hall's always a bit of an injury risk that it just played a lot of

12:36football like he's come straight in. He did look a bit, a bit tired against Bournemouth, which is mental, a three games, but he wasn't quite at the same level. He'd been the first three games. So having that option of Tina getting them back for his is a big thing, whereas I think at the minute, we don't, we need to array bonds to start the season well. We've got other options and part of his coming as well. So he's got, he's got, he doesn't, he can take that one slowly, and I don't think we need to be worried necessarily. I agree the West Bromformance was a bit concerned, but that that's someone who's going to have to adapt English football and led you down even more so like you see, he's barely played any actual football. So he's one for the future, and I don't think we need to worry about too much about those two players and the fact that he didn't play, but the overall performance, I think, I, you might have summed it up quite well. It was, it was edgy. It probably could have put the game to bed early, but it was also not great. You know, I thought I thought it was a hard watch at times. We'll let Millwall couldn't really get shots off certainly in the first half. There was one shot on target, flashed up at a half time. I can't remember who took it, and I certainly don't remember it being a shot that they keep out to do anything with. We had

13:38umpteen corners all over hate or under hate. Didn't really make much of it. It was anything about the concern, the lads, or does it really not matter because it's just about getting through. It's about getting through, isn't it? I mean, don't go as wrong. I'd love us to perform perfectly every game, but I think after we've been more realistic that, you know, we're not going to be 100% on form every single time. Yeah, there was there was elements. I'd never at any point tonight was I did, I think we were under severe risk of going out. I think there was a point where, I mean, you said this when we were watching it all, you were actually, you felt, if they scored, actually, a week and a get back into it. But I just, I think they had fleeting chances, whereas I feel like I feel like when we had the ball and we were at possession, we were doing something with it. We, you know, we looked a bit, I think the second half was a lot worse than the first half in terms of the performance. I thought we looked much more convinced than first half, as I say, even though we only had the one shot on target, none of us can remember, you know, that did look better. But yeah, I think on the balance, I think we probably deserve to go through. You're a lot more

14:39confident than me, John, because when that lad hit the post just before we scored, when he got away from Tino, or Tino kicked the ball up and it hit his face in the fell and from the bottom. Yeah, I don't like you, but he gets unlucky because actually he's not very far away from putting them on the look, which is probably then the winner. Like, and actually, as it happened to team to live in us up to, they were so devastated that hit the post and came back out. We probably catch them on the break and they were all putting a ball across the box and Joe Willick took it away. But even the goals are a bit scrappy. Like, I mean, I know Joe will have picked it up, but it hit the middle, walk in front of him and sends it further into the corner, so it's away from the goalkeeper. Yeah, it was a scrap, not on the way that I expected, not in terms of like their physical, but you know, towards the end of the game, they were just, I think, was 20 minutes to go. We were saying, well, this is classic champion, should be, they're just going to hunt a little bit long now and see if they get a chance. And we stuck to our task, we kept trying to move the ball on the deck. I think that is quite important because we're clearly or still getting used to the manager. I mean, that's not forget the manager has actually only been in post for like what six weeks is it?

15:42So maybe not even that. So the reality is that he's trying to embed his ideas and his philosophies in and that's why players sometimes come in, people like Miley coming on, it's like, right, okay, go and try that thing that we've discussed, whatever. I think that obviously is part of it. Like that corner that Lewis Hall took that was clearly rehearsed, but the lads forgot what he was meant to do because he kicks it to the edge of the box along the deck and no one goes to it and he's like, he's pointing to the bench as I have to say, we literally just talked about this. Why aren't you doing it? So there's obviously new ideas being implemented, like you say, that they're not quite bedding in. So he's using these games, which he would normally used to rotate your team to to keep working on things, which is absolutely his right, like you say, because it's been here four or five weeks. There are some things I think you mentioned earlier already that I am a bit more concerned about that the Willick and Whisser partnership for me isn't really doing it. They don't pass to each other. They don't seem to be in sync. And I get that they both have something off of Whisser's. I thought it was very busy again tonight that I was more than happy with the performance, but they're not really getting the end of anything. And Willick himself, they don't seem to be in sync,

16:43and I know that Willick is basically just replacing a solo in that partnership and Whisser moves forward and that when a solo's fit, it'll be the other way around. But I don't know, I'm not convinced that this is working particularly well. I try Ramsey there personally. I'm going to keep banging this drum. I know we keep insisting on playing him as a double pivot, but I think Ramsey's got the ability to play that position and play it well. And he's very much more attack and minded. He moves the ball forward quite well. He showed in his previous club at Villa that he's capable of getting some good goals, obviously, in the scoring of the weekend. But I think I'd give him that opportunity. Had a Willick, I don't see any reason why not to, especially when you've got, you could play a stir in, you know, stir or Miley or Gonzalo as a double pivot. You know, there's some depth there, so that gives you the opportunity to utilise Ramsey further forward, I think. I think Willick is keeping the seat warm for when a solo or pardo is fit. It seems harsh

17:47when Joe Willick's got the winner tonight to kind of, well, but it's the second game in a row, where I felt, I might even be the third game in a row, where I felt that he started the game and he's had very, very little impact on the game against Liverpool when he came on in the room, as that he was going to be potentially sold. Was it 17 million or something to Turkey or whatever. There was a real firing and they get something. He was coming off the bench. He was, I bet like people say that Harvey Barnes used to be as an impact, so like much more in the game. You seem to get a little bit lost sometimes in the way the game is and a times he was the highest player and Willick was back into the 10 and then they were switching back round again and I wasn't sure whether that was intentional or whether Willick was just like, I'm not pressing back on that. But to give Willick credit, I think that is intentional because that's what he wants, a solo in this and Willick to do. So if he's filling in, he's not doing a terrible job of trying to do the same role, I just think, yeah, they don't seem to be in sync. I mean, I keep saying they don't pass each other. Obviously the goal against Liverpool was very much like the only time I've seen

18:48them to pass to each other in a way beautifully. But even then that's quite a fortunate goal and reflectionally, you know, the fact that they both managed to run 40 yards each with the ball and get it in the net. That's not going to happen very often. Maybe I'm being harsh and they also, I mean, especially in the first half, we've already talked about Murphy, but everything came around the left. It was all down Barnes's side. There's some great balls spread out there to share. Shades of five years ago, share a ping and 50 odd balls that Barnes is bringing down with Lewis Hall on the overlap, but we didn't really have that outlet on the right hand side today. Maybe the Mill Wall fullback was just dead good. You did team quite athletic. Murphy was shite. And that might sound harsh because Murphy's been a great servant, but if they were getting offers of £10, £15 million, it was being widely reported. I still can't get my head right why you don't take that money. And I've been a big advocate of actually, you need players like Jacob Murphy who can come in and do a job and you don't have to pay them a big salary. But if you're getting offered kind of what you paid for them nine years ago,

19:51that was the right time to sell them. And we're not seeing the impact from them now. Does that leave a slightly weaker in the squad possibly, but actually, if that's what we're going to get is a contribution from Murphy on a regular basis. I know occasionally you can put in a really good cross or score the occasional good goal, but we're not going to see the same productivity that was sold from him, like even last season or the year before for me. I think the reason why we kept Jacob Murphy is for the trusting and culture not for visibility on the football pitch. I think Dan Boone is not around the group at the moment. He's injured. Who is the only holdover really then from the leadership group last season? It's Jacob Murphy. I also think there's an element of he's probably not on massive money. He's a commenter last year of his contract. If we sell him for 15 million pounds, do we, did we have adequate time or finance to be able to do a deal together? I mean, appears from what stuff has come out of the past few days that if we hadn't got all the

20:52money out on loan, we weren't signing part of. Obviously that is a bit of financial struggling going on to try and keep those deals taken over. I think that that probably did have quite a good game, but I also think how many times he played with Deaditch, he maybe had a light from the start, well he had 45 minutes or whatever against West Brom of doing it, and then Alanga came on. He's probably had a couple of substitutes appear in the pit with Deaditch, but then he has 45 minutes a night and then it's Tino and then Tino, I'm playing together for ages. I think it's probably a bit of a learning care for him. I would also say that he probably does more graft back towards his own goal than Alanga does. Therefore, sometimes there's an element of him not being able to get up and down the line. I agree. I don't think he's very good tonight. I think we will struggle if he has to start a run of Premier League games, great chances down the way outside, but maybe that's something for the

21:52mantra that he's brought about. Can Tino go in as a right-sided winger, or can Deaditch push forward and Tino set back forward? We see that development from Turo where he can... That's something we didn't see tonight. The first three games, four games, three games. I'll include Bournemouth, but it didn't really work against Bournemouth. The fullbacks were so high. Hall and Deaditch, first three games were basically the outlet. Didn't really see that tonight. There was a lot more of a narrower formation. There weren't overlap in as much. It was a bit more controlled, a bit less. Maybe that was a... It was more of a right playing a strong team, but don't overdo it, ladds. Maybe there's an element of that. Just be patient. We'll get the goals kind of thing. It was a very different kind of game for me to deal with. He never really had a fullback going ahead on at any point. Maybe we're being harsh. He didn't impact the game tonight. He's not played a lot of football so far this season. He is getting the other side of 30. And I agree, actually, in terms of... I'd say the offer was 12 to 15 million for him. For what you get for finishing two or three places, higher in the Premier League,

22:55that's basically that covered. It's not money in the modern Premier League. To be perfectly honest, you don't overland it as an explosive player. He's one hamstring pop away from you needing a lot of our player. And if we didn't have anyone to replace him, if you start really... that the squad's just not not capable. And you won't be on high wages. It's good lad to have run the play. He's supporting Castle. He's being here through the whole PIF era. And he even played under Steve Bruce. He knows the club in second. I have no palms with them being part of the squad. I just think, like you say, he's not a first-team starter, a regular like Dan Burn this season. He can contribute, but he probably needs to try and do a bit more in the chances he gets. Tastimonial, I suppose, as well, for the end of the season. I mean, but that kind of thing is, I think, is actually quite important in the character of the squad. Fabian shares only got a one-year extension. So realistically, in the summer, it could be share-leaving, Murphy-Leven, Bern. Maybe even. He'd probably get a new contact, I would imagine.

23:59But on the flip side, it's the same as, like, Trippie and Leven, Crafting and Column Wilson and Leven, etc. Those situations sometimes have to occur because you have to regenerate and move people on. And you're right, I had like 50 million pound now, I'll get to nothing, and the primary league really does it. Sean Longstaff went the lead for 12 million quid because there's one year left in the contract and he was like, look, if you want to get some money from me, I should go now. I don't necessarily have a problem with the club keeping a hold of him and using him in cup games against championship opposition, whatever. I think he'll struggle to get many primary league minutes, but at the same time, like, you know, he's done enough like for us as a player, like, that he's in the opportunity to be able to not ride off the suns. No, but the situation behind his own terms, I suppose, I suppose. Yeah, Leven, Leven, the middle of the match, yeah. Well, yeah. But he has to. But he has to. But he has to. It is funny, though, despite all the business we got done in the summer, where we're quite well stacked in midfield, but we're not stacked on the wings. We've basically

25:01got four wingers, like, it's not a position we're blessed with options for. Although, Pato kept going out to the left hand side and Pato and kept coming in the middle. Like, I mean, I still think hobby ones is the most chemical finish we've got in terms of chances, but they could create it from, like, I think he's probably the most natural finisher, but but that's not something to get hung up on. But I agree, you know, the thing about two raid, could he play left or right? Well, I was under impressionably calm play both sides, but we heard that by hobby ones before. Well, the thing I would say is the manager trust clearly doesn't think he's ready. Yeah. And maybe that's another reason that I can't go on. And maybe if two raid comes in against West Brom, that's an absolute scream of a game. Looks the real deal. Maybe they do move check him if you're the, you know, let's move on. I forgot. It's probably as good a start as you go to herd for. I think when you look at the fictionalist, you'd have said get five points in the board. You'd be happy with that. Get through the cup. You'd be happy with that, especially with an away tie and land into a decent side. Are we still riding away or are we starting to see, do you think when I'll get in the point where it's less new manager bouncer now, we need to start seeing how this, this, I think the momentum settling a little bit. I don't think we're on that wave. I think it started to plateau slightly and that's natural, but it's still exciting. It's a fan. I think it goes back to that hole, the unknown of the season and where's it going to go and it's quite nice not to know where you're going to finish. I think we've all seen enough to be, well, we're not going to be in a relegation battle. I feel like I've seen

28:12enough where the road he has on heart is another matter, isn't it? But no, but we should absolutely be one of those teams that's trying to get into Europe next year from what I've seen so far and the way that we're playing. I've said it a couple of times, you walk away from St James's Park and you think, actually, you don't mind going and watching that every week. If we can maintain that, then for me, that should be enough for us to get the points that we need to finish where we want to finish. What are you less convinced that we get into going? I wasn't convinced that we get into. I thought, I've got serious concerns about how we adapt our midfield spaces and the gap between the number 10 and the two. He's in two sixes because he's gone of two sixes obviously, but the two people at the base in midfields call the double pivot. That's not called a double pivot. People that sort of horrendous phrase are just in line to exist. Anyway, the two who play at the base in midfield and they do see big gaps and then they do seem to be issues that when we are attacking and you've mentioned it that our fullbacks get really high, it does leave Chelm-Votman

29:14majorly exposed when we lose the ball, which is a bit of a concern. My biggest concern and tonight was slightly different. We did create lots of shooting opportunities, as far as it's shopping, shooting opportunities. We didn't get many of them on target. That's probably more that's going to come with time that we're going to get better in front of the old such a such a mill wall, we're quite setting defensively to stop us, like playing them on the count there. At the same time, I would like just to see us develop a bit more of a different attacking threat. I feel like we still are best playing on the count, that's fine, I don't have a problem with that, but a bit like Bournemouth on Saturday, when teams come in and are prepared to have a plan for you, how do we adapt that plan? Tonight it was 4-2-3, one again, fine, no problem, that formation, chain no problem. But can we start to see a different plan of how we get the different players involved, how we manage to shift the player, does one of those midfielders become a

30:17number eight rather than a base midfield? Do we do we could start to adapt that? We are, in my opinion, based on what's the night, we're not very good at attacking set pieces, the two non penalties apart. Or defensive. But I was about to say we also seem to be really poor at defending set pieces again. So we have got two goals from Corners, so far. Yeah, we have, yeah, but I just think there's obviously still an evolution going on. I don't think this is the quest of a wave. I think this is the players have been g'd up, new players have come in. They feel like they've got a lot to prove. Everyone's got a bit excitement about it, everyone's and there's going to be times when we ride like a few results, few good results, there's going to be bumps in the road, like there are. And I thought tonight was going to be one of those bumps in the road. I genuinely did, even despite the issues that Milwell might have with like squad selection, etc, etc. I thought tonight was going to be difficult. I don't think many people thought it'd be a one-nil win with an 88, 89th minute winner. I think people thought we were going to give them a bit of a hiding. Like it wasn't that game at all. And my concern is that I think it was 14

31:24shots one on target a half time. I haven't seen the full-time start. But we weren't creating brilliant opportunities in those 14 now. You know, sometimes that happens and you know, it can happen in games. My concern is that how long does that continue? And can we get, I think Pardo getting in the team will make a massive difference. Yeah. Because he already looks like he's an absolute live where he fits the high-paced tempo and clearly he has been brought in to be a bit of an awesome person. The opposition viewers well talked about Pardo and said that essentially he watched a lot of Newcastle as well. And he basically said like he is an absolutely ugly golden replacement, which is interesting really given the fact that we've already got Holly Barnes on that left-hand side. But it can't wait in the middle as well. It's probably the most important play to replace because he can create goals that are nothing. And I know Barnes did that exactly that thing on Saturday when we were 2-0 down. But a player who's explosive and those things, you know, I expect things is what we really, really have a lack of now. We don't have any players that can do that. And that's not just to save us a Barnes. Barnes is

32:28the best finish of the club and he will always put goals away. And you know, you was putting lucky tonight. I thought he was, he was our best option in that first half. And again, everything that had to go through him didn't quite come down from him. Got one decent shot off. Maybe he was the shot on target. I can't remember. He plays one over. But he was busy and I think Barnes has owned the right to stay in the team and it's been nice to see him get a run of games where he's not just being deemed a super-sub just despite this best performance as being off the bench at West From. I just, yeah, I agree. I think we're lacking cutting edge. We have scored, I think, our XG's being quite low in all the games were scored pretty much all the chances when taking our chances as great. But we're not creating loads more beyond what the goals you scored. And we've conceded two goals in every home game so far. So there are things we need to sort out. It's not all rosy. Despite the fact that on paper, it's a great start of the season, you know, Unbeaten through the cup, two clean sheets in London, which is always a very tricky thing to do. But there's work to do. And I'm not worried.

33:29I just, and I've no doubt there's no way Yisler's resting on his laurels or anything like that. He's still trying to work out how to fix these problems and how to make us better. But it's not the finished article yet, no way. Is this not a hallmark of what Yisler said, or what we've been told with Iso though, that it is efficient football? So this idea that actually you create those chances, you get the ball at the pitch as quickly as you can. And then, you know, and maybe you don't have as many chances, but you take them better. No, it's not sustainable. No way. No way. I can't be. If he's created a system where in the league, you can have six shots on target and score six goals. The macgames are dead. That's unbelievable. I mean, that's that's macgam football that. Like I think we've got a bit bit with with our with our chance conversion. And I think we have played well. You know, it's not like we haven't been any of these games. It's not like we've been the difference of the macgames is they get battered for 90 minutes and score their one chance, whereas that that's not been happening. It's been very cagey games where we've just taken our chances when we need to. But if you look at the league games, like Liverpool, we probably should win that game.

34:31Spurs, we absolutely deserve to win the game. Born with the show character, get back into the game and get a point. So like, you know, there's a lot of positives there. Yeah, no, I think leads will be a really interesting game because they've been they've got some good results. And they've been forest, you've got to draw Brentford, but they're they're bubbling around and they seem to have a bit of optimism that they might have the kind of season that are bright and and a born with hard last season. It will be interesting to see where we are against them because Elin Road last season was one of the worst 90 minutes of football. I've ever had to watch. And I think probably we will get a bit of you where we are when we're playing teams like that. Yeah, the whole game at home, I'm going to part one side for a moment because I feel like expectation will be that we will just beat whole home. They've looked pretty good. Yeah, they have looked pretty good. I think going to Elin Road, that's a big test for this team because we can't sit off and hope that they like allow us to the ball or whatever like we're going to have to come up with the plan to

35:35actually go at them. So that'll be interesting to see. I think the unbeaten run, well, it's not the end of the world if we lose any of these games, you know, no one's going to suddenly like lose their shit about it. I think the unbeaten run has the potential to set us up. So I think it's important that we somehow manage to preserve that and getting through tonight, getting through Sunday the way we did yesterday is important for the optics of an unbeaten run for a new manager and a new set of players because I think everyone's got concerns about this new young group and what happens when we start to lose games. The longer we can put that off, the better as far as I'm going to say, the confidence will breed itself and players will just play themselves in a form. I think we've got some good results with decent performances, but I don't think there's many players in that team other than Wissor and Alanga that you'd say are in form. You know, I think most of those players, especially ones that are already here, can play better. You know, I think Bobman and Charles being pretty reliable and Lewis Hall has been pretty much ever consistent, but I think there's more to come from most of our squad. So the fact that we've got ourselves here after five games unbeaten, da da da da. As long as that's not it, I'm really optimistic still.

36:38I think, I think, Bons has been playing well. He's the one I'd maybe add. I know we've got the two against Wissor and he also scored against, obviously, Bormath on Saturday. And he kind of has made that left-sided slot his own when there were question marks about whether he would, so the season or would too rate come in and kind of replace him. The only other thing I would say is that, like I said before, I think Nico Gonzalez has potentially made himself into an almost undropable kind of situation in that. And that made field situation. The thing is, he's very different from Bruno. And that Bruno was all action, all emotion, all over the place. Gonzalez isn't like that. He's measured and he patience. He tries to calm people down. Even when two know down on Saturday, he was trying to calm people down to him, to move the boards, move the ball. So, I think these players are still learning how to play with each other. I agree. I think Wissor and Lang have a good start with the season. I think Wissor would like

37:39to cut more goals just to kind of feel the confidence continuing. I know he scored a good goal to play, but I think he'd want to continue that on. So, yeah, there's lots of things to look at. That are good for sure. I just think we've been also been a bit lucky and that Dettich came in, hit the ground running. Brilliant. Gonzalez came in, hit the ground running. Brilliant. A lot of the players we've signed seem to be hits at the moment. And we've said it repeatedly that when you buy this many players, you need them to be hit because you can't afford for another summer like signing five players and three of them not really being ready to play in the first team. Yeah, it's funny, Sean Stern, particularly as they're like, I thought he's very unlucky to come out the team, but you can see why Gonzalez is a great player. And we needed some class and experience in this kind of very inexperienced team. Totally. And I think it's a good thing for Sean Stern. He'll probably be frustrated to have lost his place having done nothing wrong. He's played very well and Tony come on at the end today. I think we talked about it. It's like

38:39probably don't need a player who's going to come on and take risks when he've already got the game sewn up and the Miley sub makes more sense just to show up and see out the game. Stern come around at the end. It's good for him that it's managed to still give him an opportunity, but I think it's also good for me. So in the 18, he's got plenty of time to take his time, rather than exactly what we did with Lewis Miley two years ago, which has played the latter at 17 until he couldn't play anymore, basically like you ran him into the ground and probably knocked back his confidence for a bit because it took him a long time to bring that back on. Maybe he's on leg, is that what he's doing? Well, yeah, we did maybe, maybe, Hamlet has developed another. I just think, he can be treated with caution. We know he's good. We know he's got talent. And I don't think it's a reflection on his performances that he's lost his place in the team in Nico Gonzalez because he's fucking brilliant. And that's a player that you're going to build your team round, doesn't it? Yeah, I think he is going to be the fourth come of this because at 2.0, Marie Bill, whatever. I think maybe we'll only get two, three seasons with him and our team,

39:42because by the time this team develops around him, he's probably going to start thinking, okay, like I've rebuilt my reputation and such, etc. If it goes on to achieve the things that he can't do, I also think that the players who we've got, Lewis Miley, Sean Stewart, etc., they will be better players for playing with Nico Gonzalez. Definitely. He's an absolute class act Nico. And if there's any player, I don't care how good you are just to come in and just like effortlessly kind of take that position. He does, he's a class of both, I think, what we've got. And as you say, Sturz done nothing wrong and Miley's done little wrong so far this season. So the fact that, you know, he's first name on the team sheet, isn't he? It's fantastic that we've managed to bring him in and a drop into the club. One final gripe before we wrap up tonight. Our corners. Why are we so bad? We haven't taken a good corner for about 12, 18 months. We used to be so good at set pieces and now we've seen a rotate like Lewis Hall tends to invariably take them on one side,

40:42but we'd go through Miley's been taking them away. Do you not say we're just scored from two? We did score from two, but they were kind of like they weren't direct from corners. So kind of there was the volume out of flip down. Yeah, but we are a threat, but our corner take, we had about 15 corners in this game and most of them were just chocked out of the way. Yeah, it's interesting. I was looking at that Millwall team and they seem to be about five of them with the same height as Valtemar, or maybe they're not team. I think it's interesting that we're trying different things and that not every set piece is the same. I think they obviously look at different things, but what we've got to remember is other teams are then setting up their defenders for what if they do this, we'll do that, etc. I'm more concerned by a defending of set pieces than I am of our attacking of set pieces, because I think there's occasions where we're getting very lucky with some of our defending from set pieces. That's not to say there's that's not necessarily criticism of the players or whatever, but I think it's possibly we are trying to learn so much, so quickly, that there are going to be things that slide and that might be set pieces at the moment. But I think if

41:47you're going to take the improvement path that we want to, then yes, set pieces have to get better both attacking and defensively. I also think, and I don't know, because I can't, even in my seat at the James, as I'm not close enough to people here, but we've got at least two new guys in this back five. We didn't have the captain in today, so shares play them most of them for the very first time. There's suddenly a system of like, okay, well, what am I doing? Because Sharon botman played together loads, yes, sure. And she had never played with that, as far as I know. And then never, hadn't played with team of rages as well, so you're running that position where it's like, okay, we're relearning different parts of it in a new system. I think that probably does play part, but then a bit like the midfielders learning when to drop deep and when not to drop deep, we didn't see as much of Gonzalez as a third cent or half today, which we saw lots of on Saturday, when he was dropping in to try and get the ball to try and break the press. We didn't see very much of that, because we were playing a different type of ball. And I suppose that's a positive sign is that we are evolving, just there's probably so much to concentrate on

42:48that unfortunately say they can't pick all your gripes up at once. And I think in terms of the set pieces, I mean, this is one of the advantages of you got a new manager of not playing in Europe, isn't it? That you're going to get more, you know, you used to say about the former manager, you know, Monday to Friday manager and all of that. But if you've got that time on the train and feel that put these ideas into place over the season, we will see that improvement and hopefully if we're in Europe next year, you're already in the position where you've embedded a lot of that. Yeah, time on the train ground for sure, but I think we just see me on knee-bong games to really know what we're trying to do. I think that it's still such early days, and like you said, we've played against quite a few different types of teams and born with the first team that comes in the same way as James Park and put us in a different situation. The two championship teams have played quite similarly, they're quite physical, quite difficult, quite difficult to break down and we've come through both those games, you know, positively, spurs and Liverpool are a bit more unique, those games are more open and actually suited us, suited a counter-attack game. So we haven't learned lots of different things without much of a sample size for any of the stuff we've had to do so far. So yeah, it's all quite positive for me.

43:49I'm excited. Through the fourth round, obviously, the time recording, which is straight after the game, but don't know who our opponents are on the next round yet, we'll find that. Is the draw this week even? I think we tour tonight, probably, but... All right. So, what was it next week of the... Well, I don't know, it's all, yeah, probably will be next week.
