1:01Game 1 for the Oklahoma Centres is here and there are some lofty expectations. You are a Lockdown Sooners, your daily podcast on the Oklahoma Sooners. We've got a couple of special guests coming in on today's bonus show, Tyler McCommer's from K-Ref, the Rush host, as well as Colton Sully from the Oklahoma. We're going to talk about expectations going into this U-Tep game for both. Breakout Canada. We're going to talk about the upcoming season of the Oklahoma Centres. We're going to talk about the upcoming season of the Oklahoma Centres. We're going to talk about expectations going into this U-Tep game for both. Breakout Canada is that they want to see actually step up as well as maybe a couple of a little bit of intel about players and how they've been performing in practice.

2:03So let's jump right into the first one. Here's Tyler McCommer's host of the Rush over on K-Ref. All right, we got a special guest for you all today. We got Tyler McCommer's head, the host over there at the Rush on K-Ref. What's going on, Tyler? Game week, dude. We're just talking about it off camera. We need it bad. Bad. Call us football needs games. Bad. We need it. Desperately, we stopped talking about lawyers and I'll get a little emotional because I'm thinking about the fact that it's football time. But no, yes. This week, Friday night, we finally get some ball. Tyler, I've been listening to you talk about the Sooners for the last couple of weeks. I know you're excited like myself and John going into this game, though. As we get closer and closer, my expectations have kind of adjusted. What are your expectations of this team playing against UTEP on Friday? My expectation is that against probably the worst opponent that you're going to see all year long, we're going to see something that we haven't seen in recent openers, which

3:08is we walk out Friday night and we say, you know what? They still have to prove it. But I feel okay about the run game and what the offensive line looked like against an opponent like that because against Illinois State in temple the year before that, it's just, okay, OU won by a decent margin, but something just didn't feel right there. Something didn't feel right with the offense. I feel like they should just line up and be able to roll over Illinois State and then feel like they were able to do that as much as you would think last year. So it's just that. I think there's going to be a real commitment to that. Well, obviously find out who the five are starting on the offensive line on Friday. Right. But look, do I think they're going to hit on big plays down the field? I do. Do I think titanium, trail hairs are going to have a big day? Absolutely. But more than anything, what I can't wait to see and what I expect is with Lloyd Avant and Xavier Robinson and Jonathan Hatten, whoever is in it running back, they're going to be able to run the ball consistently whenever they want to and you'll walk out and say,

4:09well, the rushing yards were the rushing yards and there was a lot there, but it was pretty evident. Oh, you could run the ball whenever they wanted to tonight. I want to see that night. Expect to see that. I'm in the exact same boat. The last time we played YouTube, which was Brent Vennelville's first season, we finished the game with 259 rushing yards and that was the starting point for the Eric Gray 1000 yard season. I'm still eating crow on that truth, be told, because I have I doubted Gray. There was nothing to get to him, but he just never showed me or made me feel like he was going to put up the numbers. He ended up putting up in 2022. So this game to me, as you mentioned, we should be able to go out there and run it down their throat. I want to see similar to you, the practice that they said they've been putting in, go run through somebody's face. That is the thing that I expect as well. So when you look at that expectation in the run game, how many yards do you think they should be able to get? I'm kind of looking at 2022 saying 259.

5:10We should get again. Yeah, I think if they want to rush for 250, they I think they should want to rush for 250 and that's kind of right around that number. You know, yards per carry average is going to be important to me as well as explosive place. You know, like when I say run the ball, I'm not just talking about the offensive line gets a great push and opens up a hole and Lloyd of all gets nine yards because that's what's blocked out. I'm not putting all of this on the offensive line. I'm also putting a lot of this on the running backs because you just haven't seen individual great plays by running backs for you. The past couple of years in the SEC. Now, not that there's always been a ton there in the run game, but I want to see someone get to the second level and see somebody miss, you know, see, see someone makes somebody miss or run through their face mass. You know, it's just a complete run game approach where they're getting what's blocked up there. But man, if it's Jonathan Hatton on a safety from you tip, he's making that guy pays, making that guy look foolish a little bit.

6:12So it's the overall run game 250. It'd probably be my number, man. That's a good number to I'm right there in that same range. 250 feels like the minimum for a game like this. And like you said, we don't want the grind the clock running only. We need that 65 yard rush that maybe the dude got a lucky angle and got a more. He takes it to the house. 45 yard run those explosive plays the thing we couldn't do the last couple of years. Yeah, that's going to be similarly critical for us to I guess make it look like how this season goes the way that we hope. So outside of the run game, what do you feel like would be a good indicator for you that? Oh, this team should repeat what they did last season from this game. Just in terms of just overall offense. What they should be. Yeah, just offense defense. Honestly, either one at this because let me let me kind of set the stage for you where my mind has been going lately with this team is, okay, this is probably the best roster

7:12Brent Vinnables has had hands down and he's even kind of set that in ways and set it in a way to not throw too much shade at the former players, right? He's he's been very tactful of the way he said it. But everyone's basically saying this is his best roster and it's the most experienced roster. 40 something players, 43 players out of the 70 and the 2D, third, fourth and fifth year. So you've got a bunch of old people on your roster, which is critical. So the question is what about this team will show you that, oh, this is definitely a contender. And that's where my mind is, I need to see the defense. Give us some shutouts stuff like what is it? What will be a good indicator for this game to tell you say, you know what? It might be a contender. No, exactly that the defense because here's what I had heard about training camp is, hey, the offense is trying to get better, but they've also got some pieces. You know, Trill Harris wasn't necessarily there during the spring. Parker Livingston wasn't necessarily there during the spring.

8:14So there's still in some ways trying to get acclimated, you know, trying to find some continuity. So the offense may be trying to find itself early in training camp, but this defense, with all these guys back, I mean, they rolled in a training camp ready to go, dude. I mean already working as a unit that 11 might be the best starting 11 in the country on defense. So yeah, exactly that, man, like come out and just dominate and really just to highlight a couple of things on the defense. One, and I think this is going to happen because I think it's the biggest mismatch on the field, but to your question, it needs to happen. That OU D line against UTIPS offensive line. UTIPS starting a red shirt freshman at left tackle, buddy. Buckle up, pal. It's going to be a, I don't care if it's Taylor wine or Danny or PJ, whoever it is, it should be a, it should be a long night for that guy, right? So I need to see the defensive line come out, stop the run, get after the quarterback, dominate. And honestly, Jay, like as great as this defense was last year, and it was the reason why

9:18this team made it to the college football playoff last year. There's only a couple of things that you can complain about with this defense from a year ago. And they couldn't take the ball away early on in the season. I mean, how many games did we have to see for you to get a turnover? Dude, give me a couple of turnovers on Friday night, right? Let's not wait for five, six games like it was last year. D line domination gets them takeaways would be my, my, my two big things. I like that. And it's funny enough, I guess the biggest question for me in that challenge for them is how fast can we make it to where they have to throw the ball nonstop to where you can get those like interceptions? Cause fumbles, I could, we've been pretty good with the peanut punch. We've been good with the strip, especially the strip sack. We've been solid at those. But how fast we can force you to have to be like, all right, EJ, go out there and throw the ball. We're going to have to throw it. We're going to even be anywhere new competitive in this game, especially because

10:18if we can score fast and early, tell me if you said the explosive plays, it feels like it's going to force you to have to get into a game that they probably aren't going to want to want to get, they don't want to get to a shootout with us. But I think that's at some point they're going to be forced to do it. And I'm, I'm curious about this too, because I keep here in this is, oh, oh, you's going to be vanilla, you know, they're not going to show anything in this game offensively. I mean, yeah, you're not going to show your whole bag before you go to Michigan, sure. But how vanilla might you tech be in this game? Let's think about lashing it. They played Illinois State who was a good, what FCS level team, they got their quarterback hurt and then Kent State was like, dude, we're not even playing our starting quarterback in a game that we have no chance of winning. Like you know, how good OU defense is in their defensive line. Do they get down early and they're just like, let's just run the ball, throw some short passes. We're not going to get our quarterbacks killed out there. We'll be vanilla more than the other side and just get the heck out of here.

11:19Take our check and move on. I don't, I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if that happens. No, that's a very good point because actually makes me think about Arkansas State going into what was that the 2023 season and that to me is the one game that could be a good, good parameter to how I want to measure this team. But Arkansas state game 2023 so I've been this is kind of how I've been I've been talking about this season how I kind of see things hopefully can go. I'm hoping that we start the game season off like we did Arkansas state in 2023 and then do go to and go to Michigan like we did Nebraska in 2022. We can pull off both of those. I think the season is definitely a lot down like cancel Christmas if you can do that. But the only thing about the Arkansas state game was we didn't run the ball a lot. Grand we didn't we didn't have a hundred yard rush here but think we finished what we finished about 220 so it wasn't terrible but it wasn't a dominant run game like you want is like

14:29four and a half yards of carry you want it more from that. I'm in the mindset of I want you to run up this score in the first half. That is like the one big indicator for me 35 oh at the half would make me feel good. If you give me 48 something that's 42 at the half then I'm like all right I'm sold on this team and that's because of the thing you pointed out we can get turnovers if we can get that defensive line to get that pressure to where they're just like we're going to unfold. Point the ball this guy to hear healthy and get this check. Can Oklahoma put up those kind of numbers in the first half is really my next question. I mean I think they can because here's why let's go back to I feel like what oh you fans will say all the time when you get an opponent like this. Ah they're not going to show anything offensively and again. Yeah. I mean they're clearly going to hold some things back but I it's almost like people think of vanilla offenses. Well let's just run it in between the tackles. Maybe we'll throw some slants and some outs. I think it's going to be maybe a little bit more aggressive at times and maybe what some

15:34people think and here's why is yes you don't want to show your entire bag offensively or you're saving some things from Michigan. Absolutely you are. But you also wouldn't hate putting some things out on film that maybe you didn't do it last year. Michigan has to respect that a little bit more and wait to let me explain first two years in the SEC. Let's think about the OU offense. They've been pretty easy to defend man because they weren't going to be able to run the ball consistently against you and they're not throwing the ball vertically down the field. I mean they really didn't even try last year for the majority of the season. I think they will be able to throw the ball down field this year. I do think Jomiteer can be that quarterback and I do think he's got to set a receivers this time around that can help you stretch the field. I think trail Harris is a dude man. I'm just I'm just going to tell you man. I am all in on trail Harris. I think he's I think he's a dude. I've heard the well you know you thought that about Dion Burke.

16:34I didn't think that about Dion Burke. I still think Dion Burke is a really good receiver. I just think the environment around the OU offense the past couple of years wasn't necessarily conducive for anybody to excel. So you've seen an OU offense that can't throw the ball down field not a won't throw the ball down field. I think they will be able to this year and to put it Michigan's mind maybe to wear to stretch their defense out a little bit to start the game. I think you might throw just some go balls down the field of trail Harris and that's not showing anything that's not showing anything crazy. That's just having a wide receiver run straight down the field and the quarterback just throws it to him. So if OU takes some chances deep in this game. I don't think that that's you know showing anything necessarily. I think you think it's a quarterback. I just think you might run straight throw it down the field. So I won't be shocked if OU you know attempts to throw the ball down field more than what people think to get in the rhythm themselves offensively. But maybe to throw some things out for Michigan that they really got to account for. No, that's a very, very point to around like the Dion Burke side.

17:36We were very excited about Dion Burke's but not people weren't as excited about satania and in satania goes out there and almost gets you a thousand yards. So you kind of realize like, oh okay, it's possible that one of these dudes can't put up those type of numbers. And then of course, Trail Harris had similar numbers to satania not as high as far as yards, but he was scoring and he was making some catches. Yeah, I'm with you on that speaking of which breakout candidates. Give me a couple of offense that you want us that you think can break out or you would like to see breakout and a couple of on defense for this UTIP game as we you know get everybody acclimated to who's on the roster. So I think there's probably two easy ones and I'm going to take both of them on offense. If Trail Harris counts, I'll take Trail Harris. I think you go from one really reliable player receiver in Isaiah satania to now, I just think, oh, he's going to have to next year. I really do. So Trail Harris counts. I'll take him because I think he's going to be really good. The other one and I think this is the guy that I think everybody knows about, but he's

18:40the guy that people are going to be walking out of the stadium Friday night saying, wow, I like that guy. I want to see more of him. He's got a chance to be a big time player in his career. He's Jonathan Hattenman. I mean, just physically what he looks like speed wise, what he looks like. He's going to get opportunities early in the season. I don't think he's going to start on Friday or start at Michigan, but I think his opportunities to grow and grow and grow as the season goes on and just what he looks like physically and the tools that he has at such a young age. I think those are the two guys offensively that I'm looking at, but I think also just the fans will be looking at and saying, yeah, I like those guys a lot, especially Jonathan Hatten. Oh no, that's a good one there. I am on the Elijah Thomas bandwagon right now, seeing him as an or at the wire receiver. I'm like, oh, so we're finally going to get the prophecy. Will it come come forward? Because this is what we've been hearing about is how athletic he is and how he does all the stuff. It's like, okay, playbook down. Is you ready to go? I think ET is one is one candidate. I'm really looking at it. And I'm going to that tight in room. That's my biggest one is I'm ready to see Hayden Hansen, not only block, but make some

19:45catches across the middle because we know John likes to throw passes across the middle. That's one of his higher percentage passing areas. So he doesn't have fear there. He can throw between the numbers and he does well. He actually, I completely percentage to go along with how many he's thrown there. Yeah, I'm there with you on that defensively. Who are you looking forward to seeing played? Who do you hope breaks out from this game? Man, again, and this is probably another easy one, Danny Acoy, Danny Acoy and PJ, right? I mean, you know what you got from Taylor wine on one side, but who really emerges on the other? Here's the kind of season that I think Danny Acoy is going to have. So like PJ played, I think a lot better than what most people realized last year. PJ was good against the run. PJ just didn't have a lot of loud highlight place. Danny Acoy is going to have the loud highlight place to the point where you may not see it. We may not see it in the stands where Danny Acoy, A, didn't fit this run ride or Danny

20:48Acoy, A didn't do this right, but he's going to have a hit on the quarterback and a hit on a running back that makes us say, oh my gosh, this guy is incredible. I just think you're always going to be talking about Danny in the games that he plays because he's so explosive. He's just going to make so many loud plays. And that's the guy that you're talking about a lot. So I can't wait to see the guy. I think he's incredible. I saw him when he was a senior in high school man and he looked like physically, he was ready at that point. This is his opportunity to have his big breakout year. And it's going to happen, man. It's going to happen. No one was talking about Taylor wine a year ago. No one was really talking about no one, Hainakey a year ago. There's just so many players from a year ago that you weren't talking a whole lot about and now look where they're at. That's going to happen this year, man. It's going to happen with Reggie Powers, who I think is going to play a lot of that cheetah spot. And I think Danny Acoy is one of those guys too that I'm looking at and saying people know who he is. They've known who he is. But this is his opportunity to really blossom into a star on a on a used defense.

21:53I like that. And to go to your point of kind of an easy one, but also to your other point of what we really need to do in this game to make us feel super comfortable about this team is those turnovers. Corlyn Gillery. Yeah. Give me some interceptions from CG. Let's CG for show us that he's ready to go. That's one player that I'm looking at like, oh, if he can get the not the break, not the pass breakups, give me some picks. Show me that you're ready to turn. Show me what Lamar Morgan has been teaching y'all because I know that he does teach to get those interceptions on top of watching hands and swathing ball. I want to see some catches out of him. Yeah. I mean, I don't think this is too aggressive. I've been pretty consistent with this, this off season. It's not that OU has a good corner duo. I think they have the best in 20 years going into a season. The one, the duo that we yesterday on the show actually came up with. This is probably the best corner duo you've had since Derek Strait and Andre Wolfolk.

22:56Where are your two starting corners in 2002? I mean, seriously, like going into a year, I don't think you felt as comfortable about your two starting corners as you do these two. And that was last year's version that we're basing that off of where both those guys were still young, young players. There's still development to happen. So I think, I think they're going to be really, really good at corner. I should all think they're getting the respect nationally and maybe even across the conference with how good they are at corner. But if there's a better corner duo out there in the SEC, I'd love to see it, man, because I think OU's got a special duo there. I really do. Oh, I agree with you there. That's a true point. Coast Sullivan's the other one from me if I was picking up the defender. I'm ready to see what he's going to look like in this defense. The depth chart dropped and we saw a Sam linebacker. And they're like, wait, what we're going back traditional, which when I was listening to Gabe and Teddy, well, okay, break down, talk about it like, basically it's big Cheetah, but they're labeling it as a co-starter. Instead of doing or on Cheetah, you got a Sam linebacker to go with your Cheetah row.

24:00That's basically your or's depending on it. But that is fascinating that it appears we're going to continue the multiple thing and get a traditional four three defense out there on a consistent basis. Man, BD's having some fun. Well, yeah, he is because he could just throw out so many different looks because you've had guys defensively that you've recruited that know the system inside and out, or you've got a good D line that can shut down the run and get pressure. You've got two corners that can hold your own. You can do some pretty exotic things defensively or not because your defense is so good that they can hold up. You know what I mean? So what you see against UTEP, Brent can do so many different things with this defense. There could be a totally different thing against Bryce Underwood and Michigan. You mentioned Cole Sullivan. I do want to mention this about him because look, rightfully so, Kipp and Owen Heinck he get the most talk at linebacker. And rightfully so, Cole Sullivan is going to play. He is. And I think he's going to be very important to watch this year because let's remember what

25:02we were talking about a year ago with Kipp Lewis. We all liked him, but it was who's going to take over for Danny. Danny Stutzman was the heart and soul of the defense man. Like who's going to be that guy? And we haven't mentioned enough. But Kipp was that dude last year, okay? Well Kipp Lewis and Owen Heincky will be gone after this year. Who's going to be that next linebacker to step in and kind of run the defense and all of that? Cole Sullivan has a great chance to do that. And I think this could be a big year to put himself in that spot where he's ready for that big time role next year. I can totally see it. This is Tyler McComis. Host the rush over on K-Ref. 27:07It's finally here. We're here. I was talking to Tyler McCommer's from K-RF earlier and that is the sentiment is with all of us. We're excited the fact that we're finally at football season games to be played, especially on Friday. So let's jump right into the main thing, right? Friday's game. You are out there reporting. And I know you've talked to BV recently. You kind of reporting on some of the injuries that we've been seeing or whatnot. Going into this game, what some of the expectations you have for the sooner is going up against you, TIP. We know you TIP is unfortunately kind of bottom of the barrel. 93 total, FBS starts across the entire roster. They've got a lot of work. How do you feel? What's kind of like your expectations for Oklahoma in that game that will make you feel really good about them going forward into the season? Yeah, I'm mainly just like everybody else ready to see them play actual football against an actual opponent on the field.

28:07I mean, I feel like we've been talking about this team for months and months. And I'm sort of, you know, sick of talking to people and I would rather just sort of see what this team looks like on the field, just like everybody else. And you mentioned it. UTEP is UTEP. So it's a little bit more like a preseason game, sort of how I see it. But I think the biggest thing that I'm looking for out of vocal home is what does John material look like? What does this offense look like that they've talked about all season long is going to be different? What is the run game and the tight ends? And all of the changes they've made there look like, but then also how many backups get in? What do some of the freshmen look like if they do end up getting to play later in the game if it's a blowout like we expected to be? So those are some of the things I always look at in week one, you know, during a game that's sort of not very interesting to most of the country, but that's okay. We'll make up for it next week and in Arbor. That's a fair point is thinking of speaking of injuries or whatnot that I guess that's probably the good thing about playing a UTEP week one instead of having a like Clemson

29:11and LSU playing each other week one of the season. You kind of get a moment to where you can play some additional players and see what you've got. And BV basically raved about how of the 70 in the 2D 43 are third, fourth and fifth year. So the experience is there for this team, which is awesome. And a lot of them are returners at least in their second season here at Oklahoma that's going to be playing. If there's a particular accomplishment this team could do in this game that will make you say, yeah, they're the real deal. What would be that one thing for you? And just as an example, I need to run the ball well. Similar to what they did against like Arkansas State in 23. They had 220 yards against UTEP last time in 2022. They had 250 yards. To me, if you can get over to 50, I'm probably very confident that we could do something. What's that metric that jumps out to use at that? Or is there anything else that makes you say that happens?

30:12We're good. Yeah, you took the word right out of my mouth. I was going to say 200. I mean, give me 200. Let's see. Let's see what the run game looks like. Let's see what the blocking looks like. Let's see if they they use more 12 personnel. Let's see what those tight ends look like under Jason Whitten. I'm interested to see. Like I said, John Matier off the top. I mean, I think we're all pretty confident that that John, you know, can hold his own against the team like UTEP. But it's been over, you know, it's been several several months since we've seen him play an actual football game. And he's talked so much about the tweaks he's made in his mechanics and the film work he's done this off season. So John Matier is a big one. Maybe, maybe, you know, 300 yards passing from John Matier 200 yards on the ground. Let's say that. Well, who makes a 500 yard offensive game? That's not bad. Let's me think about his introduction to sooner nation Illinois state, which was a really good introduction mind you, like in two 300 and like 90 something yards, he broke Baker Mayfield's record for most yards thrown by quarterback in his first appearance. And so he did all the good stuff.

31:12And then of course, you get that injury and it just completely derails what really was a Heisman or potential Heisman trophy conversation for him. So I like that. The quarterback is your focus outside of, you know, having some good running. Me, I don't need him running a bunch. I need you to just just will and deal it, but let you run in backs. I want those yards from the backs. So I totally agree 200 is a good number though. I actually appreciate that you're giving them a little lenience going into this game. But defensively though, let's talk about some breakout candidates for you. Like, give me a couple players on defense that you want to see really pop off in this game. They could be a well known player to get you some whole bunch of sacks and some interceptions or can you be a new name that you like? I want to see if he really produces the statistics that or just shows us some flashes to get us excited going forward. Yeah, man, there's so many. I could list every starter on defense. I mean, the obvious ones are PJ and Danny a coier.

32:13That was obviously a battle and camp. And I believe they're listed as oars on the on the death chart. I don't have them in front of me. But PJ was the first name listed. All off season, it's been like, is this the year for PJ? It seems like we do this every single year. So if he could get a couple sacks, that'd be pretty interesting. Reggie powers is a guy that I've heard all camp just was one of the best players on the defense. Obviously a well known name. He produced a lot last season. But the cheater rolls his now. Kindle Daniels isn't here anymore. So seeing Reggie sort of grow into that as a starter is going to be pretty interesting. And then for me, like, I know he's a star already on this defense and you know, an all SEC caliber player. But always love watching Peyton Bowen play football. If he could come up with a turnover first game, that'd be pretty interesting as well. Yeah, that's a big one. And speaking of Reggie powers in the death chart, I'm going to pop this up on the screen for everybody that's watching. If you're listening, you may need to go to the YouTube look at it, but you've already probably seen this guys.

33:13When you look at the death chart itself, the one thing that jumped out to me and John, we talked about it, especially on Monday. And I actually saw you tweeting about this as well. They added a new role, the SAM. Which is very fascinating that BV is now implementing something like that because when I listen to Gabe and Teddy over Oklahoma breakdown, Teddy's thoughts was, it's the cheater role, but it's the big cheater. Right? Like we used to have that. But what's interesting to me about that is when we had the big cheater roll back when we were doing it 23 with Trace Ford, they just had cheetah. They didn't really have big, you know, or just a cheetah roll or whatnot, but they've added that SAM. So it feels like they're probably going to go to a four three defense on some stuff and you're going to have Cole Sullivan out there, which means that him and Reggie powers are basically a or when it comes to starting in that row. I'm assuming you're pretty excited about seeing what that looks like, right? Yeah, that's what I'm talking to me as well.

34:15I think Brent set on his coach's show Monday night that it's pretty much the same. It's really not a big difference there. I think sort of what I've heard they did throughout camp was whenever Brent wants to use bigger packages, Cole Sullivan's playing the traditional SAM linebacker role and whenever they want to play, you know, faster or whatever, like normal Reggie powers is that starting cheetah. For me, when I first saw the depth chart, it sort of screamed to me at least, let's reward Cole Sullivan with this title or what have you. I mean, big time transfer decided to transfer to Oklahoma and take a leap of faith instead of staying at Michigan. So I know they've been really impressed with Cole. I think Cole's going to play a lot of football, but that's sort of how I looked at it when the depth chart came out. Same. Yeah, it feels like it's a reward. Plus we've heard and I've talked to some of you reporting on this that they've raved about how fast he's able to pick up this playbook. And that's a rarity. The linebacker position is the most demanding position in the Brent Venables defense one.

35:19He's a former linebacker coach. Two, he, everything is predicated around that. You're run stuffing, even with big defensive linemen. Linebackers got to be ready to feel those gaps. If those linemen do create, if they get doubles, they, some of them got to be playing coverage. There's so many things that the linebackers require handing off offensive players to each other and make sure the communication is right. It's just so much that he leans on them to do. So yeah, hearing that he's able to pick this up so fast is, is, is very encouraging offensively. Who, who's a breakout candidate that you want to see do something good in this game as well? There's also several and offense. I mean, Elijah Thomas is an easy one to pick out, but I'm going to go with Lloyd Avant who at this point, I think might be the first running back out there. You put up the depth chart. He was listed as an or with Xavier Robinson. And after talking to several people close to him, people have been very impressed with him. And this sort of came out of nowhere at a lot of people's radar.

36:22When he committed to OU out of the portal, it seemed like he was going to be more of a special team's contributor. And I know he's going to contribute there as well. But I think Deela McCullough took a lot of people by surprise before camp even started highlighted Lloyd Avant as the leader in that room. That seems to have stayed the same throughout camp and he gets rewarded with a starting role. So definitely interested to see what he can showcase on Friday. Yeah, it was funny. I went back and started digging about Lloyd. I was like, let me go look at him as high school stuff and kind of find some information. He played 6A Texas football. He rushed for almost 6,000 yards in his career, which I was like, that's pretty insane that he was able to put all those numbers up. I mean, he was at what was that summer creek in Texas. So maybe he just fell under the radar, which is common for Texas running back. Caleb Hawkins from Shawnee for the most part got him. Went under the radar. And now he's considered one of the better backs potentially in college football.

37:23So it happens at that position. But him being lost in the show full because his head coach got fired. Kevin Wilson, unfortunately from Tulsa, he transfers out. Now he's here with Deela McCullough who worked for Kevin Wilson. And his first job is when I make you, I'm starting to see where these connections are. And I really feel like Kevin Wilson's like, I'm telling y'all he's got something. And then when Deela got to see him, he's like, yeah, coach, I trust your judgment. Let's see what he looks like and they get him and they're like, oh, he's actually a pretty good back. Look, putting up almost 6,000 yards against 6A Texas football. Aim easy. That is legit. Yeah. I think they played for the state title gaming. It's DeSoto in his senior year talking to his high school coach, that guy who coached Jamal Charles, he said he reminded him a lot of him. So pretty high praise there. And yeah, like you mentioned all the connections and what he was able to do at Tulsa in Colorado state. I think Deela said during the summer, he has a grading system and you have to be at least an 80 or an 85 to get on the field.

38:24And Lloyd was consistently 94 or 95 highest in the room. So yeah, pretty interesting stuff. Definitely excited to see what he has. Wow. That's pretty good. Jamal Charles. Yeah, I saw you tweet that out. I got a chance to down and read the article, but Jamal Charles is a very high praise. He was pretty good back. Yeah. No doubt. Obviously, totally different players and totally different skill sets. But I just think the mentality and the work ethic and a lot of those things reminded him of him. So pretty cool. I mean, his huddle from high school has him running before just like 449 or something like that. So he's pretty, he's got some speed on him. And if he can figure out a break, then why not? I think that that's a pretty good deal there. So what's your score prediction for this game? Have you put that out there yet? Man, yeah, I think I went somewhere around 45 to three or something, but honestly, I sort of sort of feeling a shut out. Why not? Let's see if Oklahoma can see. I mean, this defense, we talked about it all all summer long as one of the best in the

39:27PC, one of the best in the country. How what a statement it would be if they they came out of the shut out in week one. Absolutely. The good thing is, as you mentioned that last year, we only gave up six points to our in our, I guess, I guess your G6 noncons and your FCS games. And those two field goals were because of turnovers that we probably shouldn't have done. I guess if we don't turn the ball over, should be a shut out.
