Panarin Returns to MSG with Kings

Artemis Panorin is heading back to Madison Square Garden on Monday when his new team, the Los Angeles Kings, faces his former club, the New York Rangers. He spends six and a half seasons with the Rangers after signing a big 7-year deal worth $81,500,000 back in July of 2019. Less than six weeks ago, on February 4th, the Rangers traded him to the Kings. During his time in New York, Panorin led the Rangers in scoring every full season and racked up 607 points in 482. Games? Making him their ninth all-time leading score. He also shown in the playoffs with 35 points over 46 games, helping the team reach the Eastern Conference Final twice in 20. 22 and 2024. Contract talks stall before the season, and the Rangers chose to retool their roster, letting Panorin know they wouldn't resign him.

1:01With his no-movement clause, he picked the Kings, who sent over a promising forward prospect and a conditional third round pick in the 20, 26 draft. In return, they signed him to a two-year contract for $22 million. Since joining Los Angeles, Panorin has fit right in, playing alongside Adrian Kempi and Anzacopatar. He's second on the team with eight points in eight games, including six assists, and the Kings are pushing for a wildcard playoff spot in the West. Panorin admits he'll feel nervous returning to New York, but plans to stay relaxed and soak in the fan energy. He's settling into life out West, renting a place after some temporary stays, and says the team exceeds his expectations, leaving him excited for a playoff run.
