What propels you? Propel with Gatorade Electrolites. Justin Ferguson, Auburn, is there any, Gigi, what stands out to you studying this Florida offense so far? It's been a couple weeks. They've had a lot of success. Just kind of new scheme, new players. What stands out about them? Yeah, and they've got some incredible talent. Offensively, they have, you know, playmakers all over the board. You know, start with their running back. He's really good. Balance, body control, great feet. He's explosive. Tough to tackle. And their guys out in the perimeter, you know, they do a really good job of getting them to ball in space and creating one-on-one tackles that they've been able to, you know, to win those one-on-ones a lot of the time and create explosive plays. I think, you know, their coach, you said, there's a great job of distributing the ball and getting it into the hands of those guys and creating ways to do it and, you know, with a lot of shifts and window dressing. And so they present a lot of issues. Yeah, DJ Bill Cameron with ESPN 1067. The market's only got about a half dozen snaps or so against Baylor, but you got a chance to get him in there for quite a few more, especially there at the edge.

Just how's he done out there and how much can he help you there? I know that. That was a point for us to get him more involved. And, you know, we utilize him in a couple of different packages at several different spots, which he has the versatility as a player to be able to do that. He can play on the ball on the edge and also play off the ball. And so we'll continue to utilize that. I think getting him more and more involved will only help us, so help him. I think he's gaining that confidence back and playing with more confidence. And, you know, we're in need of him as we keep him forward for sure. DJ, we saw Dallas the first play impact a quarterback. And then, I guess all three of the interior guys had sex on Saturday. How valuable is that to see those guys progress, push the pocket and make plays from the middle? Yeah, no doubt. I mean, the player timeout was a four man rush and then we had a second, a three man rush. Like, when you could do those things without having to, you know, we bring a lot of pressure at times and all that. But to be able to get pressure in the quarterback without having to bring it, bring extra is huge.

I mean, I think obviously that allows you to do a lot more in the back end and mix up your coverages into skies. And, you know, sacks are great and awesome. Those stats are kept. But even the plays where you're affecting the quarterback by just pushing the pocket where you can't step into a throw or can't, you know, he's throwing off his back foot. Maybe not be able to see where he wants to go and those things we all track too, because that's big effect on him. Coach, Tyler Rayleigh, Auburner to cover. Elijah Mollanda's has obviously had a bunch of success through the first two games of this year. And as a sophomore, that's pretty rare to have that young talent on the field. How big is that success been for the defense overall? And what are you looking for him to step up in as you near as he's playing? Yeah, Elijah has been tremendous for these two weeks. And, you know, I think obviously you see him. He's making a lot of plays. He's making physical plays. He's all over the field. And it doesn't matter what spot he's in. If he's in coverage or where Blitz in him or he's fitting the run, he shows up.

But I think that's just, is really scrapped on the surface of what he does for our team and our defense because he's our vocal leader. He's out there getting everyone lined up that, you know, he's the communication piece for us from the sideline to him to the rest of the defense. And he's really embraced that role of being a vocal leader and, you know, getting guys in the right spots. And he's doing it off the field as well now too. So he's been tremendous for us. Did you all talk about from the Baylor game playing with better leverage, getting off the field on third downs and they only really converted third and short the whole game? How much better did you see your guys just kind of being in the right spots and kind of controlling what they could control from week one to week two? Yeah, definitely made improvement there. Like that was, you know, I'd mentioned it here a week ago, but really throughout the whole week, like every day practice, that was we were hammering that home. And I think the cool thing is when you're emphasizing something and you see your players take ownership in it, like it's not just a coach issue, it's a player issue, meaning like they own that issue, that problem as well.

Like, hey, let's go fix it. And that's what, you know, our guys did last week. And, you know, that's going to be truly tested this coming week with the amount of formations and shifts and movements and unique things that they do. We're really going to have to communicate very well and be on the same page and make sure that, you know, we have our leverage right and all those things. And so it was good to get that straightened out for a week. And, you know, like I said, we're going to stress it once this week too. Go to Farer, Jeff. Coach, you're a J Douglas opener in a cover. And you talked about how Farer, the receivers, they like to do it with someone on one ball. So how confident are you that your DB is able to rise the occasion after struggling against the other PowerFile opponent, I'm in Baylor? You know, I think in the league we play in every week, you know, there's matchups that are going to be attacked for sure. So I think we're, as always, we're going to mix up our coverages, what we do and how we do it. But I think that's, you know, our guys are very confident in their ability to play.

And, you know, it all goes hand in hand. So it's not just the coverger or DB. It's, what was the rush? How did the rush affect the quarterback? How much time did he have? Where's he thrown it from? You know, it's team defense. Russian coverage always worked together. And so our job as coaches is to put a plan together with those things we'll compliment one another. And, you know, I think our players, they understand that and, you know, they're ready to answer that when the numbers go. Hey, do you talk about the tackling there on that last drive in the first half of the one they scored on? How did you see your guys kind of respond to that? And, you know, in the second half, tackling. And just obviously that's probably going to be a real big focus with Florida. No doubt. No doubt. I mean, I, you know, that drive was disappointing. I felt like we were playing at a high level in terms of just effort and violence and execution up until that point for a reason that that drive had kind of fell apart on us. I got after pretty good about that. I thought the response was great. And we came out in the second half and, you know, really, you know, a bunch of three and outs and didn't even first down. I think until the last drive.

The response was good, but you'd like to not not see that even happen on that one. So tackling will be, is always a major deal that we work on and talk about and fundamentally in meetings and practice every day. And certainly this week that that will be tested. They have guys that are really good at making making you mistackles. And so we get to a great job of it. Alright. Thank you. This episode is brought to you by State Farm.
