Now here's a highlight from Coast to Coast AM on I Heart Radio. And welcome back, George Noria, along with Dr. Judith Urloth, our psychiatrist and path Judith psychic vampires, energy vampires. What are they in your opinion? Psychic vampires and energy vampires are people who have the power to suck your energy dry. And you could feel them intuitively if you're around somebody and suddenly your energy starts to go down. Maybe it's slowly, maybe it's just very quickly. You need to be aware of that intuitively so that you honor that. And energy vampires can be narcissists. They could be rageaholics. They can be vicious types, just people who are mean spirit and vicious and want to hurt you in some way. Or they could be a chronic talker.

Somebody who talks so much, you can't get an order and then why is it you can't go down. Everybody can relate to that. And what happens in that situation is somebody's talking and then you move back, maybe you know of a footer two and then they move forward. So they're very crafty and so one in a corner used so that they might not look at the fact that they're treating your energy. They might not, but they are. And so it's important not to get cornered by them and to be able to set boundaries at that time and say, you know, I have to go on and talk with these people now. It's nice talking to you and just exit. It's very important to do that. Empaths are terrible doing that. They're so polite. They just want to stand there and listen forever, which is not healthy. And so it's important as an MCAP as a sensitive person to identify these energy vampires. We're talking about the chronic talker now, but know that they're real.

And just because they seem benign, if your energy is going down, that's what's important because I could lead to a lot of things if you're around chronic and chronically around energy vampires. And they're sucking at you and you're not doing anything to protect yourself. It can affect your health and your well being. And so for the moment to identify who the energy vampires are to ask yourself to look around in your life and say, who are the people? If I have any in the hall that are treating me and to be very honest about that, you're not necessarily judging them. You want to just identify who they are so you can develop strategies to stop this from happening. You don't want to allow people to drain your energy. It just is not healthy. And it's something that you part of self care as far as I'm concerned, you know, just identifying the people in your life who maybe are so good for you, you know, or maybe you're just not compatible with energetically.

But whatever it is, ask yourself with anybody. No, I as an end-half, I have to take this all the time. Otherwise, my energy would be drained where I have to stay in this relationship with this energy. Even if it's just for a short period of time, something positive is my energy going up. This is, you know, the opposite of an energy vampire. Do I feel better? Do I feel close to the person? Do I feel like I'm more energized around this person? And I'm drawn to this person. Whatever, you know, as opposed to being drained. So you want to ask yourself that. And so everyone is listening who is interested in changing this about their lives. And wants to deal with the energy vampires. This is wonderful. Now, as a psychiatrist, this is very important to me that my patients, you know, take, make sure that they're accountable for who they're with and what relationships they get in and who's draining them and who isn't.

And be able to take steps that are positive with those that are draining your energy. Perhaps limit contact with them or at least identify who they are. That's really important. And it's so good for you. Well, being in this part of your intuitive self and your empaths love because as an empath, if I didn't do this, if I wasn't aware, if I just went out doors every day and went into the world. And I wasn't aware of what I didn't acknowledge who was draining me, who was giving me energy and really just feel that intuitively. You know, I don't think I would, you know, be as energized as I usually know. I want to feel well. I want to be happy. I want to use my intuition. I want to use my empathy and be able to just say what isn't working in my life too. And that can include these energy vampires. You know, one of which is a narcissist. I know George, you mentioned that before that you wanted to talk about the narcissist because the narcissist is very common and it's very.

It's all over our world. We're getting so many examples of narcissists on the world state. No, no, a person they, you know, people are just experiencing them. So they're looking a lot about narcissists, but narcissists are people who have what is called empathy, definition disorder. And this means that they're not capable of having empathy as we know it. And this is really, really important that you know this because the narcissist can be very self-adored. They can be very charming as well. And they present a false kind of empathy where they're not exactly pretending, but they know how to charm you into believing that they really understand you. And that they are the person you've been looking for a lot of psychic vampires, dude, it. As you mentioned, don't even know they're doing that. Do they? That's true. No, they don't even know some are some are just born with this capacity where they come into the world and it could be part of our narcissism where they don't look at it that way.

They don't say, oh, I'm lacking empathy. That's something I want to develop. They think they have it. And if if a narcissist, you know, and the narcissist partner come in to me as a therapist and they want to have psychotherapy, it's almost impossible because the narcissist will always say it to your fault. The artist, the narcissist is never accountable for the part they might play in a relationship. So it's difficult to deal with them, and especially if they don't know what they're doing. If they don't have that consciousness, this is what I'm doing, and I'm consciously charming this person or setting off love bombs, you know, in order to charm them and kneel them in, they might not think about it exactly that way. They might just think themselves as you are as accessible. And so that's why it's all happening, but they're not saying, oh, I have a lack of empathy and this serves me. They think they are. They don't have a real sense of reality. And I know you're going to want some after here and this. This is an amazing story.

We've got Stephen and Malachi Gregory in Nelson, New Zealand. I understand that Malachi, who is eight, almost nine years old now, was suffering with not just one or two warts, but I mean a significant outbreak of warts all over his body. So significant it impacted his ability to really function. Yeah, he was having trouble even holding a pencil to write a book actually that they got me thinking about it. I'm not surprised. It is an amazing immunomodulator. And so I can see that it would work. And so at what point did you see that there was actually improvement? It's really going to work. Well, we really started to notice it around 12 weeks. You can see these things actually getting smaller and smaller and then going down to where they're just little red marks. The whole things are gone. And we're talking about once, you know, one the size of the one I thought no way that's going to wow. It's just been miraculous to see him get into a pure of shoes. Yes. How wonderful. It's great to see him so happy and confident. Absolutely wonderful.

Every incident seen it. That is blown away. This is awesome. Yeah, this is awesome. Another amazing story. Why we're talking about carnivora. Call them to awaken your immune system and protect yourself now. Call 1866 836 8735. That's 1866 836 8735 or visit carnivora.com. C-A-R-N-I-V-O-R-A carnivora.com. Hey, everyone. It's the Jonas Brothers with the Hey Jonas podcast. We've been catching up with some great friends Paul Rod, Michael Bubley, Seth Meyers, Nile Horan, Jake Shane, and making some new friends while getting into what's really like to have sisters like Alex National. She likes to control everyone and tell everyone to control as a horse. I would say that's a harsh word. I am more outspoken. Growing up a lot of the times because she was so quiet. I would speak for like the both of us. Now I'm working on like thinking a mom. It's really not good thinking before I speak. And Joey King. You know if your like mom is yelling at your sibling and even if you're annoyed with your sibling, you just like won't let that slide. It's like you only can yell at your sibling.

I'm like, you can't do that here. That is not what I talk about her like that. I just talk about her. Plus, we've been taking your calls, listening to your voice mails and giving advice or at least trying to. So if you've got catching up to do now is the perfect time. Listen to Hey Jonas on the I Heart Radio app Apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. Hi, this is highly breakman, Angela Jaretana, Jeremy Colhane, Patrick McDonald, and we're the hosts of the artists on artists on artists on artists podcast. The Improvised Character Comedy Podcast where each week a new panel of artists discuss their craft. Join us for a panel of wellness influencers. What I try to do is foe journal. I don't know, I think I sort of foe journaling. Yeah, it's reading. It's called reading. So you're so we don't like to use that word anymore. Okay. A panel of New Yorker cartoonists. Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class? No! I've been dying too. I'm so sorry. I'm seeing a reading of Sudako in the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald at the Wonderland bookstore.

That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark Thirty. No way! Patrick of the last bookstore though. Kim Katrol is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday. A panel of Eurovision participants. And we do a little Halloween sometimes. Is the Pope dressed up? He winks on Halloween. Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in. I'm Dr. Joy and this is therapy for Black Girl. We spent real time on it in our surviving middle school run. Bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two Black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now. So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological chaos happening all this e-job.

We got into group chats and gaming, friendship and bullying. And how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust. You're belonging. You could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted. And then they're fitting in. Spitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection. Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers sitting down with therapists, cure gains on Black fatherhood and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage. You don't have more shorts so you can't do flips. You have on the dress. You have to cross your legs. That's the range of this run from screen time to identity to the fathers doing the work at home. You have to get off her device. But the reality is there's a lot of life out there that we don't want you as your adult in the life to miss out on. This has been our surviving middle school run brought to you by the people who spend their careers thinking about exactly this. I'm Dr. Joy. Listen to therapy for Black girls on the I Heart Radio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcast. Self-care September is here which means it's time to rethink what self-care actually means.

Yes, self-care can be a long walk. It can be an everything shower. It can be putting your phone on do not disturb. But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff. And understanding your patterns, your boundaries. Finally figuring out why you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again. I'm Gemma Speg, the host of the psychology of your 20s podcast. And each week we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s. From relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment, just becoming more comfortable with who you are. Unlike the quarter life crisis which is depicted as the collapse, the quarter life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something. When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take that from you. So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself. Get to know yourself as well. Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the I Heart Radio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman.

I can wait 4 hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I choose option B. I'm Julie Pinero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smile good, that's not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the I Heart Radio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. I knew a psychic vampire who asked me for help one day and it worked.

He would board the living day lights out of people by just sitting next to them. It was unbelievable I've never seen anything like this when he talked it was even worse. And you can see people just try to mingle and walk away from this guy. One day he called me and he said George I need a favor you're into a lot of this. Is there something wrong with me and I said what do you mean physically and he said no I mean I'm with people. At a party at a group sitting at a bar at a lounge and they always leave me they walk away within minutes. What am I doing wrong and I told a hang out and I'll say Bob just for a lack of a name as the Bob you're a psychic energy vampire you're sucking the energy from these people who are around you. I happen to know what he was and never affected me and I want to ask you about that in a minute.

But I said you need to change your direction about people don't bore them so much don't keep don't wander on don't keep talking as you mentioned. Yeah just interject yourself slightly and you know listen to them and he did and he worked at it and he changed and he changed. They can't change can't they some of some of them can change the narcissist really don't change. What happens is the empath feels that they could change the narcissist I've had so many conversations over the years with empaths who are just convinced they found their soulmate or they found their girlfriend and then they're going to change them. They're going to help people them they're going to love them and with the narcissist you have they have a neurological difference. They don't have empathy and empaths can't get that a lot of them really can't get that and so they have to live through the painful experience of getting involved with the narcissist but the fellow that you talked about didn't sound like a narcissist because he was really open looking at his part and draining all these people and he would see all these people walking away that was an incredible story.

I mean very visual. He could see it and he wanted to be like by people and he didn't want people to walk away but he had no insight into himself until you gave it to him which was a very direct way of helping him. Now why didn't it seem to affect me being around him. It sounds like you had a lot of empathy for a situation where you seem small and you saw people leaving him and you heard him and you know that nobody would stay with them and he asked you well how can I change you know can I can I change this and you said yes. So I think it was a very therapeutic intervention torx. Could I be immune to vampires. Are you susceptible to some vampires. Interesting. There was a situation years ago I was with Tommy my producer in Las Vegas and we were sitting at a blackjack table that had a somewhat of a roulette wheel attached to it was a different kind of a blackjack game but if you ever got if you got a blackjack you know what that is right.

You got the chance to spin the wheel and you would win whatever the wheel ended up on. And I picked up a couple black jacks and we Tom and I are at this table there's another guy sitting at the table with us who was a psychic vampire. And we spin the wheel and it's clicking click click click click and it's getting close to a thousand dollars on one of the clicks and Tom and I are just looking at this wheel wishing it to click on a thousand dollars. The guy next to Tom the negative guy kept saying it ain't going to happen it's not going to get close. Well it stopped one click away from a thousand dollars there was two dollars. And we are convinced to this day Judith that that guy's negativity stopped at wheel from clicking to the thousand dollars is that possible.

Oh definitely it sounds like he did that purposefully so you didn't want you to get that he totally got this situation but people can have this negative energy or they can just have the ability to direct their energy to make physical things happen. And it was one or the other as if he had that psychokinetic power where he could actually alter the motion of the of the blackjack table so that it would not hit the thousand dollar mark I think he probably sits there all the time and does that. Now where does the sociopath come in. The sociopath is somebody who doesn't have a conscience. There are a lot of commentaries of the narcissist they can be totally self absorbed. They don't have empathy they have the empathy deficient disorder they have the ability to charm their victims and to convince them that whatever the sociopath is into is a great idea.

And the sociopath can be very dangerous financially for people because they can get in there and get involved with people's finances and then just run off with them and know or just leave people penniless and they don't have a conscience so it doesn't hurt them so this is the perceptual differences that you might feel with the sociopath so as part of the understand how this is possible. I'm glad we're talking about this because in terms of empaths and impacts saving their energy you need to identify who these people are who the narcissist are who the sociopath are who the chronic talkers are who the rage of all of us another one someone who can drain you with rage and somebody who just has pure psychokinetic powers. You know or negative energy just like the dark cloud over the person and everywhere they go they bring people down with them.
