He literally tackled with his face.
And his face is...
Can anybody describe this flat?
I would say that I have not seen a number eight have a bigger impact on the print as him and I'm not sure we ever will.
I can't confirm this but there's a pattern in the story where he played the Bristol and we was in the bar.
And when he asked me to Bristol and his camera came to me and said, I've heard you're really hard.
There's a fight.
And why he just knocked him out.
I'm so like...
Yeah, totally.
Sorry, yeah.
The force that Henry hit this man with, honestly, I thought it was dead.
You know, we all know about the squabble that happened and...
No, I just started between it.
No, as you're blown as whistle just in time.
Has my life laughed before my eyes?
Luckily, Evan has seen the humour in me playing along to this narrative.
That I was a THB.
A striker decides to run to the pitch.
Oh yeah.
So fear creams him.
Oh my God.
And he grabs me.
He lifts me up.
He just nuts me right from the face.
Kids are up.
I'm like, I know.
He goes, ask Danny.
Don't worry about it.
I'm sorry.
Jesus Christ.
Lunatic, mate.
Yeah.
Danny Grootcock.
He's certainly a triple-eyed bastard.
Well, that's what I'm saying.
Jesus Christ.
Lunatic, mate.
Yeah.
Danny Grootcock.
He's certainly a triple-eyed bastard.
Well, Ben, we have had a question, not a philosophical one, just a question from our listeners.
His name is Teddy.
And Teddy wants a list of our top 10 THBs.
Top 10 triple-eyed bastards.
For those who don't know what triple-eyed bastard, it means that they are that tough.
They're not just hard.
They're not doubly hard.
They're triple-eyed.
And that's a tough category to be fair.
And who is the original and number one THB?
It's me.
What we are in the hardest moments in a game.
Yeah, for those who haven't worked that out, it's sarcasm.
Yeah.
You're saying that for the viewer and listener, but actually you do strut around thinking you're
the THB, mate, don't you?
Yeah, you're right.
Yeah.
With the push comes the shaft, then deep inside it, there is a triple-eyed bastard.
And my biggest THB moment, just so many to recall, just folded someone up, you know?
Yeah.
There's loads.
I just can't.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't want to embarrass them, you know, because I'm not a massive guy in stature, and I don't
want to embarrass them if it became public of how many people I've dusted up.
Because sometimes being a THB, it's about just...
Comes with a big reputation.
Yeah, but it's not about fighting sometimes.
It's about just being tough and getting in there.
And, you know, you obviously renowned for that.
Like, what's most about a tackle as you're making the game?
Seven, probably.
Big numbers.
Seven soap tackles or seven actual dominant hits.
Do you ever make a dominant hit?
You must have made one dominant hit.
I've made a dominant hit.
Of course I've made a dominant hit.
The guy fell over, just was about to engage them.
Engage them.
I was actually having a duel.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He fell over his own feet in there.
Yeah.
Because he was that scared of you.
He knew he was going to get melted to me.
Yeah.
He fell over.
And as I hit him in fell and fall, I went, cool, you shit yourself.
Yeah.
Perfect.
So, he's head in the dirt.
Got up.
Yeah.
I want a jackal once.
Does that count as being?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You have to put your head in there pretty gnarly placed through that.
That they were sealing off.
But anyway.
You obviously have this big reputation as THB.
I did an email coming to me from Opta.
And it said that Anton DePont has forced 100 mistakles in the Six Nations.
So that's 100 people have missed him.
Well, one person has missed him a hundred times.
Do you know who is top of this list?
No.
Congratulations.
Happy times of my missed him.
Only three apparently, which I thought was a bit.
No, last time.
Yeah.
I can, I know exactly what game it was.
I missed him three times in a game.
Yeah.
You literally called my pants down.
Yeah.
But you are just one game.
So we did you three times in one game?
Yeah.
I obviously had him covered in all the other games.
How many times are you playing against him?
We must have played him for twice.
Twice.
Okay.
So, right.
So, yeah.
You are three percent of all mistakles on Anton DePont.
So, well, don't you?
I've got no shame in that.
The other time when I was a THB.
I actually got a week's band.
I got a week's band for filling in.
I just didn't know what.
It's not even that much for achievement.
Filling in JB Gibson.
You know, try to stay on my feet for look for support.
I think George Shooter just flops on me.
Yeah.
And...
Koldy carries the bull.
Slow ball and slow ball.
I'm trying to go quick.
And then I just neem in the face and hit him with the right.
I ain't get filled in.
And he gets up these days.
He's really days at that point.
I don't know how he got up so quick.
And then...
And don't do that.
Yeah, mate.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, exactly, mate.
It's easy pickings for Len.
But that was back in the day, mate,
where you could do something like that.
And all it was was a penalty.
But you got excited for a week.
I did get excited for a week.
What I love about this clip as well is,
despite you fighting,
is, like everyone talks about, like,
oh, the cap and the rock slows the game down.
There's a point there,
where there's three blocks of their hands on the knees.
And the ball is still in play.
Right, moving on.
Because this list is not about me.
As you can see from that footage,
I'm someone that...
You didn't want to cross.
What's your hardest moment?
I probably can't say it on the podcast, mate.
That's not what I'm about to say, but I am.
Right, our top 10.
Let's do it.
Danny Care did a really good version of this.
And it's on hits difference.
We'll put the link in the episode description.
So go check that out if you can.
But this is our top 10.
Should we...
Do you want to name yours?
And I'll name mine.
And then we'll...
Yeah.
We'll try and compile a top 10.
A top 10.
I've got...
Before I get awkward, just remove me.
Right, so I've got 10 names.
I'm struggling to rank them,
because they're all tough in different ways.
But, right, my first name...
I'll put my list.
Put on the list, yeah?
Yeah.
Okay.
He's actually your brother, Ben.
I'm going to put him on there,
because I realised that a lot of these blocks
on my list are six and six and above.
And I wanted to do something for the shorter gent,
because they can also be hard.
And I think maybe that your brother being five foot seven,
actually, you know, him being short,
might have had that angry man,
little anger and syndrome.
So, like, he was odd.
And, yeah, no, his brother's...
He's in my top 10,
because he was actually quite odd.
No, what's an actual...
In mind, lacking people,
but he was also...
This is, like,
it's not about fighting this list so much,
but I remember any time we played,
and it was like,
if there was a big ballcar in your position,
or something like that,
you'd probably be the first bloke to try
and, like, whack him or tackle him.
You know what I mean?
He always led from the front,
and he always, like, threw himself into everything.
So, for me,
you brought this on the top 10 list of
the hardest blocks that I've played with.
Not against him.
That makes sense.
And, you know, why it makes sense?
Because, obviously, for years growing up together,
I created that person for filling him in as a child.
I think that he got 99% of the hard genetics
in your family, mate.
I think...
I also think you're missing out the point nine.
If I...
Yeah.
But, yeah.
So, he's on my list.
Right.
Go on.
Keep him coming.
Right.
Under the name of my list,
you brother was hooker.
Tired.
Not myself.
Julian White.
Oh, yeah.
He's on my list,
infamous for...
Not good people.
Not good people.
Andrew Sheridan.
There's a legendary story.
Less training for you, I think.
I can't remember what it was,
but basically playing touch.
And someone gave him an uppercut
and basically what he just grabbed hold of them.
And started like hammering like a fence post into the ground.
That there's another fight we had with Mark Mokelli.
And there's plenty of stories,
I think, off the field,
that I can't do justice that, you know,
we'd have to get watching too.
But, mate, why do you get the mist?
Yeah.
You would just...
Yeah.
Like, you know, the old trick of your face, guys, like that.
You see, it is soon as something happened,
or you just knew.
Yes.
Like, evacuate the air.
Correct, yeah.
Oh, the story.
I can't confirm this,
but there's apparently a story where
I think you've played at Bristol when we was in the bar,
and like, when the highest minute Bristol just came up to me,
I was like, I've heard you were really hard less of a fight,
and why you just knocked him out.
So, like...
Yeah, totally.
So, yeah.
Yeah.
So, like, when you hear stories like that,
even if they're not true,
when that story...
When your reputation proceeds, even it proceeds,
like, there's no respect for that fire.
So, he's on the list.
A bit of a farming theme we've got going through.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm going to keep it in the modern age,
as well, for my third pick.
It was an unbelievable ball carrier and hitter and tough,
but there are some ball carriers in the world.
There are good ball carriers,
but when they get whacked, like, once or twice,
they kind of disappear.
He is, honestly, one of the only men I've played with,
that I'm a quint.
He had his head taken off.
There's quint.
So, we're a quint.
And he had his head taken off.
And he hit the deck.
And like, after that,
you're a bit like, oh, my God, that's a big shot.
Like, and he's literally like, give me the ball.
And it was like, all right, mate.
And he just carried it.
And he carried the same intensity,
if not harder, every time.
And like, even when he got a good shot against him
and stopped, no point did he go,
he never shied away from anything.
And he threw himself into every, like, every contact,
every collision he made.
I remember Northampton.
He got tackled once.
We played Northampton, mate, it was well for road.
And he got hit hard.
Yeah, two-man shot off a line.
Yeah, one exactly.
He was good at the hooker.
And the next one, it was like, right, give me the ball.
And he carried over the top of them.
And the hooker was then down for about five minutes
of shoulder injury.
So, like, you know what I mean?
He had no, in turn, that for me is,
we talk about being hard and tough.
And it's stuff like that where you're like,
it's the fact of some, we've played with players,
or played against players.
And we've even said when we're playing against them,
is not many, obviously.
But someone gets shot on them.
And they'll go missing.
Yeah.
That guy tolerance for pain.
Yeah.
And he's ability to just come relentlessly
as hard as he can.
I would say that I've not seen a number eight
have as big a impact on the Prem as him.
And I'm not sure we ever will.
Like, that is how disrupt if he was.
But it wasn't just ball-carry.
Like, somebody got hit.
Somebody got hit.
It was everything, mate.
You run into him.
He'd whack you.
Like, you know what I mean?
Every contact he made, where it was a breakdown,
the carry attack was full force and you stayed hit.
Another farmer on the list.
Right.
Next one.
Right.
It's a guy I never played with.
But I played against maybe one selling my career.
Jamie Cudmore, a Clement of Earn.
Canadian second row.
Big man, Canadian, national play, national team there.
But in that Clement pack, he was the enforcer, I think.
If you were the enforcer in a French pack,
you'd probably pretty hard.
But there's plenty of going YouTube.
There are plenty of times of him scrapping and fighting.
I think his brother was in the X-Men movie.
He had a great scrap with Paul O'Connell.
It was Claremont Munster.
Yeah.
And they obviously just things on it were going for it.
Yeah.
And they have an almighty.
Yeah.
But there's plenty of like him having fights on the field
and like, again, another second row.
He just went around hitting things like nasty man
is into play against and, you know, not that.
I only play against him, I think, once early in my career.
But I only went to a near him.
But he's probably one other one that, you know,
you think, when you think of hard bloats and stuff,
he's on the list.
Like it.
I'll stay in the second row of vicinity for this next pick.
Danny Grookok.
There's a lot of stories about Danny Grookok being like hard and tough.
But one of my favorite ones.
And it's like, like, we played Bath early in our careers
and Bath spent a lot of time.
I would do that one.
Bath spent a lot.
I wouldn't do the one where you filled me in.
No, no.
Do you believe it?
Right.
You could do that one.
Right.
We did a lot of time.
Bath were basically picking, running off nine
and running short carries into like our guard bodyguard area.
Boris Tankovich.
My good friend, my great friend, the loose head,
was great axe tackling.
But he didn't really use his arms.
He made like 26 tackles in this game.
And he was axe tackling.
Grookok carried it times.
And Grookok sort of said to the referee,
sir, like he's tackling with no arms.
The second time, Stanko got Grookok.
He's like, sir, no arms again.
The third time,
Grookok just need him in the head and knocked him out.
Sir.
So, yeah.
He's on my list.
I don't know, there's other stories about how hard he is
and that, but he's on my list really for that story.
Apparently, Danny's like the nicest work of it.
Like, he's a, I think he's like a karate black belt
and discipline and all that.
He's using on the pitch apparently.
He was just an animal.
I remember playing bar for the wreck.
And I passed the ball from a line up.
And Danny like, hit me as I passed it.
And like landed on top of me.
And the line is like, let him go, let him go sort of thing.
He grabs me, lifts me up.
He just nuts me right from the face.
Kits up.
I'm like, I know.
He goes, ask Danny, don't worry about it.
I'm sorry, Jesus Christ.
Lunatic, mate.
Yeah.
Danny Grookok.
He's certainly a triple-eyed bastard.
Ben, that is my first five on the GHB list.
Let's hear some eels.
I've got Dwayne Vermeulen.
One of the best eights to have played.
Incredibly strong.
Breakdown, ball carry.
And he just strikes me as someone that is incredibly tough to be fair.
Someone that I would love to have played with.
And had, you know, in terms of your nine, eight relationship.
I'd have loved an opportunity at club level, obviously, to have played with him.
And every time you played against him,
may he just, he was just so disruptive around the breakdown.
He's ball carrying.
Even in the air, he's putting the backfield.
Not only win the ball, but he'd win three, four meters post that as well.
So Dwayne Vermeulen is in there.
Nice.
He's one giant, enormous human being.
He's a massive piece of kit.
Yeah.
Proper player.
Jack Berger.
And this guy, obviously, was at Saracens.
And he literally tackled with his face.
And his face is...
Can anybody describe this flat?
His nose is like flat.
But he was...
Shit, he could hit.
Yeah.
Like he could seriously, seriously hit.
Tough man without doubt.
We... I've played against him several times.
Lester Saracens.
And again, he was one of the guys that...
Saracens aren't that wolf-packed mentality, didn't they?
Which is like defensive work.
And he was basically at the forefront of that.
Just hitting everything.
Into everything.
And just lead...
Like the physical presence.
And it was like, again, when you're previewing a team,
it was based like, don't run into this bloke.
Because he is...
He will whack you and rock you out.
People played against him, fully respected,
and know his name.
Whereas probably in the international scene,
there's not as well known because you're playing for Namibia.
And yeah, he...
Well, if you saw him, you'd know.
But like...
I think he's one of those guys that has a real respect
to the people that played with him and against him.
Absolutely.
Carrying on my back row theme.
Henry Tuolangi.
And there's that clip where they play the spring box
in 2007 World Cup, and he's playing for Samoa.
And he's literally off the back fence.
Like 20 meter run up.
And to be fair, the three spring box that line him up,
they're triple our bastards to be fair.
But Henry Tuolangi, mate, he has ability to carry a ball,
hit things, talk about Kudmore.
There's definitely a clip of when he comes around the corner
and Henry...
Yeah.
Fucking smashes him.
Like that guy is not only one of the biggest humans I've ever seen,
but he knew how to use his power.
I played a second team game with him at Leicester.
And I think it was against Worcester.
And I could only have been about 19 years old.
He was coming back from injury.
And the opposition player, this is just four-half time,
ran a gregan ball.
So like the nine round sideways,
and basically pulled it back and dropped a player underneath.
Henry was to the guard.
And the force that Henry hit this man with, honestly,
I thought it was dead.
And it was so scary.
Like, Henry split his head open.
I mean, I think it was head-on-head.
So it was a red carpet by it.
And then this guy was,
had to get medical attention, like, was knocked out.
I didn't think he played for a couple months afterwards.
He came a half-time one to come back on the field.
The referee wouldn't let him on the field,
because he'd already had a couple of big shots,
because he'd been hitting people so hard.
He was just on a different level to everyone else in this team.
The referee was always like,
he's had 10 minutes in the blood bin.
He can't come back on the literary,
because he was dangerous.
And he was just in terms of, like,
just human beings of power,
the size of the man, like,
he's unbelievable in here.
Now, he's on there, I'd say,
just an incredible,
like, powerful human being.
The whole too lucky family is,
but Henry is the biggest of them all.
He's a monster man.
He actually, I've been phoned him,
was playing for Northampton.
I think it was against perpping on a way.
And he hits him that hard,
that phoned broke his sternum.
Like, the camera's like following.
And then he just,
he just vanishes that up short.
Like, he's unbelievable.
I think he broke his forearm.
I mean, he came back,
and he was training with the second team
against Leicester Tigers' first team.
I might have told the story before,
but we had a tackle drill where cockers put out two sausages.
And, basically, it was the second team
for the first team, his breakdown defense.
And we were picking and going against three first teamers.
So, obviously, every time we'd pick,
the second team would pick, we'd get melted.
Henry picks.
He picks up, he sits the first guy down
with his arm, then runs over the next two and scores.
Everyone's like,
I think he's fit.
Next time, Henry goes back to the queue.
There's about six more of us get melted,
get nowhere, go backwards.
Henry picks goes the other way,
runs through three bloke's first team.
He looks like, yeah, you're fit in, you go.
Because he was damaging.
And I've never seen somebody
be able to do that part of me.
So, yeah, he's fully, he's on your list,
and he's also on mine.
So, next on my list.
Brad Thorn.
Big, bad.
We played with. He won literally everything there is to win.
Played at NRL,
came over to Union.
Tough.
Hard, man.
If you need ruck speed,
or you just want the ruck just,
obliterated,
then Brad Thorn was your man.
So, for me, Brad Thorn
has got to make there.
And then with him,
another second ride that springs to mind is, of course,
back he's both.
Who is arguably
worldwidely renowned
as being
a triple hard bastard.
Yeah.
Remember, there's a couple of occasions
planning his back he's boater.
We,
Fringland, we played them.
It must have been about
2010, I want to say, in the Ultraman National.
I think they'd lost the Scotland a week before.
And, like,
honestly, they came to Twickenham
and they pounded us.
They got our 22, and I'm pretty sure
back he's both the largest somebody ever,
the top of Crofty, and the top of Croft.
The drop off broke his shoulder at this collision.
Everything.
And we were also playing against Talon.
And I remember he had a goal line carry scored.
But he literally broke Marcus
who got some shoulder running through him.
And it was just
hard, like, but again,
just physical relish that side of the game.
Was in to everything.
Was whacking everything.
Like, when you talk about that in forces,
I know it's physical in force or whatever,
but toughness and so just clearing breakdowns
and making sure that people don't want to go near him.
Yeah.
So, back he's both the
and Brad Thorn as you two locks clean it out.

I'll do my final five and three of them are on your list.
We should Jack Berger, Henry Trilagi and Becky's Boater.
I have two more.
One is Chris Adolfier.
Oh my god.
It was a fat rower for London Irish, London Welsh.
Tongue and policeman.
Tongue and policeman.
Yeah.
And he was, you talk about someone that could hit and not running at.
I'm sure it's horrible, man.
I'm not sure what these tackles are legal.
But like he was, he, I think you like, there's a clip on YouTube where I think he knocks out Marla.
There's another guy.
We played Leicester.
We played London Welsh.
Oh, we ran that move.
And we said, don't, uh, on number eight, we said, don't run into Chris Adolfier.
Just don't do, I mean, like the move is fixing, but don't do it.
I ran into him and got knocked out in this tackle and auctioned that game.
I think it was the old, it was the old legs where you got hit.
And it was the ultimate quad stretch, which we obviously saw the ref do the other way you put up.
And he's literally.
Yeah.
And I thought we were just wrong.
Yes.
And I think Adolfier, they just like slaps him in the face of slime.
Oh, man.
I was in the game.
I know you remember where it was end of the season last game of the year.
A streak had a size to run as the pitch.
Oh, yeah.
Hello, fear creams.
Oh, my God.
That's probably the zone to clip.
If you've got YouTube, watch the clips.
Maybe.
Maybe.
Like killing blokes, but the streak.
Oh, yeah.
That was, that was one silly move from that guy.
One scary human.
Yes.
One scary human.
Yeah.
Great shout.
Yeah.
Right.
Who else?
The only one on the my list is.
That's a bit of one.
Is my favorite player.
Tierra, just a toy.
Brilliant.
Just, I think like.
He was.
Incredible for a player.
I think under 16, he was like a he was more into judo than rugby and it kind of probably showed
in some of his, like, well, the way he played the game.
But in terms of like, I'm like, there was hard had his face and everything.
Like, played that work at final against New Zealand, led the team in tackles, knee drop
Richard McCaw in the final. So he gets another tick for that.
To need drops for the World Cup final, you get a point.
But just again, like led from the front that French team,
led some great teams, but it was skillful, but like did a lot of day work
and just never shied away from tackles, carries like the physical side of the game.
And he, yeah, he's on my list because he's my favorite player.
So there we have it. There's your 10 in no order. We'll do that once and
on mine. We've got Tommy Young's Julian White, Jasper Visa, Jamie Cudmore,
Danny Grootcock, Jack Berger, Henry Tula Langey, back he's both Chris Hallow,
fear and Tieri Ducatua.
Tick, let's, let's, who are the final five on your list?
Right, Coli, my final five has been a bit of a crossover.
I also had Julian White, also had Jasper Visa, which means I've got three more.
Courtney Laws saved my life and many a time.
One springs to mind is when Bastro came around the corner and thought,
I'm going to score here and I was like, yeah, the trial lines that way.
Luckily, Courtney came around the corner, absolutely halfed him.
The art of tackling, mate, he is for someone so big, you talk about
Tygburn, for instance, right, around the, the Jacqueline, someone that's so big,
they have a, Courtney's ability to get low and just cut people in half was amazing.
Could Jack or more, like, maybe do it all, one of the best back rowers I played with.
So Courtney Laws and he's so hard to get on the podcast, mate.
Yeah. So, yeah, only THB's only so people should listen to that out.
Pure respect for him. Yeah.
It's good. Good episode back in the archive. Jerome Caino, New Zealand,
Blancide Flanker, could carry like an absolute tank that could also hit like a tank.
Right. And I know that people say, well, Jerry Collins and all that,
these, these are people that we've even played with or against.
That's from our list. That's just to make that clear.
Because there's obviously, you know, that we've been saying about the famous
Buck Shellford and Garza. I get it. But this is who we've even despite been over
in playing against. Yes.
Despite being old, we're not that old.
So these are people that we played against or with.
Yeah. Jerome Caino was unbelievable.
And you talk about, you know, the New Zealand team and everything like that.
And he's maybe someone doesn't necessarily get as much noise around him.
But I bet if you played with him or that team, they really valued the impact
and the physicality that he brought. I can totally see that.
Who's on your, who's your final name on the list?
Finally, and it's no particular order is Ebenezerbeth.
And, you know, we all know about the squabble that happened.
And I just don't know if you're blown as whistle just in time.
Has my life left before my eyes?
Luckily, Ebene has seen the humour in me playing along to this narrative
that I was a THB. Yeah. Ebenezerbeth.
When you look at like modern, like really modern day forces, and I said these are
players that we played with, but we started our careers a little bit earlier.
He is a modern day enforcer that someone that can't, but you can't do much,
but he is someone that does it.
The other other person that I was considering, like with it again,
lock and all that was Wilson, like huge specimen, physical, huge guy.
But you can't do loads, but he uses size made to be highly effective.
But I went with Ebenezerbeth.
So if we, if I'll put you in the rock and mindless so far, we've got five names
that overlap, which is Becky Spoter, Jack Berger, Julian White,
Gaspavista and Henry Chilagi.
So those five can be locked in, lock him in our top 10.
So we need to then discuss and narrow down the rest of our list.
Correct. The sixth name, there's no, I'm putting my Joker out just twice going in there.
Tick. So there's no argument about that. He's in there.
So we need four more names. He is your favourite player.
So I'm not going to debate the four more names that we need.
So you should take the floor for, you know, take the floor for some.
I would say looking at the list, some of these players are players that we played against
or with in our early career.
So I think that we need a bit more of a fresher twist, shall we say?
So I'd like to see Ebenezerbeth in there.
I'd also like to see Courtney Laws in there because he saved your life because he
saved my life many a time.
Don't. Yeah.
Well, so those, those who should, should make it, which leaves us with two more slots
coldly. I look at this, I look at the final two slots and I think who would I
least like to run around the corner against? It's not a pump for me.
So I don't touch the ball in my career.
But who would I least like you to run around the corner against Ben?
And I think one, Dwayne Vermeulid and two Chris Alaphair.
Oh, yeah, there's no show and go on Chris Alaphair.
I reckon a lot of these guys are not listed with Chris Alaphair.
I think would still be correct. So like there's a lot of guys in this list that I
wouldn't wait to run around the corner against.
But those two definitely are the two, yeah, the two most damage I'd say.
Right. We've got our 10 and now we should put them in order.
It's not going to be easy and someone said it's impossible.
It's impossible.
And we're going to make a lot of mistakes on the way.
And if you disagree with us, get in the comments, please, and let us know or let them
know. Let's see how they react. Exactly.
Yeah. Yeah.
Test our theory out on them.
Yeah.
So let's start at 10, without a short list, who are we going to put at 10?
So I was thinking who we can put in 10.
And then I was working out like, what'd you do?
No, I've let you decide who goes at 10.
Just so, you know, if they are pissed off, then it's at you, right?
Yeah. Do you know what?
I'm going to put Julian White 10 and the reasons why I'm going to test this theory
out, right?
But he's now farmer looks after cattle, you know, don't follow my Instagram.
Whitey South Devons.
He's now farmer mate.
I saw him at the Christmas party.
We had the list of Christmas party with all our ex-boys had a good point with him.
Mate and he was on great form and I didn't see any sign of aggression, which means I
think he's left that life behind.
So I'm going to put Julian White in at 10.
That's what we go.
So yeah, check him out on Instagram.
So what are you at 10?
Yeah, he's one of our two English lads on the list.
Who we're going at nine?
I'm going to put Courtney at nine.
So the next Englishman's out.
He's in France, mate, living a great life at Bereave, drinking wine, family man again.
Like he, I think that sort of enforcement role is, you know,
during him up, asking him, maybe you're going to suffer.
You're wearing him up.
I hope, Courtney, a huge amount of to my, the way my body feels now, thanks to him.
But we're going to put courts at nine.
One of England's greatest ever backrowers.
That is for sure.
He's one of England's best have arrows and he's renowned for his big hits.
But in terms of like being hard and juggling and work rate and carrying and just,
you say more than be like doing the hard stuff.
He was unbelievable all that stuff as well.
So yeah, no, he's, he's a, it's tough for him at nine.
But top 10, mate, it's pretty good.
And no, Courtney, like we do, he ain't going to be bothered.
Right.
I think we probably know who our top four are.
We're soon to discuss.
But so we need to then go five, six, seven and eight.
And I would say we have to rank these guys in some kind of order.
It would be Dussertoy, the Mule and
Jesper visa and Ebenez Beth is what I'd say is our five to eight.
I'll go.
Ebene eight then.
I've got Ebenez Beth at eight.
Yep, right.
And we all know like how he plays and ever not that.
But I think Tussertoy is your favorite player of all time.
And I can't do that to you.
Twain Vermulin is arguably one of the best dates to have ever played.
And Jesper we played with.
And he is horrible.
So for that reasons alone, I'm going to put Ebenez Beth at eight.
Yeah, no, I can say that.
I think seven, so we left with Jesper, Twain Vermulin,
Tussertoy, seven, I'm going to say shouldn't maybe be Jesper visa.
Playment Lester, South Korea current, like unbelievably tough, like this, as I say,
we'll carry into brick wall and do it all day long.
So I think he's, he's seventh, I would say.
Yeah.
One of the hardest men I've ever played with.
And also a great bloke as well.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Great on a beer, like a brilliant fun, but get on a pitch.
My gosh, absolute animal.
Right.
Number six, you're out of this.
I'd say it's Tiary, do two out six.
And I'd have Twain Vermulin at five.
It's, it's tough.
It's tough, you know, I know how much it means to me, it's mean a lot.
Pound for, I mean, if it was a pound for poundless,
I reckon Tiary, just to be right up there.
Cause you know, you look at these guys and it's got the 120 kilos.
Vermulin's 120, 130.
Yes, was 120.
Just try isn't in that like, no, that's not that size.
But in terms of like pound of pound, yeah, he'd be top.
But isn't the pound of poundless is an absolute list.
So yeah, I'll, I'll allow it.
I think, you know, Tiary, you go to six.
And the way for me, you look at five because say he is a monster.
And yeah, like you know, if someone's respecting the spring walk team
for their toughness, then yeah, that's pretty tough.
And Vimulin loves it.
So like, yeah.
Yeah, he absolutely is right.
On top four, here it is.
We've got a choice of Chris Hallefer, Jack Berger, Henry Tuolangi,
and back he's both a.
That is not easy to put them in.
No, no, no, not at all.
Fourth, probably the less unknown name, Chris Hallefer, I'd say,
it's probably four from the list.
Like in terms of running around the corner against him,
he's probably in that for the, well, I would at least like to run against,
but I think probably the other guys in terms of other stuff in the field,
like clearing breakouts and whacking, probably a bit ahead of him.
But yeah, I'd say how long for his fourth?
And maybe people don't know huge amount of him because he spent most of his career
banned or in the same way, or regardless.
So that's why right Chris Hallefer is at four.
Third, well, Henry Tuolangi back he's both a.
I think I'll put Jack Berger in.
The third slot.
Yeah, as a medalist, Jack Berger, I mean, if he,
and if look at his face and see how flat it is to see where he was prepared
to put that thing and like would hit and had no fear of putting his body in the wrong
places and the right place.
So yeah, I think he's there.
There's no shame in that.
Honestly, guys, there's no shame being on this list.
Please don't come after us.
Please.
More for Ben sake.
But yeah, probably he, he, we know from Saracens, but maybe on the international
scene, you play from a movie, but we probably didn't get that recognition that we,
we know, but in terms of like, we're an apprenticeship player.
He's one of the best ever.
Yeah, absolutely.
Right, final two, Henry Tuolangi back he's both.
I think we probably know.
Well, I know I'm picking number one.
I think I know who you will.
So after this, the triple hardest bastard is.
Frankie Spacer.
Very good.
Thank you.
I've gone with back his base.
Oh, back he's both a row degree.
OK, he's so Henry Tuolangi second second.
Yes, and back he's both the number one.
Yes, just I say both.
Two men you wouldn't want to meet down a dark alley or in a rugby field.
Most of the time.
Do you think, do you think if he played in this era now, he could be as much as
enforcer as he was then?
Yes, there's different ways of doing it.
All right, the game has evolved, but in terms of there's always be a place on the rugby field
for somebody that just goes and hits things and makes it a physical contest.
And it's prepared to put their body on the line.
Back he's both a really never got a red card, you know what I mean?
So he's not like physical and tough and like you'll see there are clips
that bits of afters and stuff.
But in terms of you can be hard and clear breakdowns and hard and carry a ball
and just be defensively, you know.
Be relentless.
I mean, you don't stop horrible.
Don't stop coming.
Like he asked.
Yeah, exactly.
And if needs be, there'll be a fight, but there's very little fighting in rugby nowadays.
So, but there are other ways of doing it.
And like fighting isn't like, yes, it's part of the THB,
but it's not the only part.
No, those kind of guys are, yeah, they just, they won't back down.
That's the main thing.
A lot of THBs, none of these THBs will back down from a confrontation.
And like, yeah, that's why they're there.
And there's an always be a place for me in the modern game.
And long may THBs continue.
Because I'm sick of carrying the flat foot.
