Red Wings Shake Up Roster at Trade Deadline

The Detroit Red Wing shick things up at the NHL trade deadline on March 6th at 3pm.

They acted as buyers for the first time under General Manager Steve Iserman, adding forward

David Perone from the Ottawa Senators and Defensemen, Justin Fock from the St. Louis Blues.

They also send forward Elmer Soderblom to the Pittsburgh Penguins in a separate deal.

Peron, a 37-year-old veteran, returns to Detroit after two strong seasons there from 2022

to 2024.

The cost was low, just a conditional fourth round pick that could become a third if the

wings make a deep playoff run.

With over 100 playoff games and a Stanley Cup from 2019, he set to bring leadership and

scoring right away.

Fock, who turns 34 on March 20th, came at a higher price.

Detroit gave up their first round pick this year.

A third-rounder, veteran defenseman Justin Hall, and prospect Demetri Bechelnikov.

The season blue-inner logs heavy minutes every night and adds playoff experience from 45

games.

Fans were thrilled, seeing this as a sign the team is ready to chase playoffs after years

of rebuilding.

The moves boost the lineup without gutting the prospect pool, as top young talents like

Sebastian Kosa and Nate Danielson stay put.

These additions keep Detroit flexible for the future, while giving them a real shot to

end their long playoff drought.

If they sneak into the postseason, little seasons arena could turn into a tough battleground

for opponents.
