Reform UK Leader's LGBT Joke Sparks Backlash

On March 24, reform UK's leader in Scotland, Malcolm offered, is spacing backlash over an inappropriate

joke he made about LGBT people during his speech.

At the London Scottish Rugby Club back in 2018, he was the club's chairman at the time,

and later said he instantly regretted the remark, calling it totally out of line.

Offered donated to an LGBT organization right away, and took full responsibility.

And eyewitness who attended with his wife described the comment as crude and in bad taste,

saying the room of about 200 people felt shocked and uneasy.

He called it utterly bizarre for a speech like that.

Scottish politicians have piled on the criticism.

Constitution Secretary Angus Robertson said, offered is not fit for public office.

Labour's Paul O'Kane labeled reform the nasty party and demanded a full apology or his resignation

as leader.

This comes just after offered defended past comments from his party's Holyrood election

candidates, noting how everything gets recorded these days.

With calls for accountability growing, the controversy shows no signs of fading anytime

soon.
