to get started today Thursday was a busy, busy day.

A lot of press conferences players resigning players officially signing their contracts

with the Washington commanders now that the new league year has officially begun all

of those new deals bringing new players into Washington can be secured, but before we

get to what we heard from all those players that signed today and even more to sign tomorrow

and so on and so forth.

Other news came out during actually one of those press conferences that the Washington

mayors have agreed to terms on a one year deal with with new soon to be a new Washington

commanders running back Rashad white that information is confirmed by sources to me.

And with Rashad white joining the Washington commanders now, jacory crosskey merit no longer

is alone in the running back room.

He's no longer the will Smith standing in the middle of an empty living room.

He's got another person in the room and he's got a running mates now is Rashad white

going to be RB one is jacory crosskey merit going to be RB one is Jeremiah love going

to be RB one.

And the answer is maybe all three of those possibilities are certainly on the table.

The only thing I can tell you with absolute certainty is that Rashad white is going to

come here be a part of a rotation of backs.

I don't think the plan has ever been or ever will be at least not in this season for the

Washington commanders to operate off of a primary back and then you have a couple of guys

who may be come in every once in a while the days of bell cow running backs are kind

of gone.

Rashad white and jacory crosskey merit I think where they differ is the level of explosiveness

which is really kind of something special because Rashad white is a very, very athletic

running back has a lot of explosive ability in his own.

But I do think jacory crosskey merit a little shifty or a little bit more agile, maybe

a little bit more straight line burst when he hits the hole again.

That's not to say the shot white doesn't have any because he's got plenty.

But I think what you're really looking for a shot white to come in and do is be that

third down back to the wash commanders are really missing from an explosive standpoint.

Last year I think Jeremy McNichols certainly was kind of the best that they had in that

role.

But Rashad white is absolutely a step up.

If you look at Jeremy McNichols at that level Rashad white is definitely a step up there.

On our depth chart where we pencil him in which we'll get to in here and then he is going

to be listed ahead of jacory crosskey merit.

But again, it's very fluid and who actually starts and who doesn't actually start at the

end of the day.

It's about touch distribution.

It's about reps and all those types of things and who starts on the field is really

kind of irrelevant to the grand scheme of things.

So please, please, please, please do not get too wrapped up around where these guys are

labeled in their pecking order, especially at these positions that are going to be incredibly

fluid.

A lot more of those on defense, but on offense as well, a lot of fluid ability.

So not necessarily matter doesn't necessarily matter where guy is listed on the list as far

as I'm concerned now.

What Rashad white brings in 89.1% catch rate 205 career receptions was one of the best

or well, it's arguably the best receiving running back in the NFL last year in a lot

of different metrics.

And I think he's going to become the primary third down back to minute drill back if you're

trying to get down the field, try to get a score before half time and do all those things.

I think where shot white kind of becomes your primary guy words cross jacory crosskey

merit.

At least as right now kind of handles your early down work.

I kind of look at like the Bucky Irving of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization.

It's not really a David Montgomery engineer Gibbs type of relationship because those are

two different types of backs and Rashad whites and jacory crosskey merit.

But again, they're going to play off of each other.

They're going to accentuate each other things like that.

But obviously the wash command is not necessarily done because you want to get two backs on

the roster.

You definitely need at least three.

And for the 90 man roster, you really want at least four, maybe even five as you get

out there.

Now, Jayden, what he just got here is not only just a friend from Arizona state.

I know that's going to be a lot of the pull in this and me, my title has it.

My thumbnail has it.

The main part of the conversation that we started this with has it, but this is much more

than a friendship.

This isn't just Jayden getting his buddy from Arizona state to come join him in the National

Football League.

It's going to give Jayden Daniels an outlet out of the backfield that won.

He didn't really have very often during his last two years of the Washington commanders.

Austin Eckler was kind of that guy.

But also, we didn't really see Jayden utilize it as much.

I think that's kind of the big thing coming out of year one.

I was asked quite a bit by people, whether it be all access every day or club members

insiders or whether it be on the radio, like where does Jayden need to take that next

step because he was so good in his rookie season that people were like, well, you know,

is he just perfect as is of course, he's not perfect as a first year or second year,

even a third year, obviously, quarterback.

And one of the things I noticed is that when he did check it now, quote, unquote, to a receiver

or to a running back like Austin Eckler, it really still looked to me like it was designed

like it was kind of like, Hey, we're this on this play we're coming out.

You're going to look deep, push the defense back, you know, get them to kind of open up

the shell a little bit.

Then you're going to dump it off to this guy and he's going to get some yards after catch.

It wasn't so much a true check down in that.

Jayden is going through his progressions, not finding an open receiver, say, okay,

let me come down to this guy because I know he's there and available.

Get the yards we can get and let's move forward.

And I think that's something that David Blow is going to work on with Jayden.

And part of the progression of Jayden Daniels as an NFL quarterback,

Rashad White is absolutely going to help with that ability.

So the college connection is going to accelerate the installation.

It's going to accelerate the rapport in the locker room, all those things.

It's only going to help having friends around you.

What you're trying to do hard things, obviously helps.

Now let's look at the current depth chart situation.

So we got a little bit more orange, right?

I said like for my tracking purposes, when I updated depth chart, the white names,

our names that are repeating or the returning, not repeating, returning.

The orange names are free agents.

They've got the futures contracts.

Guys, draft picks are obviously going to come and then undrafted free agents will come after that.

And we got a couple of orange names now.

You got Rashad White coming in as a running back.

He is expected to sign his contract tomorrow.

Chigga Conquo Tyden signed his contract on Thursday.

So he is officially locked in.

I think you still have a need, you know, potentially interior offensive line.

We'll see what happens with the whole Chris Paul situation that hasn't been resolved yet.

And they wide receiver two, obviously, is still a situation as the time,

as of the time that we went to prepare this up.

So I should say about 6 p.m. Eastern time.

Brandon, you still not been released by the San Francisco 49ers.

If you're in every day or you might remember, I didn't episode not that long ago about why the 49ers may not release.

Brandon, I you with a timely, in a timely matter.

So I'm not saying that's what we're dealing with, but we are now about 24 hours.

A little over 24 hours in the newly year and the 49ers have decided that they're not going to pull the trigger.

On that move, just got so for the wash the commanders don't sit on your hands.

If you're out in Peter's go out there.

He tried to get Alec Pierce, try to get Romeo dobs.

There's guys like like Darnel Mooney.

Truthfully, Darnel Mooney is my top guy like that's who I would if I could tell.

And in Peter's hey, this is who you're going to go get it would be Darnel Mooney,

but you also have juwan Jennings out there from the San Francisco 49ers.

And you have other guy Calvin Austin third, for example, Debo is still out there.

I know a lot of you want Debo back things like that.

So that needs to be addressed, but I think you're looking pretty good.

They're running back position with the two guys you got certainly, you know, wouldn't hurt to go get a third guy.

I don't know that Jeremy McNichols comes back now, but depends on the market too.

If he's not getting, you know, any bites or anything like that, he isn't Anthony Lynn guy.

So maybe they bring him on to the 90 man roster, say, listen, let's, let's run you through training camp.

Let's maybe feature you in preseason, let who knows?

Maybe we can get you to burst out in preseason.

A team comes up in the need.

We can get like a six round pick or something around pick off him for yourself like that.

We're not necessarily looking at him as a true long term part of the roster, but like let's give the do some work.

Let's give him some burn and let's see if we can't get him some interest on the defensive side of the ball.

Obviously again, the Washington commanders much more active.

No new moves on Thursday at the time that we shut down to prepare this episode.

But we did hear from Tim Settle and we did hear from corner back.

I mean, Robert since we'll talk about those guys, but we still have to hear from Nick Cross, Leo, Leo,

Sean, all trials.

And then he came along chase on Odefe a Daufe, oh, way, let me correct myself there.

I will hear from them, you know, in the next 24 or 48 hours, you know, early next week, whenever it comes around.

Truthfully, I think that's a pretty good situation.

The linebacker position, the quarterback of the defense.

I don't think it's going to be Leo, Sean, all we'll see.

We'll get the chance to ask him what they've told him his role will be.

I think you could obviously the quarterback position is something that's like, we may not see the plan.

Maybe they see the plan.

Doesn't have, doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information out there.

The watchmakers are really going after a perimeter type corner, like a six to long press man corner.

It seems like they really only went after the smaller slot corner type in a meek, Robertson.

So that might just be kind of the way they're going to go.

But we'll see what happens and we'll see how the, how that impacts the draft,

which we'll talk about on our mock draft Monday episode.

I got some opinions about that.

Press conference mania that's that's probably the best way that I can explain it is what happened on Thursday several players coming through to officially sign their contracts new free agents that the team agreed with during the course of the week could officially sign their contracts beginning Wednesday at 4 p.m.

So those guys started coming in Thursday, the guys who are resigning all so started coming in Thursday and one of the players that do the most attention was the return of defensive tackle Tim settle and I got my collection, if you want to call that and my favorite quotes from not just Tim, but from all the players that we heard from we're going to break these down and go through these and honestly the funniest, the most entertaining quote of the day came from Tim settle, he was asked by a believed on a Hopkins of profile plus.

What the brotherhood meant to him and he said quote well i'm the brother and this is the hood and quote and it was just kind of a fun moment and all those things but Tim did come back and what he what he presents not just from a play standpoint obviously we understand you used to play for Washington was drafted by the team 2018 left not that long after that end up with the Buffalo bills ended up with the Houston Texans now he's coming back here to help the commanders do their thing but I actually have the right

wrong quotes on Tim settle on the slide. So if you're on YouTube, I apologize, I'm going to pull that down, but we're going to go through this talking about the culture that's something that Tim settle knows better than anybody he knows what the settle came with the settle with the culture came from he knows what he's walking into and just walking back into the building as a returning member of the organization, he says that he could feel the change in the whole thing quote it just tells that the culture has changed and it shows that they're about winning they got the right guys in here they got the right guys upstairs and the mindset towards everything is winning.

Here and quote really talked about as kind of a cleansing right like which is just kind of a pretty significant word to use if you're someone who's been here before I've actually had conversations with all access every day or club members in the text messages who've asked me about guys like Kim curl potentially returning and listen I can't go like guy by guy and you go down the list of every single name but the bottom line truth is there's not a lot of people who left Washington during that period before Josh Harris before Dan Quinn and Anna Peters who have a really good taste in their mouth.

About leaving and Tim settle even mentioned like when he left it wasn't necessarily on like the best of term like it wasn't like the best feeling of leaving I didn't clarify like that was like a relationship thing culture thing or just because the team didn't get to do a lot of winning.

Unfortunately during his time but the bottom line is like you leave Washington is like it's not that great.

Of feeling this is someone who Tim settle grew up you know I mean a fan of the team fan the organization so it's kind of tragic when you think.

Someone who grew up a fan of the organization gets a play for the organization's kind of like this isn't not only is this not like one of those don't never meet your hero type of situations but it's.

So far removed from what he probably ever thought that it would be given the opportunity so to hear him come back and say like man this thing is is really nice and he hasn't seen the locker room yet is the time we talk to him.

He hasn't seen the locker room yet so he's just seeing some of the surface improvements and and meeting some of the new people and kind of getting a feel for the new vibe.

That he hasn't seen the locker room yet wait until he sees the locker room like then he's going to really be blown away because that's I right now that thing is night and day he also said quote I feel like when you're with a group of guys it's not just football it's got to be everything got to be life and I feel like that's one thing I bring entertainment I am the entertainer and quote and Tim settle loves to have fun and again that first quote funniest quote of the day from Tim settle easily my favorite quote of the day I think just from an entertainment standpoint so you know again the definitive narrative.

Of what the offseason brings what the previous regime left behind with the new regime has been filling in and if a player feels it as soon as they walk in again it hasn't practiced hasn't showered hasn't seen the locker room hasn't done anything but just arrived to sign a contract takes a pictures if he feels it you know it's real yeah so again it's put the quote on a t shirt as far as I'm concerned I think it's it's pretty great and getting that perception or getting that perspective I should say from Tim settle was absolutely great.

Here on Thursday then we went over to corner back me Robertson if I got the correct quotes up this time which I do and again the one that kind of stuck out to me pitbull man that's what he said we said describe himself who are the Washington commanders quote pitbull man they say Tasmanian devil bro and quote I'll tell you right now if you did not see me Robertson's press conference you're going to want to watch the watch commanders they stream these things and push they got it up on their YouTube page at some point time I'll put all the videos up on this YouTube page as well but if you want to get it

sooner rather than when I just have time to kind of update the more coverage lists which I do as often as I can but again a lot of stuff going on go check out the Amy Robertson clip or press conference really good energy you could feel it through the camera through the microphone

everything that we've been told you all of us are certainly reaching out to our friends in Detroit and even friends back in Vegas to find out like who is this guy what is he going to do all those things everything we've been told about the competitor about the energy about the intensity

it just stood out man and just you get this vibe from a vibe from a meek Robertson but he's the kind of guy that's going to go out on a football field take someone's lunch money and then shake their hand and thank them for my lunch I don't know if that makes sense but that's kind of what we're talking about talk about his stature something we've heard Mikey saying or still get asked about all the time both these guys sub five ten said quote but even though I'm the smallest but I just feel like I'm the biggest and the baddest you know who's out there or what's out there and quote talking about playing bigger that's something we talk about

with Mikey saying or still a lot unfortunately last year we saw more iterations and we did in 2024 of Mikey looking as as small as his measurements are but typically especially in 2024 when he's playing with confidence you can see him play bigger Amy Robertson is someone who does that as well I've already started doing his film study so once I get that finished out I'll go out to all the all access every day or club members and you'll see that on take you'll see him playing bigger even on some of the reps where he's not necessarily the greatest rep in the world last year was that

he's definitely a tricky year for me Robertson and the entire Detroit Lions defense but you'll see that as well and then the final top quote that I pulled from his zoom conference quote you want to go against the best in order to put your name on a category or to sharpen your knife each and every time you go out there you have to go against the best end quote something you know what was interesting as I asked him about his like Justin Jefferson iteration like a lot of people when you talk about it me Robertson it's you know well he once shut down Justin Jefferson and then you see the you see the quotes or the clips rather of him just like

he's getting into Justin's face and then there's actually an interview clip where Justin is praising him he's like yeah you know that's who he is he's a dog he's this he's that all the competition all that kind of stuff and I was like you know get that kind of praise you know from another from an opponent who has that prestige and you kind of tell him he was like yeah you know Justin's got that prestige but like I'm not I don't think a meek is really one to like celebrate like oh man like G Wiz like this guy you know who's considered to be one of the best said good things about me I'm so lucky I'm such a lucky fella and it just shows you know and I think in like

he was probably trying not to be rude to me asking the question like I don't want to tell us do like bro I don't care what Justin Jefferson thinks of me but you can see is like okay let me show some respect to this other person let me do this but I also like I'm a dude in this lead to like I don't like nobody should be praising me for getting respect from somebody else even if it is someone like Justin Jefferson so I like that attitude I like the approach I think that you know if you want identity you want teeth in this defense I think Robertson is definitely going to be one of those guys

locked on cults locked on everybody for all these guys that are joining the team to get videos for you and takes and Tyler Rowland who if you don't know Tyler Rowland is locked on titans very energetic individual himself definitely brought the energy on the video and said that the bit the energy from chick a conco is something that commanders fans you are going to like very much now he was also asked about where he thinks he's grown the most in his career in a four year NFL vet Ben Lee for four years and he said quote I'll say routes man I feel like over the past few years

there's people trying to paint a narrative that I'm more than just that it's more than just a yak guy but I can run any route on the route tree and quote and I'll tell you right now a little bit of a spoiler alert Tyler Rowland takes a shot at chagoconquos route running abilities though when chick says there's people out here pushing a narrative of that he can't run routes locked on titans apparently seems to be one of those guys we will find out this year if we agree with locked on titans or if we agree with chagoconquo but that narrative apparently is

certainly out there coming from Tennessee he said also quote that's also another narrative people are trying to paint that blocking is down but it's not I'm going to put my face on anybody it's not an issue for me and let's get it and quote and Tyler Rowland talks about his blocking as well in his video so chick knows the narratives about him does not buy into the narratives about him it doesn't want you to buy into the narratives about him again we have to do a tape study on him so I will tell you in the tape studies all access every day or club members you will hear my thoughts on his blocking in on his

routes in the tape study but I like the fact that listen there's a lot of players in this league I don't know the percentages but I'll tell you right now the percentage from when I sense is over 50% of how many of them read their pub read their press so I respect a player who says I know the narratives are and here's what I think of the narratives so I definitely respect I feel like if I say something about chagoconquo and he doesn't like it where he didn't agree with it but he's gonna tell me about it and I respect that as you know

man-to-man but just adult to adult like person-to-person I respect that level of you know conversation I'm gonna be respectful you be respectful will be fine

wider see where trailing berks also came through resigned his deal speak of trailing berks chagoconquo trailing berks both 2022 draft picks both draft picks by the Tennessee Titans

ask chag about his connection with trailing berks and man did he have there's nothing great to say about trailing berks called him a dog

said he's a beast so when he's healthy he's one of the best in the league and he's excited for trailing to be healthy now

stay healthy hopefully and get to show all of you and all of us as a watching media and covering the team

attitude Drake Jackson defensive and for the washman is also came to us on zoom and was asked basically about like

what to expect coming off the injuries and I really like the honesty here too from Drake said quote

that's new for me because this is my first time being injured so this new player that I guess I am

to become is all just me finding out I guess and quote and listen I think that's a really key point

of self awareness right like Drake Jackson coming off his injury he's not the same Drake Jackson

he was before the injury and as much as the team wants to find out who's going to be he's also

got to find out what he's going to be and I think that if he's open to realizing I might not be the

same dude I was before it's going to help him adapt to what he's capable of doing now how his body

operates all those things because if he's trying to fight it and try to force it and all that stuff I

think it could be really problematic asked what he can do for Dorontay Jones said quote really I can

do whatever he needs me to do and that's that he needs me to drop needs me to rush needs to play line

backer I'll do it and quote and that is why Dorontay Jones I guarantee you or Adam Peters convinced

Dorontay Jones won't wear the other gave the seal of approval for Drake Jackson to come back because

that versatility is absolutely going to help out in the long run we'll wrap it up here with

kicker Jake Moody because kickers are important and they're people too and talking about the new

football rule so give you the kind of short version if you're not aware 2025 started a rule change

where NFL teams are allowed to actually have 60 footballs that they practice with get ready for

games and all that stuff in in comparison to before where basically the league brought the balls
