6:10I went 49 on the front the first day Rossy. Okay that's how bad I was. It's my fault. Apparently. No but we have to hand you cover appropriately so what you're in the back. What is you on the back Anthony of 40 I came around. Okay. The number was four so he gave me four strokes the first day. Second day he gave me three strokes and I beating by four strokes people. Second day three strokes beat hit I beat him by four strokes. I beat you by two strokes which means you won because you got to spend two. I think it should be two strokes all along so go ahead. Yes it is straight up and now for the next two or three rounds we play will be one two strokes. Yesterday we played in Hurricane Katrina. I'm back. 8:19I think the thing in my mind when we've talked about a bunch of these teams is when judge comes back, we know how good the Yankees pitching is. We know about the lineup, the young guys, how they were holding it down. But if he comes back and is the version of Aaron Judge that we all know so well, the MVP talent, I think they're the best team in Major League Baseball with what they've got. Now that how fast can he get to game speed and locked in? That's the key. You know, that's going to be the key for him. But with the traject machines they have underneath and I'm sure he's been hitting on it and getting this time and down. Bro, he took a beat. He took they were out on the West Coast. They get back. He took live batting practice yesterday. One time they had some some guys come up from the minors, throw them live VP at Yankee Stadium and he goes, I'm good. So the work he's been doing behind the scenes is no one will ever understand how much work he's in off the jujacked and the timing and all that.

9:19But this is a, I mean, bro, this is really important, like you said to this lineup. We're going to get a version of Aaron Judge, whether it's his MVP version or maybe a slightly less version. That's still better than 99. See what I did? 99% of the league. See what I did there? 99. He good so clever. Yeah, I mean, he lengthens out the lineup. He brings energy. He's a captain. He's the captain. He's going to make that lineup instantly better just by standing in the box. The energy, the aura, everything that he brings to that lineup. It's a huge boost for the Yankees. Hopefully he can get rolling quickly and get some confidence quickly, get a base hit out of the way, walk out of the way, you know, all the first out of almost like a spring training ramp up. And we'll see how what their schedule looks like. I got to imagine he'd play, play off play, play, you know, he could DH. So really excited for that. Yeah, I think PCA has a lockdown for sure. That's a tough blow for the Dodgers. You know what I mean? That's their guy that they're relying on. He can give them innings in the postseason, whether it be in the bullpen or not. So I mean, that's a really tough blow. I mean, think about two ends of the spectrum here. You have Aaron Judge coming back, all the momentum, and the Dodgers seem like they're in a tailspin. But they are the Los Angeles Dodgers. Freddie Freeman said her best. We're back-to-back champs. All good teams go through ruts. They have a veteran group. So,

12:23but yeah, that stinks for the game. You know? Yeah. Tony pitching. I think the question is, does getting that out of the way I'm done with pitching? Does that help his offense? You know, I'm sure part of grinding through the knee injury is affected his offense for sure. But maybe a little bit of the freedom, just to focus on hitting and not kind of work in two sides of a craft. Maybe a little bit freeing mentally for him. Because I think the Dodgers have enough pitching. I think they're pretty deep. If everybody comes back, but I think just to see if that helps his offensive numbers a little bit and get back to the guy at the MVP team. Well, I mean, he's been in a rut, right? So that's a scary part. Because he's Shoheo-Tani. So he's going to get out of it. And usually when the superstar players go into a big rut, they come out guns blazing, right? So he's done this though a few times. He had Tommy John surgery and another elbow surgery.

13:24And throughout the season, he's always had to worry about pitching. Maybe not the pressure of throwing in games. But I feel like this is all he knows, right? Is pitching and hitting. So hopefully his knee isn't as bad as everyone has, it thinks. But if he's not pitching, you have to think it's pretty bad. So who knows? That'll be a good story to watch over the next three weeks. This final stretch here. What's good news for Pete Crow Armstrong? Sure is that pretty much locks up the MVP for, for, would be if I don't want to get ahead of ourselves. First MVP since our teammate, Chris Bryant, good friend, dear friend. Friend of the program. Friend of the program. But bro, stat that is crazy. Only the second left-handed hitter ever in the history of the Chicago Cubs to hit 40 plus home runs. That is insane to me.

14:26I don't think anyone understands at home how hard it is to hit at Rigby Field as a left-handed hitter. The proof isn't the pudding. There's only been one other player to do it. He's in the Hall of Fame, sweet swing and Billy Williams. It's always my goal. Could it do it? Every left-handed or always one day at 40. Shorba came close one year. PCA did it. Arguably having the best left-handed hitting season of all time, really. I mean, bro, he's going to be in the 40-40 club. That's crazy. 41, he had another home run yesterday. His 41 home runs. 35 stolen bases. I mean, the names in this club, Rossi. Barry Bonds. Alex Rodriguez. Jose Conceco. Afanza Soriano. Ronald Acunia. Junior. Show Hayotani. That's it. That's the list. I played with a guy, Brad and Phillips, that shout out, that dude BP. In Cincinnati, when he went, I think he went 30-30.

15:27And how impressive that was. Watching him do that. It beats knocking on the door of 40-40. It's so, we got to watch them play last night. He went deep again for 41 against the Brewers. Last night, they came up a little bit short. But the Cubby's bullpened, let him down again. But Pete is role-man. I'm so excited to see this team in the postseason. He's had so many moments already during the season. And probably to me, the most exciting player in the game. But I want to see him in the postseason. He shines so bright when the last turn on. The biggest moment. Hopefully, too, for him. I know you've got to think on these tight runs. It's hard to balance. He's trying to make the playoffs. And he's trying to win the MVP. So you're balancing the personal with the team.

16:27Which you're not doing it for yourself. But when you keep getting asked, you keep hearing the real chance. PCA, MVP, right? It's not easy to deal with. So hopefully, with Shohei on the shelf pitching, it kind of frees him up. No, he can just go out and play. And not have to put more pressure on himself, I would say. It doesn't seem like he's putting pressure on himself. But we were talking about this last night. About the Covey's, Rousey. At what point they lost again to the burrs. At what point we were talking about. At what point in the clubhouse, you start shifting to the wild card. Is good enough, right? And you will. What do you mean by that? Yeah. And I think, I think we were talking about just the excitement of the postseason and how to get in. And you were saying, you know, in 15, it was such a boost for us to be the second wild card team. So can you just stop giving the attention, the the the small town, look at our guys, no one knows who we are.

22:39They're about to win the division for the four straight year in a row. So yeah, they're loaded. He's loaded. And he's a genius. He's a genius. He plays the card of the the small underdog team. When you know, I don't know if he's not necessarily wrong. I respect the hell of Pat Murphy. I think he's a great manager, a great human being. But I love when he just gets on his. Yeah, no one knows who we are. It just you see it eat a live fence. That's funny. Hey, I don't want to skip this because we're talking about that wild card push. The Cubs are a half a game back of the Phillies. You don't want to go into Philadelphia if you're a Cubs fan. And try to win at that at the back. That's what I'm saying. That's how I think the bank electric. It is, but making the playoffs is electric. You know what I mean? So it's like, there's has to be a way if they don't get that home feel to take. Appreciate that they are in the playoffs. Last year, they appreciated their in the playoffs.

23:41They play with that passion. This year will be a little bit of a disappointment. If they don't get home field, right? It doesn't look like they can catch the brewers with 17 or 18 games last. We got to call a spade a spade, but if God forbid, they don't get to that first wild card seed. I feel like that team will be so deflated and it's going to be on the players. So really, you know, rally and be excited. Whether you get the first card, the second card, or shit, if you fall down the third seed, who cares? You know what I mean? You're in the playoffs. You anything can happen. You have really good starting pitching. The bullpen will get hot, hopefully. Well, that's not what I was saying. That's defensively. There's a lot of positives if you're boy pitch good last night. Boy pitch good. God really. Well, well, play you play home. I got. They've got to get it. Polencia gets back and his feet under him and get back to really letting it eat. He looks like to me. He looks a little bit leaner coming off the I.L.

24:41And I don't know if that's a little bit of something they were working on or not, but balls just not coming out right now. Yeah. Like he used to eat and use these last just like judge get get get the momentum going. And we they get the bullpen locked in. I think it's thinking when the world series. I'll go on record saying that. But the bullpen's got to start pitching pitching better because they've got the starters now. They've got three really starters. They're pitching really good and you know, figuring out that football. Pitching and defense if they they could score some runs early too. They have a elite offense. One of the best in the league. If not the best in the league. You put pressure on these teams especially in a three game series and the five game series and they believe that they're built for seven game series which I think they are as well. This year's done. I'm already having all these bad dots. X-ray comes back negative. I stay in the game, right? And then I hit a double. I was like, yeah, fuck yeah. That's why you always stay in the game. But that hit by pitch by Chappie. He's just so intimidating. He throws 100 miles an hour for the last 10 plus years. And he's still doing it and he's still adapting. That's the most impressive. The impressive.

29:46The most impressive thing to me. Yeah, yeah. He's still adapting to the league. And he's time. I'm a slider. It used to be all heaters. The slider is real. The split is real. I mean, what is he did against Atlanta braves who are obviously like having a great season and a really good offense. They, these guys that was, that was, that was dominant. Bro, he in August. 34 innings, pitch, one, three ERA, 46 punchouts. I remember going there before they let go of Rob Thompson and he's just got off to a slow start.

32:51And I just saying, I was just talking to him a little bit. I mean, bro, you're good. Like, he's nasty. He's a good kid. He works hard. He does all the right things. It seems like I, I didn't ever play with him, but just everything I heard. Since June 10th, he's had the lowest ERA in the most strikeouts in baseball. Playing at Citizens Bank Park. You know what I mean? Like that's not an easy park to pitch at. The ball flies there, especially in the summertime. So, I mean, he's been underrated all year. I think when you get off to a slow start, you just go underrated all year. It doesn't matter how good you are, which is sometimes a good thing. But that three head of monster man, Sanchez, Zach Wheeler and Jesus, they're gonna be tough, bro. I know they're loaded. Shout out to our producer, Chris Trinney's a big filly's guy. And you know, as when you get to the post season and you get that push, the experience year before going all the way to the World Series and you get catch your hot streak, the confidence goes through the roof and you know what it's like to play pressure based on. And they just played the last game of the season last year, you know what I mean? There was one game. There was there's the final game of the season they played in the last year. They didn't win. They almost did by a centimeters. That World Series hangover run is real. And now they're kicking into gear going into playoffs that I would just imagine in that clubhouse. It's like, Hey, we got this. We've been here before. You know, it's different vibes, but when they start believing it seems like they're starting to believe there in Toronto again. You've got that three headed monster talking about the Phillies and we talk about Sherser's back throwing the ball well and Cease is a Saiyong candidate. They pitch it and having a phenomenal year.

35:53They try to get Soriano from the Angels. Yeah. So it was like a yeah, I mean consistent pitching is going to keep you in that race and they've got that right now. You know, and they've got an easy schedule down the stretch. They've got. Yeah, they can only play the red socks, right? Yeah. Yeah, only play off team. They play down the stretch. So that doesn't really matter. And so when it comes to September, in my opinion, when teams are playing spoiler, but yeah, I mean, the Astros are getting hot and they're. Astros don't get enough love. The Astros don't get enough love. Your dawn Alvarez is, you know, the triple crown right now. And I think they're so underrated. Like they've got winners all around that team. Some young guys mixed in and their starters are starting to throw the ball better. That's been their kind of Achilles heel all year long. They've got Hader on the back. They're going to lock down any W with him. He's having a great year and done get talked about.

36:53But the Astros are flying under the radar with your dawn as well and going to be the American. I think he's got the American League MVP locked up. Oh, 100% right? I mean, yeah. Well, they fire their GM like a month ago. They didn't go out at the deadline and make moves to iOS is weak. But again, it's another one of these teams where they get in in the three game series. They can beat anyone, you know what I mean? And they have they have experience. They have guys that have been there. One world series. They've done it. So the Astros. I wouldn't say they've been talking about enough because they're the records sitting around 500. So it's hard to talk about them when you have guys like. But they're leading their division in a crappy one with Texas. And how about the Orioles? You know what I mean? Like this division in the iOS is going to decide itself.

37:58The AL Central is close. The White Sox and the Guardians. It's like the what it feels like the White Sox all year have just been in first place, been in first place. And then you look up and the Guardians are a game or two behind them. And then the last two, three, four years, the Guardians just come out of nowhere in September and make a run, right? So it's going to be this next three weeks of baseball buckle up. I mean college football is back. We are back. Let's go. We have terrible calls going on with the Michigan game, right? The FSU game last night. The lights didn't work. And FSU, he gets the lights to work. Wayne Kiffin is walking down with our bets. Heather falling off. I think there was like 900 credentials for celebrities at the LSU game. Did you see any of this? I mean, the scenes from Baton Rouge, Louisiana for LSU. It looked electric. What? I mean, I've been to a few LSU games. If you, if you're a college football fan, you need to go to Baton Rouge and experience a game in Death Valley, a night game.

38:58It is the most electric atmosphere of all time. And then I hear people saying that that game itself, the intensity was as loud as it's ever been. I mean, all of my favorite time here. Playoff. And games would take forever and there'd be a million pitching changes. And when you're a playoff race and you're facing guys that you've never seen before,

45:08that is a big advantage for the other team. So I like the strategy of the game. Does it prevent minor leagueers from getting a chance to play in the Bigs? No, if that's, this isn't a, this isn't a charity league, right? Thank you, I mean, thank you. You've got to earn your way to the bit. Yeah. And sometimes the opportunity isn't there and you maybe are knocking on the doorstep, you don't get the opportunity, but we're not just, as a big league, you're not just handing out, you know, you once you're a big league or a big league or for life, whether it's one day in the big leagues or, yeah, or 20 years, you know, the goal is not to see many people we can get in the big leagues. That's not the goal, you know, and it's such a disadvantage for the integrity of the game. I always thought when you get to call up all, you know, a team that's in the playoff hunt is, you know, they're not using these call ups. They're kind of emergency or backups are given somebody at rest that maybe they clench early, but the teams that aren't in, they're using that as a development and to see if

46:10guys are really good and playing a bunch of young guys, you don't know. And so it's just like, you don't, you know, the league hadn't figured them out yet. They're not have a lot of the bats and, you know, you can lose some games that way with some, some teams out of it playing young guys that are talented, which is great, but if they're talented enough, they'll be there when they've earned it and, and kind of making the 26 man roster or 28 man roster and they can see those guys. And now they're bringing up an extra pitcher to cover some meanings and also maybe a speed guy like a lot of people bring up just somebody to pinch run to steal a big base late in the season. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I like the rule. Maybe they can add a, maybe one more pitcher just to have length on the bullpen, but, yeah, it just goes back to starting pitch and these go deeper, right? I mean, I think you go to the league. Well, there's an elite starting pitcher on the line. You want to go and see them go seven and it ain't not five. This is that lead us into our next question, which is really good segue from Anna Hyde,

47:12Rizzo. I was at the game, y'all played at the Braves in 2021 where I managed where you struck out Freddie Freeman. And we can talk about that, but I also want to ask our fans. There's only been three position players to hit over 300 home runs and strike out all the favor. Oh, MVP. MVP. MVP. Sorry. MVP. MVP. And who are those, Anthony? Babe Ruth. Ever heard of him? Show how Tony. Ever heard of him? Anthony Rizza. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Let's give it up. Shout out. Shout out. Big 44. Yeah. But is that a top moment of my career? Maybe fun wise, accolade, accomplishments wise? No, but this game's all about having fun and it's a memory. I've always wanted to pitch. I really did.

49:18And it was great to be on the mound and to have fun and make light of a crappy situation when you're losing like that. That's where I feel like now in the game today, it's like these guys come in and they just throw like they're lobbing it. It's like, and I understand you're scared of getting hurt, but we throw. We throw every single day. Just get up there, play catch with the catcher. You don't need to be lobbing balls in and making a mockery of pitching. Go have fun, right? That's my opinion. I had fun when I did it. And when you have fun when you do it, it gives a boost to your team. You're losing by however many. You're punting on the game already, right? I remember Rossi U pitch and you hit a home run. Like that gave us so much energy going into the next day after a loss. Where now guys just come in, they lob it. It's almost embarrassing, right? The lob pitches and they give up all these runs and it deflates the team even more. When a position player came in, it was always fun. It was like, all right, we lost. Have a good time.

50:18Have fun with it, right? That's my opinion. No, I'm with you. I'm with you. I think I'm a big proponent of and the debate of like, I think we need a run rule. We've added some really good things to the game, some rules to the game, adjustments to the game. And I get fans come to see night innings, but you want to see a position player pitch when it's not just fun, when it's like the seventh, eighth inning, you know, and the game just get completely out of hand. I don't think that's fun for fans. And, you know, we need to do some kind of, you know, research, what's the biggest comeback after the seventh and set that as a run rule, you know, for me. They're all the whole safety rules. The whole run rule. I don't know about that. I don't know about that. If it's like 12 runs after the seventh commissioner. I think we're good. The manager, the manager gets pissed off like the manager brings him in. You're trying to set the goal as the managers win as many games possible. And it's embarrassing as hell. Like, that's the worst, bro.

51:19That's the worst. I was an embarrassing when I did it. When you put me in, it wasn't embarrassing. Well, then I had to come take you out of the game because I had to protect my, one of my best players and I took the ball. I wouldn't got the ball from you after that. I took you out of the game after that. And I had to bring in another position player. That's five or zero. I'm good. Yeah. You and me both. Yeah. I never, when I was at the Yankees, Boone would not let me pitch. He said that, I don't know if this is true or not, but he said that they called down from the front office and said, I'm not allowed to pitch when I got over there. And I'm like, what? That's bullshit. I go, look at my tape. Like, so any time there was a, we had to blow out one way or the other. I'd go get my regular glove and I would just start stretching my arm in front of Booney or Brad Austin is our bench coach. But I'm ready guys. Whenever you need me, right? Never got the pitch. I thought that'd be cool to pitch at Yankees stadium. It says a little kid in me. Good question, Anna. Hide. Great question. Our last one is from Nick. Email from Nick.

52:20Is there any truth that on Getaway Day concentration is more difficult? Are you guys swinging earlier than normal? That's a good question. That's a good question. That's a good question. I mean, drinks we had to have been a good, well, Saturday night with. No, just kidding. I always thought, Getaway Days, you know, you're like screaming in the dugout, happy flight, right? That should be on a t-shirt, happy flight. Meaning like we want to get on that plane and be celebrating at W. And that's kind of the last game of a series in general. Even if you've lost the first two, you want to get on that plane and feel good about yourself, the team. Until we used to always tell happy flight. And then after that W, you're high five and everybody's yelling happy flight. And we're getting ready to enjoy a nice, some nice downtime on the plane. But I don't think the concentrate, I think concentrating on a day game, especially with teams that we had the pleasure, I think, of playing a lot of day games at Wrigley because of the Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

53:20But most teams play all night games until Sunday, which is usually Getaway Day. And it's hard to get up for those games when your body's used to playing at night all the time, especially guys like Anthony who played every single day. And that quick turnaround for their body was always tough. And that's mentally and physically. So you could probably speak to a little bit more being an everyday player, Riz. But I always thought the happy flight thing, which one of those like, let's lock it in, boys, win this last one and get out of here with a good feeling. Yeah, the only guys are definitely not swinging earlier than normal. So I would say no to that question. The only game guys actively are yelling at each other to swing on the first pitch is the last game of the season, right? Or the last game of spring training. Like nobody cares. Nobody cares. Nobody cares. Let's get the hell out of spring training, right? The Getaway Day. I mean, looking back, you can see like if we were out west or something and going into an off day day game, you're coming off the west coast.

54:23Maybe your one foot's back in the city you're going to or something like that. But at the end of the day, when the game starts, your concentration level is what it's as high as it can be, right? So sometimes you're 100 out of 100. Sometimes you only have 70% of concentration, but you're giving 100% of that. So I don't think there's really much truth to the Getaway Day stuff, but I'm sure there is something there. Last day of the season and last day of spring training. Yeah. Last day of the season. Last day of spring training. You're like, if you take a strike, it's $100.5. Yeah. Like, yeah. Yeah. Everybody who takes the first pitch strike, it's a Hyundai. Yeah. And then there's sometimes where you just need to get out of Dodge. There's times when we were at Riggly or even when I was the Yankees at Yankee Stadium, there's just times where you need to get on the road. Where the two months, it was just the team wasn't playing well. There was, it just felt too heavy at your home field. You ever feel that before? Where you're just need to go, like kind of reset on the road and then get back to playing
