Sabres Secure Shutout Win, Tie for Eastern Lead

The Buffalo Sabers picked up a solid two-nothing win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday

9th at T-Mobile Arena.

Luko, Peca Luconin, was sharpened net for Buffalo, stopping all 27 shot T-Faced for his first

shutout of the season.

That marks Luconin's eighth career blank sheet in the National Hockey League.

Josh Dones scored the game's first goal late in the opening period, and Josh Norris added

an empty netter in the final minute to seal it.

The Sabers have been on fire since the Olympic break, going 10 wins, 1 loss, and no overtime

losses.

Their record now sits at 42 wins, 20 losses, and 6 overtime losses, putting them tied with

the Carolina Hurricanes for first in the Eastern Conference.

Carolina stumbled with a 5-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets that same night, though they

do have one game in hand.

Meanwhile, Vegas goalie Adin Hill made 23 saves, but couldn't hold the lead.

The Golden Knights, who had won their previous two games, fought to 31 wins, 23 losses,

and 14 overtime losses, that dropped them to third in the Pacific Division, one point

behind both the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks.
