And in today's video, I want to share with you not only how you can eliminate progress the nation, but also how to become super productive and also how to begin actually genuinely enjoying the work that you do every single day. Over the last couple of years, this is one of the biggest lessons that I've learned and I've always found that my motivation was inconsistent and I would ride with the highs and lows of how I felt. But even before that, I sort of knew this lesson, but I kind of forgot. Okay, so by the end of this video, not only am I gonna share with you how you can overcome it, but I'm also gonna help you gain an understanding of your own psychology so that you can hack it so you can make yourself perform the way that you'd want to. Before I begin this video, and to quickly announce that you can now access our exclusive email list where you can get access to bonuses and stuff that I share in our exclusive email list
that I can't really share on the channel because of YouTube's platform limitations. In order to access that, just go to the pinned comments down in the box below, down in the comment section below. And you'll be able to click on a link that'll take you to a separate page where it'll ask for your first name and your email address and you'll be able to access our exclusive email list so you can access some exclusive content. So without further delay, let's go right ahead and get started. Today I wanna talk about procrastination and I have talked about this topic time and time again, but I realized that I've never really articulated it in the way that I wanted to, in a way that made sense. And recently I've had an epiphany over the last year about how I work and how to manipulate my own psychology so that you can access that level of performance every single day, okay? Now, the biggest misconception, let's begin with that in this community and the personal development community, is that procrastination is caused by laziness, okay? And this couldn't be farther from the truth.
So I want you to investigate this belief of laziness. When you call someone lazy, when you call yourself lazy, first of all, it's not good for your self-image. It's also not good for the other person's self-image. Second of all, I don't truly believe anyone's really lazy. You know, if you gave someone a good enough reason to do something, they'd do it. When you call like a student who plays video games all the time lazy, they're not really lazy. They're playing video games all the time, right? They're intensely focused on that video game. They're excited by it. So everyone is excited by something if they have, you know, normal, healthy lifestyle and they don't have anything like any hormonal imbalances or they don't suffer through any sort of mental issue, right? So in that sense, everyone is excited by something. We just need to know what that something is. We just need to know how to manipulate our psychology so that we know what that something is. For some kids, it's video games. For other kids, you know, they discover that they really want to excel to the top of their class and get really good grades.
So for them, studying and doing school work becomes the video game, right? So we need to discover what it is that unlocks that within us. And this is where manipulating your mind and hacking your mind really comes in. The real cause of procrastination of putting things off and not wanting to do them is simply, you don't have a good enough motive. Okay, you don't have a good enough reason. It's literally just motive that's preventing you from doing the thing that you need to do right now. Okay, so to give you an example of this, I thought about starting up a business, I even thought about starting up this YouTube channel for such a long time before I actually started it. I was thinking about starting up a YouTube channel a year before I actually started it. So I started thinking about it in 2017. But then back then, I was really shy, really nervous, and I had a bad experience starting up a YouTube channel before I got picked on at school. Like I was sharing guitar tutorials, and then one day in like home room or, you know, in the UK, I think it was called tutorial time.
Someone like posted all of these videos and showed the whole class and then the teacher started to play it in front of everyone. And I was like, oh my God, what's going on? Right, and then I got picked on for it for a very long time. So then I was nervous about starting up another YouTube channel because I was traumatized by that experience. So I was living in the past, I was reliving that memory over and over again. So now you might be asking, how did you get over that to help you start it? That's exactly what we're gonna get into. And it took me a year from the point of thinking about, okay, I should start a YouTube channel, I should try to start up a business to actually doing it, right? So back then I didn't have a good enough motive to do it. But after a year, I actually gained a good enough motive. I had a good enough reason to do it, okay? So now let's get into the three keys that you need to understand in order to find out your core drivers, your core motive so that you can access it every single day. So before I get to that,
you know, there's gonna be a lot of misconceptions that I'm going to uncover in this and I've only come across, come to these conclusions through personal experience, not just by Googling something. One of the misconceptions, by the way, is when you don't like a task, you start to believe that, oh, this wasn't meant for me, right? But there's always things in that task that you'll enjoy. For example, I used to think that, at one point I was like, oh, I don't like making videos anymore, maybe I'm just gonna stop making videos. But it wasn't that I didn't like making videos. I didn't like the pressure that the videos, like I didn't like the place that I was coming from when I was making these videos, right? I was making these videos from a place of, all right, you know, I wanna get something, I wanna get some views from this, I wanna get some subscribers from this, I wanna get some clients from this, and that's what I was thinking when I was making these videos. So I was always optimizing for, all right, what's the popular topic everyone's looking for? What should I talk about in today's video that'll get me some clients? So I was always looking to get something when I was making those videos.
And when I made those, they didn't perform as well as the ones that I make, you know. Propel Fitness Water with Gatorade Electrolites, Zero Sugar and Vitamins. Propel hydrates better than water to help you get the most out of your workout and get back to your best self. What propels you? Propel with Gatorade Electrolites. I get so many headaches every month. It could be chronic migraine, 15 or more headache days a month, each lasting four hours or more. Botox on a botchaline mtoxin A prevents headaches and adults with chronic migraine. It's not for those who have 14 or fewer headache days a month. Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor. Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. A lurcher doctor right away is difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue and headache. A lurcher reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection.
Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, including ALS Lugeric's disease, myasthenia, gravis or Lambert Eaton syndrome, and medications including botchaline mtoxins as these may increase the risk of serious side effects. Why wait? Ask your doctor. Visit BotoxCronicMigraine.com or call 1-800-44 Botox to learn more. Visible puts unlimited 5G data in hot spot in the palm of your hand, powered by Verizon's 5G network, with no contract holding you back. And for a limited time, you can get visible for just $19 a month for 12 months when you use promo code Save6. All the features of Big Wireless Service, for half the cost. Tap the banner to switch today. Terms apply, standard rate applies at month 13, seevisible.com for plan features and network management details. I've been making recently when I've really been feeling, this is what I actually wanna share with people. So there's gonna be a lot of misconceptions we're gonna cover, such as that, believing truly that one task is for you and isn't for you.
But you can manipulate your psychology to enjoy whatever task it is you're doing. There's always gonna be little things in whatever it is you're doing that you enjoy, that you can just take and large and you make that the center of your focus as opposed to the things you don't enjoy about that making video. So if you're someone who struggles and you know you wanna make videos, then that might be helpful for you too. So the number one key you need to understand in order to eliminate procrastination, start enjoying your work and actually being excited to wake up and do what you want every day, is your core drivers, like what really drives you? Your core drivers are different from someone else's core drivers because your experience as a human being is unique compared to anyone else's. But in that we have general principles of how human beings behave. We always want to move away from pleasure, move away from pain, pain and we want to move towards pleasure.
So the red here is pain. I hope you can see that and the green is pleasure. So as human beings we will do everything in our power to move away from pain and move towards pleasure. But most of all, get this. We want to move away from pain more than we want to move towards pleasure. We want to avoid pain more than we want pleasure. Like you would rather not get hurt than like you would rather not lose $100 than make $200. Right? And sometimes that can act to our detriment because that's our survival conditioning. That prevents us from taking the necessary risks that we need to take in order to move forward. And that's what keeps human beings in their comfort zone. Okay? The inability to take necessary risks. So once we understand the principle of pain and pleasure we have to understand what's our biggest pain. So when you want to do something, what's the pain that you want to move away from? That's making you do this. When you want to do something, what's the pleasure that you want to move towards after you've done something?
Right? Understanding those simple things will allow you to manipulate your psychology. Which brings me to another big misconception. A lot of people in this space, they're constantly trying to get rid of fear. They're trying to get rid of anxiety. They're trying to get rid of nervousness. Okay? So they believe that fear, anxiety and nervousness equals bad. So they are under the belief that having fear is bad, having anxiety is bad, having, being nervous is bad. Okay? And when you believe these things about those feelings you can't go to the other side of fear and grow from it. Right? You're never willing to challenge yourself and expand your comfort zone because you're always under the belief that whenever that feeling comes up, I have to get rid of it. I have to run away from it instead of run towards it. The only way to grow is to run towards your fears and come out the other side of it.
It's to confront your fears and your nervousness and your anxiety. Okay? This brings me to another point, a subtle distinction. Which a lot of people miss out and I learned this originally from Tim Ferris and his book, Four Hour Workweek. And this is simply, there's a difference between D-stress, so distress and U-stress, EU, ST, RE, double S. If you can see that, D-stress is when we constantly ruminate in our minds and we self-deprecate and we put ourselves down and we damage our self-image. That's when we get distressed. When we constantly think about something even though we're not in the moment of doing it. U-stress, however, is that good stress that makes us perform at our best. So I was reading this book recently about like championship golf players, championship athletes and they all describe that they want to feel nervous. They want to feel those butterflies in their stomachs. Right?
Because that feeling itself drives them to perform to the best of their ability. Please think about that for a second. How much time do you spend trying to get rid of that feeling versus using that feeling? There's something in there for you. A lot of the times when we become closed off, when we feel those feelings of performance anxiety or of showing up on stage or doing some presentation and we try to run away from it and resist it, we're actually doing more harm than good because when you have a feeling instead of welcoming it and letting it be, you start to resist it, you create more resistance around the resistance and you enter what's called the feedback loop of hell. It's just, you know, you feel bad about feeling bad and then you feel bad about feeling bad about feeling bad. And then you're just in your head and it just feels like you're trapped in a prison cell. Right? It's just like your mind becomes this prison cell that you can't escape from. But the next time you feel something like fear, nervousness and anxiety, maybe you're about to step up on stage,
maybe you're about to take a crucial sales call maybe there's a lot of importance tied to some performance or some game you're playing. Learn to look at that fear, nervousness and anxiousness as something that's serving you. And when you start to view it as that and you accept it, you actually instead of becoming closed off and resisting it, you become open and accepting of it. When that happens, now you can utilize this. Now you have the choice to utilize this to help you perform at your best. And I learned this lesson when I was like, I think I was in middle school and I was in a play and I went up on stage and I was really nervous, but instead of... Propel Fitness Water. With Gatorade Electrolites, Zero Sugar and Vitamins, Propel hydrates better than water to help you get the most out of your workout and get back to your best self. What propels you? Propel with Gatorade Electrolites. Visible puts unlimited 5G data and hotspot in the palm of your hand.

Everything you need to lock in and unlock your potential at Equinox. Start today at Equinox.com. Resisting that was like, oh, what's the worst that could happen? I'm gonna fuck up and look silly. I mean, I already got bullied anyways. So how bad can it get? And when I thought about that, I took the pressure off myself and that gentriness that I had actually made me perform better. It may be pay attention, it may be careful. It may be, you know, be more deliberate about my actions. So that's exactly what will happen.
So understand the difference between distress and use stress and use use stress to advantage. And the key takeaway I want you to take from this is feeling anxiousness, nervousness, anxiety isn't bad. It's just telling you something. It's just energy, latent energy that is waiting to be used by you, by the conscious observer of it. Okay? That's number one in core desires. Now, number two is elaborating on it in which we're gonna talk about how to utilize your core drivers. And in order to utilize your core drivers, this is the part where we manipulate and hack our minds. We simply ask ourselves two questions, okay? Number one is if I procrastinate on this, if I keep putting this off another day, another week, another month, what am I potentially giving up? What am I sacrificing?
A lot of people have found a lot of motivation when they think about it as if I don't sacrifice for my dreams, then my dreams become the sacrifice. I've said that before and I've heard that before as well. And so I've said it on the channel. A lot of people are like, oh my God, yeah, this is so true. If I don't sacrifice for my dreams, then my dreams become the sacrifice. So ask yourself, what are you sacrificing when you don't do something that you've told yourself that you're gonna do? When I think about that, when I make a commitment and I don't show up for myself, I think about, wait a second, what am I sacrificing by putting this off? Sometimes what happens is the perfectionist tendency takes over the fear of failure, takes over to the point where you believe, if I don't try it all, I'm not gonna fail, but that's not true. Because if you don't try it all, that you're literally by definition failing, right? If you don't show up at all, then you're automatically failing. As opposed to, if you actually try and fail, then you have a potential to succeed. So a lot of people, they can't make those connections in their minds because the center of their world
and the feelings becomes, or failing is bad. Oh, judging myself is bad. And I would rather just keep putting this off because if I put this off, then I can never fail. But that's not true, right? So ask yourself, this is aligned towards pain, by the way. When you ask yourself, what am I sacrificing? You're basically feeling the pain of what you want to move away from. When I put off this ad campaign that I wanna do, or that email that I wanted to write, or that video I wanted to make, what am I sacrificing? So I think about those core things that got me started here in the first place. My why? Like, why did I get started with this channel? Why did I get started with this business? Because I wanted to be exceptional. When I don't do the things that I commit to, then I am not being exceptional. I'm being mediocre, and I don't want to be mediocre. I don't want to be a failure. So I would rather try and fail than not try at all than and automatically fail, right?
So you have to get clear on this black hat driver. There's two types of drivers that we have. The black hat driver, which is the pain driver, what do we wanna move away from? And the white hat driver, which is, what do I want to move towards? What's the pleasure that I want to move towards? So naturally, the second question becomes, if I did do this, what could I potentially gain from it? What could I potentially gain? So if there's an assignment that you have to do or marketing campaign, like, okay, well, if I were to do this marketing campaign, if I were to launch that ad and really make that ad, what could I potentially gain from it? Even if I don't succeed in the nearer term, I would at least get feedback. At the very least, I would get some feedback that would allow me to improve and move one step closer to my dreams. Right, so these are the two questions you've gotta keep top of mind all the time.
When you're on the verge of putting off things, that you basically are planning on putting off and procrastinating on once again. By the way, guys, these three keys are so, like, they're so crucial, but they're not the only things. These are definitely three of the biggest things, but you've gotta combine these with how you view yourself, yourself image, like what character you're choosing to become, what identity you're forming. And the final thing that you've gotta combine this with to get the maximum efficacy from it is to gain clarity. And I actually spoke about this in, I believe it was two videos ago. So I'm gonna put a link in the description below on how you can gain clarity, because if you gain clarity around what it is you want, who it is you've gotta become, and why it is you've got started in all of these things in the first place, you form a mission for your life. And it becomes really, really clear every single day what you're moving towards. There is no room for procrastination. It's just, all right, this is a clear step.
I'm just going to take this one step, and then this other step, right? A lot of the times people procrastinate because they're not clear. They keep putting things off because they just don't, they can't see it happening in their mind's eye. Again, there's not a good enough reason to do it because they don't believe it's possible. As human beings, we would never do things that we don't believe would be possible. What's the point in wasting my efforts doing something that I don't even believe is possible to be achieved? So this is what. Pell Fitness Water. With Gatorade Electrolites, Zero Sugar, and Vitamins, Prypell hydrates better than water to help you get the most out of your workout and get back to your best self. What propels you? Prypell with Gatorade Electrolites. I get so many headaches every month. It could be chronic migraine, 15 or more headache days a month, each lasting four hours or more. Your self-image, your self-belief, and your world belief, your world view comes in. If you don't believe some task is possible of being achieved, then you're never gonna do it. If you don't think you're capable of doing something, you're never gonna do it. So this is why in our reality marshy program, we work at the fundamental level. In identifying your core desires first, what you want for your life first, because there's all of these, you know, additional supplemental desires that don't really matter, that got conditioned into us by society. We wanna remove those and figure out what those core desires are. So go watch that video in, you know, how to gain clarity, I'm gonna put it in the description below, but that's number one. And the other thing that I found to be really, really important was to create self-imposed deadlines, okay? Self-imposed deadlines. What do I mean by this?
A lot of the times, people battle with artificial deadlines, where these are created like external, not internal deadlines, external deadlines. So there's this law that I also learned from Tim Faire's, actually, he calls, I think it's called the Parkinson's law, where if you set yourself a certain amount of time to complete a task, for example, if you have to write one email and you set yourself a month to write an email, you're going to wait till the last day of that month to write that email. So Parkinson's law states that whatever task you set in whatever period of time, that task will expand out to fit that period of time. So for example, if you set yourself 15 minutes as opposed to a month to complete that same email, and you really ground that deadline in your mind, I like, okay, it's 12.30 right now by 12.45, we're gonna finish this. You'll literally finish it by 12.45, no joke. Like you'll finish that email within 15 minutes. So create the self-imposed deadlines. Don't wait for external and artificial,
those outside deadlines to catch up to you, make your own deadlines and make them sooner. As an entrepreneur, this is the most important thing you can do. A lot of the entrepreneurs nowadays, they want to get into entrepreneurship, but they can't succeed because they've been used to some employer giving them some deadline. They're not used to staying true to their word, and that's why they can't succeed as entrepreneurs. Part of being an entrepreneur is being disciplined to your own word and always, always committing to whatever you say, okay, you're holding yourself accountable, learning to hold yourself accountable, is the number one skill you can learn as an entrepreneur in a business owner, right? So gain clarity, create your own goals and self-impose deadlines. Now deadlines don't have to be super serious. And again, I describe this in the gain clarity video because most of the time you can also create these detrimental deadlines where you're like, all right, if I don't achieve this now, I'm gonna die, right? And that kind of pressure doesn't help you out. You wanna create positive pressure,
not negative pressure that discourages you from working on the things that you wanna work on, right? So that video describes the balance between the two. So with that, I conclude this video. Thank you so much for watching us and Cili helped us as helpful. Let's do a quick recap of what we talked about today. Today we talked about procrastination and I gave you a brief sort of three key kind of way to help you eliminate procrastination and actually begin to get excited about what you're doing every single day, right? The biggest misconception is that procrastination is something that's caused by laziness, that is completely untrue. I don't believe that for one bit. I don't believe human beings are lazy. They just lack energy because they're not getting proper nutrition. They don't have a proper hormonal balance. Those are the physical reasons you've gotta take care of those first. But more than that, they don't have a good enough motive to do something. They have a good enough, kids have a good enough reason to play video games because they have some character to level up or some championship to win in a video game
in some sports game or whatever. So whenever you're setting those goals in your business, you just don't have a good enough motive to do it, so you keep putting it off. And to give you an example of that, I didn't have a good enough motive to start up my business when I thought about it a year before actually starting up my business. When I actually start up my business, I had a very good reason to start up my business because I was deeply dissatisfied. I felt pain towards my situation and looking at what my life could potentially turn out if I continued at the job I was at at the time. I've set that fear in advance. Like if I continue on like this, what am I potentially sacrificing? And when I felt that pain, I went ahead and I had a good enough motive to start up my business and I were actually given a try, right? So then we talked about the three keys to help you eliminate procrastination, hack your mind so you can be productive. Number one is finding out your own core drivers and understanding that we wanna move away from pain fundamentally move towards pleasure.
What is it that's really painful for you? What is it that you're trying to move towards? What's your core drive? I found out that my core drive is I don't want to be mediocre and I want to be exceptional. I want to move away from mediocreity and average and I want to be exceptional at everything that I do. So you've gotta find out what your core drives are. And the biggest misconception again, is that fear, anxiety and nervousness are bad. They're not, they're necessary. We just don't know most people just don't know how to use them and athletes who are at the top of their game, they know how to use them. They don't resist the fears, doubts and anxieties. They just use them to help them perform better. You know, really good athletes use doubts. You know, as a scientist seeing, like as a scientist, I should verify what I'm doing constantly so that I don't make mistakes, so that I perform at the best. And this brings me to understanding the difference between de-stress and use stress.
De-stresses when you're unnecessarily ruminating on some propel fitness water with Gatorade electrolytes, zero sugar and vitamins propel hydrates better than water to help you get the most out of your workout and get back to your best self. What propels you propel with Gatorade electrolytes? Visible puts unlimited 5G data in hotspot in the palm of your hand powered by Verizon's 5G network with no contract holding you back. And for a limited time, you can get visible for just $19 a month for 12 months when you use promo code Save6. All the features of Big Wireless Service, for half the cost. Tap the banner to switch today. Terms apply, standard rate applies at month 13, see visible.com for plan features and network management details. I get so many headaches every month. It could be chronic migraine, 15 or more headache days a month, each lasting four hours or more. Botox on a botchaline mtoxin A prevents headaches and adults with chronic migraine. It's not for those who have 14 or fewer headache days
for a month. Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor. Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. A lurcher doctor right away is difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems or muscle weakness can be signs of a life threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue and headache. A lurchic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, including ALS Lugeric's disease, myasthenia-gravis or Lambert Eaton Syndrome and medications, including botchaline mtoxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects. Why wait, ask your doctor, visit BotoxCronicMyGreen.com or call 1-800-44 Botox to learn more. Something that happened in the past that doesn't serve you. And one really great example of this I got was, you know, athletes like Michael Jordan, they will, you know, Michael Jordan would, after a game, whenever he would make a mistake, he would only spend an hour identifying his mistakes and then he would forget all about him.
He would constantly ruminate on the mistake, like, oh, what's the error that I made? Oh, man, I hope I don't make that error again. That's distress. That's unnecessarily replaying these events that don't serve you. The whole purpose of ruminating on it and reflecting on it is to find out what mistake you made and focus on the correct behavior. Because again, your subconscious can't tell between what you want to avoid and what you want to move towards. It's not that complex. It just focuses on a target. So if you're on a highway, you're looking at the car next to you and you're like, I want to avoid this car, you're going to move towards that car. We get target fixation. And then we talked about you stress, which is the good kind of stress, the good kind of nervousness, the good kind of anxiety that helps you actually fix up your shit and perform really well. Number two, we talked about how you can utilize those core drivers and we simply looked at two different questions. You've got to ask yourself, if I don't do this, if I'm putting this off right now, what am I actually sacrificing? And if I actually were to do this,

I would actually be proud of myself if I were to do it. That's a good enough reason for me. And number three, gaining clarity, gaining clarity on what you want for your life, who it is you would like to become. And if you were an alignment with that, if you were to do this, right? And I talked about the video that you can watch to help you gain clarity. And I also talked about self-imposed deadlines, creating your own deadlines and learning to be self-accountable as an entrepreneur. Now, so with that, I conclude this video. and who we typically work with are people who are entrepreneurs and business owners, who want to take their businesses to the next level, but they're seeing that they don't really have a business problem. They're not able to see the right tactics or strategies or they jump around between different tactics and strategies or they see that they're personal problems, their inability to handle their own mind, their own doubts, their own fears, not knowing how to handle it is what's causing, it's bleeding out into their businesses, into their trading or into their other areas of their lives, which is in turn having an effect on their finances.
