Seahawks Draft Julian Neal: Boosting Secondary

On April 25, Seattle Seahawks just snagged Arkansas Cornerback, Julian Neal, and the third

round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 99th, overall pick on April 24.

The defending Super Bowl champs added some serious backfield muscle with this move, grabbing

a guy who 6'1, 203 pounds, and built like he belongs in their defense.

Coming off losing Rick Woolen to the Eagles in free agency, Seattle needed corner depth

and Neal steps right in alongside Josh Job and Devon, witherspoon.

His versatility means he can lock down outside or slide into the slot, rounding out Mike

McDonald's squad as they chase another ring.

Neal balled out in his only full year at Arkansas, starting all 12 gains with 55 tackles, two

for loss, two picks, and 10 pass breakups.

He transferred from Fresno State after limited starts there, turning into the Razorback's

top corner on a secondary that struggled overall.

His NFL combine numbers pop 2, 4.49 in the 40-40-inch vertical, 11 feet 2 inches broadjump,

and 20 bench.

From a three star high school kid in California, playing multiple spots, Neal's rise feels

earned.

This pick bolster Seattle secondary for a repeat run, giving them that throwback edge while

Neal proves he can handle pro ball from day one.
