Seahawks Lock in Stars with 5th Year Options

The Seattle Seahawks just locked in their young stars by picking up the fifth year options

on cornerback Devon Witherspoon and wide receiver Jackson. Smith and Jigba securing both

through the 2027 season. These guys came into the league as first round picks back in 2023,

with Witherspoon going fifth overall and Smith and Jigba 20th.

That means Witherspoon set for about $21 million, $100,000 fully guaranteed next year, while

Smith and Jigba's lined up for, roughly $23 million, $800,000. Fans in the front office

are buzzing because these players have already delivered big time, including multiple

pro ball nods and all pro honors, helping the Seahawks snag Super Bowl 60 in 2025.

Witherspoon earned second team all pro status and a spot among the team's 50 greatest

players, while Smith and Jigba led the league in receiving yards, and picked up offensive

player of the year honors. Now the team is eyeing long-term extensions for both, following

the path they took with left tackle Charles Cross, the only other first rounder. They've

extended this option for recently.
