Seahawks Lose CB Woolen to Eagles

On March 11, the Seattle Seahawks are losing another key piece from their Super Bowl winning

defense.

Cornerback Ric Wullen has agreed to a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles worth

up to $15 million.

He confirmed the move with social media posts on Tuesday night.

This comes after safety.

Kobe Bryant also left a secondary that helps Seattle win Super Bowl 59 last month.

Wullen, a former fifth-round pick from the University of Texas at San Antonio, burst

onto the scene as a rookie starter.

He earned a pro bowl nod that year with a league leading six interceptions.

Fans grew frustrated with Wullen over some critical mistakes this season.

He got beat on a game-winning touchdown in week one against the San Francisco 49ers.

Later, in the NFC Championship versus the Los Angeles Rams, a taunting penalty he drew

led to another score that kept the Rams in the fight.

The Seahawks had mixed feelings about his highs and lows, especially lapses and focus

during big moments.

Even with Josh Joe resigning on a three-year deal, reportedly worth $24 million, Seattle's

cornerback death now looks shaky.

Wullen's size and speed give him huge potential, but those inconsistencies likely explain the

short-term contract.
