Seahawks Re-sign Shaheed, Unleashing Explosive Potential

Known as one of the NFL's most dynamic playmakers, Shaheed brings speed and big playability both as a receiver and return specialist. Last season, his chances in the passing game were limited, with just 26 targets over 9 regular season games. That came down to Jackson Smith and Jigba, locking down the top receiver spot, Cooper cup handling underneath routes and the team's heavy use of, 12 personnel packages plus a run-first approach. Even with those constraints, Shaheed flashed elite potential. He grabbed three of five deep targets over 20 air yards and earned a 92.4 receiving grade from pro football focus, second only to Smith and Jigba. Now heading into a full off season with the team, the Seahawks expect his skills to sharpen further. With Smith and Jigba drawing coverage and cup working short, Shaheed should find more space to stretch the field.
