And as Lee mentioned, college football week one almost finished until tonight, A.C.C. S.M.U. and Florida State hook up in Tallahassee and Lee will have picked on that coming up

1:02in just a moment. Obviously, no sort of storylines from week one of college football. We'll get to our thoughts on the Michigan debacle as well as some other things in college football, also a winning weekend on the show for college football. Also, a couple baseball picks as well here on this Labor Day. So Lee, let's get things going. Our only college football game. So it's our lock of the day. Open it, open it, open it. Lee has the key to the lock of the day. Florida State is 1-0. They beat New Mexico State in week zero and they did not cover his heavy favorites. But now they are flipped to a short underdog. We know Mike Morbel's team has struggled a bit in conference play over the last few seasons. And we'll see what they do tonight. Welcome in the Mustangs of S.M.U. and Lee, what do you like here with the Mustangs and the Nulls? Well, I don't think it was a flu that the Mexico State hung in that game last week. In fact, they're caught about tray head and not many people knew who he was, but kid

2:06performed pretty well. He was 26 for 42, 272 and two touchdowns. And if that receiver doesn't drop the half-back pass and the end zone where there wasn't a defender in 20 yards, that came might go down to the last drive. So I got some real reservations here about this Florida State team on offense. You look at some of the numbers, like top 30 in yards per game. They were also top 20 in explosive plays. But I look at their offensive linemen. They have a good running back. They have a good receiver in Robinson. Didn't play well in his first game. But they're offensive linemen. They just don't keep attacking defenders. It's not just that first hit. Everyone, every offensive lineman is going to come out and fire out. But it's what you do after that and going after guys at the next level, not seeing that. So I'm just seeing a lot of guys that just don't play with a whole lot of heart.

3:11I think their quarterback Daniels is a back-ups, back-up. If you've been a back-up in two different places, probably all of a sudden the green light's not going to come on. So not believe of their Kevin Jennings, quarterback for SMU, third year starting here. I think he's one of the top 10, 15 quarterbacks. And SMU people think they lost all their defensive linemen going into last year. That was a real weakness. They only gave up 3.3 yards per carry. And I actually think they'll be better this year. Had trouble against some of the better teams. But I think that they're going to be right up there. I don't know if it's certainly not my amy talent. But they might be right up there with Virginia. We're going to see tonight. This is going to be a real true test here. But I know the line switched around. I know Florida State was the favorite beforehand. And they performed so poorly in that opening game. Now there are 3.00 underdog. But I just can't back them here. I think Mike Norville's done. I think that he's going to be gone after the eighth week. If they lose this game, they're going to be 2 and 6 in my opinion.

4:13So we're going to lay it here. And we're going to go with a favorite little to lock SMU Mustangs over Florida State. And also too, just the struggles and conference play the last two years for Florida State. They barely beat Cal two years ago. They had a couple of wins towards the end of last season. But really, it's just been a major disappointment. And it's hard to have faith in them right now. Like you said, the quarterback, Carousel, it feels like over the last few years, they just haven't had the right guy. And if you can't, you've noticed with with chambles with all missed, what's the guy from even Louisville last night, some of those other quarterbacks that have played well, you don't have someone like that. You're not going to win. Florida State doesn't have enough around them to have mediocre quarterback play. No, no. And there's just something missing. I mean, there's no defensive players. I don't see a defensive player on that roster that I'm like, wow, I got to have this guy. So you see with good coaching, SAS players get better, just not seeing that development with Florida State. So I think Mike Norville knows it.

5:14I mean, hey, I'm a mining fan. I knew it with Randy Shannon. They gave him one more year and he hired a couple coordinators. Oh, we're going to turn it around. At that point, it's over. I know it now it's involves big, big money with guys like Mike Norville. But it's done. You know, you saw with Clemson. I mean, they're done. Dabo just doesn't have it anymore and doesn't have the heart. Not spending the time and finding the right recruits and got some money. But they don't want to spend it. Doesn't really want to go deep into the portal. So the weekend, pretty successful 3-1-1. The push was Michigan State against Toledo. They were laying 10. They were up double digits in that game. Toledo came back and then Michigan State ended up winning by 10. So that's a push. The three victories, though, Mimey SMU or Mimey Stanford, rather, the over on Friday, just easy out of the gate. It's funny.

6:14You said, oh, Stanford can get maybe 7-0 to 20 points. They didn't do that. But Mimey was responsible for pretty much all the points there. So quickly on that one, understand there's a major mismatch with those teams. But still, Mimey looks strong in their first game. They're all right. It's all about the offense. Stephen's going to have to fix some things. I think we're pretty sure right now that men's at a Tony is the greatest combination. I mean, Smith might be better for Ohio State, a little bit, different type of receiver. But this is the greatest combination we've seen maybe in the last 10, 20 years. If it's after one week, they could name co-winners. It would be these two guys. They were off the charts, incredible. And Mimey's going to score, I think, 40 plus points on anyone if they want to. Except for maybe Notre Dame. And also you had UCLA over Cal and UCLA is short favorite under Bob Chesney, who came over from James Madison, a good win in his debut. Yep. Good, really good coach and brought over some good players and said the Cal is going to be missing

7:19those two good linebackers. Well, they were only run on them for $279, $10, $279 yards. If you're a handicap that you were employing to pick games, pick Cal or you pick Cal on your own, you're in the world of hurt because you just were looking at that quarterback for Cal and thinking, oh, he's going to throw for yards, he's going to lead him to victory. You weren't digging deep enough and all you had to do is like said, look at those two losses of the great linebackers they had. We're enabled to fill it. And UCLA is not saying they're going to be up there, but they could be as good as Washington. They could be like the fourth, fifth, sixth best team in the Big 10 this year. Also Nebraska, you had them, they got to a bit of a slow start against Ohio, but they exploded late to cover that one. The lost though, I want to talk about this quickly, Lee. We'll get to the Michigan thing in a second. I know everyone wants to talk about that. But Ole Miss, there are 14 with six minutes left against Louisville. A couple of big plays from both sides in that game.

8:20Both quarterbacks played well. But unfortunately Louisville gets too late touchdowns. Ole Miss kicks the game when he field goal. They don't get the cover. But what did you think about that, how that final 8-10 minutes played out? So Trinidad Chamble is incredible, really, really good. Did it without his best receiver. I want to fast receivers in the country and maybe the best running back in the country. Lacey who were out during the game. But the thing that I'm going to take going forward here is, I don't know how Ole Miss is going to be that LSU. Why do I say that? I think their defense had major. I mean, there was three or four horrible bust and coverage that were touchdowns or long, long gainers for Louisville. And that shouldn't happen. Guides had been there. And I just saw guys that just, they were exhausted. I mean, they were gassed. And I don't know whether they run enough conditioning drills. But that sure looked like it. I know that they don't have a whole lot of depths. But it wasn't like they were on the field forever.

9:23They should have had more in the tank. And that's going to be a real problem when they play in the afternoons. Or they still play in September against top flight competition. I don't know if the talent's there. The defensive secondary, the bus. Like I said, you got to be in shape. And they're not in shape. So the Michigan situation, there's so many different ways to look at this. And all of our social media has been talked about so much that the first pass, the Hail Mary goes out of the end zone. But then they said there's a second left of a look at the clock. There's a different clock. And then the second time around they convert in the Hail Mary. Obviously, if it was flipped around of Western Michigan, through the Hail Mary, there'd be one second. I'd be like, no, the game's over. Forget it. What did you take from all of that? I hate the term cheating, but also feels dirty because Michigan's a big 10 team. Western Michigan's a Mac team. No one cares about Western Michigan and the whole grand scheme of things. But Michigan, we got to keep those teams like in the race in a sense. We don't want them losing to a Mac team at home.

10:23So again, one more opportunity. How did you think? Just what did you think about everything? You put it best. And it wasn't brought up like that right away. People are like, oh, they were debating whether there was a second left or not. I don't think there was. I think the game should have ended. But if it was Western Michigan, there is zero. Zero chance that they overturn that and give them another fight. I'm going to throw this one out to you, and then we're going to get to our baseball picks. But just, and this is, I saw someone mention this on social media and they got roasted for this. But I'm going to say this right here, okay? And I want your opinion and tell me if I'm totally wrong on this. Yes, it was wrong how it ended. But at the same time, they had one more shot at Hail Mary. It's not like they had the ball at the one yard line score. They still to stop them a second time. Or is that kind of like, well, it should never happen. It should never happen. And I'm going to give you a gambling, you know, talk about a point spread. I think enough people saw that Bryce Underwood is not a good quarterback. And Michigan is not a very good team.

11:24Before that game started, they were one and a half point favorite. And you can't really bet any substantial amount of money. They don't lie you to before the game. But the look ahead line was one and a half Michigan. Now Oklahoma is five and a half to six. A full seven to seven and a half points. When you're not going to see that very often. And Oklahoma blew out you tap in their opener. So we'll see what happens when they go to the big house coming up on Saturday. Embarrassing to the fans right on the field. You're 28 point favorites. Like don't do it. Embarrassing. Like that's just like. I know everyone wants to have fun. But like, come on, you should have what you that's for upset storming the field. Not when you beat Western Michigan. No disrespect Broncos, but like, come on. All right, let's get to baseball now, Lee. We have a couple picks and let's begin. We got a couple of blowouts. We have a team blowout, a couple of player props and gets you. Let's begin first with our MLB below it's special. Oh, boy. Last one out. Turn off the lights. Oh, this one's a blowout. A lot of afternoon games and major league baseball.

12:25But the games we're going to concentrate on will be the night games. So you have kind of all day here. And the Giants host the Cardinals tonight in San Francisco. We're going to back the San Francisco Giants here. Lain around 130 with Logan Webb on the mound. Michael McGreeby goes for the Cardinals. Now the Giants are back from an East Coast trip. But although Logan Webb's home record is not very appealing. At the same time, though, I think he bounces back tonight. He got knocked around his last time out opposite Paul Schienz in that crazy 1312 game against the Pirates. But I'm also fading Michael McGreeby here. The Cardinals are five and one in his past six starts. One of those wins came against the Dodgers. Last time I was a nice underdog. But McGreeby is ERA's 3.97. He's expected ERA's 5.36. So I think that he's going to revert back a little bit tonight. Some of his metrics just aren't good. And Logan Webb is still the top pitcher on the Giants. We're going to back him tonight as a home favorite against the Cardinals who are on the third leg of their road trip after playing in L.A.

13:26in Colorado. And we're going to take the Giants here as our MLB blowout special. I like to spot let's run with it. You had a good run here in baseball. So let's see if it continues on this Labor Day. We have two props to get to as well. Coming up and two later games. Two guys probably don't know much about. But you know what? Doesn't matter. 17:34Now his average isn't great. 256 on base percentage. 309, but this kid has power. Most people only know he is 20 home runs 82 RBI is going to face Nick Pabeta of San Diego. And I think San Diego after playing the Yankees three games and crowds were incredible in San Diego. And they were pumped might have a little let down. Pabeta had had some inflammation. He missed most of the year came back recently. Hasn't gone out on believe more than like four innings. He'll go four or five innings tops. And I just think Dale and Lyle is one of these guys that they're going to catch San Diego. Maybe I wouldn't say napping, but maybe relaxing after the big weekend, taking two out of three. So Dale and Lyle over one and a half hits runs RBI is my first total head. Jam now onto the second one is going to be a situation like like I think it's just shocking here is Brett

18:34Bateman. Brett Bateman. Elite off guy only played 25 games almost no one news knows who he is at the University of Minnesota specifically was born and raised in St. Paul 25 games. This kid's hitting 347. 412 on base percentage. And the stats. If you look at Lyle and Bateman, the last five games almost identical. Both of them have 11 hits in five games. Both of them have two three hit games and they're just raking right now. And this is where these young players shine. They're looking to make a name for themselves. They want to solidify coming back and being the starter for next year. And eventually getting a nice big contract. And they can do it a lot of times against pictures. Just aren't great Jacob Lopez. We've been going against the age pictures all year long, especially after the All Star Big.

19:35Great Jacob Lopez record is pretty decent. 64 the 471 ERA. But he's walked 52 and 105 innings. So I mean, here's the situation got a lead off hitter. If he gets a walk and scores a run for standing bingo, you got the winner here. So we're going to go with another in gem Brett Bateman over. One and a half hit runs our beyes. And he had five hits against the royals this past weekend. And Blue Jays back to 500 incredible what they've done. They were just dead in the water. And they have a shot to start side Cleveland for the final playoff spot in the wild card. But Toronto still has put themselves with less than a month ago in a position to maybe get that final wild card. It's probably going to be Yankees red socks. And top two get four teams out of the American league East when it's all set in the Dunn potential to play us, which is incredible. It's Tampa Bay will win the East and you know, Yankees red socks is two wild card teams coming up. Leap. We now have week one done in college football, but we have week one in the NFL two days away Wednesday night football.

20:38Mike Mike Mike Mike Wednesday night football. Patriots Seahawks in Seattle and then the Australian game too. So let's go on a pair of mouth sports with now all the football coming up. I don't know where they came up to this Wednesday night game. I don't believe it's ever happened for as it Kevin Wednesday night game. I don't know if there's a Wednesday night opener. I mean, maybe through the years. I don't know. I have to look back, but to have the back to back, we've had Thursday Friday, but I don't know about Wednesday Thursday. Because last year we had the the Chargers chiefs. I think on Friday after the Thursday night was Cowboys Eagles. I think Wednesday Thursday. I'm not sure if we've ever had that before.
