As we have all football on this Friday edition, week one of the NFL Fulsight on Sunday a couple picks for you coming up. And college football, you have some intriguing matchups between SEC and Big Ten teams, but none bigger than the one in Austin. And that's where we begin for our college football lock of the day. Open it, open it, open it. We has the key to the lock of the day. Arche Manning looks to get his revenge on Ohio State. The Buckais beat the Longhorns last year in Columbus, 14-7. The Longhorns had their opportunities. Couldn't cash in, but now round two down in Austin and UT, a short favoritly.

3:06What do you like? Yeah, so I watched the game last year. Texas and Ohio State over again. I'm like, let me see if I can glean anything from this game. And Texas, I mean, was moving up and down inside the 20s back and forth, but once I got on the Red Zone, just couldn't do anything. In fact, most specifically inside the 10, the play calling from Steve Sarkiesian was absolutely horrendous. The execution by Manning and his mates was horrific. It was one of the worst displays I've ever seen in the Red Zone. And data, 336 to 203 yard advantage, usually when you take those numbers, it probably should have been Texas 20 and Ohio State maybe 10 if you just look at the raw yardage, but it flipped around in Ohio State, 14-7.

4:08Now, what can Texas do to turn the tide? And they need this game, make no mistake about it. A lot more than Ohio State does. Why? Do I say that? If Ohio State loses by four, six, seven points, they even lose another game. I think they're in to the college football playoff. Texas, if they lose this game at home and lose another game and have a couple games like last year, they won two games. I think it was Kentucky and Mississippi State and overtime. They're not going to make it again. So it is that important at home for them to get over the hump here. So I think that their whole offseason emphasis was, we can't just play to get in the college playoff. And be the Ohio State, send a message, go undefeated, lose one game. I love what they did in the transfer portal. They went after guys, they thought we're going to take them to the next level and be able to be the Ohio State. First one, Cam Coleman, wide receiver, six to restud from Auburn.

5:13He is great in the red zone. Outside of Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State and Tony from Miami, I think he's the third best receiver in college football. And by far he was the best transfer portal guy they could have gone after they got him. Then they went after Hollywood's mothers. They had like three different guys they've used the last couple of years and they were just fine. Hollywood's mothers, I didn't realize how good he was and saw a lot of their games against Tennessee State. Just didn't have blocking. He and just that one game that he played against Texas State, he is really good when he catches the ball out of the backfield, making the one move, bam and beating the first guy over and over again. So running and catching the ball, he's very effective. And I think that that's going to carry over and make them a very good red zone team. On top of that, you got Ryan Wingo, their number one receiver last year. He looks better than in years past. And he was always matched up against like when they played Ohio State, their number one

6:14guy. To go against a slot cover corner or the number three corner back. And I think that's going to give them advantages also. And I think Miami exposed Ohio State their best guys on the offensive line and also defensive line and their edge rushers. They all graduated went to the NFL. I think Texas owns advantages in the trenches here. I'm going to say Texas finally gets over the hump and beats someone in prime time and sends a message Texas Longhorns 2721. And also lead like you mentioned, the Longhorns schedule coming up after they host UTSA, the first two SEC games at Tennessee and then Oklahoma in Dallas. Then they get the Gators and Ole Miss Mississippi State all at home at Mizzou at LSU Arkansas. I was not very good at Texas A&M. So two of the final three on the road. I mean, if you want from Missouri and there even three of the final four on the road, it's not easy.

7:14So understandably from a non-conference standpoint, yeah, this doesn't matter for SEC purposes on Saturday. But just to make the college football play off, you really don't want to stub your toe here. Consider you have some games down the road on the road that you could potentially lose. Yeah, really tough schedule. So I think they're better than teams like Ole Miss, but OU could be a toss up. Texas A&M is going to be coming form. I think Texas A&M is under the radar. So some real tough game to head. Speaking of Texas, we lost our only game on Thursday. That was me. I'll raise my hand on that one. I had Jacob to grom under 6.5 strikeouts. And it was funny at the game started at four between the Rangers and Mariners. At four thirty, I looked at my phone. I saw Jacob to grom through an inning and two thirds. He was in the second inning. He had five strikeouts already. Oh, my God. So this is a really bad start. And he ended up with 11, actually 12 strikeouts, one hit. And the Rangers still lost the game, which is kind of amazing because the Mariners came back on the Rangers bullpen.

8:15So sometimes those things happen. Under 6.5, Jacob to grom, he doubled that basically hitting the over. So O&1, but still a pretty successful week for our picks. And we still have two more NFL picks to get to. And let's begin in the NFC coming up on Sunday. A pair of division winners looking up from last year in our NFL hit and jam. To find a diamond in the rough, you need to dig a little deeper for those hidden gems. These Chicago Bears heading to Carolina to face the Panthers and the Panthers found a way to win the NFC South mainly because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were great. The first half and then terrible in the second half. And the Panthers ended up getting the division title eight and nine. So they draw the Bears who were very fortunate in the takeaway department, turnover differential department. And it seemed like everything kind of went their way last year. Ben Johnson, a great job. I'm not going to take away Caleb Williams had a fantastic year.

9:18But Chicago was a road favorite one time last year. And that was at Cincinnati. They came back and won that game, a high scoring game, but they were a road dog a lot last year. Now they're laying a field goal against Carolina. And we're going to take the points with the Carolina Panthers here. And one of the reasons is Chicago gave a lot of big plays last year. And understandably Bryce Young doesn't put up gotty numbers at all for the Carolina Panthers, but he played better last year. He definitely, you know, it felt like there was a quarterback controversy a few years ago, but he's the guy in Carolina now. And they have a little bit of stability with Dave Canal says the head coach because they went for years. I looked backly a few nights ago. But some of the head coaches after Ron Rivera before Dave Canal, and I said, I didn't even notice these guys were coaches of the Carolina Panthers. That's how bad it was. You had Matt rule in there for a few years. You had Frank Reich, like a one in 10 start and got fired and some interim coaches as well. But you had Baker Mayfield in there for a minute, also with the Panthers. But I think here in this opener, public should be all over Chicago after what they saw

10:21last year, second round lost to the Rams in the playoffs. But I think Carolina gets them. They had some nice wins as a home dog last year. So it's back to Panthers over the Bears, over the not Bears coming up on Sunday as our NFL hit. And Jim, I love it. And I think there's going to be some regression here from Chicago. They lost their stores dinner. He was rated number one in NFL as far as blocking, run blocking. And I think they're going to miss him a lot. Just abruptly retired. That'll hurt him. I just think, like I said, they're talking about maybe their coach and I love their coach about setting the scoring record. Well, your offensive line is not going to be as good. Your receivers aren't going to be as good. You think Williams is just all of a sudden going to go from good to great. I don't know. So Carolina is one of these teams like Jacksonville. I always look at percentage of bets. Very few people bet the Jaguars and the Panthers. She's just not a well-known team.

11:21Unless you grew up in the Carolina, unless you grew up between Orlando and Jacksonville, Tallahassee, you're not rooting for the Jaguars. So you bet those two teams in the long run. Next couple of years, you're going to do just fine. Panthers had some nice wins last year, beating the Rams in the regular season, lost some in the post season. They were leading with like a minute to go in the wild car game and lost. And also to beat the Packers on the road last year. Had some other good underdog wins. So definitely have some confidence in that role. We're going to say Carolina there. Coming up, we will flip to the AFC and a game that's not a match, JJ Watgame, but it's the Jets and the Titans coming up on Sunday and Lee with some good angles in that one that is straight ahead. Good news is someone's going to win the chess Titans game, but the question is who,

15:30on our wrong team favorite. What the WTF? There were four teams that finished three and 14 last season. The Raiders, the Cardinals, the Jets and the Titans and New York goes to Tennessee coming up on Sunday. And you know what's going to happen to be a tie, right? There's no one's going to win this game. But Cam Ward, his second season as quarterback of the Titans and Gina Smith, his second season, go around with the Jets. So lead the Titans, a short favorite here. What do you like? If it was a night game, I guess probably it would be perfect if the lights went out, something like that happened, but this is not how hazy this is now. Well, I mean, there's two really bad games. The dolphins and the Raiders in this game are not great, but I think of the four teams. I think the Jets are far superior to the other three. I think Geno Smith is going to have a big year. He was with the Raiders last year. That offensive line was horrific.

16:32He had no targets. Austin Gentley was hurt a bunch during the season. This year, I think he's in a better system. Think that he has a star running back and Breeze Hall. Breeze Hall, if he's on a good team, he's a top three top four running back in the NFL. No one talks about the guy. And Garrett Wilson, top 10, maybe top five, six wide receiver. So he's got targets here. Offensive lines going to be improved. Defense, you know, traded away some good players, but I think there'll be someone improved here. Where's the improvement in Tennessee? I don't think Camp Ward is improving. I don't think they have targets at wide receiver. Running back position is, you know, way below average, probably bottom five, bottom six in the NFL. And the defense has trouble getting off the field. So, you know, maybe they're going to be fired up. Salah, you know, the former Jets coach is going to spend a little extra time. He knows some of the personnel, but I mean, you can know the personnel.

17:34Doesn't mean you can stop him here. I like the Jets here. Wrong team favorite. Jets pulled a small upset here. Move to one it up. And I believe what the Titans were one in 10 to start last year. The one win was that crazy game at Arizona. They had no business winning. They dropped the ball, the goal line and the fumble in the end zone. Like so, I mean, they were teaming us on the verge of going on in 12 and the grand of the Jets start. I think oh, it's seven before beating Cincinnati. But still be interested to see what Gino does. If this is kind of his, his resurgence here in New York, his second time around after the disaster, the reunion of Pete Carroll in Las Vegas last year. So we'll see that turns out with the Jets. No J UFC in Phoenix coming up Saturday. College football big weekend coming up NFL week one Sunday already two games in the book.
