Now we have another indication of Sony's rapid decline in the eyes of gamers. This is crazy. Now we've talked about marathon a little bit. I think most people just don't care when we're the other. I think most people have accepted that the bungee we knew from back in the day no longer exists. They're not making halo anymore. But they did shut down destiny and they went all in on marathon and marathon landed with a thud.
And everybody's like, well it's okay. They've got a new season coming. It's going to be great. You know, this game is going to turn around. Everybody's going to realize what a great game this is and the truth is, no. Nobody cares. Especially being a Sony owned studio at this point in time. It's kind of like the kiss of death. Right. And I think at some point in time in the very near future, I could totally see Sony just shutting bungee down as an independent studio. It doesn't make sense. They're not really bringing it again. Destiny's over. Marathon was basically DOA and they don't make halo. What do they have exactly who cares? Right. Just I think they probably will wind up shutting them down and merging them into the whatever the bigger studio. I think they kind of already have, but not officially. So anyway, this is coming from Kataku. Marathon is now delaying new content and it's ditching seasons as bungee's extraction shooter fights for its life.
That's not a good headline, especially coming from Kataku. Right. And this is after it came out that bungee was actually going to sublet its studio. And they're like, oh, everybody works from home now, guys. No, it's called your company is collapsing. You definitely don't need all the space. You're not even making destiny anymore. I mean, this is the studio that built halo, but I guess it's only bungee name only, but this is crazy just to see how far they've fallen that they have to they have to sublet their studio because they're they're shrinking. And now they're fighting for their life with with marathon. So again, this come from Kataku. So I gotta give them credit. Marathon's had rough summer. It doesn't look like the mood is about to change for bungee's remaining live service sci-fi shooter anytime soon. The studio announced that a September seasonal update has been delayed until December. In fact, the seasonal model is ending all together. That's not a good sign, guys. So we talk a lot about different predictions for the entertainment industry here on clownfish TV. And if you think you know what's going to happen next, you can trade that on CalShi.

And I say, you know what marathon is going to be game of the year and I do $100 on that. I would make $9,351 and there's no liquidity if I say no. Yeah, not a lot of people have a lot of confidence in marathon. But you know, sometimes it pays to take a chance on the dark horse. I'm just saying.

CalShi. We're going to get back into the podcast addressing player feedback requires us to change both what we're building and how we deliver it. We previously shared plans for marathons next major update to launch on September 22nd. We know many players were looking forward to it and we appreciate your patience.
We are adjusting our plans to ensure the update meets your expectations. The content originally planned for September will now arrive. I want to share something that really caught my attention as a parent. I've learned that myopia near-sightedness is becoming much more common in kids and it's not something you want to ignore. If it goes unchecked, it can have an impact that goes way beyond schoolwork. What really matters is starting with an eye exam. An eye doctor can tell you what's going on with your child's vision and walk you through options that are designed specifically for kids like Esselaer Stellest Lenses. I like that Stellest Lenses are made for children and fit right into everyday life. They look like regular glasses but they're part of a more thoughtful approach to managing myopia. If you're a parent and you've been meaning to book an eye exam, this is your sign. Visit Esselaer.com to learn more about Stellest Lenses and to find an Esselaer expert eye care professional near you. It's part of our symbiosis update on December 8th. Alongside the new runner shell, permanent PVE experience that should have been part of the deal when they first launched it.
I'm just saying and refreshed perimeter zone. The update will also include a social space firing range and experimental TDM mode and improvements to new player onboarding for the 10 of you who are left playing this game or whatever. Before then, we'll release a smaller focused update on October 6th that resets progression and the end game economy refreshes rewards and improves the live game while giving the team the time needed to deliver the larger experience plan for December. We'll bungee be in business in March. I really am thinking that the way things are going with Sony right now that they could just shut the damn thing down all together and just be like, you know what we're done here. We're done here. We're also moving away from strict seasonal schedule instead of tie. Yeah, because we all know if we're going to be around much longer. So, we have tying major updates to fix seasonal deadlines. We're giving the team more flexibility to build test and improve features before they're released. Since launch, you've told us marathon needs more depth, more variety, stronger progression and better reasons to keep playing.
Sorry, he needs better reasons to keep playing. We agree addressing that feedback requires us to change both what we're building and how we deliver it. Bungie is promising the October update will bring a progression and economy reset a new reward pass further quality of life improvements and additional live tuning and balance changes. None of that will move the needle for anyone already burnt out on marathon and it probably won't be enough to keep many die hearts sticking around and just come from Kataku. The two months between October and December will instead be for running gameplay experiments and sharing what we're learning. Shouldn't you have done that before you launch the game? You know, just call me crazy, but like, this is a what another one of these two hundred million dollar three hundred million dollar games. Shouldn't you have tested a little bit more or were you being pressured by Sony to drop this thing because Concord was a huge failure. Some of the other titles they released for huge failures, maybe they just want to rip the bandaid off.
Maybe they're just like, you know what, we know this one's going to stink it up. So just release a damn thing when fall in their ass and then we just shut Bungie down. That's already, I mean, we're really at the end of the line at this point. No halo, no destiny. No marathon. Pretty soon. Nobody's playing it. In December, Bungie's promising the start of more alien and dynamic survival experiences with the arrival of its first decade PV emotes. Again, why did you not have that at launch? I'm just saying that call me crazy, but that's, you know, a big part of online shooters, people like PVE. I don't understand what you're Bungie, right? You're Bungie, right? Bungie, like halo people used to be. Yeah, I don't get it. It'll arrive alongside a refresh perimeter experience, et cetera. PVP, yeah, experimental PVP team deathmatch mode. Again, that's something that should have been there from the start.
And the first of several improvements to the new player experience. Hopefully the way will be worth it. Peak daily steam concurrent players for the game has continued to decline. I got to go see what the peak concurrent players are for Bungie currently. All right, let's go look at the peak concurrent players for marathon on steam. There are 2000 people playing right now 24 hour peak of 2300 people. 88,000 was the all time peak six months ago. Again, for a Bungie game, that's not good. Let me see what destiny. Do we know what destiny would let me see here? Destiny to destiny to destiny to was kind of a flop compared to the first one. It had 316,000 people three and a half years ago. And even right now, it's destiny to 16,000 people playing destiny to 18,000 people 24 hour peak. So I'm curious just to see how bad things are. Right now, the numbers on marathon are basically what halo infinite numbers are.
Because halo infinite has 2000 people on right now 2500 people 24 hour peak. And the all time peak again for halo for freaking halo, which was one I want to share something that really caught my attention as a parent. I've learned that myopia near citedness is becoming much more common in kids. And it's not something you want to ignore. If it goes unchecked, it can have an impact that goes way beyond schoolwork. The biggest video game was past tense was one of the biggest video game for an chances of all time 272,000 people were on for 4.8 years ago. And I think I told this story a couple of times before we had Halo Infinite at the gaming center. We had a small esports retro arcade for about 5 years. We had it for about 5 years. And I was excited I put Halo Infinite on all machines when they came out and I swear to God not a single person played it the entire time it was on machines and I left them machines for like 2 years. Nobody played it. Nobody played Halo. They played Master Chief Collection, but nobody I kept checking on it. I'm like, has anybody played Halo Infinite? I'm like, oh, one person did. I'm like, oh, that was me testing it out. Yeah, okay. So never mind. Never mind. Yeah, not looking too good. Let's see what some of the other. I mean, again, obviously I'm waiting for people to be in the comments be like, don't you know you you chugged.
They all know and Halo anymore. I'm like, I know. Oh my God, the Master Chief Collection has from how many years ago has more people on 45 hundred people playing Master Chief Collection 5600 now. What about that new Halo game that piece of shit that they just released? Campaign evolved. Oh my God. Oh, that's bad. 511 people on campaign evolved. Right now 24 hour peak, 784 and they're averaging under 1000 people a day. Whatever. People are going to be like, well, it's a console game first and foremost. I'm like, no, I mean, I get that, but that's not why people aren't playing it because two months ago 25,000 people were playing this game. They they checked it out. They're like, this is shit. Let's go back to Master Chief Collection or something or just forget about Halo and move on.
Other things, but yeah, they don't have Halo. They don't have anything going for them. Bungie has nothing going from them at this point. And they're even going to sublet their space. So good luck with good luck with all of that. I guess Sony. I'm going to wrap this up. Please subscribe. We'll talk later.
