Sounds Of Brass With Annie Dehaney-Steven, Presenter.
Annie, lives in east London and plays in two north London bands; cornet for one and, latterly, sop (the Devil's cornet) for the other. Brass band was her first love, but she is as often found hanging around with jazz as a singer and event host.

It is currently 10.30 on Thursday morning, so this is being recorded to go out tomorrow evening.
It is beautiful here in the southeast of England in London.
It's cold, but bright.
I've been out for a cycle and a walk in a coffee today already,
so that's my entire day used up.
It's just delightful, but it is cold.
Proper spring day.
Yesterday, almost at the day before, it was blowing a gale.
Well, it wasn't blowing a gale technically, but it was horribly windy.
So I think we're on an upward trajectory.
Otherwise, which is always lovely.
A band I don't think I've come across before.
This is Dale Wood Auckland, brass band playing Sweet Georgia Brown.

Let's become a jazz classic.

and it's played by Divertim Brass.

Sir Roger D'Coverly was and he's a fictional eccentric English squire. So there you go, he was

and it's played by Blackjack Millsband.
