Despite the name, it is getting very little work. There's no incentive to be there. And it is hurting California very badly. I'm going to suggest that Republicans and Democrats get together and immediately craft legislation to save the movie, television, and entertainment business in America. I had to do a double take because Senator Adam Schiff actually agrees with President Trump on this. He posted on X quote, I'm in strong agreement with the president. Congress should immediately take up and pass a federal film tax incentive to bring back these good paying jobs that we've lost to other countries. Let's work together. Republicans

1:01and Democrats to get this done and bring the movie magic back to America. Steve, a little refreshing bipartisanship for once. Yes, and I can add to it. I can say I strongly agree with the president and Adam Schiff. And the reason for that bill is I know a lot of people watching may not be huge fans of Hollywood when we think of the big celebrities and some of their views. But actually, imagine if you go to the movies and you stay through the end credits, all those names, you've got the names of the stars at the top, but then you've got hundreds and hundreds of names that scroll. Those are the jobs we're talking about. Electritions and drivers and set builders and carpenters and all the hair and makeup artists and the drivers. There's so many jobs. Blue collar, working class jobs associated with the entertainment industry. They're all going to other states and especially other countries because they've got better incentives. And so I laid out a plan months ago to bring Hollywood home. And I think what you need is this federal credit and the California policy to change because the incentive that

2:07you've got in California right now is too small. As everything else in California is too bureaucratic, there are too many rules in the way. And I'm going to change all of that. So we really restore this industry and they blue collar jobs that go with it. I want to ask you about these new rules that California passed earlier this year that regulate what kind of replacement tires you can buy on your vehicle starting in 2029. It's pretty wild stuff. They're using this idea of what they call rolling resistance. The idea of when your tires are moving on the road, they're squishing into the pavement and the more squishing there is, the more resistance there is and that requires more fuel to power the car. And it's a way they believe of cutting down on fuel use, the Wall Street Journal editorial board phrasing it like this. Now California is coming for your tires. Steve, what do you think about this? It's so insane. I mean, as if we haven't gotten off problems, we've got the highest taxes in the country, the highest poverty rate, the highest unemployment rate. It's impossible

3:09to do anything in this state. Gas prices, electric bills, homelessness, crime, chaos everywhere. And this is what they're focusing on. It is ridiculous. What I'm going to be doing as governor is squishing the bureaucracy that pushed through this ridiculous rule, particularly the woman who's behind it, a woman called Nancy Skinner, appointed by Gavin Newsom. It's ridiculous. We got to get cost down, red tape down and we got to stop doing stupid things like this and help small business and working people who are dying and struggling in this state right now. That's why we need to vote for change in November. I also want to get your thoughts on a social media post that's really just emblematic of all the problems facing Los Angeles right now. We can pull this out. LA's Socialist Mayoral candidate and current city council member, Nithya Rahman posted on X bragging about painting a crosswalk in a neighborhood in Los Phillies, basically saying that her office was contacted about it. On Sunday, I was in Los Angeles with a guy who owns a shoe store being put out of business by illegal street vendors that Nithya Rahman and Karen Bass and all the Democrats were in favor of. His business has been destroyed. We walk down the street to take a look at it. There's a crack in the pavement that's like it's erupted. It's like how long's that been there? Fourteen years. Fourteen years. They can't

5:16run anything. They can't fix anything. And we've got to have change in California. By the way, that is why our campaign is making progress. We're making these arguments. The beginning of this race, the gap between me and the other guy, Basera, the Democrat was 25 points. Then it was 18. Then it was 14. We had a poll last week. Eight point gap. We're closing the gap. We are fighting hard. We got to turn this ship around in California because it's a complete disaster everywhere you look. Yep. That gap is significantly narrowing in all the polls.
