And I'm joined in studio by our sports editor, Derek Lynch, look back over the weekend in sport and Derek will start with the sole game from the TUS Clare senior football championship. It took extra time because this was a bit of a ding dong tight affair that ultimately drove their field just edged curvefin in by 2.1 21 to 1.19 in the end. Yeah, fantastic. Yeah, my football, first of all, and I had everything like there was brilliant goals, fantastic long-range shooting, really good moves, great deal of effort and a power cut which threatened everything. It can prepare for a lot of things to happen in a live broadcast setting, but that, one of them, the lights just took a little sojourn. I think the lights knew that we were in for extra time and they just needed a little breather. So they took 15 minutes exactly midway through the second half and after six or seven minutes, the lights came back on and the game finished with extra time and fantastic results for Durabarifit in particular because they really were tested to their limit and as Donovan said to me afterwards, a lot of their opponents, our potential opponents at that stage in the
quarterfinals would have been looking for challenge games and stuff like that the weekend. They were after common true, a near 90 minute battle as it was with Coruffin and Camel would have championship victory which would boy up any team. So there would be hugely, hugely pleased with that. Coruffin were down, Jamie Malone down, Kineem McGrory which, that's two of their main scorers on the night, they had some fabulous performances on Daven King, some great scores. So now Kirby kicked his scores, Colum Brane was really, really busy and Kevin Kine was incredible. He ended up on the losing team but he was by hitting shoulders away our man at the match. We don't look like a really serious injury just before half time and reappeared out again for the second half and drove everything good that Coruffin did. So while the mid is appointed, not to have progressed, obviously they were just up from intermediate last year so consolidation was secured and they went to have a right cut at this. So I think for a pair of right and Mark Rafferty and the Lads, you know, they'd be delighted with the heart and spirit they showed but they've a massive game down. The whole end coming up next tomorrow night against six mile bridge. I think it is so they have to really, really refocus for that and there was a lot of tired
bodies coming off that field Friday night and it's a recovery now and the Atlantic was the order to do. Yeah, and Dora Bearfield's prize and inverted commas for being Coruffin is the not insignificant meeting with Erdogan the last days. Yeah, it's this quarter final draw. Yes, he was incredible because if you were to put the eight teams on a table in front of you and pair them up as neighbors, that didn't happen, by the way, I was it was legit, but I was in Crathloid witness that everything was above board, right? But it worked out brilliantly because you have obviously a role in Dora Bearfield. It does only the bridge out by the mark between them. Do you have Maria Brickett and do Maria Brickett and Dora Bearfield? I am reliably told we will be allowed down for the golf this week, but they might put the barriers next week to keep us tomorrow for out of the language ahead of that particular game, but they're welcome as in this week on those a few pounds to spend. Will town and in a diamond, obviously the school in Runean will be a huge fork to point at that because someone will correct me now on this, but I think that there's a river on a stream that runs somewhere around that school that is the divide between the two
parishes. That's how tired it is. And obviously Kildai certainly sick ass you're right down the road from your daughter as well. So it's a fabulous weekend ahead. I think it really will wet the appetite. I think it'll kick start the championship and because of the terribly nature and because I suppose the pairings and the form of all teams coming into it, it was not a hell of an up between them. We saw it through a barefield running arrow takes for time a couple of years ago. Obviously, you all got their vengeance last year in the county final. Climore into a bag. They've had some brilliant battles that ask a couple of seasons. Kildai certainly sick assy that will level things out. And obviously, Milton and in a diamond have real ambitions of going on winning a championship this year. Absolutely for Britain games ahead and already really counting down to it. Okay, very good. Let's move on to the ladies senior football championship where there was a bit of an upset Kildai helping to go back to back. But that's not going to be happening. No, it's not a photo win for Fergus Rovers. Not only to win the game, but it's supposed to come in and score three goals in St. Michael's Park in that victory. Like it was unbelievable stuff for him.
Like we know they're a club that have huge talent at underage. I think I flagged it here on Friday. There are 216 teams that contested the county final like. So obviously they were building something, but that maturity as well has happened this weekend. And I think Climore will be hugely disappointed. I think now they will look back on that game. A Climore in the last round of the group stages where if they'd won, they'd been in a semi-final. And you know, was that an opportunity missed from their point of view? But they would have seen this as I'd imagine a huge test, a great game and potentially a real good primer for a semi-final. But unfortunately, no for Timmy and Aiman in the last year is over. And their crown goes to baking for another 12 months. So it was a huge blow for them, but for Fergus Rovers, a fantastic victory. And sometimes that can really kickstart the club and I suppose the reality for them is it doesn't get any easier now. They go on and take the banner on in a semi-final. But imagine the bounce that's going to be in training this week. Imagine the field go to factor around the club. And you know, imagine the huge swell of support and atmosphere they'll have facing into that banner game in a couple of weeks time.
So for them, they just couldn't buy it. Yeah. Fantastic stuff. Filoson on the action from the ClareCred union senior Kamagi Championship. Yeah, just on the other semi-final. Sorry, the quarter final. Our new quarter final in the ladies' championship again. On a windswept day in Mohor Lyskater coming on on top against Dura Bearfield. Like I think we mentioned in the buildup as well. It's a much changed Dura Bearfield team from the one that got to count you final indeed. A much changed team from the one that won a league title last year as well. Just absolutely short of players and kind of a rebuilding job going on. But another cracking contest here on a couple of points between them. But Lyskater really, really showing a great deal of grit. You know, they'd be well used to that biting wind up on the scanner. But they really showed a great deal of grit to come on on top. And this one scored some absolutely brilliant goals as well in that game. And they now go on to take on Kilmori and they won't fear them one little bit. They certainly want to I think we're in for two brilliant semifinals in that ClareLadies for Palschampinghip. Okay. And in the Kamagi? Yeah, things kind of wrapped up here a little bit as expected. Scarifogonlo and Trucla Larrichan through their game.
So that qualifies them for the semifinal. And by virtue of their victory, Scarifogonlo will probably finish top of the group. Trucla Larrichan would be second. And the Kilmori had a conflict of wind, a routine enough victory in their game. So the big game at the weekend was really the Clamely and the market one. And it was Clamely the Camo on top there. So effectively, I think that seals the semifinal pairings ahead of the final round. There's still a lot to be played out for relegation and stuff like that. But it now does look like it'll be Scarifogonlo versus Clamely and I think in the morning versus Trucla Larrich as the semifinals at the back back in cup. I know that's the shield and that as well. But for the main prize, I guess that looks like our final four pairing and two cracking games there as well. Okay. And just a final word then on the incredible drama, Adela Hinch golf club over the weekend. It's rare enough to see Grapefruit and Ireland win the Walker Cup. And certainly heading into Sunday, it looked like a toll order for them to do that. It looked like it was going to be six in a row for the US. But what a turnaround from GB and I on the Sunday to win by 13 and a half to 12 and a half
points and great that it happened here in Claire as well. Yeah, I think the real winner here, Alan, is is LeHinch and the county as a whole. Well, the victory on the course was fantastic. Obviously for for GB and I and the way it came down, those final few holds and after the morning session, it'd been such a whitewash for USA and even to win seven at the 10, you know, get seven of the 10, the singles. Yeah, for sure. And for sure, Craig and I supposed to be to beat the world number one twice over the weekend in match tables and incredible achievement as well. But I like, you look at some of the images that were being worldwide of LeHinch and, you know, that particular shot of the 18th green with all the fans around us. Like for that to go worldwide is just absolutely priceless stuff. I'd imagine, you know, Jungleys and I'm Paddy Keen and all the crew up there this morning are sitting back just going, this is fantastic. Good luck to get in a slap on the championship course. I'd imagine all the next while things will be pretty busy. You'll have to head across to the castle course to get your fix. I'd imagine, but a huge well done to all of them. I was up around there on Saturday and it was just simply brilliant.
It was, you know, the event itself was so well handled, so well managed in the place looked absolutely pristine. So we can only take our hats off to them and then cast our eyes west for what's to come for the rest of the week. That is for sure a boat's well for the coming weekend and hopefully an harsh winter. If that's not too much to ask, at the Amjane Arsha Open in Dumbegg will be chatting to you on the Friday Derek when it's well underway, but for the moment, thank you very much.
