Welcome to the Busted Open podcast. This is Dave LaGrecca.
On today's episode, myself and Bully Ray talk about the epic Monday Night Raw in New York City
at the Mecca Madison Square Garden. We talk about that opening segment with Cody Rhodes
and Stephanie McMahon. Also, Opafemi and Brock Lesnar. We break it down right here on the Busted
Open podcast. This is the Busted Open podcast. Wow. What a Monday Night Raw from Madison Square Garden
last night. You were there. I was sitting at home watching. We're going to compare some notes
tonight. I am ready to start wherever you're ready to start. The garden was rocking.
Let's take it from the top if you'd like. Yeah, I think so. Like you just said,
the Madison Square Garden in New York City crowd did not disappoint. They were electric.
That place was rocking. Nobody does it like the garden. You could say what you want,
but when you're in that building and you see that roof and you have wrestling,
it's something special. And I think it started special last night, Bully, with a surprise
from your undisputed champion Cody Rhodes to kick off Monday Night Raw last night. You and I
got the opportunity to sit down with him in studio. So we kind of figured he would be somehow
some way on Raw, but how did you feel about Cody Rhodes kicking off Monday Night Raw last night?
Before we get into Cody, when we did have Cody on the show yesterday, I asked him about how he felt
about the cheers that Randy Orton has been getting. It doesn't seem like with all the heinous acts
that Randy has done to Cody and all the things he's saying to Cody. Randy isn't getting
cheered. Cody said it has not been bothering him. Maybe it one day it will bother him,
but as of right now, it's not. I challenged the nation. I asked them, do you believe Cody? A lot
of people chimed in. And then last night was a great barometer for how the WWE Universe
truly feels about Cody up into this moment right now. Cody leaves the series XM Studios, leaves
a busted open, heads right on over to the Mecca Madison Square Garden. Probably signed this name
about a thousand times and there he is kicking off Monday Night Raw. And really quick. And I know
I mentioned this yesterday on the show and I actually talked to a couple of representatives from
the WWE. And you know, hand on heart, bully, I've never seen that amount of people waiting for
somebody outside of serious XM like they were for Cody yesterday here. And you know, we could
talk about and sometimes we talk within our bubble about Cody and about the booze. You know,
when you see that many people outside the building and the reaction that he got and being able to see
firsthand how the kids love Cody Rhodes. I feel like sometimes we kind of live too much in our bubble
and fans need to see the big picture. And I think if you needed an example yesterday would be
that example. Well, approximately 400 people show up at 11 a.m. in the morning to surround the
serious XM Studios to the point where they had to sneak Cody in the building just so he would make
it to our interview on time. There's only one word that comes to mind when I hear about stuff like
Ova. And when you're Ova, you're Ova. And you said you've been working in that building since 2004,
I believe. You saw Howard Stern come there. You've seen all the big stars. The Metallica's,
the Bruce Springsteens, the news people, the this, the other thing your sister's asked, they've
all been there. But you've never seen a turn out like Cody had at serious. So Cody's music hits
in the garden. And he comes out to an incredible response, about 17,000 plus in the garden last
night. All happy to see your WWE universal champion Cody Rhodes. Yeah. And very positive reaction.
Now whenever Randy Orin's name was mentioned last night, bully, you got a positive reaction
as well. This is going to be an interesting dynamic when we get to WrestleMania. But I feel like
now the big thing is more than ever who was on the phone with Randy Orin. We talked about,
you know, are we going to get this unveiled at some point? It was mentioned again last night,
but interesting who came out after Cody Rhodes. I don't think anybody was expecting to hear
Stephanie McMahon's music, but that's exactly what we heard in Madison Square Garden.
Obviously that building means a lot to Stephanie, means a lot to the McMahon family.
But interesting to see Stephanie come out there last night, bully.
Lots of interesting things happened during that promo. First and foremost, yes, the shock of
Stephanie. Cody did a very good job of selling, you know, the shock of hearing Stephanie's music,
seeing Stephanie and basically being like, um, okay, what do you want to talk about? Like,
he really seemed befuddled as to why Stephanie was there. And Stephanie had some stuff to say.
She was, she talked about the house that her grandfather built.
Vince McMahon is as responsible for building that house as Vince's dad was.
They floated the word dad out there. They never mentioned Vince's name. And I'm going to
Vince immediately because of the reaction in the garden and the reaction on social media,
just floating the idea of Vince McMahon out there. So I'm going to ask you first,
when they talked about dads, when Cody said that you're not, you know, Stephanie said,
you're not dusty. And Cody said, we're all due respect. You're not your dad.
I picked up on the tiniest Vince chant in the arena where my ears playing chicks on me.
I, I, I didn't hear that. But what I did here, I did not hear, I did not hear a Vince chant. But
when I KM anything, no, all I heard was the gas from the crowd when his name, when, when he alluded
to that, they were, they were sitting on the edge of their seat for every word that was going
back and forth between Stephanie and Cody. It got a reaction. Positive or negative. I don't
think it was either positive or negative. I think it was just a reaction to what was said.
But, but to your point, bully, he's being mentioned. Vince McMahon is being meant,
what they did last night, even though they didn't say Vince McMahon, they said Vince McMahon
without saying Vince McMahon. They put their toe in the water. They very, very gently
took the temperature of the room. And it didn't get boot out of the building.
And here's what shocked me on social media last night, because I was very interactive with
the nation watching Raw. After the segment was over, I asked, okay, fine. Who do you think was on
the phone, Randy? Resounding responses for Vince McMahon. Not only resounding responses, I think
it's Vince, but people were saying, I hope it was Vince. I just, it's interesting that
they floated it out there. It's interesting that it wasn't met with an overwhelmingly negative
reaction. Yeah, I feel like being in that building last night, like I said, it wasn't negative
or positive. It was reacting to what they were saying. It wasn't a judgmental reaction. It was
just like Stephanie takes a shot at Cody using Dusty. And then Cody taking a shot at Stephanie
using Vince McMahon. Now yesterday on the show, we talked about how Randy could get to Cody.
And I mentioned bringing up Dusty. And last night in a real roundabout way, I felt like they
were doing what I suggested. Not like they listened and did my exact idea. It kind of felt like
they were going there, because the source spot with Cody is talking about Dusty. And that's where
Stephanie went. You don't, you try to stay away from Dusty when talking to Cody. And you cannot
speak poorly of Vince in front of Stephanie, because Stephanie will do exactly what she did last
night. She will haul off and crack you in the face. Dave, did you feel that smack in the face
was warranted? Do you feel like the smack in the face was done for as much shock and awe as CM
punk mentioning Roman's dead father? No, no, this was this to me. I understand both sides. I
understand Cody saying it because of what Stephanie said to him. And I, and I understand Stephanie's
reaction. That's her father. Like she, and she set it up perfectly, giving you a brief history
about how important that building was and how important the McMahon family was to building this
product and that building. If it was anywhere else, my answer would be, you know what? Maybe it
wasn't warranted, but in that building, in that atmosphere, the way that Stephanie set it up,
I thought it was the perfect response from Stephanie McMahon last night. So then Stephanie
McMahon goes to walk away. And before I go any farther, I want to say this, there was a disconnect
last night for me that occurred during the show. And I'm going to try to connect the dots here
without giving too much away too early on. Stephanie goes to walk away. And what did Cody do?
He grabbed her. Would you say it was a gingerly grab or an aggressive grab? I'd say somewhere
in between. Fair enough. Scale of one to ten, it was a five. Yes. How long do we know each other?
You and I? Yeah. A decade. Maybe a while. I get along with you very well. Yes.
Do I get along with your wife very well? Yes. If me and your wife got into a verbal tiff about
anything, and Vealette went to walk away from me, and I grabbed her hand the way Cody grabbed
Stephanie's hand last night, what would you do? Yeah, I'd have to step in. You would definitely
have to step in, right? Yes. I'm going to leave it right there for one second, because when I saw
that, I thought immediately, immediately somebody was coming. I thought the same thing. I thought
that was perfectly set up for Triple H to come out there last night. Now listen, like when we're
talking about Stephanie McMahon, Stephanie McMahon is on a different plane. Like obviously the way she
came at Cody was aggressive. Stephanie has been a part of the WWE. We've seen her many, many times.
You know, Stephanie is as hard as a rock, but whether it was warranted, whether it wasn't warranted,
I thought that was almost set up for like, all right, Triple H is going to come out here tonight.
So I'm going to put a pin in that. I just wanted to get your opinion. So Cody says
what he has to say to Stephanie that Cody leaves the ring. He says, I got two words for you. The
entire place says suck it, but he said, thank you. And everybody was just kind of like,
but Cody walks out. Stephanie has a smirk, a very Stephanie McMahon-esque smirk on her face that
we've seen so many times before. Do you believe this segment accomplished anything tangible? And
if so, what did it accomplish? I think what it did for me is spice things up. And it makes an even
bigger question mark. And I think it even emphasizes even more than ever who was on the phone with
Randy Orton. There was conversation over the last few days that maybe it's nobody on the other
and maybe it's Randy listening to the voices and is that maybe it won't go anywhere. Maybe we
won't find out. Maybe that was what it was. Now, after what I saw last night, this is a major plot
character position. Like, this is going to be significant for the match that we're going to see
at WrestleMania and moving forward, who is ever on the phone with Randy isn't something that's
just going to be forgotten and going away. It is going to be a big part of what we're going to see
at WrestleMania 42. So for the next two hours and 45 minutes of busted open, if we don't take
any other phone calls, the number one call I want to take from the nation, from as many people
as we can get in on this very, very busy Tuesday. After last night's segment between Cody and
Stephanie, who do you think was on the phone with Randy Orton and why? Yeah, I love it. And you know
why I love this is because if you look at the first time we saw Randy on the phone till now,
the answers are are changing rapidly. When you and I first had the discussion after we saw that,
first phone conversation, well, we any of us saying Vince McMahon was anybody that calling in saying
Vince McMahon, but now probably if you put a poll up, I bet you like you said on social media,
a lot of people would think that was Vince McMahon on the other end of that phone. Now, I don't think
it was, but you can make a very good case. That's exactly who it was on the phone with Randy Orton.
Last night we found out, yesterday we found out that John Cena is going to be hosting
WrestleMania for two nights. We see them doing a lot of things that could be perceived as knee
jerk reactions to some soft ticket sales at Mania and maybe general interest in the product.
If the other person on the phone was Vince McMahon,
is that the WWE admitting that there's issues right now? I don't think it's, I don't, gosh,
it's a loaded question, bully. I mean, because I could say no, but I could also say, be swayed to say,
yes. I don't know how to think about it because this is something I never thought would actually
ever happen. So I almost need time to wrap my brain around that. Is that make sense?
Fair enough? Like, yesterday with the announcement of John hosting Mania,
I'm laughing about it because I'm like, well, that didn't take too long, but I have absolutely no
problem with it. Went on social media yesterday and I said, and I've said this many times on the show,
a coach has one responsibility on any given game day. He or her needs to field the absolute best
team possible to give the team the opportunity to win. End of story, yes, yes. A booker, an owner,
a matchmaker has a responsibility to put on put the best talent in the right positions to put
on the most entertaining show. So calling John Cena and saying, hey, need you to host for two days,
what do you think? Sure, I'm in great. I have no problem with that. It's not like John is coming
back and wrestling. John is coming back to host. And what did we see go through the roof
when Cena was back for a year? Ticket sales. Yep. Right? Yep. If John was on a show, they were selling out.
So now there's two shows coming up in Vegas. We still might be a little light in ticket sales.
Hey John, want to come host? It's a very smart move. It is. I don't know how much it's going to do
for a quote unquote ticket sales. I was thinking about this last night. Let's just say WrestleMania was
at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. And they had sold 40,000 and they're trying to get more people to
come. Moves like this would definitely spike ticket sales. But it being in Vegas and I've
heard it from every host that I've worked with, not exactly a quote unquote pro wrestling city.
We're so close to WrestleMania. I don't know how many people are going to make travel plans
to go to Las Vegas when you're like two and a half weeks out to WrestleMania 42. So I don't know
how much it's going to affect ticket sales, bully, but it definitely will affect interest
in WrestleMania 42, whether it's just talking about it. Now I'm excited to see it. Now I'm going
to get that ESPN app and watch it. I think there are more people going to get WrestleMania to watch
it now than this time yesterday when we're having this conversation. I will say this for West Coast
fans that might have been on the fence. Maybe seen a fan. Now it's your drive.
It's not like Las Vegas is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It's not like we're going to
Samoa or Fiji. It's still a drive for the West Coast, the surrounding states, California,
which has a huge fan base. It's not that far. So we'll see what happens with Cena. So last night,
the beginning of the show, I really asked myself, what did this further for me? What has this done
for me? How much more interested an MI in Cody's match versus Randy? Nope. Same level. But I'm
definitely more intrigued by the soap opera aspect of it. I know what kind of match I'm getting.
But now the fighting opera, the soap opera aspect of it is somebody going to ethwood Cody.
Is somebody from Randy Orton's past going to pop up to truly remind him who he is? And Dave,
I still got that thing in the back of my mind of Cody was brought in by Vince and Randy is a
hunter guy. I'm not willing to put that to the side yet. Listen, there are no wrong answers here,
bully. Like, this is what's exciting. And I'm going to disagree with you about the level of
excitement for the match. And this is why I'm more excited and I was already excited for that
match, but I'm more excited for that match because who knows when we're going to find out who's
on the other side of that line? If we go to WrestleMania 42, bully, and we still don't know who it is,
I'm going to think we might find out who it is during the match. Like, there's going to be a
part of you that keeps looking at that entrance ramp. Is somebody going to come out during this match?
If they put themselves in that position, though, you see, to me, if you find out during the match,
you're taking attention away from the match. I would almost like to see it the week before.
Not definitely not the Monday night after or the Monday or Friday night after. I'd love to see
the reveal the week before because what you just said about people looking at the entrance way.
If people looking for the entrance way, wondering if Vince McMahon is going to show up,
Stephanie McMahon is going to show up. Triple A, Trickflare, your sister's ass,
then they're not paying as much attention to the match.
I understand what you're saying, but this is where I think you could get away with it, bully.
Because to me, I mean, at least right now, I don't think this is going to be your night too.
Main event, I think this is going to be your night one main event. I think your night two main event
is going to be Roman and punk. So I'm okay, just like WrestleMania 40, which we're going to go back
and look at as one of the greatest WrestleMania of all time. That was kind of like a bit of a cliffhanger
and tonight one. And I think you're going to get the same thing here for WrestleMania 42.
I think it's not going to be so much about the match. It's going to be more about the story
and what comes next. I think that's what at least right now and I could change over the next two
and a half weeks. I think that's going to be the case for night one of WrestleMania 42.
I would have no problem with them telling me the Friday night beforehand who it was and see the
wind come out of Cody says, listen, if you do it Friday night, there's nothing wrong with it.
If you do it in the body of the match, there's nothing wrong with it. It's just which is the better
idea. So let's just say all of a sudden in the middle of the match, pick a name out of a hat,
music hits, comes to the ring. Immediately the announcers have to say, was that who was
Randy on the phone with? Yes, we're speculating. If somebody just shows up and causes a distraction,
Cody Rhodes turns around, looks at this person, turns back around RKO123. Do we know that that
person was definitively on the phone with Randy Orton? And we won't in the moment but you just
set it up perfectly. Music hits, whoever it is comes out. Cody turns around. Michael Cole says,
is that who was on the phone with Randy Orton? You see the life come out of Cody's face.
And as he's standing there, Randy's behind them with a big smile from ear to ear. Cody turns
around RKO123. We have a new one disputed WWE champion. No one's going to complain about. I don't
think anyone's going to complain about. I mean, I mean, I guess we're going to have to figure out
who that person is that comes out. I have to think bully and we've been wrong before. We always
talk about this drop the ball situation. The way this is being set up and how they drop the ball
for the main event of WrestleMania 41 in Vegas, they ain't dropping the ball ever. WrestleMania 42,
brother. Dave, if you had a gun to your head and you genuinely had to bet your entire life,
everything that you and Veal let it have from your house to your cars to whatever, your entire
life depended on this guess. Who was Randy Orton on the phone with?
And again, you're putting a gun to my head. I am not 100% sure, but if I had to guess life on
the life triple H. Fair enough. Because just, you know, and you know what? And that answer,
that answer may come back into play a little bit later on in the show when I connect the dots.
Yeah, because you just said, and I thought it too, this would have been the perfect time
for triple H to come out. Well, maybe there was a reason why triple H didn't come out. And I go
back to that smile that Stephanie and McMahon had on her face when Cody left the ring. If I had
to guess, it would be triple H. Coming up next, our conversation on Opa Femi and Brock Lesnar.

All right, last night, bully. In Madison Square Garden, special building,
full house, and I'm watching it, and I'm with Armando Estrada who I sat down in an interviewed
yesterday. We're going to play that interview for you tomorrow on our Wednesday show. And watching
Brock Lesder in the ring last night, who was ready for a fight, and I got to tell you, bully,
watching Brock Lesder. I don't think I've ever seen Brock Lesder more intimidating,
in better shape. I mean, just he looked absolutely like a fucking ass kicking bad ass.
Maybe more than I've ever seen him in his career, the way I saw him last night in that ring.
And Paul Heyman is saying he's looking for a fight. And then he grabs the microphone from Paul
Heyman and says, Oh, but get your ass out here. Let's fucking go.
And then you get, you know, you get Adam Pearson, all the security guards coming at whatever.
Let's put that aside. Oh, but comes out and bully that place exploded last night,
exploded. And Armando Estrada is with, you know, he has another business now. He's extremely
successful outside of wrestling. And he's with some clients that I don't think were, quote,
unquote, wrestling fans. And in that moment, bully, he looked around and he said to everybody,
this is what pro wrestling is all about. This is what pro wrestling is all about. And I got,
I had goosebumps. The crowd, Obas presence, the face to face with Brock Lesner. Like,
if you want to sell me on a match, they could not have done a better job than what they did last night.
In a no better place to Madison Square Garden, no better pitchman than Paul Heyman. And you talk
about the credible bad ass that's been around for a long time. Brock Lesner, who looks better than
he's I've ever seen him. And now this new guy that could take the mantle of being the next
generations Brock Lesner. There's no better person than Opa Femi. And I'm looking at Brock Lesner,
bully before Opa came out. And I'm like, holy shit. Me and Armando are looking at each other.
Holy shit, dude. He looks like, look at him. Look how fucking big he is. And then Opa came out.
And we were like, holy shit. Now, Opa didn't make, look, make Brock look small.
But Opa looked bigger than Brock. I did 10 seconds ago. I didn't think that was possible.
Dude, I, holy, you, you could tell me Opa Femi Brock Lesner is your main event night number two
of Wrestlemania. I'd be like, okay. Yeah, but Dave, you got Roman and punk. You got Cody
and Roe and Randy. Oh, I don't care. I'm okay with Brock. Yeah, but Dave, you're talking about
the Universal Championship and the World Championship. I don't care. I'm okay. You could,
they did a good enough job that you could have sold me that that's your main event for night
number two of Wrestlemania 42. I was like a 12 year old kid again watching that segment in
Madison Square Garden last night. The beauty of the simplicity of defined haircut characters,
big men about to do battle. I really can't add to anything that you just said about Opa and Brock.
And after seeing last night, is there any doubt in your mind that Opa Femi needs to defeat Brock
Lesner at Wrestlemania? Opa Femi needs to be Brock Lesner at Wrestlemania.
That's just because you know, we talked about the lightning in the bottle to be in the crowd
in New York last night, bully, to hear that crowd, that response. I mean, bully, Opa has been on
the main roster for a cup of coffee, man. Have you ever heard a response like that in Madison Square
Garden? Was that the biggest response you've ever heard? Outside, outside of Hulk Hogan.
So Hulk Hogan first in the garden, then Opa and Brock. Now, I wasn't there like you to see Jimmy
Snucka and Dom Morocco. So I'm going to, I'm going to probably, but look at what we're talking
about here. Correct. Sergeant slaughter, iron, chic, Hulk Hogan, Dom Morocco, Jimmy Superfi Snucka.
Like and Opa Femi and Opa Femi and Brock Lesner. Opa Femi who's been there for a cup of coffee.
Like the who? Like everybody was, you know, the reaction. People doing the dance in their seats.
What moves, what moves did they do in the ring? Nothing.
Zero. They walked around. They looked at each other. They looked menacing, intimidating.
They looked like two beasts, two gladiators about to do battle. The simmer, the boil,
the rolling boil, the anticipation, the wanting to see these two come together.
That's the way it's done. If, if fully, if you're going to have Opa go over on Brock Lesner, which
I personally think needs to be what needs to happen. And you have that to kick off WrestleMania,
that's going to carry you through the entire show. That feel good moment will carry you through
the entire show. I'm putting Opa and Brock on first. It doesn't matter whether it's night one or not
two. I'm putting Opa and Brock on first. And if, if you really, do you think that there's more
energy? We always talk about that pre rock and roll show energy. You know, like when the lights go
down before a kiss show and they play rock and roll by Led Zeppelin and they get you ready for,
all right, you wanted the best you got the best. Do you think that pre show energy is bigger
night one or night two? Night one. I put Opa and Brock on first match night one, just a way to kick
off, just to kick off first entrance of the night, Opa family. Like this is, and I'm going to,
this is going to be a crazy comparison and feel free to kick me in the balls. Feel free to kick
me in the balls. But I'm going to go back to 1984. Hogan, the WWF for a cup of coffee. I know he
used to be there. He left. He was in the AW. He comes back, has a tag match with Bob backland.
Basically, that's it. And the next thing you know, he's in a championship match against the iron
cheek for the WWF championship to kick off 1984, beat them in just over five minutes. And that kicks
off whole Romania in the WWF and carries that company for the next seven or eight years.
There is a possibility here to have that same kind of momentum with Opa Femi. You know, all those
people saying, well, Opa Femi is just got here. And Opa Femi may not be ready. Listen, hearing that
crowd at Madison Square Garden and basically bully, we've been hearing that kind of reaction
everywhere for Opa Femi, right? I mean, not just last night, but every night for Opa.
Opa Mania is running wild, brother. Why would you not want to go with it? Why would you want to
wait? Why? Well, is he ready? I don't know. Let's find out together.
If I had the pencil, when it came to Opa Femi, I would put the foot on the gas pedal so hard and
never let up. And the first person to say to me, yeah, but fuck you, you're fired.
I am pushing the gas pedal all the way down the floor, put the pedal to the mother truck in metal.
Who cares? If something happens on the way, we'll fix it along the way. We'll fix it on the fly.
Do it. When was the last time you put the pedal to the metal on any talent? You got to go
back to the rocks. You got to go back to the curts. You got to go back to the randies. You got
something special in Opa. Don't sit there and discuss it. Fuck it. Don't it and go. I'm with you,
bully. I, I, there is no. Yeah, but maybe he's so new. Maybe his selling. Maybe he's not ready.
Fuck it. He's ready. Throw him in. Do it. Just do it. Raw energy. Do not tap the brakes on this guy.
Even a little bit pretend that there are no brakes.
You're sitting here telling me you're, you're using Opa Femi's name in the same sentence and same
breath as Hulk Hogan, Iron Sheik, Morocco, Snooka, Sheik, slaughter. Yep. And Opa Femi. Yep.
Who technically belongs nowhere near those names and that conversation. But I'll be damned
after last night. He does. And bully, it's not like they had a match. It's, it's not like Opa Femi
beat Brock Lesnar last night and got that type of reaction. He got that type of reaction.
Just walking to the ring and standing in the ring face to face with Brock Lesnar.
bully, you cannot and anybody that doubts anybody that says that, but you would, I, if like you
said, if there's a creative person in that room that says, yeah, but you're fired. Get out.
Pack it. Don't hit the elevator. Hit the down button on the elevator. Don't let the door
hit you on the ass on the way out. And by the way, and by the way, fuck you.
By the way, fuck you and never watch wrestling again.
Because you'll buy the way. Take care, brush your hair. Here's a brush. Here's a brush.
You're fuck. Take care. Take care. You're fuck.
And that's how you handle Opa Femi's push.
Because you cannot guarantee me. What are you going to say to the pops going to get bigger?
The crowd's going to get louder. How much louder can it get? But hey, I'm watching.
I'm watching grown men and women doing the Opa strut.
Like I was with the Mando strut. Do we, we were looking around the arena saying,
holy shit. We actually was like, at first we're like, are they piping in this crap?
Like it was so loud. And we were like, look at it. Like holy shit. Hold on. Hold on. I want to ask you one
question. Be honest. Are you embellishing at all? No. Not even a little. Nope.
Last night, you were a part of something special. Yes.
To what I said to you before the show, I want to get into something that made me feel like I was 12
years old again. Last night, that segment made me feel like I was 12 years old again.
Okay. Now, I need to point out some things that happened. That to me, we're glaring holes.
That maybe, and I know you're going to be like, bully, I don't give a fuck. The segment was too
great. Blah, blah, blah. Okay. I get it. But these as great as the entire segment was, things
happened in the segment that made no sense to me. That segment last night. Break it down for me.
Okay. So here are the outside things that caught my eye that made me scratch my head a little bit.
Oba comes to the ring. And Pierce comes out chasing with security guards.
Oba Femi tossed Adam Pierce to the side. Oba Femi put his hands on the general manager of
Monday Night Raw. Yes. Yes. What happened the last time we saw somebody put their hands on the GM
of Monday Night Raw? Yeah. Yeah. You're going to be away for a while.
As the night went on, we never saw Adam Pierce be mad at Oba Femi. Look for Oba Femi. As a matter of
fact, as the night went on, we saw him lean on looking for Paul Heyman. Yes.
So that was a disconnect that a young, a brand new wrestler to the roster, a young boy,
because that's what Oba Femi is. He might be a man, but he's a young boy in the business.
Just decided to put his hands on the Raw General Manager. There has to be some kind of
repercussions for that, doesn't it? You would think so. It's not like, oh, well, he just got caught
up in the moment of Madison Square Garden and decided to toss Adam Pierce into the barricade where
Adam Pierce took a bump. A little bit of a disconnect for me. And you could solve it quickly
with Adam Pierce in the back saying, you know, we're two and a half, we're less than three weeks
away from WrestleMania 42. This is too big of a match for us. I am not going to, I am not going
to interfere in that. Like, you could do a little, whether you buy it or not, it doesn't matter,
but at least put that out there. So there's a little bit of an explanation.
They didn't do it last week. I mean, they didn't do it last night. They should really do something
next week, or at the very least put something out on social media with Aaron Pierce's acknowledging
what happened. And he either lets it go or whatever, but you can't have Oba Femi just tossing around
Adam Pierce and not acknowledge it in some way, shape or form where there being some repercussions.
True. That's number one. Yes, you agree. I agree. I honestly, you didn't even need Adam
Pierce in those security guards last night. Completely unnecessary. So
the only reason I liked it is it showed that Pierce tried to take control, but then Oba Femi
wasn't going to listen. He was going to come out anyway. Anyway, here's where things get a little
wonky for me. I'm going to go back to the beginning of the show. Stephanie smacks Cody.
Stephanie goes to walk away. Cody puts his hands on Stephanie, grabs her wrist aggressively.
On a scale of 1 to 10, we'll call it a 5. In that moment in time, I was expecting
triple H to come out. You just put your hand on my wife. That's why I used you as the example. If
I grabbed via his wrist, the way Cody Rhodes grabbed Stephanie's wrist, even though we're besties,
you would you would bow up to me. Yes or no? Yes. You'd have to with your wife. You have to defend
your wife's honor. At the very least, you'd be like, bully, what are you doing? Take your hands off
my wife. We don't get triple H in the beginning, but we get triple H in the end.
Triple H came out to separate Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi. Oba Femi put his hands on Adam Pierce.
And then triple H comes out to separate Oba and Brock, but he didn't come out earlier
when Cody put his hands on his wife. That did not make sense to me. I can understand that.
I can understand that, but there could be reasons that play out bully that will help you make sense
of it. I'm hoping that it does. Now, here's one of the things that I found real interesting
about triple H's appearance last night. Does anything come to mind for you, Dave? What was
interesting about triple H's appearance last night? What? It was the lack of something,
music. No music and entrance for triple H. Now, I think that that was a great thing,
because music and entrance for triple H puts too much emphasis on triple H, and you don't want
to overshadow the moment. But maybe they're saving that music for a bigger moment in time,
and they don't want to play it. Would you have had triple H come out at all?
Last night, here's okay. I'm so glad you said that, because it saves me from asking you,
do you know why triple H came out? So I'm going to ask you anyway. Do you know why triple H came out?
Why? Do you have, but no, with the wrestling knowledge that you have, do you have a guess?
I think it adds weight to the ton of moment and how important that match up is.
That's a fair answer. Yeah. If you don't bring triple H out, how do you get out of the segment?
There has to be some physicality. And if there's no physicality, what has to happen?
Somebody has to back down. Triple H is the perfect person to do it. You have, you need and out.
You have to be able to get out of that segment in one way, shape, or form. I'm shocked.
That Brock listened to Hunter, which is good because it shows Hunter's authority
that even Brock Lesnar and Brock and Hunter are, what's it called? They're, they've wrestled
at the same time. They're, yeah, they're, they come from that same, yeah. Peers, thank you. Peers.
But Brock realizes and Paul realizes that, you know, triple H runs the show.
My, I'm gonna go back to the point one more time. Triple H did not come out when Cody put his hands
on Stephanie, but he did come out to break these guys up later. But I also feel like in that
opening segment, first of all, Stephanie can handle herself. Second, they're baiting Cody.
They're baiting Cody. And, and that's exactly how that segment went down last night.
I loved it. Kets the full three hours of busted open every day of the week at 9 a.m.
