The Dodgers didn't just place players in the Lockdown MLB Top 100.
They took it over.
Seven made the list, including to the surprise of absolutely nobody,
Shohei Otani, at number one.
You are Lockdown Dodgers.
Your daily Los Angeles Dodgers podcast, part of the Lockdown podcast network,
your team every day.
What's up, everybody?
I'm Harry Ruiz.
That's Travis Rogers.
And it's time for Lockdown Dodgers, part of the Lockdown podcast network,
the number one sports podcast network.
On today's show, the WBC delivered one of the best atmospheres,
baseball we've seen in years with USA versus Mexico,
living up every bit of the hype we had on it.
Unfortunately, in the same tournament, Hassan Kim suffered a hand injury.
What could that mean for LA's second base situation, only 16 days away from opening day?
But first, Travis, the Dodgers absolutely dominated the Lockdown podcast network,
MLB Top 100 rankings, with more players on the list than any team.
Yeah, I don't think that's a huge upset to anybody.
I think that we all kind of saw that cover.
We'll get into it on today's episode of Lockdown Dodgers,
which is brought to you by MLB, the show 26.
Visit MLB, the dot show, slash locked on and use the code,
locked on to unlock a pack for use in Diamond Dynasty.
You can preorder now.
It's available March 17th on PlayStation 5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
And it is rated E for everyone weekdays.
Travis sets the tone on 710 ESPN LA from three to six,
holding it down on the Travis Hando Marcos show.
For me, when I'm not on the call for USC football in Espanol,
this is where I lock in every weekday talking Dodgers baseball with you.
If this is your first time here, you're right where you're supposed to be.
If you're an everydayer, you already know this show doesn't move without you.

Locked. That's 2793.
356 2533.
All right.
The Dodgers dominate the MLB top 100 list for Lockdown podcast network.
When you look at MLB's top 100 players list this year with Lockdown,
one thing becomes very, very clear, very, very quickly.
The Dodgers are absolutely loaded.
Seven Dodgers made the list the most of any team in baseball.
And Travis, in the videos, the shorts that we were requested by our bosses in the network,
I did the number one.
And I said, hey, man, you're not the top 100 list.
It's Shoehl, Tonya, number one.
And everybody else fighting for number two.
It's no surprise that the best player in baseball for the last couple of years
keeps getting that number one shot in every top 100 list,
especially ours here at Lockdown.
Yeah, look, I mean, I think there was the game that we saw last night,
between the Mexican team and the American team,
was loaded with, I mean, Aaron Judge put on a show.
Bobby Whit Jr. put on a show.
Like, these guys are just incredible ball players,
just some of the very best that you're going to see.
And no one is arguing that they should be number one on this list.
No one that is paying any attention at all,
would ever argue that anybody other than Shoehl,
Hey, O'Tani, should be at the top of the list,
the way that he has played.
Really, from the moment that he's come into the league.
And we were talking about this the other day on my radio show.
And kind of trying to figure out where O'Tani is in the career arc.
You come into the league, you get better, you get better,
and then hopefully you hit your prime,
and you kind of stay at your prime for as long as you possibly can.
And then if you're very lucky, you slowly start to taper off
into the second part of your career.
I don't know where O'Tani is in that curve.
He's still getting better.
As crazy as it is, the last two seasons
are clearly the best two seasons that he's had in the major leagues.
And neither one of those seasons were really with him
fully unlocked as a pitcher.
We're going to finally see him fully unlocked as a pitcher this season.
What does that look like?
I don't know if it's a say young.
I don't know how many starts he's going to make,
but I can't wait to see it.
So he is the easiest choice.
If we were doing this in the NFL,
we could go 100 rounds and not agree on this.
If we were doing this in the NBA,
we could go, you know, you want Luca, you want SGA,
you want Yokech.
We could go around and around and around.
In baseball, we're done after one second.
It's O'Tani and the conversation is over.
There's debates in every sport.
In baseball, there isn't.
It's like, judge is an incredible player.
He's number two.
He isn't Shohei O'Tani.
He can't do all the things that Sho does.
He's not stealing bases when he's not pitching.
He's not doing 50-50s in batting and running
or in batting and pitching.
It's just out of this world.
He defies logic and Shohei O'Tani
absolutely deserves being number one on this list.
Then in the top 10, the Dodgers have another player.
And it's Yoshi Nobu Yamamoto coming in at number nine.
And Travis, I love it.
And I'll give a lot of props to our fellow Lockdown
podcast network baseball host
that they gave Yoshi a top 10 finish
after what he did in the postseason last year.
He had a great regular season.
It was really good.
But to be able to top Paul Schienz,
it's going to be tough right now.
But then Yoshi just took over in the postseason,
pitching a pair of complete games.
And in the big, when the lights were the brightest,
he was shining brighter than anybody else.
And he put the Dodgers team on his shoulders
when this team needed him.
So giving him number 10, I love it.
Yeah, no, number nine.
Sure, being inside the top 10,
I think it's exactly where he should be.
I think that there's an argument
that maybe you could slide him a spot or two higher.
But it feels like he's about where he's supposed to be.
I think that the further we get away
from the 2025 World Series,
the more we're going to appreciate
what it is that Yamamoto did.
Like we're always going to remember Miguel Rojas' home run.
We're going to remember the play at the plate
where Will Smith got his cleat back on.
We're going to remember that Will Smith had a home run
in the 11th inning to actually win the game.
Like all of that.
But Yamamoto was the MVP of that series
and it wasn't close.
Like he absolutely was there.
Not only did he pitch in both game six and game seven,
you know, started game six, multiple innings
and game seven back to back.
He was getting ready in the bullpen
in that crazy game three that went 18 innings.
He was probably going to be the next guy into that game
if the Dodgers weren't able to win that
on Freddie Freeman's home run in the 18th inning.
So he is one of the best pitchers in baseball.
Like you said, schemes and scoobles and these other guys,
they're on a level that's probably their own right now.
But Yamamoto is getting closer
and who knows what 2026 has in store?
Because if you told me that you saw the future Harry
and Yamamoto was the best pitcher in baseball,
I wouldn't call you a liar.
I think that's certainly a possibility.
Four World Series wins under his belt
and he's barely two years into his major league career.
It's ridiculous.
So I want to check the top 10 first before we go
into the rest of the list for the Dodgers.
Shohei O'Tonney, number one, Aaron Judge, number two,
Paul Schienz comes in at number three,
Bobby Whit Jr. number four,
Tarek Skubo, number five, Juan Soto is six,
Cal Raleigh is seven, Jose Ramirez, eight.
Yoshinobi Yamamoto, nine and Vladimir Guerrero,
Jr. 10.
Thoughts Travis, you like it?
I the only one in there that made me kind of go,
eh, is Soto.
And Soto is a great player, don't get me wrong.
Like Soto, the way he gets on base, he can hit,
he can do it.
Juan Soto is a terrific, terrific player,
but Juan Soto is really one dimensional, right?
Those other guys, I think impact winning
a great deal more than Juan Soto has.
Juan Soto's been on some good teams,
Potteries were good when he was there,
he went to the World Series,
won the World Series with the Nationals,
went to the World Series with the New York Yankees
a few years ago, but when he's asked to do it relatively
by himself or just to kind of be the anchor of these teams,
it feels a little different.
I'm not trying.
I think he's about where he should be,
but I would push him further towards the back
of the top 10 than in the middle.
That's the only one.
And his defense is definitely so.
Sorry.
We'll definitely keep that in mind.
Let's keep on rolling with the Dodgers players
on the top 100 list.
Kyle Tucker is coming in at number 19,
the massive addition in the off season
for the boys in blue.
He's a complete player, power defense,
on base ability,
and now he's adding that skill set
to an already loaded Dodgers lineup.
So this is the third player in the top 20 for the boys in blue.
Some people are saying he's pretty high too high
in the opinion of some Travis 19,
the third Dodger on this list
before playing in his first game
for the boys in blue in the regular season.
Yeah, we'll see.
It does feel high to me if I'm being honest.
He's certainly in the top 25 or the top 30,
the top 20 feels, you know,
I think that there are some other guys
that on the Dodger team that I've just seen.
And this is probably my bias more than anything else,
just having seen Will Smith more,
having seen Mookie Betts more,
having seen Freddie Freeman more
that you kind of land into those spots.
But he's certainly going to have an opportunity
to stake his claim to 19.
If not higher,
hitting where he's going to hit,
being in the lineup that he's going to be inside.
But I'm excited to see him.
I'll be honest, I've seen him play some,
but I have not seen him play, you know,
day in and day out the way I have a lot of other players.
I always think about this when the Dodgers acquired Mookie Betts.
I knew Mookie Betts was a really good player.
I knew that he was, you know, an MVP
and was a guy that, you know,
was one of the best guys in the league.
But watching Mookie every single day
when he came over the Dodgers like,
oh, now I really start to get it.
Now I really understand what it is
that he brings a team that isn't just
on the back of a baseball card.
So I'm hoping to have the same experience with Tucker.
All right, let's go now with the familiar faces.
Freddie Freeman, 21 Mookie Betts, 23 to players
who have been the backbone of this franchise now for years.
Freddie is consistent.
He's a stable presence.
Meanwhile, Mookie had a down here,
but the hope is that,
hey, he can keep an elite level
even in the second half of that massive contract
he signed with the Dodgers.
Definitely two top 25 players
when it comes to Freddie and Mookie.
And it's like a big credit to them
where it's like the later phase of their career
and they're still up there
considered by experts as some of the top 25 players
in baseball.
And I think that's about where they should be.
I think that the really interesting one is Mookie.
Mookie, if we're doing this on his career,
feels like he should probably be a little higher.
If we're doing this on his season in 2025,
it feels like he should be much, much lower.
So I think you kind of put those things together
and you get what you get where he is.
I'm excited to see what he's gonna have in 2026.
Freddie Freeman might be the most consistent
major league baseball player I've seen
in the last 15 years or so.
He just, he shows up every year.
He hits somewhere around 300 or 310.
He's gonna hit somewhere around 25 home runs.
He's gonna hit somewhere around 40 doubles.
He's gonna play a really good first base.
He's gonna run the bases really well.
He is just as rock solid as they come.
So, you know, put Freddie Freeman in the top 25
from here until the end of time.
No doubt about it.
Then there's Will Smith, number 27.
And honestly, you can make the argument
that he might still be underrated nationally.
Of course, Cal Rally.
He's the only catcher on top of Smith in this ranking.
And deservedly so, so after the last season,
but I wouldn't be surprised to have his if after the 2026 season.
It's Will Smith having that title
of the best catcher in baseball,
especially with the way that the Dodgers lineup is stacked.
And it's like, well, one guy that can take big advantage
of it is the Fresh Prince.
Yeah, no, he's great.
I mean, like we've talked about,
he hit the home run to win the World Series for the Dodgers.
And I think that he's a victim of a couple of things.
Number one, he's on a team that's got, you know,
a billion good players.
So it's hard to stand out in an environment like that.
And the other thing, and I, this is not a criticism.
This is just a statement of fact.
He's incredibly understated.
Like he just, he just doesn't really say much at all.
There's not a big personality there.
And that's just who he is.
He's not doing anything wrong.
It's just he's, he's a pretty understated, quiet guy.
So to kind of jump up, he doesn't hit 60 home runs like Cal Raleigh.
So he's a great player.
I wouldn't trade him for any other catcher in the league,
but I think he's just a victim of his personality
and the fact that he's on one of the greatest teams ever assembled.
And last but certainly not least, Blake Snow at number 45,
the two-time Sai Young Award winner,
who is part of this rotation whenever he's healthy.
And we didn't get to see him much in the regular season,
but we saw him when it counted the most,
which is the playoffs and Travis.
That's one of the cool things about these top 100 lists,
including ours here in the Lockdown Podcast Network.
It doesn't just matter about like, for example,
the Sai Young Award of the MVP Award,
which those are regular season awards, right here.
You can look at what they did throughout the entire year,
including regular season, pole season, and the Dodgers.
Not only have seven players in the top 100,
they have seven of them in the top 50.
And still, I feel like we can make an argument here
on that there needs to be more Dodgers on this list.
Max Muncie to Oscar Hernandez, Tyler Glass now,
now Edwin Diaz as well.
So it's a cool exercise that we get to do.
We've seen these lists done by other networks
with ESPN, with the athletic, whatever.
We have here ours, the Lockdown Podcast Network.
And I think it hit the spot.
Yeah, snow just needs to pitch more for the Dodgers.
And maybe he will, maybe he won't.
We'll see what the health is,
and we'll see what the need for him is.
But I'm with you.
I felt like Diaz could have been on that list.
And another guy who just doesn't play enough,
if he played enough, I don't think there's any question
he'd be on the list, is Tyler Glass now.
He just doesn't pitch enough.
You know, the stuff is certainly there.
So you could make an argument that they could have
11 or 12 guys on this list.
And I don't think anybody would think you're being silly.
And the Dodgers aren't playing to get the most players
on the top 100 list.
They're playing the win a world series.
So sometimes you see that strategy more focused
onto having everyone healthy for October,
instead of just being like, oh, let's get players
on this top 100 list.
And it reinforces what we already knew.
The Dodgers are the team everyone in baseball
is chasing boat with the titles.
And also, hey, that's the team with the most talented players.
Speaking of players around the world that are great,
coming up on Lockdown Dodgers,
the Dodgers had a little bit of a scare in the WBC
involving a player who might be fighting
for an opening day starting job.
Today, I'm thrilled to be talking about our sponsor.
MLB, the show 26, the greatest game in baseball
is back with its newest installment.
Baseball fans are going to have a hard time pulling them
to themselves away from this amazing game, right?
My kids go crazy for this game.
I like just kind of sitting and watching them go at it.
They start to chirp each other.
It's just like a real game.
They get super competitive.
The graphics are amazing.
The game play is amazing.
They're talking about their spin on their pitches
and squaring.
I absolutely love it.
It really does feel like you're watching a real game.
And of course, you get to use all the guys, right?
So for instance, you can beat Miguel Rojas from the Dodgers.
You can re-enact that game's seven-hole run
that made the Dodgers back-to-back World Series champions.
You get to do all of these things.
You get to play as a franchise with your favorite team.
You get to go into career mode and live your dream

Heson Kim, injury scare in the World Baseball Classic.
One of the most interesting roster battles right now
for the Dodgers this spring has been at second base.
And one of the players right in the middle of that competition
is Heson Kim.
But now there's a bit of uncertainty
after a moment in the World Baseball Classic,
where he was stealing second base in the 10th inning
of against Chinese Taipei.
And that aggressive play he ended up injuring his hand.
Travis, we still don't know the gravity of it.
We don't know how much it's going to affect them
the rest of the way.
Congrats to Korea.
They made it to the next base.
So they will be playing in the quarter finals here very soon
in Miami.
But right here, it goes to the argument of people
saying you shouldn't be playing in these tournaments
that are going down right before a season.
It's a possibility that you get injured, a counter argument.
Injuries can happen in spring training, too.
Yeah, I was going to say that, I mean, that's just silly.
That if you're playing, you could get hurt.
Whether it's in the WBC game, whether it's in a spring training
game, you could be in the batting cage
and take a bounce off of a pole and it ricochets back.
And I mean, guys get hurt.
If you participate in athletics, there
are chances for injuries.
There is no perfect environment that
is going to prevent you from not getting hurt.
The only way you don't get hurt is if you don't play.
And guys need to play.
And look, I hope it's nothing.
I hope it's small.
I hope it's just one of the little bumpers, little bruise.
And he comes right back.
And he doesn't miss any time.
And that's ideal.
I think that I would hope the same for every player
on all of these teams on every team.
You want to see the best players play.
But the Dodgers, fortunately, have built a roster
that's able to withstand some bumps and bruises
that maybe some other teams wouldn't
be able to withstand quite so easily.
So it stinks.
I'm sorry that he got injured.
And I hope that he gets healthy as soon as possible.
But I don't think it's nobody's fault.
It's just stuff happens when you play sports
and something happened to Kim.
And hopefully he's back as quickly as possible.
And if it isn't, then well, you've got Miguel Rojas.
You've got Freeland.
You've got some options that you can put at second base
and still feel like you got a really good chance
to win every time you go out there.
Yeah, when Kim left to Japan to play in the World Baseball
Classic, it seemed like he had the lead
for the start at second base for opening day.
This injury might be the reason why there's a break
to be like, ah, maybe that's not the case.
But you already mentioned a couple of names
that are solid options.
I would add Santiago Espanol too, who
has been doing great things over in Cactus League
and action Dave Roberts has already hinted
that it would be hard to leave him off the opening day roster.
How crazy would it be that when you look at the way
that the Dodgers are stacked, including the seven players
in the Lockdown podcast network top 100 list
at Santiago Espanol, second base is like, wait,
this guy wasn't even on the roster until like late February.
And he's our opening day second baseman.
That's the way the cookie crumbles in.
It would still be a good option.
And it would, it could be one of those situations
where it's like, hey, the Dodgers
help him rest his career.
He might not be sticking around for the long run.
He could be sticking around for the long run.
And that's what sometimes it's like a preparation
meets opportunity.
And when those two show up at the same time,
it ends up being great.
Kim, we hope you recover soon.
We hope you place for Korea.
It's the first time since the inaugural tournament
Travis that they make it out of the pool stage.
That's crazy.
Yeah, you know, it's funny.
I think they're in that next group of teams.
I think we know that the three heavyweights
are the DR, the US, and Japan.
Those are the three teams.
They're like, okay, if any of them won,
we'd be like, yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
They are looted.
They are just apps.
And then there's that second tier of teams.
I think Puerto Rico is in that second tier.
I think Mexico is in that next tier.
I think the Korea is in that next tier
of teams that getting to the knockout round
is very successful.
Now, you know, we saw Mexico a year or three years ago
get within this close and knocking out
Japan in the semi-finals and getting to the finals.
So those are that next group of teams
that the Korea is in there, not a huge surprise.
I think that they've got all you're seeing
more and more Korean players in the American major leagues.
The KBO is probably, you know, maybe the third best league
in the world behind the United States in Japan.
So that they're putting together a pretty good team
is not a huge surprise.
No doubt about it.
And you brought up Puerto Rico, the Boricos.
They punched their ticket into the quarterfinals
by beating Cuba.
Edwin DS shut the door in the ninth inning,
a perfect ninth inning, getting a second save
in this tournament.
So getting sugar out there, getting a succo
and getting that energy pumped up and Travis pitching
in your home country and friend of your fans
for your Puerto Rico and across the chest.
I know that it's going to be huge when he's at Dodger Stadium
in front of 50,000 people.
That's going to be special hearing the trumpets and everything.
But doing it in the tournament for your country
and front of your fans, I feel that.
That's like getting everybody even more hyped
for the regular season.
Yeah, it's just, you can tell what it means to these guys.
You can tell that just about every single one on every team,
right?
It's just the Puerto Ricans, the Dominicans,
the Americans, the Mexicans, the Japanese.
Like you can tell that it needs a great deal for them
to have the logo on their hat, to have
the name across the front of their jersey.
It is playing for something greater than just you
or greater than just the team that may have drafted you
or gave you the most money.
This is something that you're choosing to do
because you want to do it to represent your home country.
And it's incredibly fun to watch.
I like that it's every three years
because it heightens the expectations and the fun
and the anticipation.
But it also, one of those things like, man,
I wish we could do this a little more often
because the baseball is just really good.
No doubt about it.
And we will see more action over the next couple of days,
US versus Italy.
And then on Wednesday, Mexico versus Italy
might as well be a knockout game
where the winner makes it through to the quarterfinals
and the loser gets sense home packing.
Next on Lockdown Dodgers, the game everyone
was talking about after Monday night
was US Savers is Mexico, which kept us wanting more.
And we might actually get it.
College basketball is nonstop, especially this time of year.
We're talking big games, tight spreads, momentum swings,
every single night.
And when all these conference tournaments are going on,
which they are right now, early tip offs, late night
west coast shootouts, there's always action on the board.
And right now, Fandall is giving you a way
to turn that energy into even bigger potential wins
with a college basketball parlay profit boost,
which means you can build any college hoops parlay you want.
We're talking rivalry games, ranked matchups,
whatever fits your mood, right?
You can mix spreads, totals, player props to match how you see
the slate playing out and get after it.
Then you apply that profit boost and instantly bump up
that potential payout.
You can go big, you can go bold, you can go safe.
You can ride with the team that you've been following
all season long, it is your parlay,
it is your style right now with more upside behind it.
So head to fandall.com to get started, that's fandall.com.
Fandall, play your game.

Instagram at Harry underscore Ruiz
and TikTok at Harry Ruiz underscore USA versus Mexico
delivers a WBC classic.
If you needed a reminder of why the World Baseball Classic
is special, Monday night proved it.
USA, Mexico, PAC Stadium, two passionate fanbases
and an atmosphere that honestly felt closer to October
than early March.
And the game itself lived up to the moment.
The stars and stripes pulled it out five to three wind powered
by some of the biggest names in the sport.
Aaron judged.
Judge opened the scoring with the two run home run.
You had, of course, Paul Schien's doing Paul Schien's stuff
where Mexico was like, please anybody but this guy
because he's just unstoppable.
And Roman Anthony, he hit a three run bomb
that pretty much ended up being the difference
in this game.
Mexico made it a closer game towards the end
and it made for some fascinating TV
where I'm like, I want to see this game again.
I want to see these two teams face off each other.
Oh, yeah, throw Bobby Witt in there too.
He made two bonkers plays at shortstop
that were just, you know, off the charts.
I think he had a couple of hits along the way
and just, you know, kind of demonstrated why he is probably,
I think, just generally considered the third best player
in major leagues behind Otani and Judge
as far as position players go.
He's just something else.
I was listening to Judge talk about it after the game
and he said it felt like a playoff game, like October baseball.
It certainly felt like that on TV.
You know, sometimes a lot, you'll hear these players say things
like, yeah, nah, come on, man.
But I really believed him.
I thought that there was a whole bunch of energy
in that building that you can't fake.
The fans were there.
I thought that the fans were split pretty evenly
between American fans and between Mexican fans
and it just had an incredible vibe.
When Griffin Jacks came in the face,
Kirk there in the eighth inning
and fell behind the way he did in the count.
You're like, oh, you know, we're all of a sudden,
we're getting close to where one bad pitch
and this thing flips itself on a dime
and instead he gets a double play.
It reminded me a lot of the World Series
where it's like that ground ball at the middle.
You're like, oh, there it is that step on second,
go over to first base and the inning and the threat.
So brought back some fond memories there for Dodger fans,
but this tournament's great.
I wish, and I know there isn't a way to do it,
but I really do wish there was a way to play
some series in the knockout round
as opposed to just kind of one and done
because baseball doesn't really lend itself
to one and done the way some other sports might,
but I understand why they can't do it,
but I just want more of this.
That's like, hey, we're lucky we get baseball
in the World Baseball Classic,
even though it's not a best of three,
a best of five, a best of seven,
we'll take it in the knockout round
and it makes it feel different
and it differentiates from Major League Baseball.
It differentiates from just having the regular poses
and it's different, it's a win and you're in,
lose and you're out, that's pretty cool.
And yeah, you brought up the Kirk double play.
It was literally just replaying in my mind.
This time I didn't want him to hit into a double play
because the game would have been even more interesting,
but it was like, when he hit into it,
I was like, dude, literally this guy
grounds into double plays in the worst situations,
but what are the cool parts to Travis?
It's like, I love rooting for Mexico
because I lived in Mexico for 12 years.
So seeing these guys where you don't have a lot of stars,
you got some guys that the last time they played
in the big leagues wasn't 2022.
You got guys that play in the Mexican league
that is considered like AAA.
You got a team that is missing some of their best players
like Ramonorillas, they're missing Ysacbares.
They're missing a lot of their best players
because they rather stay with their big league clubs
trying to earn a spot to continue making money
instead of going and representing their country
and potentially risking that opportunity
of being in the big leagues.
Meanwhile, you got Team USA filled with stars left and right
and it was a two run game all the way to the 9th inning,
5 to 3 and it was like, hey, man, you know what?
It's David versus Goliath and the surprise might end up
happening. It didn't happen this time.
And now everybody's rooting for some way somehow,
please Mexico, make it to the final
so we can get these two teams facing off and make it happen.
I know it's hard because Mexico, if they advance,
it'll be as a second place in the pool
and they would have to play Japan more than likely
in the semis, but anything is possible.
Well, that's what makes this game so awesome, right?
That baseball, I think you can throw soccer in there
a little bit, but I think baseball is the one sport
where the team that is under manned can win
a decent amount of the time, right?
Like you think about, like the Dodgers have the best team
that we've seen on paper along them.
The Dodgers are gonna lose 50, 60 games next year.
It happens all the time.
Good teams lose to teams that don't have as many good players.
One pitcher has a good day.
You lose.
One pitcher on the other side has a really good day
and you lose.
Like it's just baseball is a weird sport
where the team that has less talent
can win about 40% of the time.
So all you got to do is get a seat.
All you got to do is get a swing, get a nap bat,
get a chance and stuff can happen.
And like you said, when Kurt came up to bat
in the eighth inning there, you're like,
and all I remember, Kurt not only is a major leagueer,
he's a very good major leagueer.
So, you know, he had an opportunity to put his team
in a position when the game.
He just didn't get it done, but it's high drama.
I love everything about it.
And Travis, some people were arguing.
It's like Mexico shouldn't throw their best pitching
at the United States, save it for it or leave.
That one's gonna be the game that determines everything
which it is gonna end up being the case.
But I love seeing it's like,
hey, man, besides the pitcher that they got those five runs
on, they didn't score against anybody else.
They were actually giving the,
they were going against Bryce Harper.
They were going against Aaron Judge
and they were struggling against these guys
that for most people, they were unknowns.
And it's like unlike the video that they have
on every single major leagueer that over the last five years,
some of these guys they don't have those clips on to study
and be like, okay, I'm gonna go blind into the sat bat
and just be my stuff is better than his
literally two swings, Anthony and Judge,
they were the difference in this game
with those home runs.
I just love being able to watch the World Baseball Classic,
man, as a baseball guy that just was crazy about baseball,
being able to turn on the TV at any time this last week
and then the next week, it's really cool
being able to see so much baseball.
Let us know in the comments below,
who do you think is gonna win the World Baseball Classic?
Are you going with one of the top three dogs
like Travis said, US, Dominican, Japan,
or are you going with an underdog, Travis?
I know you're not in the prediction business brother,
but is it gonna be underdog or somebody
that's not a surprise at all that wins it?
I just don't see how somebody gets through
those three teams without getting beat.
I just, those other three teams are better than the,
one of them getting knocked out, sure,
you could beat one, but to beat two of them
feels very, very difficult.
And I think your champ is gonna come out of those three.
I think if I had to place a bet right now,
I think I'd take Japan, but not by a ton.
I really can't wait to see it because, you know,
best part about sports is we don't know
what is gonna happen and with those three teams,
I have no idea what's gonna happen.
Shohei had the day off, Japan already had advanced,
so he didn't play in today's game
and they still were able to win.
It was a close game with the Czech Republic
all the way to the eighth inning
and then Japan absolutely took over,
but it's gonna be definitely fun.
And we're gonna be talking all about it here
on Lockdown Dodgers all week long.
All right, that'll do it for today's pod.
