Texans Strengthen Roster in Early Free Agency

The Houston Texans have made some smart moves early in free agency to shore up their roster.

They've locked in the right side of their offensive line with right tackle Braden Smith

on a two-year deal from the Indianapolis Colts, kept right.

Guard Ed Ingram for three years and added swing tackle Trent Brown through 2026.

At Titan, they signed veteran Foster Marrow for blocking help and extended Dalton Schultz

on a one-year $12 million contract through 2027.

Meanwhile, the secondary got a big boost with the addition of Super Bowl champ Reed Blankenship

on a three-year deal.

He pairs perfectly with Kalen Bullock at safety, giving Houston what could be the NFL's

top backfield alongside Derek Stingley, Kamari Lasseter and Jalen Petre.

Fans and analysts are buzzing about how these picks build depth in leadership, especially

after last season's strong defense.

The offensive line now looks more stable if everyone stays healthy and keeping Schultz

as CJ Strauss' key target keeps the passing game humming.

That said, gaps remain on the defensive interior.

They resigned Sheldon Rankins for two years but lost Tim Settle Jr. to Washington and

cut Mario Edwards to save $4 million, leaving a need for fresh talent up front.

Get the front office to target defensive tackles in late free agency, or with their 28th

pick in next month's draft.

At Y receiver, losing Christian Kirk Hertz a bit, but young guys like Jalen Higgins, Jalen

Noel, and a healthy tank Dal should keep things solid.
