In this week's Partition, we find one of the most powerful, one of the most challenging mission statements given to the Jewish people.
Hashem instructed Moshe Rebeinu to make the following declaration to Klawisrael.
For Atam Tiuli, and you shall be, to me, Ma'amu'lechis, Qahana, and Wa'gad Qadish, a Kingdom of Qahana and a Holy Nation.
So what does this phrase mean?
So this is a far no explains.
Just as the Qahana are the leaders and the role models and the bond that connects the Jewish people to Hashem,
so too all of us are Ma'amu'lechis Qahana, a nation of Qahana as it pertains to the rest of the nations.
We are the role models in the sense that we are tasked in living life in the most ethical manner,
so that the other nations of the world can emulate our behavior.
The Jewish people are known around the world as gods, chosen people.
We say every morning, Ashabakh Abanu Mikalawamen, Fennas and Lano Astarasi,
being given the Torah emphasize the responsibility of every member in Klawisrael to have an effect,
not only on other Jews, but on non-Jews as well.
The responsibility of each Jew is the goal to change the world for the better,
and making the world around where wholeness can be expressed.
Speaking of being a Ma'amu'lechis Qahana, I want to hear a wonderful idea.
We are all familiar with the word Ma'amu'lechis Qahana.
Ma'amu'lechis Qahana comes from the Hebrew word Essar, ten.
A farmer must separate ten percent of his produce and give it to the lady.
This ten is called Ma'amu'lechis Qahana, but it is not done yet.
He also must give truma to the Qahana, and in the year three and six of the Shmetah's cycle,
he gives ten percent of the honey, called Ma'amu'lechis Qahana.
And in the other years, years one, two, four and five of the Shmetah's cycle,
he gives Ma'amu'lechis Qahana, which he separates ten percent,
and he and his family eat it within the confines of Jerusalem.
So we understand that we give truma to the Qahana.
They are the ones serving in the Besa Magdash,
and Ma'amu'lechis Qahana is the reason to the lady,
because the Levium did not have a portion in Nets Israel.
Ma'amu'lechis Qahana is essentially Tzedaka for the poor,
but Ma'amu'lechis Qahana, why was that necessary?
Once the difference weird the farmer eats it in his house or in Jerusalem.
So I heard a beautiful idea.
The reason Israel had to separate Ma'amu'lechis and bring it up to Jerusalem,
it is to remind them that he is also a Qahana,
and he took his entire family with him to remind them that they are also Qahana.
Ma'amu'lechis Qahana, we are a nation of Qahana, we are all special.
All of Qahisrael is tasked with the mission of being raw models for the rest of the world.
Ma'amu'lechis Qahana, we are a nation of Qahana,
and we are all special.
