This is The Daily Grind.

Today's Bible verses James chapter 3 verses 4 and 15.

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts,

do not boast and be false to the truth.

This is not the wisdom that comes down from above,

but is earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.

Today's title is The Pull of the Platform.

James contrasts healthy living with jealousy and selfish ambition.

He says this kind of wisdom is earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.

It's just like James to get straight to the point.

Much of social media tends to fall into the category of selfish ambition.

YouTubers competing for comments and subscribers, platforms vying for your attention,

and the constant chase for likes and follows.

It's a dark hole that has become a real problem,

robbing this of our attention span and our ability to just sit still without needing to check

our phones.

We would do well to heed James' warning.

Choose today the wisdom that comes from above,

pure, peaceable, and full of mercy,

and guard your heart from the restless pool of selfish ambition.
