We went to the bullpen and called in a Hall of Fame closer to the weekend pod palooza! Hollering James from Minneapolis joins Ben for a rambunctious edition of the Fifth Hour Mailbag. Legendary for his thunderous snoring and undying love of the Ben Maller Show, James is one of the great larger-than-life cartoon characters of the Maller Militia.

The boys rip open the mailbag and tackle listener questions from around the globe, traveling down a winding road of looksmaxxing, Colombian Bam Bam, toddler fight club, J-Lo lookalikes, Navy SEAL training, robotoilets, hurricane records, bad hygiene, and plenty more.

It’s chaos, comedy, and questionable life advice—exactly what you signed up for. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. You better listen, or the FOMO will kick in, and you’ll need an industrial-sized shipment of copium.

The clearinghouse of hot takes break free for something special. The fifth hour with Ben Mallor starts right now. In the air everywhere, the fifth hour with me, Ben Mallor and a great Sunday to you. It is the 20th day of September. We have NFL action from early to late, all the way up to the Sunday night game. And what is the Sunday night game that would be the chiefs, another prime time game against the Indianapolis Colts. That's the night cap. Before we get there, we got all kinds of action. And before we even break that down, let's spin the wheel. It is a mail bag kind of Sunday. And let's spin the wheel big money, big money. Try to find out which Mallor militia legend is going to join us on this edition of the fifth hour podcast.

We've had legends like Marcel in Brooklyn, Robbie, the Mariner fans been on more than anybody. Nico and Van Cooper, big names have been in this chair right over there. Who's going to join them on the royalty in the Mallor militia, big money, big money, big money. Stop. Hallering James from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Oh, look at that. Hallering James. My man. Unbelievable. See, this is the part you talk, James. See, this is the part you have to. Yeah, after. Hey, baby. What's up? Oh, boy. This is going to be interesting. James sounds wide awake. There are people on the prediction market trying to see if he will fall asleep during the podcast. Now to fully do the mail bag, Ohio, wow. Get me in the mood. All right, very good. So James has been calling the show for many, many years.

How many years have you been calling the show, Hallering James? We go way back me and you many, many years. You've been waiting. I'm waiting for a better, but tell me my cat. I don't need a shout out. Or what she said. I'm going to set something up. And I want to see if Jack, I need a better. I need for bringing you to a mermaid to see bed. Well, she didn't disclose where you were going to be. She didn't know. I don't actually found out from the show. Yeah, well, it was great to meet you James. We had a wonderful time at the mermaid. It was a great event. And hope you can see the sound of band. All right, all right, calm down James. Now, James is famous. I think everyone who listens to the show knows who Hallering James is. Have you enjoyed your celebrity James that you're a big well-known member of the mall in Malaysia? Because you're known for sleeping a lot, snoring your legendary. And you got the nickname, Hallering James. Because you're very loud. And you got kicked out of the place you were living.

Because you loved the show so much, you kept screaming in the middle of the night, which we love about you. And let's not forget James. How many pills do you take in the morning? And how many pills do you take at night? 36 in the morning, 36 at night. That's right. That's 72 pills. This man is keeping big pharma alive, Hallering James. Without James, big pharma would go out of business. So we have questions here from random people. And we're just going to go through this. The mail bag, the email address. If you'd like to send a question in in a future edition of the mail bag, it's real fifth hour at gmail.com. That's real fifth hour at gmail.com. And you can be part of the show that way. First up is Shane from Dallas, Texas. Who writes, you ever been to Dallas, Hallering James? I was in Dallas and I got positive word. Okay. Shane in Dallas, right?

Since it's been and blank, we love your lexicon. And I know you have said you were self taught your vocabulary. Do you approve Shane and Dallas says of the new words added to the Marion Webster dictionary? And then he sent me there are 1400 new words that have been added to the Marion Webster dictionary. Including the big three are copium, Rick roll and looks maxing. And so rather than me answer this question Shane, I'm going to defer to my friend, Hallering James. I'm going to guess that you do not know what any of those terms mean. James, you know, look looks, Maxing copium and Rick roll. Do you know what those terms mean? Any of them. Oh, really? Okay. What is what is what is Rick roll mean, James? Rick or all mean you got to be like Rick Ross, you got it wrong. I'm in Rome saw. Either that or it's an internet thing where you put a video up and then in the middle of the video, you play a Rick Astley 1987 hit never going to give you up.

This actually, this is odd to me. This has been around. I know Shane, you know this, but this has been around since the 2000s, early 2000s. And here we are in 2026 and now it is being added to the to the Lexicon. It's still popular, but I remember when that became a thing back in the day and I said, oh man, you got Rick roll. And might I add when I was doing early days at Fox Sports Radio, I, we got Rick rolled a couple of times. We would place stuff off like YouTube and then this goes back probably 20 years. We'd place stuff off YouTube and in the middle of it, it would Rick roll us, which is, which is to what is copium? Holler, yeah. It's copium with everything that goes on. Okay. It's probably a pill that you take. A copium is a combination of cop and opium. And so that is an official word in the in the language in the dictionary anyway. Nothing. It has been added. Copium is now words. You have to use the word copium.

It is now officially defined as denial or minimization of an unfavorable situation. Imagine as a narcotic. Let me let me let me covening with everything that's going on. I've been covening with everything that goes on copium. Well said, James. And now we have looks maxing as well. Now when I met you, I think of you as a looks maxing kind of guy, James. What is hollering James in Minneapolis, Minnesota? Think that looks maxing is what do you think? Look, man, Syria is looking low when you're down, but you stand up in the crown. I love that you answer every one of these questions and you're not anywhere near being correct. But I love the fact that you're answering the questions. You're not afraid of being wrong. Looks maxing according to Merriam Webster defines as the practice of taking sometimes extreme and even dangerous measures to improve your physical attractiveness.

Like you don't need to do that, James, because you're just like a runway model over there. And so there's no need for you to do that. But some people do extreme things to try to look better. Alright, so that does happen. And yeah, some of the other words, we have Sunday scary's. And that's where you're sad because you realize your weekends about over. We don't have the Sunday scary's here. We have the Saturday scary's because we go back to well, we technically we don't take a day off because of this podcast. But the overnight radio show broadcast Sunday night in the Monday. So we have the Saturday scares. We don't have the Sunday scary's. Some of the other words they added this year are according to Shane here, vibe coding. I don't know what that is. Peri social uncanny valley. I don't know what that is. Like cuffing season. That sounds taboo. California sober trash panda. I've heard of that. And the Mandela effect. How was the Mandela effect? Not part of this prior to that. I don't understand.

Alright, thank you Shane. And Dallas, I appreciate that Ryan and Reno writes in. Reno, you know, it's state Reno is in. Hullering James. I'll get you. What you so smart over there. And Ryan says, Ben, this is my first email to a radio show or a podcast. I'm 68 years old. I don't know who you're working with. I'd like to compliment you on the consistency of your overnight show. I do enjoy daytime radio. And some of the hosts I listen to I can tell are not that into it some days. What is the secret to your success? And he says, why do others not have the same work ethic? Well, I don't, Ryan, I don't listen to much. I don't, I don't really listen much of the daytime stuff. So I don't know you'd have to talk to them. And I don't brag about the work ethic and all that. But the secret is here's the secret. And you know this James. At some point they're going to rip the microphone out of my hands to take the headphones off my head. They will not do that because the quality of the product.

They will do that because they're cheap. They will do that because of other reasons, but they will not do that because of the quality of the product. The product, the consistency is important. And as I've, I've mentioned you go to a Starbucks. I've been all over the country. You go to McDonald's that you get a big Mac in L.A. Or New York or Boston or Minnesota or Houston. That big Mac's going to taste the same. You go to a Starbucks and I don't drink coffee. My wife does but we get, you know, we go stop on road trips and it's the same. So that's it. That's it. And yeah, I do know when guys do open phones. For an entire show that's assigned they didn't want to prepare for the show. That's usually what that is. What else we have Hudson from Dallas writes in. And hello, that's that's two out of the first three from Dallas by the way James. We're big today on the mailbag in Dallas. Anyway, Hudson says Ben, do you think we will get a Netflix doc on the fight club involving toddlers.

And that's from Hudson. So there was this story in this goes back a little while not too far. So there was a daycare in I think this was in Texas. And they people running the daycare, I guess, were bored. So they had the toddlers fight each other. Apparently, there's it's on surveillance. It's not really up for debate. It's on surveillance. There's footage allegedly showing a teacher encouraging. Her son to fight another four year old. And as a result, the reason Hudson sent this is that there's a new update that the parents are suing. The daycare for over one million dollars. Claiming that the teacher turned the classroom into toddler fight club. So Hudson, I don't know if they've made a documentary. I don't keep up on my Netflix documentaries. I do watch it from time to time. I don't recall seeing a documentary about this. But I'm all for it. Wouldn't that be a great doc. Hullaring James to have a documentary about some lunatic in a daycare center who decided to turn a bunch of little kids in a fight club.

That would be crazy. Crazy. That's a moral. The brawl at the mall, the mayor, the mall of America. You've been to the mall of America, James. Did you visit them? Did you call me? I know. Well, that's what, yeah, there's a joke there. No, I have not. I have not been there. I only had limited time when I was in Minnesota. So I wanted to go out and see all, you know, Lake Minneton. I want to come back with that. Let me do the rope. You got to come back with the ball of America. All right. Well, there's a reason to come back, James. We can go wander around. Around the mall. Yeah, that would not be one of the rides. You go on the rides. Okay. What kind of rides do they have? They got the pool. We slide down a big slide. It's a slide, but it's a water slide. And you're like a, a, a, a, a, a lumber bar. And you get all we're at the bottom, like a roller coaster. And you go all the way down. You get splashed really splashed.

And also got to under water aquarium. As you can see all these sharks. And they were kind of fish in the world. That's not. That's outstanding, James. So let's make you know, I just thought of this. And I apologize to my guy. But here's the thing here, James. All right. You are now the head of the Chamber of Commerce for the state of Minnesota and for Minneapolis and St. Paul. Give me three reasons why someone who's never been to your state and your city should visit your town. Go ahead. Three reasons following James. They don't like the taxes. Okay, so they should visit because they don't like the taxes. All right, what else? They don't like the politicians. They don't like. So you should visit because you don't like the taxes. You don't like the politicians. And why else should they visit James? And they need to stand up. What is rights? Well, that is it.

That's likely the greatest campaign speech I've ever heard for someone to come. I'm not going to be the head of the Chamber of Commerce for you. All right. Next up on the mailbag one from Van Eyes, writes, and you have no idea where that is. James, that's in Southern California, not far away from the mother ship studios of Fox Sports Radio. Yeah. Anyway, one says, Ben, do you think what you do is harder than being a Navy seal because according to Mr. Ballin, Mr. Ballin says making videos can be harder than training to become a Navy seal. That's from Juan. First of all, Juan, I have no idea who Mr. Ballin is. I'm sure he's a nice young lad. I have no idea who that is. And I do know what bullshit is. And that is some hot bullshit. See, James, we can curse on the pockets. I normally don't say that word. But here's someone say that making internet videos can be harder than Navy seal training.

I know that's bullshit. So I don't. Come on. And if that's the case, I make four. I do four videos a day on the radio show with the mallard model. I know you subscribe to that, right? James, you're a big fan. Yes. You got to talk to Tyler Murray because he's always playing videos. Yeah, well, he's always hurt. I'm not going to be a big fan of the show. I'm not going to be a big fan of the show. I'm not going to be a big fan of the show. I'm not going to be a big fan of the show. Anyway, uh, uh, yeah, and that no one. I mean, that's nice to say. It's like, come on. Now, I will point out. I've said this before and I believe this. I've done television and radio. I'm lucky enough I had a TV show for a couple years. I've had the radio thing my whole life radio. You know, I've been one of your most loved and listeners. Sorry, I could have. Yeah, no, you're my guy, James. You know, me and you, man. You're my boy. When I go out to these events and I meet people at these mall or meet and greets around the country, your name comes up all the time. They want to know what you're like. They want to know details on the meat and greet we had in Minnesota. They're all about that. But it just to finish my thought, James.

I do believe doing talk radio by yourself, which is what I do. I don't know. I know a lot of these guys do back and forth, yin and yang. I'm by myself. I don't have anybody. Uh, I'm not going to be a big fan of the show. I'm not going to be a big fan of the show. I'm not going to be a big fan of the show. I'm not going to be a big fan of the show. I'm not going to be a big fan of the show. And that's great. That's great. I'm not going to be a big fan of the show. I don't have anybody. Uh, you know, Lorraine is a lover. She doesn't know sports and she's a. My engineer and Koupe doesn't really talk. So I am by myself for four hours a night. And that is much more difficult than a TV show. Because even in any TV show, you're going to have your executive producer going to have director. You're going to have all these people behind the scenes who are going to make you look good. And in radio, you are pants. You're exposed. So I do think that is harder. But do I believe that doing YouTube videos videos is harder than being a Navy SEAL- No, come on. Hey, all right, it's almost here. Are you ready? Just grabbing my shoes. That's what you said 10 minutes ago. I just wrapped a video call, uploading this giant file on my tablet, looking at my watch group and Nana's with the group chat, and of course, still lining up tonight's playlist on my phone.

We've learned over and over on our show, while talking to people and entertainment, that success comes when you bet on yourself. How many times have we talked to an actor who took a big risk with a challenging role because they believed they could pull it off? Well, it's a lot easier to take those risks

when you've got the practical stuff covered. And that's what Geico does so well. Imagine an actor driving to set to film the scene that's going to win them an Oscar. They're focusing on the scene, not on dealing with managing an insurance claim. Because Geico is handling that. And they don't even expect a shout out in the acceptance speech. Geico provides peace of mind, and they'll do the same for you. Maybe it's not an Oscar winning performance. Maybe it's building a career, starting the business you've dreamed about, or just taking care of your family, whatever you're betting on, Geico will make sure you're covered. Learn more at Geico.com. He says, Ben, I know you're not much of a fast food guy anymore, but are you fired up for your big-sized yellow meal at Wendy's? Yes, Leo, I might have to go to Wendy's to get a thing of fries, those sea salt fries just so I can see the yellow packaging. But big news this week, James and Leo confirming it, Wendy's is bringing back the iconic yellow packaging by demand, by demand, James, the people want yellow, and they're going to get yellow. Aren't you excited, Holler and James? Is Fred this day bringing it back?

I don't think Dave's with us anymore. He might be sending the memo from the other side across the road here, just the moment he gates. He might be coming. Yeah. Next, I don't know what else you want me to say, Leo, good. All right, fine. They're bringing back yellow packaging. What the F do you want me to say? Mike from Kansas, right since, has been our beloved Travis Kelsey, not my beloved, Mike, your beloved, has been my beloved, or our beloved Travis Kelsey, again, that's yours, of my chiefs, Phil Victim, to a Ponzi scheme. Why do so many athletes fall for these con artists? I don't know. It's not better. You have a treatment, good undercover, and a scam artist come out when people know they're at the most vulnerable position like me. Look at that, Holler and James, that is why we have you on the mail back, James. The type of commentary that you provide, and you're absolutely right. You're absolutely right. Listen, these guys are really good at what they do,

and I've had a few people over the years that I was pretty sure were Charleston's, Charleston's, my China think it was Charlotons. Like there's early James, Charlotons, guys that were grifters, right? Selling, bum co art, you know, those type of people, and it's difficult, because these guys, they dress well, they have nice cars, and they show you all the stuff that they claim to own, and I'm pretty sure Travis Kelsey just is a meat head football player who happened to end up good at football and made a lot of money. I'm relatively confident that he does not have that much insight when it comes to investments in Wall Street, and all that, and so some grifter comes along, some small-scale swindle guy, and... Well, she's hurt. Some shite, they're bad. That's right, or those Nigerian money scams, those are always good, right? Those are email, though, those are, you know, hey, my son's so died, and I have access to $50 million here in some bank.

What about the guy that impulse the San Francisco 49er football player, but never really was one, that shite, all these women? I know, how about that? I mean, these women fell for this guy, who's a fake football player, Mr. London. He's the million of their money. Pretty wild, huh? Yeah. One's wild. Look at that. Do you think you could impersonate anyone, or be the one who's a popular in James? Oh, the sports... I try, the only one, like you, how are you, man? A sports top radio figure like you. I would love to try to impersonate, cause you're the best one I need ever. You're very kind, James. Look at that. I'll give you my notes. I'll give you my notes. You're part of my fan club. You're the senior member. You're my agent, James. Reggie from Detroit writes, and Reggie's a male bag staple. He never missed... Well, that's not true. He didn't miss it a couple weeks. But he's back. He says, Ben, I saw social media people upset with you for your arch-maning take on Gigglegate, as you called it.

Did you get in trouble for thinking the whole thing was ridiculous? That's from Reggie in Detroit. Notting. It's fake internet trouble. It's not real trouble. It's an opinion. People are entitled to their opinions, I believe. And I just get a kick out of the folks that seem to think that was real or whether it's... It's satire. It's dark comedy. That is allowed. I didn't think it was particularly funny, Reggie. I just think that getting all worked up, trying to police the tone police, trying to police what you think is funny. And the rest of society's only allowed to laugh at what you laugh at, I think, is just ridiculous. And so I don't support that. And there's a lot of things I go to comedy clubs. I love comedy. I go out, a friend of the family has access to comedy clubs, so we go out. Was that a comedy show last week? And had a great time. There were a couple of comedians. They had the opener in the main event. I didn't think... I thought the opener was okay. The main guy was fine, whatever.

I didn't think it was great. And... But I'm like, sitting in a place like, well, you're not allowed to laugh at that. That's not funny. And I go, no. Okay, no, trust me. If a real woman had been hit, yeah, I'd be screaming and shouting. And you can't do that. You can't be slapping women. Obviously, it's fake, though, dummy. And that was my point. And it just blows me away how big that story became this week, Reggie. And we talked about it a couple of times. It was just the dumbest thing. And every week or every other week, there's something that pops up where I'm just like, what is that? And I'm sure you feel the same way, hollering James, with some of these ridiculous stories. Yes? Yes. All right, thank you for agreeing with me. I don't have a... All right, next... Finally, it's... Next up is Lucky Tony from the Bay Area. Lucky Tony. He says, hey, Ben, tip of the Bears cap to Fudgy in Boston. Now, I made a bet with hollering James, Lucky Tony says, that if the Bears win, James gets a golden ticket, but if the Vikings win,

he gets two golden tickets. Put it on my tab, thanks, Ben, Bears. All right, is that... Is that true? Is there a bet between Lucky Tony and you? Is that... is that accurate? I don't know when Tony's thinking of what he's drinking, but I'm still going to the... I'm... Oh! Okay, who's your favorite Viking quarterback of all time? There's only one right answer, hollering James, favorite Viking quarterback of all time. Go ahead. Is it Tyler Murray? No, that's the wrong answer. Bad job by you. Who... That's the way it's... No, I'm talking... I'm... I am... No, I'm talking about a former... That's... Don't get downed. No! Yeah, there you go. All right, Steve. Drive, and I don't think I can go for the horse, though. That was the... that was the fifth time, isn't that amazing? Yeah. I'm thinking of him. Yeah, yeah. Did you... didn't you meet Tommy Kramer at the event? He came right at the Red Raid front of the table

like I brought Cedar the Devil, the mean Jack is Megan. That's right. And we're astounding, isn't he? You guys are gonna stop eating and drinking, whenever you were drinking and enjoying your time with the socialist in your company. They're visiting my two friends and brought me there. Well, for those that don't know, Tommy Kramer was a Vikings quarterback back in the 90s. Yeah, it's been for... He's been... He's through an awful, horrible past to Amar Rashad, which is real late Bobby Moore. But he turned his name to Amar Rashad because he turned him to look and Amar Rashad cut one head like Sammy Wighten against the Cleveland Browse and Brian Sight. Now, I'm meeting myself. Great memory. Great memory. Yeah, so Tommy Kramer showed up was very kind. The great smear was beautiful. I mean, yeah, actually remember him right off the bat. I knew it was there. I mean, he was... It was better for not that moment in my life. It was wonderful. It was really, really great. All right. Tony from Jersey writes, and he says,

Ben, what could possibly go wrong with New York adding a scoreboard clock to going to the powder room, as you say? And let me explain this to you, James, because I don't think you know the story. So New York is rolling out futuristic public robo toilets that give users exactly 10 minutes to finish their poopy before the door automatically opens. So that means that you could be sitting on the toilet. You got a hemorrhoids and you're sitting on the toilet and you got to do a do-do. And it's more than 10 minutes. You're going to show the whole world that when that door opens, anybody that walks by is going to see your ass on the toilet. So yeah, Tony, this is going to be epically terrible. I know why they're doing it, because I think homeless people are going to go in there and like, you know, go making whoopie, you know, go bow chick a while, while in the bathroom. So they're trying to avoid that, but you can still get that done in 10 minutes.

Or you know, I guess you can set the timer if you're going into the bathroom to have some fun. Nine minutes, you just got to get it done in nine minutes. But yeah, that's, that seems like a really bad idea. That seems like a terrible idea. And how long do you take, James? This is a great question. This is the kind of content people want on the fifth hour podcast. And the mailbag here on this Sunday. So James, what kind, how long do you take? How long do you take on the commode? Very important question, James. But how lucky, Tony, I'm going to know. I go quickly and fast, because I usually have a loop to hold you to the ball moment, or a pass is too quickly. I'm a 30s and a half, and I 30s and a half in the morning. Uh, ha ha ha ha. Go and get your doggy. Oh, yeah. Oh, man. You can't sit there swim. You drowns. I love the fact that we are now breaking down the bowel movements of hollering, James. The fifth hour podcast has now reached a new low. My God, uh, that is, uh, outstanding.

I'm jealous, James. You take so many, so many pills and all that that you're able to go to the bathroom and have no problem. I have, I occasionally have the constipation. Uh, you know, I, I do a, uh, I actually do do fruit smoothies. Doc Mike recommended that. I don't do it. I don't add his special ingredient, but there's certain things I have to do to try to get the, uh, the old intestinal track moving, James, but it sounds like you just go in there and, uh, it, like you always have monosumas revenge. You're always in, always in good shape, always in good shape. Uh, what else do we have? Let's see here. Ryan in Shrewsbury writes and he says, Ben and special guest, I have been pretty busy with the new norm of life since my father-in-law passed. But I have been keeping up with all the pods and, of course, the best of version of the overnight show. Recently I was driving around in our new favorite town, Worcester. Yeah, Worcester's a cool town. I like it. A lot of trees and, you know, it's got a little downtown trees, nice little ballpark. I jam it, man.

I, I, I, I like the vibe there. It's, it's pretty cool. Anyway, uh, he says I saw that they opened a raising canes there. Uh, that is the second one I found in my area. But now I've been there once for food, but if I were to go again, what is the Benny's special? What's your go to order? Uh, thanks again. Much love, Ryan. I did not see the raising canes. I don't remember seeing it when I was driving around Worcester, but I remember when I went back that Sunday to throw out the first pitch with the leprechaun. Uh, they had a burger king. I parked right near a burger king and right across the street from the polar park. I believe it's called the Wu Sox stadium. So I, I remember that. But my go to order, Ryan is I go caniac combo. That's the biggest combo you can get. Caniac combo, no coleslaw extra fries substitute. Get rid of the coleslaw. I don't want any vegetables. I want extra fries. And then sometimes I'll get the Texas toast.

I'll get that cooked on both sides. You can get it cooked on both sides. So that's my, my word, I get lemonade. I upcharred. They upcharred you for lemonade. Right. I get lemonade and that's all I need. You ever been raising canes, hollering James racing. Canes, don't you? And I've been to maybe a little cocaine. Really? Yeah. Have you done the cocaine in the past? Let's talk about that, James. I didn't expect that to pop up either. You a big guy, coke guy back in the 80s, James. Then I'd be coca, that's sugar cane. Well, is it, is it true hollering James that your nickname back in college was Colombian bam, bam. Was that your nickname? Is that, is that true? No. I don't think so. I don't remember that in my repertoire. No. All right. You've heard I don't know, man. You know, you got me on the front just to what that was for the next one. All right. I like that. Look at you. All right. James, you know, you are so great. We've heard about your bowel movements, your cocaine issue.

This is, this is wild to me. You know, your nickname should be cocaine bear. That should be your nickname. Remember they had shark NATO, they had meth gator and cocaine bear. They should. Yeah. Dead all that back in the day. And Colombian bam, bam. That could be your, that could be your new nickname. And Johnny Cash, Johnny Cash saying a song cocaine blues. Back to the day. He did. Hey, all right. It's almost here. Are you ready? Just grabbing my shoes. That's what you said 10 minutes ago. I just wrapped the video call, uploading this giant file on my tablet, looking at my watch group and Nana's with the group chat. And of course, still lining up tonight's playlist on my phone. We've learned over and over on our show while talking to people and entertainment that success comes when you bet on yourself. Find a bill from South Carolina right since as Ben, the doom and gloom whether people are saying that the Atlantic hurricane season could break a record that has stood for 175 years. Do you believe it, Ben? And should I be worried? It's from Bill in South Carolina. Well, no, you shouldn't be worried because according to the story, not a single hurricane has formed in the Atlantic basin yet this year. How about that? Yeah. Wow. The latest Atlantic hurricane on record formed on September 17, 1941.

That was back on on Thursday. That record goes back to 1851 when early meteorologists relied on shipping vessels for storm reports. And as of now, not a single hurricane is formed in the Atlantic basin this year. Yeah. Okay. So I guess you was right. Was that the same hurricane? I jumped out the elephant's arrow. Yes. Sure. Why not? We've actually had hurricanes in the Pacific. So where's all the global warming people freaking out and losing their mind? I guess it's not that bad. If you global warming, you, you people, I say called El Nino is the term El Nino. We said we call it named El Nino and the Atlantic. Roberto's driving a bus right now. So he's done. He left us. We're going to drive with the bus and the blue wheels and the bus. Go round and round all the stuff. I like that, James. Look at you. You're such a character. You're all right.

Very funny bill with that question. Yeah. I think you're in good shape. There are Benny and no penny. This is from Steve in St. Paul. I mean, this is Steve in St. Paul James. That's right over near you. He says, Ben, I love your work. Have you ever worked with anyone who had really bad B.O. That's from Steve in St. Paul. He sent me this story, James. A New York City tech worker was fired because they had poor hygiene. I'm about that. They say they had B.O. Body order. They lost their job. And this guy in Manhattan, he confessed that he was fired from a corporate gig after just a couple of hours because his boss has cited hygiene issues. At that, the guy said after nine months of unemployment, he found the position through a temp agency and says he showered the night before his job again wore a brand new polo shirt when he showed up at the AI tech company

where he was hired to work in people ops. And after the first two hours, nothing really happened there. It was light onboarding, as they say. He was told to take an early lunch and before he was even even made it to lunch out of the building, he received a call from the temp agency and notifying him that he was being let go for hygiene issues about that. James. Yeah, it's crazy, right? Hygiene. You showered right occasionally. Yes. What's in a while? You shower. You're wearing a half the shower every day, even a baby shower. I am shocked. And we've been together on this mailbag for over 30 minutes and you have not fallen asleep at all. I am very impressed. Nate from Alaska writes and he says Ben and friend he says, he says Robbie the mayor and her family, but not we gave Robbie the weekend off. He says Ben, I thought I was the only one listening to you here in Alaska.

I moved here several years ago for work and I enjoy your show while having some drinks at night. And I heard on newbie night a couple of callers from my state. Would you ever do a meet and greet here in Alaska? It would be great. We have a lot of hardworking people. And my friend owns a rustic pub in Anchorage and would be more than happy to host the Malar militia at an event. We have no, well, Nate, I would love to go to Alaska. Who wouldn't want to be beautiful? I would love to go there. I've never been my brother. Both my brothers have been there. Coops been there. I've not been able to make it. I don't have any plans. These things are expensive as I like to say. And if somebody wants to help us out a little bit, cover some of the travel. I'd be more than happy to go to Alaska. But other than that, I will do meet and greets when my travels take me to a city. And that's just the way it is. Unless there's a special emergency like hollering James had to go meet hollering James and Dick and Dayton and all the legends on the show.

All right. What's up next? Carl from the OC writes in that orange county. He says, Benny and whoever, do you silence your phone? The phone, apparently there's a, there was a study done that says the people, the assumption is people that silence their phone, put it in like silent mode. If you mute, mute your phone, you're, you're often assumed to be deliberately protecting your focus and that that's important. You're, you're a harder worker. You don't want to be distracted. Well, according to a study, they found the opposite behavior pattern, according to Carl. They said, and Carl, I do usually have my phone on, I don't even know what mode it is. I get to look at my phone and I don't have it right in front of me. I'm in the remote studio, but I have it on the thing where it's like focus. I think it is called focus. And I don't know how to turn it off. Focus. Like there are calls that I get. I don't get the calls. I miss the calls because it's on the focus thing.

I don't even know. I'm, I got to figure that I can't be that hard. I'll just, I'll just Google it. Here's the catch here, James. They say the, the people that have their phone on silent mode. And that means, you know, hey, that's it. Those that silence their phones, check their phones nearly twice as much as those that left their phone on vibrate 98.2 times a day versus 52.9 times a day. And it's most common for people that have high FOMO. You know what FOMO is, James? I'm a phobia. Oh, James, you are such a treasure. You are such a, oh my god. Yes, FOMO. I don't know where. Let's see the matter fear of missing out. Anyway, the people that have sort of missing out, check their phones.

120 times a day. All right. Next up is Stan. He says, I'm the man from Ohio and Ben. I wanted to ask this on your radio show, but I know you don't have as much time as the podcast. Will the word police end up needing therapy, Ben? As there was a study done. Here's another thing about words. People know I love words, James. And so Stan sends me this story. There was a study done by McEwen University and Stetson University. They recruited 616 US adults. And they tested 175 pairs of terms, one labeled potentially harmful and one recommended replacement. The examples included master bedroom, which has been canceled by the wokesters. Now you're supposed to say primary bedroom. Pipeline, I didn't know this one. I did not know pipeline got. Cancel. I don't I'm maybe I talked about it. I don't remember.

But apparently pipeline was replaced by pathway blind review is now anonymous review. tone deaf is unenlightened. I didn't know about that either. Participants rated the words according to Stan here. They rated the words for familiarity, acceptability and how much anxiety they produced. And the study determined that most of the terms that were considered highly acceptable. Right. They were considered highly acceptable and several were preferred to the their proposed replacements, meaning the flag terms, the terms that were person on and on. Gratta. Among the original participants, they preferred terms like pregnant woman rather than birthing person. Whoever says birthing person needs to be slapped across the face. If you say that, my God, get a life. They the people said they liked breastfeeding over chest feeding. So there's that and Hispanic over Latin X. They like that. Of course.

And I got to give credit James to my Latin brothers and sisters. Okay. From different mothers because they tried to get rid of speedy Gonzalez years ago when they were getting rid of everything and they said, no, we like speedy Gonzalez. Don't get rid of speeding itself. And that whole Latin X thing, that's a nightmare. They're like, no, and I love it. I love that they're pushing back against the the knuckleheads that have been given a microphone. And yeah, I mean, I still use, I don't really have a context to use breastfeeding. I guess I do say it occasionally, master bedroom. Yeah. I say that. I get blind review. I don't really use blind review. But if I did, I wouldn't have a problem with it. My God. All right. James, we'll do one more. This is Wayne from Duluth. Wayne from Duluth. Right. So you ever been Duluth? I'm not so enough. I'm so thankful to my regular ones. That is. That's north of you there. Lake Superior. Right up there. Wayne from Duluth says, band, did you see that the J there was a J low look alike

who became a viral sensation on the internet, a woman from Minnesota. Do you think she'll become famous like the hawk tour girl? All right. So James, you don't know about this story, but there was a 30. I think I'm sorry. Only if you try to have a million, but really remember really that's back in the day to update myself. Yeah. Well, that we're not doing so. Only sometimes. Fun fun. That fun fact, James, the I was doing local radio and LA when the millie Vanille controversy happened. And the one of the members of millie Vanille became a DJ at kiss FM. And I saw him in the hallways all like one of the guys unfortunately took their own life. But the other guy, the other guy was a DJ and it was like a publicity stunt. And I saw him in the hall and I just I we all laugh were like, Oh my God, this guy was like a big star. It was all fake. It's wow. Anyway, so this woman's 35 years old and she was recently arrested for stealing

power tool batteries at a store in Monticello, Minnesota. I have no idea where that is. You ever been to Monticello, Minnesota? I've heard of it. Yeah. You have. Okay. Anyway, the book, the booking photo went online and has a stunning resemblance to JLo. People thought it was JLo being arrested for stealing $580 worth of batteries. Pretty, pretty wild there. And she's going to jail for me and a personator, a female and personality. No, no, she went to jail for some while for stealing batteries. She has two two two double packs of power tools and and all that. She admitted to take the opportunity. I enjoyed it. All right. Well, I'm glad you're enjoying it, James. I love you show so much. You said the look really is on the podcast. I said they wanted to say that. Yeah. Well, that's when it airs on Sunday. Well, James, thank you so much, hollering James.

You're the man. And you can tell us that baby, what was it? Why don't you go? Yeah, James, can you remember? I'm not done yet, James. You have to end properly. What did you use to say? You used to do a little prayer there. Remember on the on the show? Remember you talked about the church? What did you used to say on the show? Remember? Oh, wow. You're getting by by. You really go back in time. I know. All right. Well, it's fine. You don't remember. It's it's all. And you helped that one. It's all helped. Yeah. You didn't know what I want. I want to know what you think. The the the fathers at the church in Minnesota, you know, you gave a little thing, a little speech there. Yeah. The fathers and the son had a holy priest said, had their own grill and they worked my time with the life. Some of them James was, but I'm not even leading on to that. I'm just happy being on your show, man. Anyway, I can't. All right. Well, we love all right. The great father James. All right. Shut up, respect. So I will be on all week starting tonight here Sunday night
