Please reach out at SanteCenter.com. All right. Our look around college football continues. The Texas Longhorns are up on the list. We've done the three top 10 teams this week that emanate locally with Texas A&M and Oklahoma and now Texas. Davey and I will tackle SMU tomorrow's. They got a huge game against Florida State on Monday. And also take a look at the Bizarro North Texas straight up Central Expressway to Stillwater, saga that's going on between them and Oklahoma State. And the things that people are saying about Oklahoma State too. And Drew Mestemaker.

Have you seen the Drew Mestemaker 1-1 stuff? Yeah. Definitely first round. Have you seen 1-1? Oh, yeah. I've read it. It's crazy. The meteor cries of that kid. So Texas though, a year ago, they were preseason number one is probably most people remember and and they came out of the shoot. And it was a really, really weird first seven games, I would say. Punctuated by the fact that they beat Oklahoma and the cotton bowl though. When they were a heavy, heavy underdog and then came those really, really strange games against Kentucky and Mississippi State in which you were a heavy favorite should have lost both those games. They both come to overtime and you end up winning. And then you get stomped by Georgia in November and you end up missing the playoff. And really it's it was a point. It wasn't Ohio State. It was losing to Florida.

And that kind of buried them and then yes, the Georgia game kind of buried him, but they finished strong. You know, they beat A&M at home Thanksgiving week and then had a nice one against Michigan in whatever that cheese bowl citrus bowl. Yeah, citrus, I think. Yeah. And so, you know, expectation wise, you didn't meet it last year, but here you are next year, the next year and you've got a lot of the same folks that are doing, doing business and you brought in people that are pretty spectacular and Cam Coleman's at the very top of the list. And you know, you can say a lot about Texas receivers here and Texas receivers there over the last 25 years since, since Texas became a passing offense. Um, Cam Coleman, maybe one, a one of one, I don't know that, but he sure looks the part.

They've had a lot of really good receivers on that team. Cam Coleman may be the ultimate difference maker and he hasn't really been able to shine because he's been at Auburn and they haven't had a very good offense and they've had no quarterbacks, but he's obviously been the focal point there and he will be here too, but he's also got some great complimentary players there around him to where it's not going to be the Cam Coleman show. A lot like with Jeremiah Smith, they've got a thousand guys out there that can say that they can score touchdowns from any position and Texas has that too. Yeah. I mean, honestly, when I was doing a lot of this arch stuff, I kept coming back to how impressive Ryan Wingo was for me. He's really good. And so, you know, even better this year, I think I say if he drops down to like your two, that is, that is tough. It's head east off. They're going to be really good on the outside and they went to the portal and got a couple of running backs in Hollywood smothers and Relic Brown from Arizona state who both very,

very, very explosive guys that have bounced all over the place, but that's just the nature of the beast now. Now they get to spend their final year and down in Austin. So offensively, they're loaded. Well, that, I mean, honestly, though, that it does come back to offensive line and running the ball when you want to run the ball. It's not quite Oklahoma level, but it's very similar in that they had, well, I mean, honestly, they had better production running, but the better production might be arch as far as a traditional running back run game. It was kind of do do for most of the year. Well, you know what's really weird is that two of the, their three hardest games were a and M and Oklahoma and those were those. They ran better with why isn't her just had games against defenses that hadn't allowed anything on the ground. And so yeah, it was really, really strange that it all kind of popped up in two of their biggest rivalry games too. Obviously.

And then guard center impressive. Yeah. Guard was just not good enough last year on, on any level and it messed up protection. It messed up the run game. And honestly, if you were to look at Sark teams over these years, he just, there, he runs a beautiful offense. The scheme is so good. And I mean so good, even by NFL standards, but he can never get an offensive line to perform at the level he needs, which as you might be aware is a big part of running an offensive scheme. Yeah, it is, it's weird. It's really weird. You can have all the great route, route combinations you want, Corby, but if you can't protect, what is it worth? So the schedule this year, of course, is incredibly difficult. They've caught some big breaks in their first two years in the SEC scheduling wise. And this year they don't. That's just kind of simple to say that Ohio State, of course, next weekend. You go to Tennessee the week before you go to OU, which is, it's funny because Oklahoma

and Texas both have OU in Austin. No, they have OU in Dallas. Oh, yeah. Dirk. Dave. Oh, Dave. Sorry. Don't that. But yeah, so OU has to go to Georgia the week before Texas and Texas goes to Tennessee. Now they both get a week off in betwixed, but it's still you're trying not to look ahead and you better not look ahead and I doubt either one will be looking ahead. You just, you don't have that luxury. And Tennessee can be a problem. Oh, it'll be. Yeah, they're lucky. And they're lucky. It's not a night game too. It's already scheduled for 11 a.m. Um, Ole Miss at home, Missouri on the road, LSU on the road and then A&M on the road. So three of their final four games on the road against ranked teams right now, who knows where it ends up in November. But it's a really tough way to close and now it is what it is. That's just kind of the nature of the beast here for, for the SEC, but.

Well, they get their revenge on Florida. I would, yes. I would think so. I would think that that game is, is circled mightily because it, it, it completely derailed their season. Kind of like we said with, with Marcel Reed and A&M and John Materato, you, I think everything is going to be dependent on how good archmaning is and how elite can he be. Um, I think he's going to be great. If he can be elite and if he can be, then the sky's the limit for him. You know, they're definitely a top four top five team. And then it just depends on the matchup, the, the week, the injuries and everything else that you know about. Yeah, he's, he's really taken some strides, but this, this year you got to hit the ground running. Last year was a total post October first season kind of in many respects, but it's, um, I think you'd be really disappointed with all the hype that surrounded him coming in. I'm not saying you got to win a national championship, but I do think that the bar is

probably a semi final game at this point. I agree. I'm really, you got to look at it that way. And that's, you know, again, I think it's completely unfair, but it comes with the dinner with guys like that that are that hyped up and guys that really struggled with all the hype surrounding him the year before. You know, I know he closed really well, but it was a really rough stretch that he had and he just looked like that he didn't even belong in college football and, you know, there were, there were quarterback rankings within the conference that had him at 14th, you know, midway through the year. He just was terrible. And so Sark, I've heard also people say that Sark's legacy is going to be defined by how good archmaning is under center. And I don't know if that's the case, but I do think that it's pretty incumbent upon him with the talent that he has, especially if arch is one one and they got to make it look like a one one. The consensus board right now has four of the top eight are long horns. Yeah. And so the every other, every other program in college football has four in the top eight.

Texas has four in the top eight. That's a year that says you've got to make a semi final and the timing of quiet, quite koski out and, uh, uh, uh, uh, we'll must champ in. I don't know about that, man. Well, they do. They think it's, it's the higher of all hires, they think they got their guy and we will just seem so retready, you know, and, and as a DC, yeah. I mean, it just seems like Will must champ has been in our orbit for 28 years, you know, and, and, and, this is a ups and downs of, of, of, what's better course, better than head coach. No, no, no, I, I tend to agree with that. But I mean, look, you got to, you got to do it. And I thought they were happy with old Pete. I thought that everything was hunky dory there. I never thought that the, the defense was any issue whatsoever. And I thought all of that was really weird. Yeah. The defense has been pretty good for them from a Texas stamp. On a regular basis, like, again, this is a, this Texas team, it's, it's a three year

run now. But remember before the three year run, they were bad for 15 years. And so suddenly it's just like, oh, well, that's not good enough. I'm like, okay. I will see. Well, Colin Simmons is an absolute stud. And if he can have a big year, Texas can go a long ways. It's really tough to run against them, a little easier to pass against them, but we'll see what must champ does on the back end. They've got some guys to replace. But yeah, I think, I think Texas is a problem for just about everybody they're going to see. The so how state game, I think you have to look at it as a game. Texas has to get because their last hurdle is what do you do against top five teams? Specifically, winless against Ohio State, winless against Georgia under Sark, oh and five. And unfortunately, because that's an unfair bar, unfortunately, that's the standard.

Those are the teams that win national titles. You're going to play them. You want to win national titles. You can't go on six. And then so that's that's kind of where yes, you can beat Oklahoma. Yes, you can beat Texas A&M. It is not the standard when you're investing that much and when you put the bar that high. So it's just it's a different ball game. And if Sark wants to feel the heat, then lose. If they miss the playoffs, lose three games this year. If they missed the playoffs, then talk happened. Although you could probably lose three and still get into playoffs if you're Texas. Do you think arch is on the podium when it comes to Heisman time? That's a tough one. I know he's probably top three favorites. I think CJ car is a walk in Heisman finalist because the top three are really good in the schedule. Our CJ car arch and don't say more. Yeah, I think both those guys are going to be there. Don't say more to I'm more interested. Can arch be one one and and I think it's his to lose because dude, but you could go nine

in three and not make the playoffs and still be one one. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He could lose. He could go six and six and still be one one. Yeah, right. Because we're going to be watching arch for the next 10 or 12 years. Hey, y'all. It's Charlie Star from Blackberry Smoke. Y'all know our fans are like family to us and family watches out for each other, especially when we're out riding. So before you or your crew get on your motorcycles, make sure you're good to ride. Even one drink could be too many. Don't let a good ride in the wrong way. This little mini channel. It ain't nothing new. Ride sober or get pulled over. Did you know that driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal? Driving high will get you a DUI. And if you're wondering if law enforcement can tell you're driving high, well, everyone else can. Friends, I can tell you drove high. Parents. I can tell when you drive high. Relatives. You can tell. You drove here high didn't you?

So what makes you think law enforcement can't? I can tell. If you feel different, you drive different. Drive high, get a DUI. Paid forward by Nizza. Hey, it's Andreath here.
