It's got to be in there somewhere. A bit for a second. Yeah. But today, we try to induct someone of a large S nature, a star of stage and screen, both big and small. And that would be the great Tim Curry.

1:01You got info, Dave? Yes, and Tim Curry is poised to join Room 609, which is currently occupied by Tommy John and Dolly Parton. Yeah. So anybody that gets 33-year-old Dolly Parton in a room? And think about that, too. Is he interested, though? Oh, you know what? I believe that you're correct. That he never came clean on anything, which means he's gay. Yeah, he never married, never had children... And never talked about... ...to never talked about his sexuality, which any star is a trans person and Rocky Horror. Yeah. He's got to... Okay, so Tim Curry, back in the... He's also in hair. Yeah, he did hair. Yeah. Yeah. Back in the day when all these rockest stage productions were really... I'm not saying they were taking over America, but they were really part of the pop culture way more so than today. And hair was one of them.

2:01But the Rocky Horror picture show, of course, was another one that I still have never really seen. No, me neither. I'm aware of it. And it was really one of those things that was bigger for the people about five years older, I think, than we were. Yeah. I mean, I have friends in high school and college that would go, but I never did. Yeah. And he was the star of the Rocky Horror picture show. He was a star in London, then on Broadway, then in LA, and then on the silver screen. Yes. And he played Dr. Frank in... ...furter. Frank-in-furter. Which was noted as being the, quote, sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania. And apparently... Back when... He freaking killed it. Yeah. Back when that was not a trigger. Back when that was just good, clean fun. Yeah. Yes. So that kind of launched his career, and then in 1982, he's a Brit, of course, they all are.

3:07And in 1982, he was one of the guys that was cast as in the movie Annie. Now, when we were little kids, when I was a little kid and Dave was even a little kid, Annie was another one that was such a huge deal on Broadway. I had two younger sisters, and they probably watched that movie five thousand times. Yeah. And Tim Curry got cast as this weirdo that was trying to abduct Annie or kidnapper. I can't remember the exact story of it, but he was definitely the villain, and he was great. And I saw the movie not knowing anything about him, and certainly not knowing I'd heard a Rocky Horror picture show, because it was just, again, part of pop culture back then. I didn't know who he was, but I knew that he was really creepy, and I didn't like him very much. He was kind of scary almost as when we were, when we were kids.

4:08Because he does have such a striking angular face that makes him memorable, but also is appropriate for all of the weird off center characters that he played. Yeah. Rooster Hanigan was his name and Annie, and he had this really creepy mustache. You have a sister? I think so. Yeah. Yeah. And then a couple of years later, he was cast in Clue. And at the time, Clue was, if it wasn't the biggest board game going, it was right there, and they decided to somehow concoct a movie out of the board game. And again, I thought as a whatever middle schooler, I thought this thing was freaking hilarious and so well done. Did you see this at the theater by chance? No, no, and that's another one that I've never really watched all the way through. Are you serious? Yeah, I probably need to spend some time with it. I think it holds up. We saw it with the kids not too terribly long ago.

5:09It's funny. Like it's really genuinely funny, and he plays the butler, Wad's worth, and he steals the movie. Like he's... He is the movie. He is the movie. You're right. He is the movie. Super funny, and here's a little montage of him and Clue. I'm merely a humble butler. What exactly do you do? I battle, sir. Three murders. Six, all together. This is getting serious. You were once a professor of psychiatry, specializing in helping paranoid and homicidal lunatics suffering from delusions of grandeur. Yes, but now I work for the United Nations. Your work has not changed. That sounds like a confession to me. In fact, the double negatives led to prove positive I'm afraid you gave yourself away. Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests? I don't need any help from me, sir. That's right. Where is it? The phone. What party? There's nobody. There's nobody in the study. No, I know. No, I know. But I think there's a phone in the lounge. You may use the one in the... No. You could use the one in the... No. Oh, would you be kind enough to wait in the...

6:10In the library. The game's up, Scarlet. There are no more bullets left in that gun. Come on, you know, I think I'm not far from that old trick. It's not a trick. There was one shot at Mr. Body in the study. Two for the Shondir Lear, two at the lounge door, and one for the singing telegram. That's one, six. One plus two plus two plus one. Uh-uh. There was only one shot they got the Shondir Lear. That's one plus two plus one plus one. Even if you were right, that would be one plus one plus two plus one. Not one plus two plus one plus one. Okay, fine. One plus two plus one. Shut up! There was so much who's on first comedy that was going on in the movie. It's really quick dialogue. And the cast was really funny. Martin Ball, the great Martin Ball is in it. Steeles it too. Like it's, I love that movie. And maybe it's just a soft spot in my heart. But yeah, he was, uh, he was great in that all sorts of critical acclaim. Then he goes to TV as they tried to adapt the Stephen King movie it into a TV show. And you talk about a turn. This guy always has been super like in these comedies, even Rocky Horror picture.

7:14It was just a send up, but it was funny. Um, all these comedies and all these eccentric characters. Then he plays Pennywise in it. And I didn't see this because that was not my jam back when it came out in like 1990. I've seen the updated movie versions of it. Yeah. But I didn't see this, but they cast him as Pennywise. I didn't see going to say hello. Oh, come on. Oh, come on. Don't you want to lose? I'm not supposed to take stuff as strangers. I'm a dad sent some. Very wise, I'm your dad, George. Very wise indeed. I, George, am Pennywise, the dancing plow. You are George. So now we know each other. He, right? Hi, yes, so.

8:14I gotta go. Go. Without this. Oh, my God. Hey, exactly. Go on, kiddo. Take it. Oh. You want it, don't you, George? Oh, what you do. And it can be a prize of all sorts of surprises down here. And balloons too. Did it slow? Oh, yeah. They slow. They slow. They slow. It's almost worth a word. It's so creepy. You slow. So that's the very beginning of the it reboot. I guess that's the very beginning of the TV series too. That was that 1990 that traumatized an entire generation of people.

9:16Because on TV, right? Yeah, and moms and dads are like, oh, it's just a clown. And then they realize it's not just a clown. Yeah, the 80s and 90s soundtrack doesn't help it. No, but it's interesting how, and I don't know what Stephen King envisioned when he was writing it for Pennywise. But Tim Curry made it such his own to the point that now in the reboot, it's basically a cover version of his. So tons of stuff. The great Tim Curry. Lando, we will start with you. Is he in? Yes. Killa? Definitely. J King? Yes. Of course. Yeah, he's in. So have fun. You know, even if you just kind of knock him around a little bit. I mean, I'm sure that he will admire them. Yeah. Or what if he and Tommy John form a relationship of forbidden love?

10:17Like their own heated rivalry? Yes. Like he was always in the baseball, but we really never knew it. Maybe Dolly's a little kinky and we just didn't know about it. Maybe she is.
