1:02Yes you. I'm going way back to the middle school days. And it's just nice to know that we're still in touch. We're still friends. We're still seeing our kids grow up. And we have moments like this that we show it, you know, cherish their thick and thin. And you know, this is a really, really good friend. I appreciate everything and all our friendship and just knowing that, you know, we're in our 40s. Forever and more. Happy 40th birthday baby. We're still at 30th. And it was still back in the day. Yeah. Back in the bathroom. It's just, I know. And this is awesome. They have my friends here and you know, we sit around by all the love and the true friendships. And knowing that we're still here, still in touch, but I really, easy to have a friend. And to have those people friends here means a lot to me to be honest. I'm on the 2.9 FM Boston's local community visa station. The best station in the whole world. My guest today is Michelle Gettings. How much show? Good to see you on the show today. Hi. How are you? I'm so honored that you wanted to interview me. Who will be the contestant? Let me know what's on your mind. OK. Yes, definitely. Well, basically, I'm sorry. And the MC here is video-sluder to grid.

8:12And you can't ask. I was like, well, this is one of our dance. So how long should the photos start? And it's in the same way as a dance. Yes. Say that again. I was asked how you got started in the... How you got started as a dancer in the entertainment field. Oh, how did I get started? Oh, OK. So right out of high school, I went to my first concert and it was a concert with MC Hammer, I think Mary J. Blasch. And there was a couple of other artists that was performing. And one of my best friends at the time, her auntie was our escort for the concert because we were underage. And after the concert, we met everybody. But we didn't get to meet Hammer. I really wasn't so...

9:13I wasn't that aware of who he was. But so anyway, as we were walking, leaving the concert, the guy who did his t-shirts was interested in my friend's auntie. So they got a cat in contact. And then when Hammer was looking for girls, he asked if we could come and audition. And that's how we... Well, she went... Of course, she went ahead of time to secure her spot. And then once she knew that they wanted more people, then she was like, hey, Michelle, you want to come in audition? So... And so that day, I went there and Hammer was like, hey, you got anything to try on. I was like, OK, yes, so I threw on. I picked up the routine so quick, quicker than anybody else. And so he was like, would you move down?

10:14I mean, can you come and work with me right away? I was like, OK, let me just let everybody know. And still, at that time, I didn't really know who he was. But I just knew I loved to dance. So... Hmm. Wow. That's all I've heard of here. So what was like to work with him? Was he very nice to you? I had his... Oh, yeah. You know what? He was definitely a pleasure to work with. He... The way he had his crew set up, we worked out every day. We ran six miles a day. We rehearsed all night long. There wasn't that because that was our job. That's what we did. So it was... I was in the best shape of my life. I was in the best shape mentally, physically, everything. Because he just had us doing the things we needed to do.

11:16And we ate good. You know, we didn't eat red meat. So he really had a tight camp. And... Yeah, he was definitely a pleasure to work with. OK, that's all for me. Well, that's wonderful. Yeah. So what are the projects... What are the videos I've been dancing before? I mean, dancing, you know, besides us being here, my voice. Have you ever danced with any other artists like Altair? Well, I did. I danced for this group at the time. After I left the group, Hammers, I went to LA. But in between that time, I met this girl group. It was a rapid singer called Shugandat. And Shug is truth hurts from, you know, was she was science and doctor Dre. So it was myself and one of my really good friends, Shannon. And we were to go on tour with them after that one, because that was round the time.

12:16Hammers was dealing with what he was dealing with financially. So... But my best friend ended up having to get her leg... Yeah, surgery or something like that. So I went on this college tour with them. It was just a rapper, singer and a dancer. So that... Because I felt like when I was dancing with Hammers, he was the ultimate. If I couldn't dance for Michael Jackson or Janet, then I was done. I really wanted to go into film and television. So... And since I didn't... I was kind of over it once I got to LA, because I saw a different side of it. And I... You know, I did a few little videos with Snoop and a couple of other people. But I kept getting into commercials and acting and working behind the scenes. And that started to become my love and my passion.

13:17Oh, that's wonderful. Yeah. So what's all the budget... So what's all the budget shows and movies have you paid in so far? Well, I don't know if you're familiar with the proud family. The proud family was the first African-American series on Disney Channel. And a lot of people didn't know that. So... And they're doing a reboot. But I worked with that production company for... Probably about four or five years. And while working as a recording coordinator, I would pitch myself to do voiceovers. Because, you know, I was like, I see the scripts, I see the characters. I wasn't a main character, but I was an incidental character. So I was able to do... You know, I was able to massage my vocal cords and acting at the same time. So that was really a fun time.

14:18And then I associate produced a Bollywood film. Kind of I worked as an associate producer slash some other producing. And I brought a lot of people into that. And that was a genre that I wasn't familiar with, but I was so grateful that I was able to be a part of that. I did a line producing for an independent film with... We tried to do it as a feature and then broke it up into a series. And Carl Payne was one of the main actors on that. Right before he got the big role with Tyler Perry. So... And let's see what other films. A lot of stuff that I did, like a Disney commercial, like I did actually act in these commercials.

15:19And I'm sure you found me on my little documentary on YouTube, which I did in film school. It was like 11 minutes. I didn't even think nothing of it. I just put it up there to see if anybody would be interested. And so hopefully I can make it into a longer story. Because people keep asking, we want more, we want more. So hopefully I can. Yeah, that sounds wonderful. Because I can say you were one of one on the plot. I knew some Washington's team. I knew Tom Dixon, Colorado for that. Joe Joe, for the family man. That was among a lot of that cartoon. I hope they met big, big thing about you. Because I love that. Yeah, that's the... Yeah. Say that one more time. I love that. I'm sure a lot of family else know it's one of them are sure you are. You know, you don't call it a threat. Tell me David's one.

16:21Sugar Mama, I love that one. Oh, yeah, that's an outfit. Yeah. It was such a great experience and edg, I'm not sure if you know, but is it getting too loud? Oh, no, it's fine. I can hear you. The one thing about working on animation or in animation, it's a longer process than film and television. And you work for a long time. Basically, you work for like a couple of years, whereas live action may only be a few months, depending on the project, or it could be a lot longer if the budget is bigger. But with animation, you're talking about two or three years. That's how it worked. Even when I was touring with Hammer, we would be on tour nonstop for the whole year, two years at a time, and really missed a lot of different holidays. But I was used to that. The short thing I'm not giving in there a long time so that, you know,

17:25I can keep working my creative juices. Oh, wow. I see. Wow. So are you looking at, so I, I, I, I, I, are you looking on any of the vongers coming up this year? Like, like, album? What's the view? So come on this year? Well, currently, I am voicing or narrating a full length book, which is huge, just like 700 pages. So I'm at the finish line getting it done. I wish I can say what it is, but I should be done like in a, maybe about a week or so, and then I can move on to the next thing. I have, I've been getting offers. I just got an, you know, kind of interview for possible feature, hopefully, fingers crossed as a line producer. So it's so gratifying. And I'm so grateful that people still think

18:26that they're going to be able to, to ask me to come and, you know, be a part of their project or be a part of whatever they're doing because I'm that type of person that reached back to people or help others when I'm in a project or doing a project or working a project or something. You know, I'm all about helping one another. So it just feeds my soul when somebody, you know, you have a conversation with me like yourself. Absolutely. Because I'm so good at having to talk to me to talk to you face to face now. Yeah. So, do you still, do you still dance with her at the time? I do, it's so funny. I do love to dance and I still dance. I may not do it on the scale of touring in the front of people, but I do it at my home. I love that game just dance. So I try to keep my win going.

19:27So I'm any chance I get to just show some dance skills I will do. You know, I remember this time when my child was real young. And I said to her that, you know, your mom used to dance. She totally didn't believe me, right? So in California, during the Halloween season, they had this thing called boo in the zoo, right? And then the radio station comes there and they're playing all this music and pumping up everything. And so they get the parents up there and they're like, hey, we're going to teach you a routine and we're going to have you dance. Whoever dances the best, you win the contest, right? So I was like, this time I'm going to jump into the contest because my child totally didn't believe me. So, you know, I learned the routine. I was acting as though I'm not, you know, coordinated. Then all of a sudden,

20:28I was blessed to move my style was like looking up at me on stage with her mouth like, oh my gosh. This my mom. So it's so funny. Because she totally didn't believe me. Even after me showing her videos and stuff, she totally didn't believe me. But so I had to show her a little bit. And when they announced that I was the winner, she come running with an open mouth. Oh my gosh. So it was a very cute moment. But yeah, I still love the dance. Me too. That's one of them here, you know, definitely. So what? You like the dance? I love the dance. I love the dance. Yeah, I'm like, you know, I'm not good, but I love to try and dance, you know, and sing it all. Yeah, I do. Oh, that's good. That's good. Yeah. So you were you were into Hammer back then. Yeah. Yeah. So I actually saw him on the concert. My cousin saw him on the concert. Boss, he was a great, he keep people on a great show, you know. I wish I could have met him myself. And I was like, wow, that's the man, you know, you know.

21:28What year was that? I think it was when two of the two of you came out. Okay. So you saw me. You saw me a little yellow out there doing it. Yeah, I was there during that time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You did trust me. You did. I was there during that time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So it's too much. Too much. I couldn't imagine any of them. You know, but don't want to meet you in the end. At the same time, you know. Yes. Yes. Yes. For sure. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to be here. I'm going to be here. I'm going to be here. I'm going to be here. I'm going to be here. I'm going to be here. Yeah. So what if I was going to give artists, I'll demo a dance that want to be the next. Do that want to be the next Michelle? Michelle, you know, want to be the next. What if I was going to give us a. Well, that's a very good question. What I tell kids nowadays grown nowadays, grown up wanting to dance. I say learn all genres of dance. Don't just be tunnel vision. Um,

22:28just with hip hop. I was doing jazz, ballet, contemporary. I did, of course, hip hop. I even on my off days, I would do athletics because I just wanted to always take my skills up a level. I say trying to be strong in every genre and not be mediocre, but don't be tunnel vision, especially black kids. Do not just think one way, you know, because they won't tell you learn ballet, learn contemporary, learn acrobatics, learn anything that can also get you outside of just dancing, that you might be in a circus, a lay or something like that. You got to don't think don't think just, oh, I got to dance for an artist, think broader. You know what I mean? So that would be my biggest advice to kids, just to be able to do that. I mean, I think it's a big advice to kids,

23:29just if you're going to come a dancer, make sure that you have other skills to incorporate that. That's a wonderful advice. That's what we all need to hear. Yeah. So what inspires you? What push and inspiration do you do? What inspires me? That's a, that's a fantastic question. I think what inspires me the most is just seeing where my parents came from, my grandparents came from, and always having that voice in my head of how they would be so positive and inspiring and encouraging. They're no longer here with me, except for my father. He's definitely an encourager. But, and then another thing that really encourages me

24:31is to see my daughter, my child, go through, you know, and then another thing is just creating that feels me. You know, that feels me. But just my ancestors are the one that really inspired me, and I think that's what I've been seeing and seeing what they've gone through. And what I've accomplished, and probably not even thinking that little me from little projects and sacks would be able to do such a thing. But I always say the world is your oyster, and you could just, you know, do anything you want set your mind to do, and don't let circumstances ever deter you from your dreams. But, you know, my mom always said, you always prefer James should believe in God first, and you can do anything you want to do, you know. So, that's how I remember my mom, you know, I just came up for your dreams,

25:31and just do your best, you know, and believe that, for God first, you know, so I definitely agree with you, because that's something we only need to hear, yeah. That's wonderful. Your mom was a good woman. She's still alive. No, she has to pass away five years to a heart of that, so. But, yeah, she, but you, but you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you were loved, I wish, I wish you could remember. Definitely, definitely, had a chance to meet me, meet me. I feel the same way, my mom was the same way. I mean, she was a lovely woman, a lovely, just a sweetheart. You would have loved her too. Yes. I think we all, you all need to love, I wanted to, didn't love our mother, she was a person, a person, a person, a person, but now, when I'll be going, I'll make sure, you know, realize you're not there. You should probably have your life in a place, never know what a fun time is up to. That's right. Yes. I agree. Yes. Family is like so important nowadays. It's just like clinging on to the,

26:31you know, those people that mean so much to you during these times. So, you know, you just cling on to family and close friends that really, really want to see you win and you want to see them win. And just love you unconditionally, right? Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. So how did it, so how did the, so how did the pen, the pen, the pen, the effect you, I mean, everything. How did it affect you? Um, it really didn't affect me, per se, because I, during that time, I'm essential. So, I still worked no matter what. Um, and actually, I booked a commercial, did a commercial, I've been narrating books. So, for me, it just made me to think of other things to do. During this time, to, um, keep that my creative,

27:31you know, make a ton of money doing it as of yet, but just to keep those creative juices flowing and keeping me on tight with my acting, voiceovers and all that, it's that sort of, it only, maybe emotionally with my child having to take them out of school and, you know, that's probably the most effective, and not being able to, they get excited. And not, you're, you're, you're, you're, and not being able to see people on a regular basis. I love to travel, as you know, and I love to travel to other countries. So, that was the main thing, was traveling to see my significant other from it, you know.

28:31So, that was, we'll place every travel, so, what places have I traveled to throughout my years? Yeah. I've been to Paris, London, Italy, Indonesia, Malaysia, Barbados, Trinidad, Africa now. China, Hong Kong, Japan, we performed at the Tokyo Zone. We were going to Japan, so, we were going to Japan, so much, where I had learned Japanese fluently, but I ended up losing it, because I didn't have nobody to speak with. None of my friends wanted to speak Japanese, you know. So, so, Japan, let's see, it's been a Jamaica, or, you know, different Caribbean countries and,

29:31say, Singapore, and, No, Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I'm sorry, in Africa and cultivate the dancing culture in those places. You know, I would love to just go and just learn and teach them. So that's one of my dreams to do. Yeah. You know, yeah. So, and just be a part of that Naliwood. I love the Naliwood. So, I would love to be a part of that little genre of music. I mean movies or Hollywood Naliwood.

30:32Yeah. Yeah. I hear you sing. Have you gone? Oh, I've gone to Mexico on a cruise. I went to, yeah, I went to one of Disney World. I used to, I used to live in Florida. I went, I went by my mother passed in Tampa. So, you know, because I want to, what I, I don't like to pull but I, I want to show them the Florida, California. Yeah. I feel you. Because Boston, you know, if I can't deal, you know, so I want to try and with the, to listen to that, well, it's not a swarm all year round, you know, that's fine dream, you know. Yeah, but I put a, but I put a Florida, I knew you're after Jersey in the Mexico, Arizona. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, I've been in every place in the States. Yeah. Every place in the States. Yeah. Yes. Hawaii is a nice place. Have you ever been there? Well, no, my clothes are meant to be, but not me, you know, hopefully they get married. I was a girl, you know, I definitely want to go down from, you know, from I had him on, you know, yeah, or just, or maybe, or maybe it could go on good on this stuff, you know, but yeah, but I definitely want to go to Hawaii.

31:35I want to go to, I'm Vegas, California, you know, and I go from this Canada. Yeah, I do want to, so much, how much space I want to go on, do my life, you know, see, yeah, you know. Yeah. I'm not family, I'm Vegas. Well, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We had a family in New Orleans, I don't think that's not going to buy any of the guns. I was looking for them. I do want to hopefully get the sum for you, you know. Yeah. That's fantastic. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, really, so really see yourself, you know, years from now, still, still, I'm adding, the adding, directing, you know, I'm sorry for maybe years down the line, you know. Right. Well, I am now in Georgia, I'm from California, lives in California forever. So, recently, we've moved here for the last two years. So, my biggest dream is trying to be a part of the film industry here. It's just trying to crack that net open to be in the place with the right people at the

32:42right time. Yeah. So, I mean, I get so anxious because I miss it so much, you know, the long hours, the creative. I love being in development. Like the production company I was working for, for the Brown family. I literally, when I was working at that production company, that was like on the job training. And that's when I realized how many different, you know, different positions or, you know, things that I would have, you know, that I enjoyed. And it made me say, what out of all this, what do I love the most? And what I have found, I love acting. And I love line producing. Yeah. I love development. I like seeing things put together and then coming into its fruition. You know, I love it. Seeing it in its infancy stage.

33:42To, you know, into something amazing. So I like the creative development part of everything, you know, so what I see myself doing is acting and producing. Oh, that's wonderful. That's wonderful. So, so, so, so you're in Georgia, right? So you're in Georgia, Georgia, Georgia right now, right? Georgia. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Because my closest, my closest client is better down there too. And I'll say, yeah, that's good. Yeah. Oh, really? Are you familiar? I guess my closest client is so far going down there. Maybe we can move some time, you know, so I do want to speak up. We can even for sure, most definitely, most definitely, we move down here so that my daughter can be closer to her father. And that was the reason I was like, hey, she want to be closer to her dad. I said, okay. So here we are. That's wonderful because I do plan to come down. So we're definitely meeting up. Yes, please do you have my number? Yeah. I mean, the Lord's still area, but we have.

34:46I'm in Decatur and Stonecrest at times. I'm working in those two locations, but you know, please. Yeah, I would love to be too in person. Absolutely. And if you kind of boss and I love to have you go over for. You definitely find my house for dinner. Me, me, my. That's a movie. So yeah, okay. Boss has a nice flavor to deck. You know, that town. I love that. I'm a stimp flavor. Yes, definitely. Okay, definitely. Yeah. So I guess I'm. I just have to have some more questions. Okay. Okay. Okay. So I guess my question is. Yes, the answer to you. Is how did the. I'm just like a kind of personal ass. How did the job for you? You know, that's what happened to him George voice in everything going on. You know, racism. How is that fact true as a as an African as African woman for the soul standing there. Yeah, I think that whole.

35:47Incident. The whole nation. Black, white, mixed, whatever. It was such a sad situation and you felt helpless. I mean, I wish I was there to have enough strength to push the cops off of him. But I can see that everybody was so nervous because they didn't want that result to end, you know, that to happen to them. Because it's law enforcement. And you would think law enforcement is going to have our best interests at heart. It was such a sad moment. And it's still a sad moment. And for a mother, a child, other people to see this man, just they just took the life out of him, right? And front of everybody was such a sad moment, you know.

36:51And he's gotten justice. Unfortunately, he's not here to see it. But it affected me as a parent, as a person, as a black person. It affects me deeply. Yeah. Yeah. A lot of black men in my family. Yes. I understand that the doctor, the doctor, for me, you know, that's what you know. I mean, I was crying because it just was totally having said before that to happen. It was like, for me, my nephew, I mean, my dad, you never know, my brother, you know, I mean, being close to no reason. You know, this is, I still cry about it. Because it's not, they're much in happening. You know, makes you think, I mean, it's good. Yeah, these cops have been out of control, you know. You know, this is unbottenshamed. Yeah. It's a thing, it's something that we're trying to heal from, but it's hard because this is not the first incident.

37:52It continues to happen. So it's like putting salt on an open wound over and over and over and no one's doing anything to make it heal. You know what I mean? They're not going to, you know, they're not doing anything to stop it or change it. You know, and these times being a black man, a black woman too, because there's been a lot of black women who have been affected and their lives taken because of law enforcement's disregard for black people. I know. You know, yes, and so sad and sitting, that continues to happen. I mean, you know, it doesn't make sense. You know, it was like, you would think that we've gone past, which is general code laws, you know, from what my mom's been with us yet to know, we think we're going to get better, you know. I kind of thought that one can present things that change, you know, but then he left and we got Trump, you know,

38:53it's like in now, you have a bit of a story, you think that there'll be some kind of change, you know? So you know, I think when Trump was in office, I just think it just was more of an eye opener. It was more blatant and it had been going on, but nobody has said anything. It's been going on for years. Like you said, back in Jim Crow, you thought things, no, it's just been quietly happening. And finally, black people are like, enough, it's enough, you know? So, you know, it just shined a light when he got into office. But I don't think he is the reason. I think people who do those things are the reason. Yes. They have to take responsibility for the actions they take, because I tell you, if it was a different color, it would be a different outcome.

39:54Yes. It's a different outcome. So they know all well what they're doing. We cannot blame the other person. We have to blame the person who's doing the attacking, the killing. You know what I mean? So that's just my take of that. You know what I mean? He did incite some hate for sure that has been there. He just made it. It's almost like working for corporate America and working for the entertainment business. You know, there's maybe a slight racism, but in corporate America, they're blatant in your face with it. And we do something. You know what I mean? It's that kind of thing. But I pray to God, things will change. To a whole bunch of things, if they're afraid of change. Because that's what I want to call you. You know, my degree in liberal arts,

40:56I just want to have a kind of son of a background, you know, because I'm a... You know, so I find it about the college of Yale. So, yeah. I put it on. College degree is definitely something to fall. Is that what you said, college degree? Yeah, definitely. I definitely encourage that too, because it's... Because I did go back to school, and I'm like, six classes away from getting my bachelor's. But I will encourage... I wish I could have did it sooner, because it takes me longer, but also. So, but I think that's just something I have to accomplish. But I think it is important that education is... And don't just go for your associate. Don't just go for your black bachelor's, because now, bachelor's are like associates. Go for your PhD. Go for your masters. Oh, give something or some kind of certificate that it's career-driven. If that's what you want to do.

41:56If one wants to do that, IT, computer science, something like that. I definitely agree. Because that's what I'm going to do. Give my bachelor's the master's too. I think it's important to have that. So, because I know it's much good that you can have a better house, a better job money now. That's what college is for. So, that's what we're going to do now. Yeah, that's so true. Totally true. Yeah, because being a star is wonderful. But you also have to get your phone back, because there's one guy right there. I know that for a fanciful. Exactly. Exactly. And also have a business. Yeah, so... Yeah, before I moved to, I sold my business. I had... I had Bendy Machines. So, I had a group of Bendy Machines. I had Bendy Machines and recording studios, auto shops, different places. I sold them all before I came. Because just... lugging that around from state to state, I was just like, nah. But I sold it to a single mom, but yeah.

42:57Yeah. That's so... That's good. So, what do we... So, what do we can do to make the world... to make the world better in your opinion? Say that again? I'll tell you something. What do we can do to make the world... to make the world better in your opinion? People have to change their heart. It starts with the inside. If people change their heart, we can work on changing the world. I mean, there are some people out there, Black, white, Asian, Hispanic, that are all about the cause and changing the world and making things change. You know, but are they the masses? I mean, I'm glad that we're all coming together to try to make that. We just... I think people just got to... You know, I think those people around them,

43:57Jim Crow has to... But I think it has a lot to do with self and heart. They have to change the heart. Once they change the heart, they can change the world. Yeah, that's... Just that'll want it. There's a lot of people who want that. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. That'll be a blessing. We can change the world like that. That's definitely true. Have you ever thought about... Have you ever thought about running for president someday? Probably. It's president. What's that again? I was asked if you thought about running for president of that state. Yeah, I think... Oh no. That's a lot of responsibility and that's a whole lot of weight. You know, that is not something that I've ever aspired to do or be. But I do respect those people who get out there and do that in campaign and... kick the doors down, pay the walk, the pavement, and make those things.

44:58I mean, because those are some of the things that you can write change. If you be part of the political change, you can change. So... Maybe something on a smaller level? Yeah, that's a whole... A lot of... I don't mind power. I'm a Leo, so I like a lot of attention. But... You know, but... Yeah, that's... That's true. I guess I understand. Yeah. So what is... What is a lot to be famous? To be famous, I mean, stars. I mean, because I've seen it in TV and I saw it in concert. It's like, you're a girl. You know, everyone... You know... I mean, you go to a lot. You got... You know, you're a great dancer. You get money, what's that? What's a lot to be... I guess I'll look at a lot of things. I'll say that last part. I was asking what it's like to do to do that lifestyle.

45:59You know, have fame, money, power. I mean, let's like to be... You know, people... Because my friends, recognize you on TV. So like, yeah, so... You know... Yeah, I'm... You know, let me be... You know, I'm not this huge person, but it's a good feeling. I mean, like I said, I'm a... I'm a scientist, Leo. So I like the attention, the creative, and you know, I like all that. If somebody recognized me, I'm just... I'm just grateful, you know. I'm humbled. But, you know, it has its ups and downs. It's not always what people think it is, you know? Unless you have that residual coming in or royalty coming in or to regulate you. It's not all... I mean, you're just like the next regular person trying to get the next gig or next job in between the next gig.

47:00So that's the reality, you know? That's the reality. So it's like I'm always pounding down a door to try to get the next gig. And while I'm working and taking care of my child, you know what I mean? So... Yeah. I see. Do you still agree with that, you're going to see him sometimes? I do. In fact, I saw him a few months ago in St. Louis. My best friend surprised me and I think I was going to run my brother chief surprised me with the concert and it was him. And so we were so excited to see one another. It's had been a long time. So, but if I need to call him, pick up the phone, he will take my call. But it was a great meeting. We stayed and just chatted the whole way, you know, a whole time and just kind of, you know, reminisced on the things that, you know,

48:00being on, they were trying to get me up there to dance. So I was like, no, no, no. But my best friend, she was like, they're dancing. I was like, no, I'm good. I'll meet y'all backstage. So... Yeah. It was a good meeting. I was really happy, very happy. It was a pleasant surprise. Well, you know, that's pretty, you know, that's pretty. Yeah. I think that's important. Important. You don't burn those bridges because you never know when you got to go back across them. Yeah, that's true. I didn't agree. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Yes. Well, I started this podcast in 2018 as I went to Boston and never in network. I got trained in film production, soundboard engineering, how to... I'm ready for production. It was fun. So once I got certified,

49:01I got certified in the fashion, and I was like, wow. And this is like, I'm sure I was like, what, this is wonderful. You learn how to do cameras, meet one of the people at the end. I got to, you know, it's just, it was like, amazing change of my life, you know, to meet, to be able to have this kind of, this kind of job in film, and learn more about the business, you know, and it was great. So, and so, so, so, so, it's a sign I'm probably going to show, I interviewed you. I think if you're Matthew Knows, Maya, Ashanti, yeah. Oh, that's awesome. And that's really good. Yeah, so I'm kind of blessing to have this show in and meet and reach out to people in that working out, you know, and then I'm at the college, and I might especially be in like, now I'm going to go from, go from Batch down and say, yeah, so I think I'm just, you know, to go find James, you know, I'm also going to, I'm also going to apply, also I'm also going to apply the movie called, I want to depth somebody from about, about when he used to, so that's going to come on in Boston. Oh, and training that? The training? Oh, yeah. So yeah. So. That's from my daughter's father's from training that. But I'm going to try and, but I'm going to try. I'm about to flaw it. Because because to my girlfriend, I'm on a job, so I'm honestly in flaw, you know. Because you just over the cold, right? Yeah, I can't do the clothes. I'm trying to, that happened this year, you know, so, maybe a little for school down down down there down Georgia. A flaw if you're funny. Yeah, it's more than or so. Yeah. Oh, that's good. That's good. So how, let me ask you this. How was it interview and beyond say's father? Well, actually, don't see it was, it was wonderful. I, I guess in the atmosphere tonight, you know, interview. I think you sent it to me. Yeah, I thought, yeah, I thought. Well, he was really. I'm going to fun back. Okay, so. So, um, when we were just, uh, at the post, I mean,

52:06pre-production of the proud family, we had salons and destiny child, do the opening track. So because at the time I was working as the recording coordinator, I had to be in the studio the whole time, right? So, um, the whole production was super excited that, Beyonce and her, um, crew was coming and her sister and Destiny's child. They were super excited. So they like flooded the studio. And I, one, I can't work like that. The only people that needed to be there was myself, the director and the executive producers. So they kicked out the rest of the people. Wow. Cause, uh, Matthew knows I can't do it. Cause, uh, Matthew knows, I think Beyonce had calls or, um, her mom had called. And Matthew knows came in all black, had his briefcase and kicked

53:09everybody out. And he was like, my child cannot, well, he didn't say my child has me. She could not, you know, it was like too much, too many people in the studio and very well, very much so. So they, so it was just myself and the executive producer and the director. And when I tell you, people don't really realize how talented Beyonce is, well, they know. But to see her in the studio and how she works, that's the side people don't really see. They don't see that side of her. She is like the brains behind everything. And she knows how every note should sound. She knows how the production needs to, I mean, she is an amazing talent. People just don't really get that up and close personal experience. And I was so grateful that I was able to see that witness, you know,

54:12because that woman is super talented. It's like, I'm like, that's just like when I met print, this is just like, oh my gosh, these people are just like amazing, you know, so, but that was a fun thing. Matthew came in there like, Gary Bust just like, get out. No, he did it respectfully, but it was just, it was good to see that she had that backup. But I guess that was the time when they were just super, you know, because we were still working together. But yeah, because yeah, maybe. But I got up beyond seeing Beyonce and she was so nice to me. I met her looking at her and she was so nice to me. I was like, my grandson, you were so beautiful. She said, thank you for giving that as long as I'm going to kiss and she was like, wow, she has a hub being there. You know, and yeah, it was just a blessing to mesh to meet her. I was like, wow, this is a Beyonce hub in me.

55:12Yeah, she's super nice. She's super nice. I'm just grateful that I got to experience that moment with them. They were all, they were all amazing. Mm-hmm. You know, this is a launch and Michelle and, let's say I don't know, Kelly, Kelly. Yeah, they were all great. Yeah. Well, yeah, I actually interviewed, I'm the top baller, I was from that's from that's in child. And I thought to the to the to the to the to you, I like it. And Kim and I figured, so yeah, so she was nice to you. And yeah, that's what I thought that's figure. Yeah, so so far in mid-autoria. And what I thought about how I came out and if you'll tell the woman, then I'm asking, I was in the U. And like I said, but the best part was going to be Beyonce. I never heard, you know, she was so nice to me. So I hope to meet again, I don't forget you know, that, you know, she was.
