Congratulations, you have found the podcast for the Met Long Show. This podcast is a replay of my daily radio program which can be heard live on HillCountryPatriot.com at 9 a.m. Monday through Friday, Central Time. This program is Christian Conservative Texas Politics with a focus on citizen engagement. I hope I am informative and I hope to encourage you to get involved and get engaged. Good morning folks, so happy to be here with you on a still a hot summer morning as we kind of wind down the days or getting a little bit shorter. The migrating hummingbirds are starting to migrate through and right now on the calendar for you,
big important thing. September 19th, I'm really excited about this Liberty in Action. We the people Liberty in Action out of Curville, a grassroots organization out of Curville is having a big fundraiser and it's going to be a blast they have an amazing amount of speakers lined up. I've been talking about it regularly every day and if you want tickets to that go to l-i-t-x.com, l-i-t-x.com or if you just really, you know, if you're retired and you got a lot of time on your hands you can spell it all out Liberty in Action Texas.com. That'll also get you there. So however you want to operate on that you've got two options at least or maybe a couple more. You know, I know Rodger always wants to have a couple of ways to get to your website. So there you go l-i-a-t-x.com or spell it all out Liberty in Action Texas.com. I know one of the
events that evening on the 19th of September is going to be a recognition for Chipproy, two Chipproy for the work he's done and I am so proud of Chipproy and just he has done an amazing job of standing up against the swamp in DC on numerous occasions and we haven't we haven't had a representation like that. I hope that Tashira has the opportunity to step into that office and be a stand-up guy and come out against the skunks and the swamp and I hope Tashira follows through with that because that's what he told us on the campaign trail. Well in the latest news from Chipp he has called for a federal investigation into an Islamic project on the north side
of San Antonio and he has said that he has condemned let me see how did he put this. He says, you know what did he say what is this north side Islamic okay they say I knew there was something weird there they say that this north side Islamic center of San Antonio has condemned quote terrorism extremism anti-Semitism Islamophobia hatred and violence in all forms and he argued that judgments about an American religious institution should be used on verified facts and actual conduct not assumptions about its faith and and I have to tell you as as dangerous as I believe that Islam is to our our culture here in North America and how incompatible the the
practices of Islam and the many Middle Easterners that buy into that that's dangerous for our country so I'm going to say all of that and it just makes me mad that I have to put these caveats in front of this every time I talk about Islam but I've been saying from the beginning is that you're going to run into the First Amendment so hard it's going to smack you in the face when we start going after Islam and I know a lot of people have said well I's not really a religion it's a cult Mr. Long they even say they're a political organization and they're a cult that's that argument is going to get you absolutely nowhere well except for among your your close friends who you know all the yes men and women around you will go yeah yeah that's right that's right there there they're a cult they're not no seriously folks whatever you think about it whatever I think about it whatever Harley thinks about Islam the truth is it is accepted internationally as a religious
group and so as a bona fide religion so we're going to have to come up with other ways and we've been talking about that and I think this tying them to tying the different individuals or organizations complete organizations if you can tie them to terrorism or terrorists group that's good I just it's going to be a tough battle in that area that you're just going to it's just going to be tough you're you're going up we live in a country where we have the right to worship as we wish and the entire universe of of the of the world the entire world sees Islam as a religion and so we're gonna this is going to hit a hard hill if you take if you take that it's not a religion stand so that is that is the latest on that and he says Roy says he follows
he comes after that comment I just gave Roy said that quote expansion appears to be a sharia compliant and Muslim only community says sharia has a storied history of treating women children and those of their other faiths harshly while trying to supplant our constitution and so what we need to do is look for and what is going to be the tool against this Islamification of Texas well number one is Jesus and and you can shrug that off but it is that is the answer but if you're going to use the legal system then you're going to have to look for laws that they have broken not laws they might break all right not laws they could break or might break or we're predicting we're looking in our crystal ball and going oh yeah those Muslims are going to do this
that we need to shut them down before they do it we don't live in that country I know that frustrates a lot of people but we don't live in a country where we where we judge people before the crime is committed we wait till there's a crime and then the courts assume innocence until proven otherwise so keep that in mind as much as as Islam riles you and me up and as incompatible as we all know it is you can't go after them as a religion and I think I think that Roy chip Roy's approach has been pretty good and he says we're looking for and you know we need to find we need to find laws that have been broken now that was not in this article but there was another article I read recently about chip and he basically said the same thing they're looking for where are the laws where are
your ties to terrorist organization where the laws that have been broken because that's the only way to shut these down and it'll be one at a time if we can even do that y'all stay tuned folks will be all right we are back you're back I'm back we're all back it is the hill country patriot you are listening to and by the way I didn't get a report from anybody on the Trump train I hope it was a blast those are always nice and of course since everybody has air conditioning in their car it would have been fairly comfortable so I hope everybody had a good time yesterday and I hope it was a successful event for the Kerr County Republican Party all right the whole gender ideology stuff you know I keep thinking that we're almost done with this I keep and then some article out of California
Harley was reading a story this morning about the courts that were still debating on whether a school or the parent had more rights and who has who's got the rights of your kids in school and I thought this was all coming to a close and I think it is get it's it's dying a wimpy death which I think about it is actually very appropriate isn't it it's dying a very wimpy death but however but however the de-transition clinic now de-transitioning is going to become the deal and it ought to and I think the people I have met who transitioned personally met that I've gotten to know Chloe Cole being one of them the another being a young man from Austin I've met him twice and I can see his face and his name is not on the tip of my tongue right now but this was a male who
had had the complete surgery and complete surgery and I remember visiting with him and my I was in pain the whole time talking to him and I'm talking about the pain in my heart it was just it wasn't anything I don't know that guy I've never met him before I don't know his personal life I don't know if he's a I don't know anything about him but sitting there at the table with him and listening to him talk and realize that there's a young man in front of me who's going to be a medical he's going to be a medical patient all his life and his life is very likely going to be cut short and there's some of those surgeries they some of them they can reverse but this is not one of them all right this is not one of the surgeries that can be reversed and just in the conversations I had
with him it was so painful and how many lives have been just completely completely destroyed by the mutilation of their bodies and and you know it's not like getting a tattoo you know I've seen some people get some pretty foolish tattoos over the years and then then you read about them covering up of those tattoos or going through the expense of tattoo removal you can do that all right but this is not a tattoo this is this is irreversible now the hospitals here in Texas the children's which one was it the Texas Children's Hospital which pushed these surgeries on to children they finally lost all of their challenges and they have been forced to now open up a detransit
and clinic so they're going to go in they have to in fact they have to cover all the expenses of the detransitioning they have to to have to cover everything and so let's see re here we go here what are the things that are in services involved endocrinology surgery primary care fertility counseling psychiatry psychotherapy social work case management and that's going to help them that's to include navigation of insurance and legal name changes and a patient navigator to help them coordinate across the departments and speech pathology a Chloe Cole detransitioned at a very young age and I have had several interviews with her and her voice will never ever go back to the voice that God gave her when she was born she has a new voice now it's deeper and lower
sounds she doesn't sound like a dude not quite but it's approaching there and so all the speech pathology in the world I don't know if that's going to help because of the hormonal changes that happened to Chloe when she transitioned and they started taking all the shots and the pills but I am just glad that there is somebody holding these crazy doctors up to to to to their responsibility holding them up it is it's time it is time and I don't know how history is going to look back on this period of insanity but they're going to and there's going to be a time where they're going to go man can you believe the 2020s and you know what did they absolutely lose their ever loving mind was it in the water it could have been something in the water you
know everybody's nervous about the water who knows what they will be speculating about why all this happened when they look back on history who knows they'll probably tie it into all the white vehicles on the road that might have something to do with it you know it's always amazing I love watching these ancient history shows and how many how many conclusions they draw from just a couple of facts it always makes it funny so I think that there's something maybe there will be you know a correlation between you know the mutilation of children for a number of years along with the fact that nobody bought any vehicles other than white I just think I'm going to keep riding on that one no one's sent me information by the way on the fact that white vehicles are safer I have not seen any of that information but I'm going to start watching when I see roadside
wrecks or when I see cars you know smashed cars I'm going to look I'll be willing to bet since most vehicles are white that most of the crash cars are white so I'm going to be looking for that but I'd love to hear someone tell me about the white cars and all the white trucks let's get over that please so the detransitioning it's time they're going to be opening up this clinic is about a month away and it'll be really interesting to see who they deal with the one thing that surprised me was the this clinic and and agreed in the settlement will provide detransition related medical care to anyone up to the age of 21 while patients past that age may receive detransition related obstetrician gynecology medical care so it doesn't sound like it doesn't sound like they're
going to do much after you've turned 21 well I think that is the weak point in this a settled settlement agreement that the care stops at age 21 I wonder if somewhere in there is that if the surgery took place here at this hospital we're going to cover you for the rest of your life I wonder if that is in there somewhere we don't have the I do not have the settlement in front of me but if they're just stopping it to 21 I'm thinking there's a lot of those kids who were detransitioned at 16 17 and 18 more than six four five or six years ago that one that one bothers me a little bit we'll have to see if there is more being said about that but it's by the end of October it's going to be openly open them open then and all care provided will be within
our hospitals existing licensures licensure and scope this is from Texas Children Hospital given the multidisciplinary approach care may be delivered in multiple locations depending on patient needs and services required for each individual patient so Texas Children's Hospital who spent time mutilating Texas Children are now have to gonna fix their problem and I think there should be a multi multi million dollar payment out from every from every single doctor who did this who promoted this who who who had the who did these surgeries that's how I think they should be held responsible all right folks we're gonna take a short break we'll be right back we'll get Pastor Greg Young Chosen Generation Radio on the line with me y'all stay tuned
all right we are back you're listening to the Matt Long show Wake the neighbors call the kids it is Pastor Greg Young with Chosen Generation Radio dot com on the line with me good morning Pastor Greg good morning Matt good morning hill country patriots great to be with you this morning always good to have you on we appreciate your commitment to this program on a weekly basis man we've been doing this for quite a few years haven't we yes we have so always a pleasure let's get a what first of all let me tell you what is the most recent thing you've posted that at at at Chosen Generation Radio dot com what's your latest diet tribe on their pastor Greg well that's a great question I actually have to go look
well I understand that because when I'm posting up my show for podcasts every day and it'll be within a couple hours of having done the show and I'll be trying to write a description and then I'll go wait a minute what was the second part of the show what was the third and I'll have to actually go back and listen to about five seconds to tip my brain off so go ahead the most recent my most recent post is why don't why don't Christians speak boldly well why don't why don't they and and I and I well I believe that a lot of it is because of of wanting to be man pleasers and not wanting to offend and and tickling years you know I had a pastor my my preacher friend Mike sublet up in the panhandle he sends out
little daily texts and one of me sent recently it starts out by saying it's it's not our job to offend people and that's kind of where I stopped and I went oh pastor Greg wouldn't like that part and then he continues on and says our job is to speak truth and if people get offended that's their problem and I thought of you on that because I know you've been pretty clear over the days over the years that we don't need to be afraid of offending people if we're speaking truth that that is look and two things truth in love that's what Paul says in Ephesians he says speak truth in love now when you speak your authority comes from the word of God if you believe that scripture is God breathed which I do inspired by God then you believe that it is God's word
and therefore infallible and you stand upon that that becomes your authority so it's not even your authority so when I say look if if you're practicing these things then the word of God says you're going to hell beyond that what I would say is and and we're going to talk about this in a minute when we talk about social justice in church yeah all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God let's be very clear what that means it means all it means all but here's the good news all scripture given by inspiration of God is profitable for doctrine for reproof or testing for correction and for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect
hmm through Lee furnished and all good works hmm all good works that's a good place for us to transition um there is a scripture in acts the book of acts the second chapter and I can already see people nodding their head out there because a lot of people know what I'm talking about but I want to read this scripture right quick and then we're going to talk about how this scripture has are we living up to this scripture is it uh what what else do we need to know about this scripture but here we go this is from acts the book of acts uh chapter two starting at verse 42 they devoted themselves to the apostles teachings and a fellowship into the breaking of bread and a prayer everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles all of the believers were together and had everything in common they sold property and possessions to give
anyone who had need every day they continued to meet together in temple courts they broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts praising God and enjoying the favor of all people and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved now what we have heard over the years is that this is proof that Christians we need to practice a form of socialism where we all every one of us sells all our goods we all we we share everything in common it sounds like a perfect socialism setup would you tell me would you speak to that would you speak to that is it a falsehood what is the tell us what you think about that scripture all right so let's let's break that down for for just a minute we're talking about acts chapter two right yes sir
and what verse did you go to I went to verse um 43 okay 44 45 yep yep okay and this is in fear came upon every soul many winners and signs were done by the apostles at all that believe were together and had all things common and sold their possessions and goods and parted them to all men even as every man had need and they continued daily with one accord um I I don't know if they sold all of their possessions that's what it says all well no it's no no and sold their possessions and goods and parted them to all men as every man had need all men not all possessions okay you're right um and and what we what I gather from this is exactly
what the church was engaged in until the government came in and began and the church basically began to lay itself down at probably you know prostrate before government rather than before God and the church ceased to be that source in the olden days whenever there was a community that was established there was a church established in that community before anything else in other words you built a church and then you built the community around the church okay we've we've ceased from that and so because of that right everyone then voluntarily
came to the church brought their tithes brought their offerings and out of those tithes and those offerings the the ministers and his family were cared for usually by by being given a cottage and somewhere to live and and they were taken care of those that were needed to be in full-time ministry were provided for out of the same thing which is the same process that was used by the way for the priests in the temple in the Old Testament and then out of that what you had was you had the ability for the widow to be cared for for the orphan to be cared for for those in the community who were not able to care for themselves the church was there to assist with that but remember what the word of God also says if a man will not work he should not eat so one of the things I've
read of heard and I don't even think it was in this article but I heard I think I heard a preacher recently talking about this particular chapter and he used the term he said this is a descriptive uh situation as opposed to a pro scriptive it is descriptive it is describing what they were doing at the time nowhere in there does it say that this is what we are all supposed to do moving out in the future so it is not proscriptive it is just descriptive does that make sense and would you buy into that argument well and I think there's even more to understand with regards to that remember that Christians were heavily heavily persecuted in that day and so whether whether by Rome or by the Jewish community themselves they were they were heavily persecuted so if you if
you became a follower of Christ and you became a Christian then you were having to live in a community where you were ostracized so it became necessary for the community to gather their resources together in order to be able to take care of one another and look out for one another and even potentially to be able to do business together uh it became a very necessary thing for them to be able to gather together I want to throw this into you uh there's a gentleman named Elgin Hushback who has a book it's called What Is Wrong with Social Justice he wrote it in 2014 I used to have him on my program excellent book outlining this from a Christian perspective and something that I would just pose as this anytime that you put an adjective in front of something you have reduced that thing in other words when you say social justice well now you
don't have justice man I like that I had never heard that um but yeah you're absolutely right at narrows the definition of justice which would uh apparently would probably leave a bunch of people Pastor Greg we need to take a great break but um if uh if if uh God wanted us to be a socialist then he would not believe in the ownership of private property and yet I think we have some evidence that uh God did believe in private property so y'all stay tuned folks uh this is pastor Greg ChosenGenerationRadio.com and uh we're gonna take short break and we will be right back all right folks we are back you're listening to the Hill Country Patriot your information station
and my guest as is every Tuesday as pastor Greg Young ChosenGenerationRadio.com and we've been talking about this silly idea among uh Christian churches that somehow uh there is uh that Christians should be socialists and uh I think we've torn that one up one of the precepts of socialism uh oh I need to correct myself I said descriptive versus proscriptive it's descriptive versus prescriptive and uh want to apologize for uh all the English teachers out there who were yelling at the radio prescriptive that uh X2 and those verses and X2 were not prescriptive they were descriptive of what was going on all right let's talk about uh does God believe in private property well I think some of the earliest words weak find from God actually written in God's own hand he talks about
don't steal so pastor Greg unwrap this for uh for us if we're uh not supposed to have any possessions and live a socialist lifestyle how can stealing be a thing the floor is yours yeah that would be kind of difficult you you would have to have possession and the word also says do not covet hmm so we're not supposed to covet or want what someone else has meaning that people have possessions uh in in in fact you know the word of God tells us that he prescribed to Abraham uh by by the exact boundaries and measurements exactly the land that Abraham was to inherit that God said this belongs to you now and it will belong to your children and your children's children and so on really for forever and that's of course uh what we know today as Israel
Matthew 929 says in everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for my name's sake will receive a hundred fold and will inherit eternal life so Jesus himself says that you possess houses you possess land and you're going to be rewarded a hundred fold for having left those things or uh in in the sense given those things and said Lord these belong to you uh their years before their mind and at Proverbs 19 14 says house and wealth are inherited from fathers but a prudent wife is from the Lord Proverbs 13 33 says a good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children but the sinner's wealth is laid up for the righteous so there's a variety of scriptures that speak to physical inheritance and and clearly outline
that God desires in fact Proverbs Psalms 37 29 says the righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever you know when I'm just let's just have a little makeup story here the uh I'm walking down the street and I see someone on the street and I feel I just feel that movement in me that I need to do something to help this person and I'm thinking you know how much money oh I got about eighty dollars oh you know I can get more money out of the bank I'm going to give this person everything I have in my wallet and as you're approaching the person they stand up and pull a gun and rob you so the difference between being charitable and being forced to be charitable if that person robs me am I being charitable uh Pastor Greg no they are violating as we
talked about when we you know just a few moments ago that was shall not steal so there's they are in sin and in rebellion that that has nothing to do with your charity so when the government takes money from me by force by force of let's get to the at the end of the day and I hate that phrase but by force if you don't pay your taxes at some point in time the government's going to come after you and in certain situations they may even use a fire arm to come after you so we are forced by the government to give money and then that money the government says we're gonna we're gonna give this to poor people is there is that charity I know I don't believe that's charity and again remember what I said when we first began at one point in time the church was the fabric and the center of of community it is no longer people don't tie I mean a lot of that is because they don't
trust that they don't trust that the minister is going to properly handle the funds and many have been guilty of not handling funds properly and therefore people have uh have shied away from that in so many ways and and if you preach about tithing and about the blessings of it and about the need of it for the community oh my gosh that's terrible now you're now you're into that prosperity gospel and they but God's word I just quoted to you Matthew 929 the word of God says that God does want to prosper those who have their house in order and who and who have their finances in order and it begins with having your finances in order with God malachi 3 who has robbed me it's pretty clear so you know my my suggestion is it really if we want to do this right we need to get back to the church meeting these needs not the government you know I have said it quite
often that there would it wouldn't be wonderful to wake up today and all of our welfare programs have just gone away not because the government stopped doing it but because people stopped depending on it because the rest of the community was stepping up what a great day that would be you know you mentioned tithing and there was something that gale and I and several other couples we know had talked about over the years tithing it is my opinion that tithing is not necessarily necessarily tithing to the church that you attend it can be but I think tithing can also be just being charitable with your money for the sake of the Lord and you know not it's not a mathematical equation do you what's your opinion on that well I think that tithing is set as as a as a standard
if you will but I also believe that you know we we give as as the Lord impresses upon us um sometimes it's a tith sometimes it's it's well beyond a tith relative to whether it should go to your local I think it needs to go where you're being fed spiritually that's where the tith goes then above the tithing then you have offerings and scripture talks to us about offerings as well and I think offerings are are a very important part of our spiritual walk as well that we present the tith if we're being fed by by a particular church and we know that that church is using those funds to assist in the community and meet needs uh then I think it's a great place to sew
and then above and beyond that the things that we that we do are are really offerings that we give including time and gifts and ability hmm absolutely amen you know we had a preacher in here um he was actually on Harley's show and this was five or six years ago so good luck trying to figure out who it was but um they I can't remember what they were talking about but when I came into the studio and in the seven minutes in between um we were talking about uh this uh being about taking care of the poor and the hungry and all of that and and the uh preacher said you know that's why we invented a government that's why God invented government was so that the government would feed the poor and the hungry and clothen naked any comments on that oh I already heard a growl any comments on that one yeah oh yeah I mean the one of one of the churches most effective witnesses
is is is is it's compassion it's it's care and and scripture clearly says that taking care of widows and orphans is is pure religion because it's these are people who uh you know theoretically aren't are not someone that you're going to give to or you're going to you're going to assist because of what you're going to get back in return right physically speaking right um these these are individuals who who really you know need help Jesus does not say don't help the poor now he does say the poor will be with you always in other words you're always going to have people that are going to be struggling and they're going to be poor and they're going to need assistance and and it is I believe it is incumbent upon the church and as much as they are able remember Jesus
as parable was you know when you saw me thirsty you gave me drink when you saw me hungry you fed me when did we do it well when you did it to one of the least of these hmm absolutely pastor Greg it's always good to have you on um at demia favor there's a lot of people that are going to be on the road starting today and many many people gathered up in Dallas at the American Airlines Center and there's protests already planned against those of us who are attending and we need prayers in fact we need prayers from everybody all the way through Thursday night maybe even into Friday morning early um but we need a blessing and a prayer to cover our midterm convention up in Dallas pastor Greg. Heavenly Father we just come before you now giving you all the prayers all the glory and all the honor thank you Father God that we live in a nation where we are free where we do have
liberty Father I just come against all of this divisiveness and the anger and and and everything that the enemy has stirred up to divide us I asked Lord God the hearts would be open that eyes would be open that ears would be open to come to truth I pray for protection Lord on travel and protection Father God for those that are gathering in Dallas and I pray Father God Lord again just for those that are coming with anger and hate in their hearts and malice I pray Father God Lord that that you would suspend the spirits that are driving them giving them a window of opportunity to come to truth in Jesus name Amen Amen Amen Pastor Greg thank you so much and we'll stay in touch over the next couple of days and by the way that whole two days of programming will be streaming live and you can watch it um I would just looking for that I would start at Texas GOP the Republican
Party of Texas website and there's a link there to the convention and uh a pair somewhere there will be a link for you to watch it live Pastor Greg thank you so much God bless you Matt be safe out there folks remember Jesus Christ is still the king he's still on the throne Amen all right folks um we're out of here and uh we will uh be coming to you live from Dallas the good lord willon and the creek don't rise or well the creek's not gonna rise in Dallas in the next couple of days but there's a lot a lot of things that might melt it's gonna be awfully hot we'll see y'all tomorrow from Dallas um
