And here in this segment, we're going to make our fearless predictions. Yes, sorry. You okay? Yeah, it was distracted by Jay in there. Yeah, here we go. The NFL season started last night. We talked about that a little bit with Troy, the latest. On Sam Darnold, man, that was just awful. Five plays in. He gets planted on the artificial turf. Get sacked. And it looks really awkward because his knee is driven down into the turf. And that's what you thought it originally was. Oh, he maybe got a bruise knee, but it's a hip injury. Cats can't on it last night. They say they're encouraged by it, but inconclusive.

1:01He will have the MRI today. The fear was that it was fractured, which would mean that's it for the whole season. Yeah, they said at this point, we're able to rule out a fracture. So that's the best news possible right now. Yes. And then some were speculating that it wasn't a dislocation because he was able to walk, not very well, but he was able to walk into the dressing room. I don't know. Looks like Seattle's going to be without him for a while. I hope not the entire season. That's just the worst week one injury. And that is at least for me, watching hard knocks. It's not that I'm rooting for Seattle. It's just that I'm familiar with them and saw their story up close. And it's just I don't know. It was extra heartbreaking seeing that last night. And what was supposed to be an awesome night. You're there in front of your home crowd. It's a Super Bowl rematch, which by the way, there was some pretty good trivia last night.

2:03This is only the third time in NFL history that it's happened that the Super Bowl was a rematch the next year in week one. 1970, the Vikings and Chiefs did it. The Vikings got back at him in one. Broncos Panthers in 2016. And then last night. So this doesn't happen very often. Both defenses look great. Seattle, even if they are without Darnold's let's say six to eight weeks. I think they can survive. And I think they could have a winning record with Drew Locke. Because that's how good I think their offense is. He's got a lot around him. He's got a great offensive line. He's got maybe the best receiver to throw to. And he's got that defense man. So that's a pretty good situation for a backup quarterback. That Jackson Smith and Jigbaugh touchdown catch and run was just incredible last night. He is so great. And it was nice to see the season get off to a awesome start last night.

3:03We had that game for you on the ticket. We'll have 49ers and Rams. First game ever from Australia in the regular season. That's an odd way to open it up. We'll have the game for you tonight. And then of course we have the Cowboys in giants on Sunday night. And Troy mentioned that you want to get off to a good start. Seems pretty reasonable. You want to win that opener. It's just one of 17. But as Bob and I talked about on the Muzers the podcast Cowboys edition that's out today. There is something to that game one. Isn't there because you've been you spent this whole off season. Trying to fix things. Working on things. Hey, this is what we're going to improve on. This was a trend we had last year. We're going to fix that. You start working on your first week opponent, you know, months in advance. When you lose that opener, it's such a gut punch. Yes. Such a gut punch. Because you basically have been getting ready for it for months.

4:07And just real quick, going back in Cowboy history. Isn't it absolutely remarkable that from 1965 to 1986, 22 openers Tom Landry's record was 21 and one. That's incredible. 17 straight. It's just ridiculous. And that was always his thing. You get off to a good start. And not just that first game, but the first month or month and a half of the season. All right. So our predictions, which as we mentioned earlier, I just sarcastically said, I think we're around 90%. I don't know when we've done this in either August or September. If I've ever gotten a Super Bowl matchup right or a Super Bowl champion right. If I have, it's probably been less than 30%. Did you have, you got on Seattle about midway through the season last year? I think it was a little earlier than midway through the season. But yes, I got on them early, but they were not my preseason.

5:10Pick. Yeah. I want to say my one of these last two years, my preseason Super Bowl pick. A couple of them didn't even make the playoffs. That's how hard it is. So the Rams are such overwhelming favorites this year. But the odds give them like a 20% chance to win the Super Bowl, which is very heavy. But that means there's an 80% chance they won't. That shows you how hard it is to pick NFL football. It is. But against that backdrop, as we start in the NFC East, I think everybody is better. We'll have better records than they did last year. John Harball. We'll see it on Sunday night. Just his arrival there. I think makes them a better organization. Dan Quinn will have somewhat of a bounce back in Washington, although I'm not sure about their offense. And I think Philadelphia is going to win this division again. Because I think they're going to win like at least 11 games.

6:15So I'm going to give them the division for the third time in a row. And no one's done that in the NFC East since the early odds. And I have the Cowboys finishing second and being a wild card team at 10 and 7. I've also got Philadelphia winning the division. And I've also got Dallas finishing second. I think Philly wins 11 games. I think the Cowboys win nine and get a wild card. I think Cowboys are going to be better. They can't be worse on defense. I know we said that last year, but they really will be better on defense this year. And their offense will be fine. Schedule is really tough. That's the one thing preventing me from making them an 11 win team. I think they're borderline that caliber. But I think the schedule will be so difficult that there'll be a nine win team. Yeah, somewhere in there, that schedule, even if things switch out, I think it's going to be a difficult stretch for them, especially towards the end where they're playing road games in Seattle and Los Angeles.

7:19I also find it funny how, when we talk about the Philadelphia Eagles, a lot of people look at them and say, well, they're on their fifth offensive coordinator in five years. They're in disarray. I don't know if they can get that fixed. Well, the Cowboys are on their fourth defense of coordinator in four years, but everybody around here acts like everything's fixed. Yeah. So, I mean, it depends on what city you're in. Absolutely. And the Philly offense last year was not nearly as bad as the Cowboys defense. Right. And the Philly defense, I think, is terrific. Yes. Awesome. And I think it's going to be really good again this year. All right. I believe in the dream team. And I would have had this, even if we had done this yesterday, I have the Rams winning the West. And I think Seattle's going to give him a fight with or without the same, Donald, but I do believe the Rams will win the West. Me too. In the North, I do believe in what Detroit has done in this off season. I think Chicago will fall back a little bit in Green Bay.

8:22Will not be as good as Detroit. I have the Lions winning the North. Me too. And I do believe that Baker Mayfield's got a new deal. I think they fixed some things on the Tampa defense. I don't see anyone beating them in the South. Wow. We have the same forward division winners in the NFC. Maybe for the first time ever. Yeah. I've also got the Bucks. And my wild card teams in addition to Dallas will be, I'll stick with Seattle and the Chicago Bears. I will, I'm all in on the NFC West again. I've got Dallas, Seattle and San Francisco as my wild cards. Can you give me if Sam Darnold is out for like the whole season? I'll take San Francisco as a wild card team. We just don't know there yet. And I think Dallas will meet Philadelphia in the NFC championship game. And the Cowboys for the first time since 1996. I'll stick to it out of odds.

9:23And a belief in Shotty and CP that they will go to the Super Bowl this year. And that is where I will take an exit ramp from being in Unison with you on these picks. I don't know that Dallas wins a playoff game. I think it all depends on who they're matched up with. You know, if they're the worst wild card and they get the best division winner, you know, they have to go on the road. So as dice is a wild card. What if they have to go on the road to play the Rams in the first round or Detroit in the for I don't think they'll I'll put it this way. I don't have many NFC championship game. Okay. I have the Rams winning the NFC history says you're safe on that or maybe it's time. Maybe it's just a matter of numbers that they finally advance in the postseason. In the AFC, my division winners are Buffalo in the East, Denver in the West. I think Cincinnati is going to have a resurgence. And I think they're finally going to get back to the postseason.

10:24I like them in the North. And I think Houston's defense carries them to a divisional title in the South. I've got Buffalo in the East. I've got Kansas City in the West. I've got Baltimore in the North, even though everybody's picking Cincinnati. I think I think a new coach, fresh eyes. I think that helps Baltimore. Yep. And in the South, I've got Jacksonville. I think this is the year that it might actually click for Jacksonville. And everybody's picking Houston. Sorry, I cannot pick Houston. After seeing CJ Stroud last year at the end of the season. And then in the postseason, I just cannot do it. I've got no faith in him, even though they've got the best defense and football. All they have to do is score 16 points. I'm not sure he can do that. Well, that's fair. That is fair. And I have Jacksonville, Baltimore, and Kansas City is my wild card. So the same team's just kind of jumbled as to finish. Yeah, I've got my wild cards.

11:25Denver, Houston, and Cincinnati. Denver and Buffalo in the AFC championship game with the Buffalo Bills and their new stadium going to the Super Bowl. And this time, they're going to beat the Cowboys. Okay. I've also got Buffalo winning the AFC, but I've got the Rams beating them in the Super Bowl. Okay, very, uh, some user symmetry here. So we've got the same two teams in the Super Bowl. And yes, oh, no, no, no, you've got the Cowboys. I got the Cowboys. We got the same team out of the AFC only. And, uh, yeah, my only advice is maybe listen to what Craig has to say. I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I am glad that the National Football League is back. Never notice how the second you lock in your picks, you completely changes a person before kick off your chilling, relaxed, maybe even a little bit bored. Then you lock your picks in. Now you're staying at three feet from the TV because somehow that's helping.
