The Secret Garden

About this episode

Follows the transformation of Mary Lennox, a sour and neglected orphan sent from India to live at her uncle’s gloomy English estate. Upon arriving at Misselthwaite Manor, Mary discovers a hidden garden that has been locked for a decade and meets her sickly, hidden cousin, Colin Craven. Aided by a local boy named Dickon, who possesses a mystical connection to nature, the children secretly restore the garden and find that the fresh air and manual labor heal their spirits. As the flora blooms, Colin’s health miraculously improves, and he eventually learns to walk, shedding his identity as a shut-in. The story concludes with the emotional return of Mr. Craven, who is overjoyed to find his son healthy and the family’s legacy of grief replaced by the magic of growth.

Then Dale tried to console us with the quote, winning isn't everything. Dale's a loser. I played a win, like early payout from Beth 365. If my team goes that big, I get paid out instantly, even if they blow the lead later.

Are you ready for a story? Okay, let's get all snuggled in and begin. Once upon a time, there was a little girl, and her name was Mary. Now, Mary often played all by herself. And, you know, because she didn't have any friends to giggle with, she felt just a little bit grumpy, deep down inside. Well, one day, Mary went on a long, long trip. She rode on a rumbling, chugging train that went choo-choo all the way to a great big old house. It was in a place far away where the wind would whistle. And everything was very, very quiet. And guess what? This big, quiet house had 100 rooms. Can you even imagine that? Wow, that's way more rooms than all your fingers and all your toes.

Mary, you see, she loved to explore. She would tiptoe tiptoe tiptoe down the long, quiet hallways, peeking at all the closed doors and wondering, hmm, I wonder what's behind that door. But you know what? The very best place to explore wasn't inside the house at all. Nope, it was outside. Oh, the air was so fresh and there were so many twisty, turny little paths to follow in the gardens. Then, one sunny morning, a little bird with a bright red tummy flew right down to say hello to Mary. He wanted to show her a secret. What do you think it could be? Jerp, Jerp. The little Robin showed her just where to look. And there it was. It was a key, a secret, old, rusty key, just hiding in the soft dirt. Oh, it felt so special in Mary's hand. A secret key. Oh, how exciting. But, hmm, what did the key open? What locked did it fit into? So Mary looked and she looked all around.

And then she saw it. Hiding behind a big curtain of green leafy vines was a little door. She pushed all the leaves aside, put the key in the lock, click, and it turned. Mary took a deep breath and stepped inside. Wow, it was a secret garden, a magical quiet place that was all overgrown. Because you see, no one had been inside for 10 whole years. It was her very own secret. And in this wonderful, special garden, Mary didn't feel lonely or grumpy anymore. Not one bit. She ran and she skipped and she breathed in the fresh, sweet air. Her cheeks turned all rosy red, and she had a great big smile right on her face. She felt so, so happy. As Mary helped all the little flowers in the garden grow, something else started to grow too, a brand new friendship. She met a boy named Dickon. And Dickon was so kind and so gentle that animals just loved him.

Little bunnies and tiny squirrels would follow him everywhere he went, just to be near him. Mary just knew that Dickon could keep a secret. So she showed him the hidden door and they shared the magic of the garden together. You know, it's so much more fun to have a secret with a friend. But wait, back in that big quiet house, there was another secret. Sometimes when it was very late at night, Mary would hear a sad sound. It sounded like someone was crying. Who could it be? So Mary followed the sound and she found a boy named Colin. Oh, he was so sad because he had to stay in his bed all day long. And he felt very, very lonely, you know, just like Mary used to feel. Right away, Mary knew just what to do. First, she told Colin everything about the magical secret garden. Then Dickon came and introduced Colin to all of his friendly animal pals. And finally, together, they helped Colin come outside into the warm, bright sunshine for the very first time.

And when Colin heard all about the garden, a little smile appeared on his face. He whispered, I think, I think I could get well in a garden like that. Just the idea of the garden was already making him feel a little bit better. And you know what, he did. The three new friends spent every single day in the garden. They planted beautiful, colorful flowers. And they laughed and giggle together in the warm sunshine. They even watched their friend, the little Robin, feed his tiny baby birds. All that fresh air made them feel strong and so happy. As the garden woke up for springtime, the children came alive too. The garden wasn't lonely anymore. And neither were the children. It wasn't just a secret place now. It was a happy place, a place full of laughter and friendship. And that, my dear friend, is the most wonderful kind of magic there is. The end. And Amika insurance, we know it's not just about where you're going. But who you go with?
