Will Ospreay's AEW Championship Run Starts WRONG | AEW Dynamite Review (9/2/26)

Thank you so very much for joining us. Right here on off the script. This is your AEW Dynamite post show for September 2nd, 2020, 26th Army Host J.D. from New York. As always coming to you live from the OTS Beer Garden. Thank you guys so very much for joining us on this Wednesday evening, wherever you may be joined by the Lucha Legend himself, the shot town, Smark Jesse. What's going on brother?

1:01Well, though, bro. How you feeling, mate? Hola. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not allowed to do my normal entrance here. So, uh... Well, you could say it in the Lucha Tradition, Hola. Hola, what is, uh, Hola, seniors. Hola, seniors, yes. And Senoritas. Is that allowed? I think that's allowed. I think that's allowed. How you feeling, man? How you feeling after, uh, after rolling, after Dynamite tonight this fall out show? Man, well, it was a show, you know? It wasn't all in, I'll tell you that. It was a... Oh, man. It wasn't anywhere close to all that. All in, all in, felt like a completely different company. Are you sure you only gave it a 6.5? It was only a 6.5, bro. Stick into my guns on that one. It wasn't anything for a right home about that. It was better than last year's show. Uh... It was, it was better than last year. Yeah. What did you get last year? I don't remember.

2:01I didn't like last year's show. Wow. I think I gave last year's show like a 4.5? Yeah, yeah. I don't know. 6.5 is a little, is a little unfair for me. It's very fair. I wouldn't have enjoyed a 6.5. I wouldn't have enjoyed sitting there, you know, in the early morning hours and watching a 6.5. I enjoyed myself. Listen, the last two matches were really, really fucking good. Okay. Really good. They saved the show. They really go. There wasn't any bad. No, it wasn't bad. It's just that, you know, who cares about half of the stuff that they do, you know? No. And the bill wasn't there. No, no, the bill wasn't there. I mean, we see the bill every week. We know that. That's, but tonight, man, it's a whole nother beast. I don't even know where to begin, bro. I don't know. Imagine, Chester, I got to ask you, man, just imagine this in a far off land. Imagine you're a wrestling promoter, right?

3:02Imagine you're a wrestling promoter and you got your new world champion here. Will Osprey's got the world championship around his waist. It looks fucking good. He's the guy's the ace now. And you want to come up with the first challenger for the AW championship, going into your next pay-per-view, which is in Chicago at the now arena, home away from home for AW, all out 21 days away. Imagine you're a wrestling promoter and the way you tell everybody the main event of this match is by having two guys in the main event who had nothing to do with each other tonight. Didn't even cross paths tonight. Didn't say one word to each other all night up until the last 15 seconds. And then you tell everybody that this match is happening, not via promo, not via the commentators, not via the champion, not via the challenger, but through a graphic that shown up on the big screen and the challenger for the championship. Jesse, this is the most important part, the challenger for the championship almost gave your reaction as if he didn't even know he was in the main event of the pay-per-view

4:0721 days from now. Imagine that. Yeah, that's that's a way to go about it. You know, I'm always I'm always one of the, you know, benefit of the doubt blah blah blah all of that shit. And let's be honest, man, the crowd kind of marked for it, you know, the moment for me didn't really stick. I mean, and sometimes predictable is good. I predicted that Moxie was going to turn on Osprey and in the at the end of the show here. And it looked like he was going to turn on him. Like, oh, he's going to turn on him. Here we go. Here we go. And he didn't then we got what we got. It looked very predictable to say he's going to turn heel on him, which put a death right. I don't even know what that means anymore. But he didn't, he did what he did. And the aftermath I was thinking that man predictable would have been good here. People would have been, it would have been one of those instances where predictable works.

5:09Because what we got, it just kind of felt flat at least for the home viewer. I mean, the live crowd did kind of react to it. They saw the graphic first and then the camera work kind of just pan to it. Then we got the reactions that we got. And you're right. We didn't get like a sinister grin from Moxie like, hi, hi, I just planned this before I came out. No, he had to look like, oh shit. We're in a match together. You know, in Chicago, you know, so it, I don't understand it. I mean, me and my chat at first, we were trying to figure out how we got here. Like, okay, did winning the, you know, the cup, get him this opportunity. And like, well, no, he wasn't giving that opportunity. And we got MJF parading around with the one on B championship title. He's not the number one contender. And we got on Droddy, but the contract he hasn't cast that in yet. So we were just kind of confused how we got here. Like, who, like, why was this decided? Like, why, how do we get here? I don't, I don't know. I, I, I guess that the match they wanted in this one for all out is coming about because.

6:20I guess John Moxley gave Will Osprey everything he had going into. All in and now it's Osprey's time to repay. I, it's like, he's got to debt to pay to John Moxley. And now he's got, now John Moxley's got to collect in Chicago. I don't know. But they got story, they got story that was everything that the death riders did to help Osprey get to where he is. And we knew it was coming. Yes. But it was, it was nothing happened to make the match official in a way where it's like, all right. Now I understand why these two guys are going one on one for the championship. Nothing happened. Yeah. Yeah. There was no turn. There was no attack. There was, there was no words exchanged. There was no match plans for tonight that gave Moxley the edge over everybody else. It was just announced. Right. Right, right, right. I mean, I don't know. I could have thought of a few different ways to capture that moment and everything like that, you know, I don't know. Moxley comes out, you know, maybe even congratulate him like after his celebration, his moment.

7:22And they just kind of whispered to him, like just sort of the microphone, but you can hear, we talked about this, you know, you said you were going to give me something when we got to this moment. And then he just had a confused look in his face. Like, what are we talking about? What's I supposed to give you? And then we pan to the graphic, you know, I'll see you in Chicago. And you know, but I don't know. It made it look what exact way should they have done? I don't know. But I do know this the way they went about it just flat. It just felt kind of flat to the home. You know, listen, the reason why Tony and I were going to be like, you know, I'm going to the reason why Tony announced the match and the way that he announced the match with no prior buildup and no real tension between Moxley and Osprey right now. You know, I, I am, I am an old school viewer. I want to see something play out on television, lead to a match and then get the match announced. These people do things backwards. You know, they had attention with John Moxley and Will Osprey, then Osprey joins the Death Riders, Moxley trains him going into all in. Osprey doesn't need their help anymore.

8:23He wins the championship on his own because he wanted to do it on his own. He beat his idol, Kenny Omega. And now we all expected something to play out here, but they missed the one most important crucial step here. And that is giving John Moxley a reason where I should say give Will Osprey a reason to defend the championship against someone like John Moxley. The only reason why Tony Khan announced this match like he did and the only reason why announced this match so quickly in an ass backwards way is because he's got to counter program WWE, worlds collide at the Allstate arena on the very same night that all out is taking place in Schumberg and now arena because they announced CM Punk over there. God knows who else they're going to announce, but I disagree, stop, stop running to WWE. Bro, he's got he's got to put the biggest Matt, the biggest card together. He's got to put a card together thing is he's got a he's got a speed ball this shit

9:23because all in and all out are so fucking close. He's got to put a card together that show is happening. It needs a main event. I don't think he's putting on anything that's going to make people not watch WWE. The show takes place on the 25th. He's got more than enough time to not announce this match tonight. Maybe wait till I don't know next week play the angle out and announce the match next week. Or here's a better one. Why don't we wait till we're wrestling dream to do it. They've got to move. He's got to start. They got to is it sold out? They probably have tickets to sell. They have to push this bill. They don't have time. They don't have time for shit. It's this month. They have a few weeks. They got to get going. I don't know. They have to get going, but they don't have time for a slow bill. They have to announce this shit. They have to build to it. They have to move. But this is the same reoccurring problem every year after all in all out is right down the street. So it's always the same problem every year on Labor Day.

10:26So you're telling me that this this match and this announcement has absolutely nothing to do with WWE happening on the same day. What difference does it make if they announce the match tonight or next week, the longer they wait, the stupider it gets because they're so close already to the paper. The longer they probably I'm asking for a weaker to the paper views happening in 23 days. You could have at least given me a week to play this shit out and then announce the match next week after a brutal attack. Are the tickets sold out? I don't know. I mean, they're not selling bad. Probably not. They probably need to get the main event out there to sell the venue man. They probably do. And I don't think this main event is going to do anything, you know, to the WWE. I mean, what's this what's this announcement supposed to mean? It's just off-brave versus Moxley. I mean, it's nothing groundbreaking to counter anything WWE. Well, it's not it's not like a push over match. It's a big fucking match. Sean Moxley's the fucking top guy here.

11:27But I'm not MJF. What happened? Hey, he's not going to be on television. We'll tell you why in a second he's not going to be on television. He did the same thing last year after all out when he lost the brisco. He went away. He's going away. He's going to come back and you don't know when he's going to come back. And when he comes back, he's going to win the championship. That's my prediction. I didn't know he was going away. He's going away. You didn't hear him. My niece fucked up. His knee was fucked up before it is. I don't think he's niece fucked up. It's just a way to get him off television. Again. Yes. Trust me. He's now fucked up. This is a big match. No, Moxley and Osprey. This is this is months of investment that you just announced the VIA graphic. It doesn't feel that big of a match to me. Well, because the way they went about it didn't feel big. I don't think it's going to rival anything that a competitor is doing. This is just another main event as far as AEW is concerned. I don't know. I don't like the way that they they went about business tonight.

12:28What we're talking about, if you guys are just joining us, Moxley and Osprey is announced for all out. They announced that the graphic with two two guys in the match, Osprey Moxley, having shocked faces like they were fucking caught, you know, a troll being trolled by some comedian. That's exactly what it came off like. And it looks stupid and it looked comical. And before that, we had the open of the show. Osprey cuts this impassioned promo about Kenny Omega and he wants to start a new United Empire and in AEW and I'm like, God, nobody X for that. Nobody X this. It's already all friends wrestling. We don't need any more friends in cooots with Will Osprey. So the United Empire proper is there and they get a match. Ricochet comes on out. He wants to shot out the world title. Gabe kid is out. He wants to shot the world fucking title. And then we get this big party matches, big 10 man tag in the main event. And then after the matches over to the death riders are out there. Gabe kid wants to completely blast Will Osprey with a steel chair.

13:31John Moxley stops him and then Gabe kid frustrated that Moxley's not going to allow him to do it. He leaves the ring and then we get the graphic thrown up on the big screen with this match announced for all that just a comical way to go about it. But I don't know, man. I will. It didn't come off will at home. No, it did not. And I say that because it feels like the live crowd, you know, kind of popped for it. Maybe it was in the moment type shit. I don't know. But at home, it was just like, what are they doing? I guess somebody coming out and then the camera pan and I was like, Oh, okay, this is happening. And then as they paused in that moment, me and my chat, we're sitting there trying to make sense of it on us, you know, to ourselves like, well, why is this happening again? Was he entitled to this match for winning the cup? Like, no, he get to keep his title. Okay. Then why not this person? Why not this person? What happened to MJF?

14:31What about Andrade? Well, Andrade gets the cash in when he wants. Maybe he'll cash in. Maybe he won't. It was, we didn't, we didn't know why it was happening. They didn't explain why it was happening. I guess that is safe for next week, apparently. But it just the moment it didn't feel like they capitalized on that moment to be honest. I was, I was saying before we got that moment that the show was bad this week because they did nothing to get us ready for all out and it's coming up this month. So now they have to wrap up all in and then hurry up and get us ready for all out. Yeah. And if they were left without announcing the main event during this show, I would have been even more disappointed because they needed the main event out there. This happens every fucking year because they have all out too close to all in. This is the same problem every fall. Well, it's going to, it's going to be the same thing going into the month of October. I mean, Russell Dream is going to be taking place in the third week of October. And then they have a grand slam France in the first week of October on October 6th.

15:35Tell us like they got all these back to back to back to back shows. It's like everything is so closely put together on the calendar. They do it to themselves. They leave nothing to breathe. Now it's too bunched up. It's way too bunched together. All right. What with us, Brad, the champion now coming out of all out. You clearly see some of the direction. He's got his boys on TV. Callum, Callum Newman. And we got Francesco Akira and Hanari. Now I don't know how long they're going to be on AW television. If they're going to be splitting time between AW and New Japan, I don't know. He says he wants a new United empire, whatever the fuck that means. So the death riders are clearly still involved. They came out in the main event, Gabe Kid, the dogs, Clark Connors. I'm assuming David Finley's going to be involved in some way, shape or form. He wasn't there tonight. And it looks like we may be having some sort of mixed Jesse because there are no.

16:37I mean, there's the Don Callus family, but you know, I don't want to see the Don Callus family. Mix it up in the blood and guts match is where I'm going with a conglomeration of baby faces again, because that, that just feels very hat, hazardly put together. Nobody wants to see that. I think we've seen that way too much. The Don Callus family's dominant at television. And we don't want to see that. So I think what we're looking at and this is just me spitballing is that whatever Osprey comes up with, whether it's the new Japan version of the United Empire or his version here in a W this new United Empire that he wants to put together. Some mix of Will Osprey and friends is going to be battling John Moxley and the death riders or the death riders and the dogs and mixture of both factions inside blood and guts. And that's what we're looking at. It looks like we're really going to be going towards a Moxley and Will Osprey feud. But like you said, I mean, they got off to a fucking shit start tonight because they

17:39announced this match in the way that they did. But I think that's where we're going. Did you think that? Did you and your chat talk about that tonight? Are you are you thinking along the same wavelength here? It we weren't sure what was going. We just know that it we knew it needed to go and they would not really give us any kind of direction. It would just it was all over the place. All these new members coming in from you. E again, when you just dump a bunch of new people that people are unfamiliar with. And then when you add in drade into that too, it might make sense to the people who are aware, but for those of us who are not, it just feels very thrown together. Like it just it did not feel like it made me sense. We didn't know where they were going with Osprey. I mean, if they look, Moxley versus Osprey makes sense. It just it feels like even though they have, you know, recent history,

18:41it feels like they rushed to this match. And we could have gotten here a better way. I would have said, you know, they need I think they could have gotten to this match tonight, but they didn't lead off the show with any kind of tension to get it. They kind of just sprung it up at the end. I understand why they rushed to it tonight because again, there's no time for a fucking build. But waiting till next week, you know, I would have been sitting here like, I don't know what a real champion is going for the paper review. We have coming up this month already. And I feel like they've already wasted a week getting to that story. So either way when it was already going to be a fucking issue of, it's too fast or it's not enough. And maybe at the end of the day, it's, you know, not their fault. Quoting quote is their fault because they booked this shit the way it is. But because it's so fucking close, there is no right way to get us to the fucking spot. We need to be for a paper view coming up in three fucking weeks. Yeah, I, I don't know. I am, I'm just very, I'm, I'm let down by the direction here.

19:46There's a lot of new Japan influence. And I, I, I'm sorry guys, I can't bring myself to give a single Iota of a fuck about anything new Japan. I, I just can't. I'm not invested in these guys. I don't care about these guys. They're only on TV because they will ospreys friends. They don't mean anything to AW. They don't mean anything to the overall storyline here. I don't care about the United Empire and the death riders and the dogs. Well, ospreys one of the best pro wrestlers on the face of the fucking planet. This guy should be in a storyline for his championship, defending his championship. The build for it moxley and ospreys is not going to be about the championship. It's not the death riders and the dogs and the United Empire. Everything's happening with these three factions. It's not going to be about the championship, which is why I personally feel with the promo. I'm JF cut tonight. He said his knees fucked up and that he's going to go away for a little bit. And he mentioned will osprey a handful of times in his promo. And he says he's going to come back.

20:46You don't know when you don't know how you don't know where. Says it could be on a dynamite could be on a collision could be on a pay per view. You don't know where he's going to get his and he's going to once again be the champion. And I said this on Sunday when I did the all in stream. I said this with Jason last night on TNT. MJF is going to be the champion again, whether it happens this month, whether it happens in October, wrestle dream, going into the new year. He's going to be the new world champion again. This is my prediction again. Don't don't take this as legitimate. MJF and you know, what what a coup it would be because you do realize that A W just announced Grand Slam France. And that's once again overseas and it'll be on the European tour again, going overseas for Grand Slam France. That's happening October 6th on Wednesday. What if MJF comes back and wants a championship match overseas? Against Will Osprey and he beats Will Osprey in France for the World Championship.

21:47Then on Friday's got the champion, the championship contract. He's got that contract. He won from the gauntlet match it all in. You can't have him wait months and months and months to cash in. You need to pay that off almost immediately. Why would he sit on that? If I win a championship contract, I want what's coming to me almost immediately, right? He's going to pick his spot. I think MJF's going to beat Will Osprey before the next couple of months. I think on Friday's going to cash in that contract on MJF and try to take the World Championship from MJF after MJF beats Will Osprey. And I think on Friday's going to fail and MJF is going to go right back to being the World Champion. If you listen to his promo, Jesse, he mentioned Osprey, he mentioned how people are jealous. He mentioned how people hate to commit to MJF being the best guy they got. He said it in his promo. He's the top guy. He's the star. He is the one man in the company that has approved and ratings draw. Everything he said is what we've been saying all year. You don't think that that company is going to end up putting the championship back on

22:50Mackaye, A3 just let everybody know exactly what the truth is. It's going to happen. And then come November when we get blood and guts, Osprey is not going to be the champion. Osprey, the death riders, the dogs, blood and guts. That doesn't need the World Championship to take place. And then you got this column Newman and Will Osprey situation going on. I feel like something's happening there. He wants a new United Empire, the old United Empire is like, what the fuck? Right? Whether you're not an empire, you're going to have another United Empire. So we can maybe get a spawned. You're not an empire AW versus United Empire, New Japan. So who knows where this storyline could be going, but that's where I think that's where my mind starts going. I feel like I feel like they just, they just like crown Osprey World Champion. He had his coordination and everything. They're not taking this title off of him anytime soon. Whether it's October, whether it's November, whether it's December, I mean, it's going to be, it's going to be six months or less.

23:50Yeah, I don't know. I don't, I don't see it. I don't see it happen. So I don't see MJF getting it back right away. So what does MJF do when it comes back to television? What does he do? Parade around with a fake ass title like he's been doing. I don't know. Do you think that's what he's worth? A mock CM punk cosplay CM punk? No, I fucking made it clear what he should be doing. And he should have been in the fucking world title match and all in with Will Osprey is what he should have been doing. But now that I don't know what the fuck they get planned for him to do, but they spent a lot of time building up to this Osprey big baby face mega moment, which is fun. Will Osprey is the guy. You know, he's awesome. They're not going to take the title off of him this soon. So they got to find something else for MJF to do. He was student with Andrade. He can do that. He can go figure that shit out, but they need more time for Osprey to be champion. They're probably going to give it to him. I don't know. That's the way I see things playing out. I there's got to be a reason why MJF was belittled to the gauntlet match.

24:52And I said this on Sunday, I think putting him in that match is fucking embarrassing for AW top guy in the company in the gauntlet match. And he had little to nothing to do with the show. He stepped aside there after being the top guy all year, stepped aside to have a minimal role at the biggest show of the year. You don't think that he stepped aside with some idea of, all right, I'll step aside, but I'm going to get mine when this guy gets his. We all know, we all know MJF knows how to play the game. I'm just, I'm just saying. I'm out there that thought process behind this build coming out of this build. And then what they're going to do in the near future, I'm so lost. It just makes no fucking sense. They are playing too much shuffling and moving around with the world title over the last few months. Like it, the more they keep bouncing around like that, the less value it has.

25:56That's universal that that every time you hot potato the fucking champion should like that. It not only hurts the title itself, but it hurts your whole main event scene. You know, I'm saying you, you need to establish a champion. Have him be champion. Give him interesting title matches and feuds. Make us believe he can lose that title and then have him lose it over time. I mean, this guy is champion, but now I'm going to make this guy champion so I can make that guy champion. And when this guy comes back from his injury, then I'm going to make him champion. And this guy has a contract. So soon I'm going to make him champion. What the fuck is going on? I don't know, bro. I don't know. I don't know. Fucking nerve wrecking. But we got Osprey and Moxley. I guess it's better than Osprey and Gabe Kid or Osprey and Ricochet. God forbid it was fucking ricochet. Can you imagine Ricochet and will spray it all out for the for the world championship? That would go right into the fucking bin of Tony Khan books and tears and will Osprey's got to get his fucking win as champion.

27:01First winning in in his defense against the poor Ricochet who can't win a fucking match himself and is giving a championship. I believe I'll lose it a week later. Right. I don't know. We'll get into what Osprey said in the open with the promo and MJF's promo kind of tied all together. Tecla Jess Tecla Jesse is back. Another one. Tecla's back. Mercedes had a celebration. She's now the women's champion. She's got a broken nose. She looks a little rough, but Tecla wants her title back Jesse and I thought broke Mercedes and Tecla on the night. My favorite segment of the entire show. They went at it. You felt the tension. It felt big. Tecla talked to big game and she stood up. Puffed her chest out. How to drink with Mercedes and she sounded fucking great doing it. I'm excited to see this match. If this is the direction for all out, I mean, I don't think Tecla's got a shot in the dark of winning the title back. But she does not. But man, we're going right to Tecla Mercedes.

28:03How do you feel about that? I don't like it because like you just said, she has no chance in the hell to win in that title. So she is walking into an instant automatic guarantee loss. Like right away, at least if they were to wait a while, it had been a little bit believable because she's been championful a little bit. Who believes they're going to take the title off of Mercedes in three weeks after winning. It's not so. This is the same fucking thing they did with the main event. Tecla should have been championed to go in and lose it to Mercedes. 100% MJ. I should have been championed, went in and then lost it to Will Osprey. 100% instead. They took the championship off of them to put it on temporary champions who then both left with injury. Only for Tecla to go away for five weeks to come back, build a match with Mercedes going into the next pay review and then lose.

29:03So my question to you now, Jesse, is a follow up when Tecla loses. What does Tecla do after she loses to Mercedes? So Tony blew through Willow and now he's going to blow through Tecla, which then will leave Mercedes without a true opponent. Unless Tony Storm comes back and we get a rerun of what we got last year because at that point, Mercedes would have beaten everybody in the division. There is nobody left. Yep. Tell me what I'm telling any lies, Tony. You got to separate Megan Bain from Lena Cross and give Megan Bain the singles run, which is what should have been done. So we may be on that road tonight, hopefully. It's just it's just so poorly booked. It is frustrating for a pay versus Mercedes again, Chad. Do you realize what happened when they last wrestled? It fucking sucked. Nobody wants to see that again. Come on. I don't know what they do. I hope I genuinely hope they get their shit together and figure this out because all of this moving

30:09shit around to try to get something we want and then trying to fix it right after it. It's some of the dumbest booking I've seen from a wrestling company in a while. You have established champions and you're going into the biggest row of the year. Why are we flip-flopping over to fucking temporary band-aid champions just so we can take the title and then thinks what you fucked up right after it. This is so dumb. You know, Jesse, the fact that you're saying that and listen to you speak, they actually had Tecla as the champion and 100% she should have went into the pay-per-view and lost to Mercedes. Because that she earned that rights. But Tony or mixture of people, what wanted Willow for Mercedes it all in. And I'm sticking to my guns. I don't give a shit who listens to this. I couldn't give a single fuck. I don't think Willow was initially hurt when she got pulled from the O and anyway. So they took her out and they had her vacate the TBS championship only to come back four weeks later

31:13when a fucking gauntlet match earn a shot against Tecla beat Tecla go to all in and then lose to Mercedes. But somewhere along the way Jesse because they made a dumb fucking move creatively. It bit them in the S and karma came out came back around and said, you know what karma is a bitch. Because Willow was pulled when she wasn't even hurt only to then break her hand and legitimately get hurt. So now that now they got nothing because you made the wrong move and karma said, you know what you want to fuck with me? You want to take the belt off Tecla? I'll show you, bitch. It's exactly what happened. It's not very smart, man. No. It literally makes no sense. It confuses you. You can't just make one little move to get what you want because when you make one move, you got to move this piece and then that piece you keep chopping that table leg until there's no fucking legs left. No. And the simplest answer was right in front of you. Sometimes you just got to tell people,

32:15you can't have exactly what you want. Not this time. We'll make it up to you. We'll do something else at a different time. But for the time being for what we have in front of us, this is the best card I can put forward. This is the car we're going to go with. I don't know. Looking back at it, what was wrong with Willow being the TBS champion going into all-in defending the title on the main show? It was nothing wrong with that. Nothing. I don't understand the decisions that this guy makes. I really don't. I don't know who's in his ear or who's not in his ear and someone needs to speak up there. Speaking of championships, we got to take team championship situation. I predicted this match would take place at all in we're waiting to all out. I got no problem with it. So it's a few weeks late. He excluded MJF. He said he asked to pinch himself because those guys were once his heroes. He says they've gone from his idols to his rivals. I am the standard now. I am the Billy goat. I am the best in the world. I am your AEW world champion. You just said he wasn't better than the guy. He just be. Bro, he contradicted himself two or three different times in his promo. He said Omega is the best wrestler in the world and then in the same breath, he says I am the best in the world. Who wrote this shit? He says if you want to take, what happened? What's the which one is it? I don't know. He says you want to take it from him.

40:54You'll need to walk through the same fire. He went through. He gave a shout out to his boys and he listed the United Empire. He says they picked him up when he went down there and no one he wanted in his corner else, but those guys. He says he wanted to create the same opportunities in AEW. So he's going to bring the United Empire to AEW. All of a sudden Rick O'Shea walked to the stage with Bishop Con and Toliana. He interrupted Osprey and said everybody thinks he's there to reign on his parade. He said he couldn't be further from the truth. Rick, I say they have unfinished business because they are forever intertwined. Yes, that would make sense if you actually went out there and want to match. So no, you're not forever into twine. You got to be a winner to be intertwined with Will Osprey. He says he'd have to be dead inside to not acknowledge that what Omega and Osprey did at all in was spectacular. What'd you make of their debut on Sunday? To be honest with you, no notes. I thought they looked great. They are over his shit right away crowds. Still in them. I like their look. The name is fine. It might sound weird, but I want to remind everybody when the new day was announced, they all said that would stupid. It'll grow on you. They look happy. These men look so fucking happy. I don't remember seeing in this happy in a long ass time. Probably since they were of the three of them were together and a new day just started. Woods and and Kofi look very fucking happy. I love the fact that they came up with a name that keeps the rhythm of the old chance going like new day sucks, new day rocks. It's new level. So whoever thought of that, whoever came up with that and settled on that man, fucking genius. I love it. So the only thing I didn't like about this, this was fun. I love all I love all six of these guys. The only thing I didn't like about this is that the new level for a new day, you know, they are tag team specialists. They they are fucking great at what they do. And automatically you put them in a six man party match where it's just frenetic high flying all over the place. No rhyme or reason. It's like, bro, can we get these guys situated and just kind of ease them into what's going on here? You know, I understand there's a lot of energy and there's a lot of excitement around them being here. But do we want them to look like AEW and wrestle like AEW or do we want them to come on

48:21and just do them, which I always say if it's not broken, there's no need to fix it, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know I feel like they are probably getting to do what they wanted to do. There's no shortage of of of rivalries and and and feuds and programs for the new level. There's no there's no shortage of them. So let's get to the bucks, you know, get to E and C, you know, we got FTR, you know, some of these guys they've already had feuds with, you know, but nonetheless, now we get to see them on a more wrestling based level rather than a comedic level. I'm I'm into it, man. I mean, could they have done things a little bit different, a little bit slower, taking a little, yeah, yeah, sure, they possibly could have, but they probably want to jump right into the shit and they're going straight into it with a TLC match. Can they not say TLC? I know, I think it's trademarked. Is it? You can't say the letters TLC? I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised, bro. It's WWE. I mean, you could say the long way,

49:27the long version, tables, ladders and chairs. But even then he had to see it in a different order. Gonna be chairs, tables and landers here. I don't know. I don't know who the fuck knows with WWE. Yeah, this this was fun. There was a couple of, it was a couple spots here. X caliber didn't know what to call the trust die from Kofi. He didn't know what to call trouble and paradise. I guess not trouble and paradise anymore. And then the midnight hour of the finish, they didn't know what to call that either. It was a great spot by Myron Reed who, who dove through the ropes and he did like a DDT and a horror carana at the same time on Swurve and one of the, one of the new level guys. I don't know if it was Kofi or Xavier. One fluid motion. Unbelievable, man. Yeah, we've almost been creating Swurve. Head scissors and DDT combo. Unbelievable. So the end saw Desmond landed a roll and kick to Kofi. And Swurve got

50:33a wence with a run and kick from the apron, new level delivered Desmond with a double team, which was the midnight hour. Swurve landed the house call and Kofi got the one two three. So the champions retain the trio's championships over the rascals. So I would have preferred to hear from them and have them cut a promo and let us know how they're feeling, why they're here. Kind of thought you fuck with the fans for a little bit, but I don't, I don't know. I guess, I guess they don't really, they don't really agree with talents coming over cutting a promo. Like if anybody was coming over and it was allowed to cut a promo, those two guys should be given microphone time. We'll get there. They already had a fucking 20 minute overrun. I mean, that doesn't mean that doesn't mean we needed to see a.r. Fox and John Moxley time for 10 minutes. Why did that match have to happen? I don't understand it. So anyway, after the match was over, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson walk on out as the new level of walking up the aisle and they

51:37came out and looked at the trio's championships. So it's either they're teasing a trio's match with box and a partner to be named against swerve and the new level or we are getting a tease for a box new level tag team match when the box win the tag team titles. So take your pick. I don't know. And if it was a trio's match, hangman would make the perfect sense because hangman swerve box at new level. I mean, it just makes sense. So who do they actually get if it is a trio? Kenny doesn't seem to fit, right? He should. It should be the it should be Kenny in the box versus new level and swerve. I guess Kenny and swerve had something going on. All right, they could really they could always revisit that right? Yeah, I don't know. I don't know what kind of health Kenny Omega is in right now. Yeah, plus you got the Xavier and Kenny tie and yeah, I think that makes sense. Yeah, that doesn't. I'm thinking about hangman. I'm like hangman swerve. That's what I'm going for because I love what they got. But hangman's already in a trio. He's with

So the boxer out there that caught a promo match, Aksan says that can't complain about being cheated since he and Nick have done worse. He acts of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage really needed to be to beat us that way. He acts if they were satisfied with how they won. Matt told them to get the rest is to the ring and tell them that they're happy with how it went instead. FTR and Stokely Hathaway came out. Stokely looked a little bit more office like Jesse. He's a little bit more professionally. He's got the the suit and tie now or the shirt and tie and he's got no tracksuit. Yeah, like he's been hanging out with shea to. I mean, you beat to tell me that that that's playing video games. Stokely likes dipping his hand in the bag of the readers while playing some calls. Do he's what he's saying, right? I don't know what the hell Stokely's been doing. Doing his downtime, man, but I know, man, he's been hanging out with shea.

53:42Stokely said that they blew it at revolution. They blew it at Wembley and now they want to do it for a third time. They discussed him. Daxed all the fans of Texas to do their best to keep up with him. FTR said they defeated the bucks and they've defeated Copen Christians so the bucks should take a step back. Nick says it's true. FTR beat them, but they've also beat FTR. He says what they never did was say I quit like FTR did or like FTR did. Copen and Christian come on out to the stage. Christian said he satisfied with their victory on Sunday. They don't ask how you won. They ask who won. I mean, it's true. Doesn't matter how you got it done. You got it done, right? Very true, bro. Very, very true. He said people say they're the old guys, past their primes, but they are the AWT 18 champions. He said FTR and the bucks should have been more embarrassed. He says he's not, he says he's surprised. They're not considering willingly taking a 50% pay cut to go somewhere else rather than getting embarrassed by them again.

54:47Shots fired. See, that's the type of shots fired we need on television. That's fire. Yet again, that's nothing that triple H has any control of. He's not he's not running the fucking books. I think this is going to be one of those matches that people go out of the way to go watch on September 25th. Yes. This will I feel like this is going to be a bigger draw than the main of it. Yeah. This is seeing the new they are the new level in the ring with the books has been a fantasy match for a lot of people for a lot of years, including those four guys, including them. They are they've always been great friends and they finally now get to compete on television in a high profile match on the paper view and it's going to be fun. And Roday congratulated Osprey and Ospreys said, all right, let's go. So on Friday now is I guess a honorary member of the United Empire. How you know? How you know? You know, I'm surprised he didn't say how you know. How you know? Darby Allen. Jesse's favorite Darby Allen, New TNT champion. He defended the chair right to the open challenges. Look just like I predicted. Just like we talked about last Wednesday too. Man, I can't wait for Darby to win so we get open challenges. First one up is Mark Davis. Going right back to the Don Callis family. He beat one Don Callis family member for the title

57:56and now he's got to go wrestle the rest of the Don Callis family riveting television, riveting I tell you. The chip hell. Jesse this match was bell to bell 10 minutes. The only problem is the bell didn't ring until the first 12 minutes of the match took place around ringside and in the arena and in the stands and then they fought back to ringside for the match to go total of 22 minutes. This had two commercial breaks, bro. Yes. Any any any thoughts on this match that's totally and completely did not need to happen tonight. It did not. I'm not mad that it happened though. It didn't need to happen but I'm always happy to see Darby on my CD but they spent way too much time. Way too much time on a dynamite that already had a 20 minute overrun. It didn't need. They could have picked one section

59:01and dealt with and just rolled with that. Keep it in the ring or kept it outside. Leave it outside and just get it into the ring and then end it. It went way too long. It shouldn't have gone this long but I'm not mad at the match itself. Darby is a champion and you did this open challenge whatever I get your shit in but it will way too long. Yeah. I the fact that a this is an open challenge. B is defending the championship against someone who's not going to beat him and see the Don Callis family. I mean you put that in a blender and that's a recipe for I don't give it shit. I don't understand why we're going to write that. We just saw this with his world title run. Now we got to see it all over again with the TNT time and this is not the first time he's been TNT champion. He did this the last time. But how many open challenges I get it's the television title. I get it. But at some point we got to say enough is enough enough. Open challenge is is code for we don't have any active feuds or stories. No. No. This is exactly what it is. We're lazy and we

1:00:04we're just too lazy to come up with an angle or a storyline to give this guy any real meat on the bone. That's that's all it needs. So at the end of this Darby wins at about 20 minutes 10 to 10 of which was official 10 of 10 plus was not as they brought into the crowd. So Darby got some offense at ringside. They both came into the ring late in the match Darby hit two coffin drops as Mark Davis laid there. He then went after Darby Davis gave Darby a leaping pile of driver. He also gave one to Steve Borden as well. And that was the way

1:01:06the segment came to a close. So it looks like Jesse they are incorporating Steven Borden into the Don Callis family vortex with Darby Allen. That's fine. I'm actually not mad at that. Not everybody needs to be in a Don Callis family. But there are some people who would be just fine there for right now. I think many Sting fits. That's perfectly fine. I like that they have not really given him any kind of like face paint or outfit like his dead yet. I would give him some kind of story or some kind of angle or something like that where he has to earn his fucking face paint. You know, he just can't be, you know, I'm staying son and just give me a give me. It would be awesome to let him go like this for quite some time. It didn't eventually work into his father, you know, finally giving him the face paint and he comes out just like his dead will get there. But he looks great, man. I want to see how he works in a match, but he looks pretty damn good so far.

I don't know what their plan is for him, but it looks like we may be on the verge of his first official match in AWS. MJF. Yeah, what are you going to see what he does? MJF, who was backstage after the Gauntlet match at Wimbley Stadium, typical after a major pay preview, MJF backstage promo on the fallout episode of Dynamite because he's not there. He's probably in his, his huge eight million dollar mansion on Long Island somewhere. MJF backstage said losing a match, I wasn't even supposed to be in. He says he had to win the contract, so he could go on and prove he's the one true champion. He ran to that. There's no star in AWS more important than him, including Osprey. And then he says there is payback coming to Will Osprey and he won't see it coming. He said fans will be on the edge of their seats since you could happen on a dynamite. It could happen on a collision or it could happen on a pay

1:03:10preview. He said when the real world champion finally hands out some payback, you're going to be begging for it. He's done this before. He goes, he gives up the title. He goes away for a little bit, only to come back and then win it again. How is he going to earn the championship match against Osprey when he does come back as the question? Is he going to cry that he got cheated at beach break? I mean, that's a possibility. Is he going to have to go through some trials and tribulations and earn a shot against Will Osprey or is Osprey going to be dumb enough to be a babyface champion and give him a champion championship match because he's a fighting champion. Yep. That's good. Is that the way they're going to do it? Probably. Now, now, what is going to be, do you know something? I don't know what about their freebing in regards to what? Is he going to eat? I mean, how long is going to be gone for? I don't know. I don't know how long he's going to be gone for. But I tell you why I'm going to say this is just me. This is not news. I haven't talked to him.

1:04:14I don't talk to him. I don't know anything. But the knee injury, I've talked to people who are kind of in the know and I trust those people. MJF is not hurt. MJF is using the knee injury as a way to get him off television because let's be honest, if MJF is on television, what the fuck is MJF? You a top guy doing if he's not doing top guy things. If I'm MJF, I'm pulling the same card. All right, I'll come up with a fucking injury, quote unquote, pull myself off television and wait to come back when my time is ready to win the championship back. That's a legitimate situation. What would you have him doing if he's on television right now? When television doesn't call for MJF, well, there's nothing for him to do. That is the job of creative to tell me. Well, there is no creator. Creative is Tony. That is, that is the problem. I don't man. I can't imagine a universe where I can't find something for Maxwell Jacob Freeman to do on my TV if it's not in the main. I'll find something. It's not a fact. Isn't it sitting right there in

1:05:20front of us? He's already in a few with somebody who is already in the main event picture. Well, he just few one and Roddy. Listen, you think about this long enough. MJF is a fucking genius because if he held the championship like we all wanted him to go into Wembley and then lost, what is there for him to do on television? You do realize this is prolonging his status on television because he's about to go away. He lost the title only to come back and do the Gauntlet match, play up an angle with Andrade Wade. He didn't win the Gauntlet match only to then now go away and cry that he's the real world champion got cheated only to come back and win it again. He's going to win the title again and then drop it to whoever he feels should be the next champion. That's exactly what's going to happen here. He prolonged his his status on television because if he went into Wembley's the champion and lost, we'd be right here on this Wednesday saying, what's MJF going to do when he comes back?
