3:02It is Thursday, also known as Friday Eve September 3rd. I'm Amy Robock. And on TJ Holmes, you just remind me, it does not feel like the holiday weekend coming up. Why? Because we're working so much. Yes. Yes, this Lindsay Clancy trial. Yes, it's a day six of deliberations and nobody thought we'd get to this, but it's been drawing out every day and keeping everybody kind of glued, waiting for something to happen and some stuff has been happening. Just not the stuff we were expecting to happen like. I don't know, a verdict. A verdict. So yeah, maybe that's what it feels like. I don't know. Maybe the rest of the country we've had, I guess we've got bad rain, we've had some flooding, we've got, I don't know. We've been focused on everything, but relaxing as a nation. Right. So maybe that's what we can do over the next couple of days. Okay. So yes, folks, we do have a big holiday weekend coming up, wherever you may be. Hope you're getting off to a good start on this Friday Eve. We're going to be making a number of stops today in Minneapolis and Jackson, Mississippi,

4:02where we're making a stop at the Oval Office at the Democratic Republic of Congo. Also a couple of stops in Southern California, but let's start roads where we have for, I mean, this is the sixth week of this trial, and it is wrapping up there in Massachusetts. I've said several days today has to be it, baby. Well, and it's funny. I hadn't even thought about the fact that we're up against Labor Day weekend, which makes it all the more likely that there will be some sort of resolution. If not today, certainly by tomorrow, the jury is returning, though, this morning for, can you believe it? Day six of deliberations in the Lindsey Clancy trial jurors told the judge for a second time yesterday. They are deadlocked and don't believe they will be able to come to a unanimous decision. But after they told the judge that for the second time, he told them to go back again, but this time he gave them a special instruction. This is meant to give guidance for reaching consensus, sent them back to continue their deliberation.

5:02They've been at it as we start this morning. How many hours? Look, by most accounts, they say just shy of 30, 29 hours. Give or take a few. That's where the latest count is. So it'll start back up this morning. And we'll keep an eye. So as we nine o'clock, they have not been starting on time, really throughout. There's always some issue of some kind that delays, but nine o'clock, they're supposed to be back in there and he's going to send them back at it, robed that they go. I guess it followed kind of a pattern when they wrapped up. They seemed like they slept on it a couple of nights and then they came in, took a vote and then came back pretty quickly at something to say. So we shall see. But yesterday we also found out a lot more about the woman who was arrested for allegedly trying to take pictures of the jury. Well, turns out there's a whole lot more to it than that. Don Light. Yes, that is her name made a court appearance where prosecutors revealed that light actually had video of the jurors on her phone when she was confronted by police this week. She had put it in her deleted files, but she did not outsmart police.

6:05They found it pretty quickly. And yes, she parked her car in a restricted parking lot behind the courthouse in an area that is off limits to the public and the press. She claimed though she wasn't there to take video of the jurors. Yeah, she just wanted to see Lindsey. Lindsey, who was just turned to damn TV on. She said she wanted to see Lindsey was trying to get a picture that was not a Lindsey clancy picture on her phone by the way. She is facing pretty serious charge of jury intimidation. She was released though has no criminal record as a mother of retired nurse who had been in the area and the scene afterwards wrote was maddening and hilarious at times. Yes, she was running but like smiling and laughing at the same time and intermittently speaking to the press who also appeared to be laughing as they were running backpedaling as we call it. Why are you running? Why are you running? It was a silly scene that played out but it just this sound it robs. I don't know what she was going to do with that video but by all accounts of what they described yesterday.

7:07Thank goodness this was stopped and they have put restrictions. She's not supposed to disseminate anything she might have but robs just to think there's video somebody had video of the jury. Of the juries and look she is facing as you pointed out serious serious charge or so it is no laughing matter Don Light. All right next up on the run Iran launched new attacks on US targets in the region last night. This follows days of strikes by the United States states which started over the weekend and certainly represented the first fighting in that area in a month. Iran claims most recent US strikes hit a wedding party killing two women and two children the US responded to that saying of course they do not target target civilians but they are looking into that matter. I hope this is disturbing that we wake up every day and now we hear about new strikes new strikes new strikes after we went a month with none of that but according to the president no talks are ongoing so oil prices are hovering a little higher gas prices are ticking up at this moment. All right next up on the run police got into a shootout with the suspect at a high rise

8:12in downtown Minnesota. This was such a frightening. Minneapolis my apologies. That was Minneapolis. Oh Minneapolis and I should have caught that. But yes this was a frightening and disturbing scene so we know this morning three people are dead. Several others are injured including three police officers and the shooter this suspected shooter is also among the dead. They do not. I took going to police know how the shooter died they're looking into that so don't know if he was self inflicted or police actually got him it essentially is the question. Police were called to this high rise apartment building set officers followed the sound of gunshots eventually got into a gun fight with the suspect two officers were shot another had unspecified injuries but all three are expected to make full recoveries police aren't saying a motive but local affiliates are reporting robes who this person is and was known to police and someone who was just evicted from the building and was supposed to be getting out very very. Yeah and it's a confusing scene because there were there was apparently some haze that

9:14police were encountering some substance in the air that actually affected some officers as well so they're not even really sure what the scene was like inside or how this all unfolded but certainly we expect some more answers today. But next up on the run this one caught your eye baby yesterday you were freaking out you gave some perspective to the situation but the NBA has issued the largest fine in league history to the Los Angeles Clippers that find thirty million dollars. This is awful. Awful for the league awful for this team but they came down hard on the Clippers after a year long investigation into allegations that the team was getting around salary cap rules by promising star Kawaii Leonard money outside of his NBA contract. I guess that's that is the best way to put it but wrote there are rules in the NBA every team has to you can spend the same amount of money it's called a salary cap if you go over that you get penalized so you can only paste your players so much money.

10:18So they brought him to the team gave him a contract to pay him this money but they wanted to give him more to sweeten the deal so they went to outside companies and said hey we'll put you in touch with these companies and you can have partnerships and brand partnerships and they will give you some more endorsement money. So you're getting a bigger package even though it's not officially coming from us. Robes that is flat out cheating that is the worst kind of cheating for this league. You cannot have that this is as bad as it gets. So in addition to the Clippers being fined thirty million dollars the owner Steve Balmer is suspended from all team activities for a full year and the team is losing five first round draft picks. Robes that is crazy. This team is going to be at the bottom of the league for a while. You can't five first round picks. Robes that's how you build your team get the first round pick getting the best players. They came to drop that hammer on you and we were I was actually asking you yesterday what

11:20about the actual player Kawaii Leonard and you said TBD well we now know he too is being fined seven hundred thousand dollars. They could have avoided his contract they didn't do worse he gave some apologies said I'd learn some lessons blah blah blah but this is a bad one for the league robes. I continue on the run here now disturbing update yesterday from health officials about the ongoing Ebola outbreak and the Democratic Republic of Congo they have now confirmed nearly sixty two hundred cases and get this just over three thousand are deaths. That's a fifty percent death rate that is so frightening and this is now the worst outbreak in the history of the Democratic Republic of Congo and one of the fastest moving it was declared a global emergency in May but it's believed that it might have been spreading for weeks before it was identified and that is why health officials say they cannot catch up. I also read that the African Centers for Disease Control they believe the numbers that we just gave you sixty two hundred cases over three thousand deaths they say you could

12:20probably triple those numbers that's the actual number that they're dealing with right now triple the official count. They say they're so behind in this thing and these are war torn regions so you can't get a lot of well we're burning down medical tents and whatnot you got workers on the move and its kids are not going to be going back to school or suppose to robes and wonder how that's going to have an impact so it doesn't look like this thing is slowing down anytime soon continuing on the run here now robes are really really needed this news. Yes you did you were worried. Robes I was not feeling good yesterday but we got word Lionel Richie is at least home rove I was because we weren't getting solid updates and we were hearing you just went in for precautions and then day after day he's still in the hospital so this is good to hear. Yeah we heard first mild dehydration and then we started hearing like cardiac issues and that's a big difference so the legendary singer had checked himself into a hospital after his concert over the weekend in St. Louis he actually had to sit down while he was singing all night long and official updates as you mentioned babe have been few and far

13:25between but now yes we are hearing from multiple outlets that he has made it back home and is recovering and you know when you're of a certain age you just anytime you hear about hospitalization that can go from bad to worse very quickly. He's 77 right yeah he just looks so good and he's so active all the time I guess we don't register yes this is a 77 year old guy who is really really active and wearing really really tight leather pants. I knew you were going to get that in there. He was great for it. He was great for it. He was like that leather doesn't breathe he needs to wear some more cotton. Zara makes some Y-Lick stuff that's awesome. Alright folks we'll stay with us on this Friday Eve run we've got some pretty exciting news about who might be making a comeback at the Olympics also some sad news one of the absolute greatest jazz singers of all time has passed away at the age of 70 also coming up the president has finally chimed in on what he thinks about Harry and Megan leaving

14:26the U.S. and somebody wants their 70 thousand dollars worth of beer back and they're willing to pay 20 thousand dollars for it. When I was 14 years old I was kidnapped and health captive for nine months. I survived and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. That's that's just a scoring air and what's the delay? I that's what I don't get like to keep on the decision who has your distinction and this one wins. And then that one says no, it's that kind of just a mess. Anyway, she's still fighting for that bronze. This is cool, Rob. She's going to be back for the Olympics in 2028. She ups. Yeah. The way she put it, she put it up on Instagram LA 2028. Why not? So that's pretty exciting.

20:34Yes, she won team gold in Paris and will maybe find out about the bronze when she's fighting for gold. Wouldn't that be funny? She finally gets the bronze around the time. I love it. I love it. This is she's one of the biggest personalities. The talent is off the charts, but she has good energy. She does. Awesome, Jordan Childs. We're excited about that. But next up on the run, the woman once named America's best singer by Time magazine has passed away and way, way too early. She was too young for this. Jazz Legend Cassandra Wilson died in her hometown of Jackson, Mississippi, surrounded by her loved ones, according to a statement by her rep. She's a two time Grammy winner. And by the way, those two Grammys were for best jazz album, actually, but she was known for a unique and unmistakable voice in which she was able to bend and blend genres. Again, Rob, 70 years old. You hear that and go, what the actual hell? That's young. That is so young. But no cause of death has been released. But the, I mean, everybody by John Batista and folks of that ilk are the outpouring of messages for her passing.

21:39But 70 years old, no cause of death. But she has gotten some of the highest honors that jazz musicians can get. She is, she is worth note. All right. Next up on the run, President Trump was asked yesterday. This is a funny question. But it elicited a, an answer that is memorable. He was asked how he felt about Harry and Meghan leaving the United States and heading back to the UK. Now, what would you think he would? I know you know the answer here now, but I'm thinking what would I think he would say? I would have thought he would have been more kind. I didn't realize he had such ill feelings about the two. I'm actually a little shocked that he actually has feelings about the two. But you know how he feels about King Charles. That's true. I guess. But it's King Charles's son. And regardless, I think as a father, you know, you are always, almost always willing to forgive just about anything because we want a relationship with our children. So I would have thought as a parent, he would have understood

22:39this. But yes, he was asked what he thought about them leaving. And he said, I'm happy about it. And not in the good way that you would think. Like what I just mentioned, like, oh, maybe they can reunite and maybe they can repair some damage. I'm happy to go. No. He said, I thought they treated the royal family with great disrespect. I didn't like it. I didn't like the way she acted. I thought she was terribly disrespectful to the queen to King Charles. Maybe I'm different. I wouldn't have taken them back. If I were the royal family, I would not have taken him back. Wow. I mean, I guess that's a warning to his children. Behave, Baron. You'd better kiss the ring or else. I mean, you do that. I'm going to say, well, yeah, he does. He has a great affinity for King Charles. He wants to be photograph next to him. He wants to be viewed as that type of thing. I'm not making that up. It's clear. Look at his social media. Oh, my goodness. We just saw his face on a golden coin.

23:42So yes, very kinglike of him. All right. Last stop on the run here now. Perhaps Blue Ribbon is offering $20,000 in a reward to anybody who can help them get their beer back ropes. This is ridiculous. So this got away with 1,600 cases of beer from a distribution center in Southern California. The heights involved the suspects using forged documents. We've seen a lot of this. And it works. Yeah. They have forged documents like pull up with an official looking truck. Then they are posing as someone. Yeah, we got a beer pickup at the warehouse. Got to make this delivery. And load them up. Yeah. They loaded up with the help of workers and then ultimately just stole and drove off with $70,000 worth of beer. Yeah. The CEO of Papua Ribbon. He did put a head. I was in social media. And this was his line. I'm sure they look cool with a garage full of PBR. But he says we want our stuff back.

24:43And so I guess it's kind of hard to hide all of that beer. So if someone knows that someone just packed their garage full of this PBR. Baby, what do you do with it? I don't know. They must have like a storage unit somewhere. Baby, no, no, no. Is there a market for it? Like how do you go so? Maybe it's like time supply. Perhaps Blue Ribbon on a secondary market? There's a market for that beer. Like is there some fine bourbon or something? What? I don't know. Or is this somebody that just wants it at the house? Just stocked up. PBR, don't they prefer Nomalwalky's best as the beast? I was trying to remember all the beer that I drank in college. I just remember Cole 45. The commercial from Ville de works every time. It's what he uses. Yes, I do. PBR, PBR. It's a lyric in many a country music song, or at least a Jimmy Buffett song, I think, is coming to mind. Or is it Zach Brown Band? He has PBR in one of his lines. It's not what you just... I'm trying to think of this song. OK, go ahead and take a look. All right, all right. Quote of the day, everyone.

25:46How about this? The magic in your childhood wasn't because you were a child. It was because you were living in the present. Which is something only a child can do, usually. No, I get that. But we can focus on being more like that, literally smelling the roses, appreciating the little things. I'm not in a good way, because I'm totally challenging your quote. It's supposed to be a nice thing, and I'm totally... Yeah. I'm taking it the wrong way. Which way are you taking it? Because a child can do that, because they can be worry-free, because they don't have any worries. They don't have any concerns. We can choose that. They don't have any worries. But we have things that kids don't have. True. I'm being... Oh, yeah. You're right. I'm being ridiculous. This is stupid to make an argument on a beautiful quote. Well, I guess I feel like the point is, yes, we do have those things, but we can list them and compartmentalize them, and still choose to be in the present, and choose because worrying doesn't change things. No thing. Obviously we know that intellectually, and we have to remind ourselves. So the magic in your childhood wasn't because you were a child. It was because you were living in the present.
