This is the Lockdown Podcast Network celebrating 10 years of your team every day. That feeling when you're trying to build your credit and it's like over and over again. Good news. Chase Credit Journey can help you with a personalized score improvement plan provided by Experian. So when you still need that credit built, you have the guidance you need. You can even get a Chase Secure Banking account with no monthly service fee if you're 17 to 24 years old. Hallelujah. This tool is for education purposes and doesn't guarantee you'll reach your credit score goal. The score you receive uses Vantage score 3.0 model and may not be the model used by Lenders, member FDIC. This year's girls' trip to tell you where I was the best. We won up ourselves with my Sapphire preferred card and with five times points on Chase travel plus three times points on vacation homes with top brands, we got this incredible cabin. It was a mansion. And with three times the points on dining, we ordered a Wagyu steak dinner. And that pistachio gelato was too good. So, where should we go next year?

I've got ideas. Chase Sapphire preferred. The card that's preferred for a reason. This is the Tigers Postcast. Your instant game reaction for the Detroit Tigers. Part of the Lockdown podcast network. Your team every day. What a day at the ballpark for the Detroit Tigers to find a way to get a win. That's what a big league ball club looks like. They score some runs. Even the ballpen gets a couple of hours. The defense turns a number of double plays. Four of them to be exact. And the Tigers take the first game of the series on a Labor Day at Comaric Apart. Welcome one. Welcome all five four win. And this is your live Lockdown Tigers post game show. I'm your host Jake Reapma, formerly with 971 to ticket the Detroit Tigers flagship radio station now with the Lockdown podcast network.

Your team every day. Make sure you like and subscribe. And before we go any further, how about a huge shout out to today's presenting sponsor on Labor Day. Today's episode is brought to you by CalShi. That's all right for a limited time. Download the CalShi app and use that code Lockdown L-O-C-K-E-D-O-N Lockdown to get $10 when you trade 10. CalShi trade on anything. We got a fun show lined up victory victory. And all the Tigers won on Saturday. I was out that day. It feels like it's been forever since I've done a victory post game show. Riley Green and Kevin McGonagall, both home wearing great to see Riley Green swinging that hot bat. The only thing that ruined today is the motor city connect uniforms. I thought we were done with them. We're not quite done with them. But the defense turns four double plays the bullpen. Hey, hung in there and pitched around a ton of traffic. As always, your comments are welcome. Happy to mix in the best comments all throughout the course of today's post game show up our

biggest talking point, our turning point and our player of the game. Yeah, we're doing a player of the game. It's been forever. So let's just kick it off right away with the biggest thing about today. This is what you'll be talking about. This is the type of game. If you like me, it's going to leave you scratching your head a little bit because this is the Detroit Tigers baseball team we thought we had for the 2026 campaign. I probably sound like a broken record. But remember in the month of June when they're playing really good baseball and even before the wheels fell off in May. And I just said many, many times that this team was built to win games. And the bullpen being the weakest part of your team, you're only as strong as your weakest link, that old cliche. But when they actually can just have a pulse and help the team win, this is the result. And I know you play 162 of these and you're going to win some games close and ultimately

by default. And you're going to lose a lot of close games. But we all know the staff. The Tigers lead the entire league and blown saves and you just couldn't close out games. But this was the example of how the season could have been different. Had they been able to close out games and it's not like the bullpen was great. I mean, what they they walked four batters and plunked another and gave up the two runs in the six. No, I beg your pardon. That was what's his name was still pitching at that point. And then he's probably mountain, but he still gets the win because he left with the eight four lead at five and two thirds for him. Seven hits four earned runs. He struck out three. But everybody, Kenley comes in and pitches around some traffic, Wages back, same thing. I mean, summers, you have the crazy ricochet play and he still is able to get out of it. And then Kenley Jansen gets his 18th save of the and I'm not here to sing the praises of the bullpen because again, it wasn't it wasn't like it was clinic work.

By any means, but they did enough to get the job done and the offense had a little bit of a pulse and you get the Tigers in the win column. But want to know what you have to say about this one is well. A sort of a five one one. The fact that you know the Tigers play today should tell you all you need to know. I know. I know a lot of us feel that way. Dmitrius McNeil one three two seven. Tigers may get the win, but the strikeouts has killed the team. Oh well, onto the next game. Did I mention that week one is finally coming off that's right. The long awaited return of the NFL is on the horizon very near. In fact, on Sunday, the Lions kick it off against the New Orleans Saints. But I'll say this about the strikeouts. What an 11 of them today 17 yesterday. So of course, of course. And don't take the beginning portion of this program is me singing their praises and home. Ha the Tigers wins. See how great this team is. No, of course, it's not like that is September 7. We got a team that's so far out of the race.

We got a team. The wheels have already fallen off. But I said this and I actually appreciate everybody's comments. I believe it was after Sunday's game. Yeah, it was just after Sunday's game saying, you know, that appreciate me for and I'm paraphrasing here, but keeping it real. And I always insist on keeping it real. I think especially in I'm sorry, I'm going off on a tangent here. But in my roots of sports talk radio, if you don't keep it real, I mean, you get laughed out of the studio. So I know this is a little bit different, but there's obviously a lot of similar parallels in comparisons to draw that always be real. Like today, if you're going to sit down and watch this team and if you love baseball as much as I know everybody does that's listening to this and I do, you're just going to you're going to take a day like today, even when your team is so far out of it. And you just appreciate the guys turning four double plays, the bullpen battling up there, Riley Green being the leader that you know, he can be in the bright spot of a young Kevin McGonacall who continues to show all promises and if he's not the rookie, he will

be. It will be the American league rookie of the year. But let's go ahead and keep it rolling. We've got one to get into how about our turning point. Time to reveal where the game was once or last. If the turning point. I tell you what, the turning point in this one multiple times the Tigers relief pitchers battling and there's this is one of those games that had the all the pieces to the puzzle where if one of those pieces isn't there, of course, you don't have the complete puzzle and in this case the victory for the Tiger. So yes, you need Riley Green's home run offensively unique Kevin McGonacall's home run and Colt Keith getting bean with the bases, the bases loaded. So it's all things work together, but this game continued to turn and you felt like we've seen this episode a hundred times. We've seen this episode where we three times in Cleveland in four game in four games, man, where the bullpen cannot hold a lead.

So the fact that there are multiple instances where it felt like the twins, I mean, it felt like the twins did. They had traffic on the bases and the Tigers bullpen still held. Again, I'm not singing their praises. They walked for and being to another. It wasn't clinic work, but they got the job done. And that's exactly, Andrew Summers is the one that I think of because he's had nothing down season and say what you will about him. He's got the good swing and mess stuff he always has. And I just, I'm not ready to close the book on him yet for the future of this organization. We'll see. It's one day. It's Labor Day. I've got our player of the game coming up next as well as your comments. Don't go anywhere. It's a lockdown Tigers post game show. Make sure you check out locked on Tigers every day with Scott Bentley and like and subscribe because we're bringing you all kinds of daily Tigers content. Post game show live after every game and of course for the everydayers that deep dive with Scott Bentley Jackie P or Jack Pleski. I apologize if I butchered that but wow that was a save forgot that was it is kind of I can only laugh because I feel the exact same way Jack I feel your brother but let's do it. We haven't done this in ages. It's time for our player of the game. This is the locked on player of the game. Because they've just been so egregiously bad over the last you know better than a month. I'll say and Tiger has been the worst team since early August in all baseball. I'm inclined to give it just the bullpen as a whole but Riley green deserves some flowers

as well for his performance offensively. He gets the two run bomb and I believe for Riley green the home run is his 19th of the season and Kevin McGonagall getting his 15th of the season in the first inning but Riley green great performance. They also mentioned he played well in the field as well. So it's just everybody gets player of the game because we can keep everybody happy right. Tiger's beat the twins by a final score of five to four on a labor day at Comarica Park. Diggers are going to finish up the homestand at Comarica Park with two more against the Minnesota twins tomorrow night 641 pitch drew Anderson on the bump and we have a nice little day game action 110 first pitch on Wednesday cater Montero taking the mound and I said finish up the homestand I'm an idiot. I meant there will be a little bit of an off day in between because the Colorado Rockies come to town for the weekend starting Friday night. So yes the Tigers are still at home.

Don't listen to me. Don't listen to him. He's in the loose. That being said, hey, great to see the Detroit Tigers. That was a rookie of the year reference. If anybody was following, don't listen to him. Hank is a loser. Chuck Steadman. I'm so sick of hearing about Chuck Steadman. Oh, bring me that arm. Somebody just threw a frozen rope from the bleachers to home plate. That's got to be over 400 feet. Okay. Enough of the rookie of the year quoting one of my all time favorite movies. If you can't tell, I can quote it on and on and on. Brickwell, I mean, that guy is a 10 out of 10 character. I just covered the secret ice. I heat up the ice cubes. It's the best of all fours. All right, Tigers beat the Minnesota twins and take the first game of the series. Five for the final in this one. Troy Melton gets his eighth win of the season. And how about Kenley Jansen, 18th save of the season? That number should be a little bit higher. It's got a few blown saves for that. All right. So today, thanks as always for tuning in. Always a pleasure to be on the air. Have a wonderful rest of your day. Enjoy the rest of your labor day.

And we'll talk to you next time on the lockdown Tigers postcast. Goodbye. A big thank you to our friends at Amazon for this limited break. This back to school season spin less on your kids with Amazon. Now we all know how crazy the back to school shopping experience can be. Starts with a few items on the list. And suddenly you're shopping for supplies, clothes, lunch gear, tack at about 10 other things you didn't see coming. And it adds up fast like when you buy clothes for back to school. And your kid has a growth spurt two weeks later in your right back where you started. Sometimes it genuinely feels like they're growing faster than your budget can keep up. Or when the teacher supply list arrives and somehow every item feels completely reasonable on its own, then you add everything together and realize just how much stuff one kid needs for one school year.

And that's why finding low prices on all things you need makes such a big difference this time of year. So remember with Amazon's low back to school prices, just spin less on your kids because every dollar you don't spend on them is a dollar you haven't spent on them. Shout back to school at Amazon and spin less on your kids. That feeling when you're trying to build your credit. And it's like over and over again. Good news. Chase Credit Journey can help you with a personalized score improvement plan provided by Experian. So when you still need that credit built, you have the guidance you need. You can even get a Chase Secure Banking account with no monthly service fee if you're 17 to 24 years old. Hallelujah. It's like getting a granola bar with a candle in it. When you want it a three-layer birthday cake, you wouldn't settle for just any dessert on your birthday. So don't settle for just any insurance. When it comes to getting the help you need, state farm is the real deal. Like a good neighbor, state farm is there. Thank you for making Lockdown your first listen every day.
