Can you even believe it? The Detroit Tigers were swept in a double header by the Cleveland Guardians, but they were walked off, not once, but twice. Two different times and back-to-back days. Just salt in the wound, dagger, dagger. This has got to be one of the worst days in Tigers' regular season history in recent memory. Welcome into a Lockdown Tigers post-game show. I am your host, Jake Reema. You can follow Lockdown Tigers post-game show right here on the number one sports podcast. Platform Lockdown Podcast Network. We're going to somehow get through the next 15 minutes on the Lockdown Tigers Post
Game Show. I'm going to need each and every one of you. Your comments are welcome. I'm at a complete loss. This baseball team just continues to throw up all over themselves and just gag away games and in a night where you felt like they played two games, they should have won both these games. My goodness, they just called, choked them both away. And again, I am at a complete loss. The bullpen's terrible, everybody's terrible, everything just cancel everything. It was so embarrassing. And again, I keep going back to this. It's got to be the one of the worst days in Tigers regular season history in recent memory where you're playing a divisional rival. And I know the season's been over for a while, sure. But maybe just, just maybe you could talk yourself into figuring out a way to still be
relevant in the conversation if you go out and sweep the twins and then sweep the gardens. Obviously, your teeth kicked in by the twins and then you show up in Cleveland and you have a six, what was it? Yeah, six one lead, six one lead in game one, give up a five spot in the fourth inning and then you let the same guy in a walkoff home run. That was game one. And what's better than, you know, subjecting yourself to that once. Let's do it again. Roll it back out and do it again in the night cap with a three one lead before the two run, Homer. And you knew it. I mean, you just, you just knew it. Didn't everybody know it? The eighth inning home run from Bazzana to tie the game at three. After that, you just thought, yeah, Tigers are losing this game. It is just, it's embarrassing. It's a gregious. It's really just an abomination of what this team has become and that's what we're talking
about. This is what you'll be talking about. I'm honestly struggling to do this night in and night out because it's gotten so, so bad. And I see the comments. I know everybody's frustrated as they should be AJ Hinch sucks, this whole team sucks. There's fire everybody clean house and maybe that's reactionary in the heat of the moment. But this is just, it's putrid and it's embarrassing. And even, even I'll say this 10th inning extra and you knew the Tigers a check swing from Dylan Dingler. I mean, he's so lost. Everybody is so lost. This entire team is so lost and I don't know why I'm getting upset with it. I shouldn't get upset because you can only laugh at this point. We're laughing in our own misery. But to then actually execute pretty well, Colt Keith on that bunch in the second game I'm talking in extra innings to get the lead runner at third, great play.
And then this is just man, it's defeating. It's deflating. It's, it's everything. Man, it's, and I see the comments coming in. You just, you can write the script before it happens. Even in the day game, the Tigers, you know, they, they go up five to one, six to one, six to one in the third inning. Just, just be a constant professional. Go out and win that game. You're up six to one. Gag it all. I mean, Roque you the number nine hitter the number nine. I laugh and because I just can't even believe it. Five RBI in the first game for Roque you. You can't make it up, man. I mean, these post game shows are just, just embarrassing.
There's no other way to put it because you, you just ripped the bandaid out off night after night after night trying to put up with this team. And everybody is to blame organization. Why front office managers, players, support staff, ballboys, clubbies, everybody. Just can't take it, man. I just can't take it. Zinter 1984 says Scott Harris should be fired 10 seconds after the season ends. I agree. Kevin McGonagall, rookie of the year. That's all we got going for us. I'm just at such a loss and I know I should go through all the individual plays. I talked about the Bunt. I talked about the relievers inability to, it's funny to watch in the game on
Apple TV. I think it was that fifth inning where the Tigers actually had, you know, they score a couple runs there. I guess only one because Spencer Torkelson strikes out. And I don't know which announcer set up, but you know, Torkelson's really good at getting the ball in the air with a runner on third lesson to us. No, he's not. He's good at striking out. What did he do? He struck out everything. It's just just so brutal. All right, stay with us. We'll take a quick break and tie a bow on it next. Lockdown Tigers post game show. Hey, today's episode of the Lockdown Tigers post game shows brought to you. Buy or good friends over at Amazon. It's Amazon ad take over. Thank you to our friends at Amazon for this limited ad break. It's back to school season. It's time to spend less on your kids. With Amazon, that's right. Spend less on your kids with Amazon. We all know how crazy the back to school shopping experience can be.
It starts with a few items on the list. And then suddenly you're shopping for supplies, clothes, lunch gear, tech and about 10 other things. You didn't see coming at all. That's up so fast. And you know, just because school has started, doesn't mean you're protected from that gross bird. Sometimes you buy clothes and they can be back to school clothes. And all of a sudden your kid has a gross bird two weeks later. You're right back where you started. Sometimes it genuinely feels like they're growing faster than your budget can even keep up. Oh yeah, don't even get me started about the need versus the want. Oh, kids definitions of a need for something back to school is a lot different than the definition of a one in your definition of a need. And somehow that list just keeps getting longer and longer. And every time you look at it, you think, ah, I got to explain need versus want. This is a conundrum. And you know what, this time here, it's just part of the process. But good news. Amazon's got you covered. Remember with Amazon's low backs of school prices, you just spend less on your
kids. Spend less on your kids because every dollar you don't spend on them is a dollar. You haven't spent on them. Shop back to school at Amazon and spend less on your kids. I really do appreciate everybody's comments and engagement on a post game show like this after the team gets swept by way of the walkoff times two in a double header capacity. And you know, I try to keep up with the comments. I really do. Kenley Jansen just doesn't have it. And I don't know why this is a Tigers curse where former closers that have achieved excellence and greatness in a past career, somehow some way decide, oh, I'll go fizzle out and just die and have my corpse on the mound in Detroit. It happens time and time again. It's a tale is all the time. Joe Nathan and, you know, K-Rod.
I mean, even Papa Grande had, I mean, everybody just with Tigers with closers, man, it just never works out. And I just, I think the bottom is officially falling out. I really do. The bottom's falling out and there's no way around it. Sears goes five and two thirds tonight. Good for him and earn, run for strikeouts. And just the bomb. You knew it was going to happen. You knew the Tigers were going to gag that lead. Bazana with the two run homer and Roqueo was the one before that. And you know what? I had this thought. I don't know if you were like me watching this game on Apple TV. Just I'm so envious of the Guardians. I mean, you could hear that crowd, the crack of the bat, which I don't know what Apple TV does to the mics where every, I mean, even a foul ball sounds like it's going to be a home run,
you know, out of the ballpark. It's just such a loud crack of the bat. I don't know what they do. The picture looks weird too, but I'm just so envious of fans that get to enjoy quality baseball. They get to enjoy their team, making a playoff push. They get to enjoy their team playing the game the right way and doing everything they can to win. And we just we have none of that. Instead we get AJ hinge and bummer here how you lead with the injury sliding into home on the contact play. Saw on Twitter. It's a shin contusion. So hopefully he's all right there. But doll, we get to do this two more times this weekend against the Cleveland Guardians. Looking forward to that's going to be a lot of fun. It always is. I mean, come on. You got the Tigers in guards tomorrow after I pulled the schedule and I see loss Friday. Loss Friday walk off loss, walk off loss.
From revol Des will go tomorrow. And then on Sundays Jackson Job and the Tigers are at home against the Minnesota twins on Monday. I mean, that's the Labor Day. So it's a little bit earlier of a game. But man, I don't know how else you say this. Can't let the Tigers take your joy. Whether it was the walkoff loss in the first game, Spencer Turkelson, a home run in that game, though, how about that? Wow. You get such a largely and you just blow it. Man. And I do think, you know, if they if they win both games and like I said, if they sweep the twins or take two or three from the twins and sweep the guards, they're all sudden talking about like, hey, maybe they maybe they can figure figure it out, but they can't. There's just absolutely no chance.
No chance to hits for Labor Torres and to walk on base three times. What was it? What does that really matter? Right? I mean, what are we doing here? This team's nothing. I do like Eduardo Valencia. I don't know what it is. I just I like rooting for him. We'll see if he sticks around. Tyler Patterson, 4787 probably speaks for a lot of us saying, I'm done watching this Tigers team this season, more pathetic losses. Yeah. Pathetic is a good way to describe it. I mean, that's what this team has has turned into. Montero definitely disappointing in the first game. I don't know whose comment that was, but I see it. And you're absolutely right. Montero in that first game for the Tigers got roughed up a little bit,
gives up the big home run, six earned runs over four innings. So maybe he's regressed a little bit in that. All right. Thanks so much for tuning in as always. Make sure you check out Lockdown Tigers with Scott Bentley. Check out Lockdown Lions with Matt Derry, Lockdown Red Wings with Scott Bentley and Lockdown Pistons with Cooke a heel and all the squad shows that I'm a part of and the daily hit show with the Lockdown Alliance. So even though it was a clown show tonight for the Tigers, come back on Saturday, two more against the Guardians. I mean, what else do you really say? It's football season, right? Michigan State's playing Toledo right now. I don't know what the score is that when I saw that Toledo score again to make a little bit closer. So I'll have to check that out. Michigan and Western Michigan this weekend. I love college football. I really do. So looking forward to that. Have a wonderful rest of your evening. Thanks so much for tuning in. Sorry that the show was the way it was.
Thank you, Tigers, to walk off losses. We'll talk to you next time. Tigers just continue to plummet. I believe the record now if that's refreshed in time, 64 and 77. Jays 13 games under 500. Not good. Thanks so much for tuning in. Talk to you next time. Goodbye. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
