Well, go into the war path ladies and gentlemen. You're weekly official visits to everything Florida State Football Recruiting. My name is Nick Carlisle. I joined as always by Matt Lesair and Matt Lesair has a very exciting and announcement to start the war path today. You see on his camera over his right shoulder. The streak has been broken. We have a victory. We have a win in the win column. Matt Lesair, current bingo champion over at the CP on bingo nights. If you were if you were betting what happened first a Matt Lesair bingo win or a Florida State ACC road win. I'm sorry to tell you, but those that bet the the Matt bingo win. They're also going to be doing a money spread. They're also going to be counting it out and stacking it up. That's one way to start the show. The other way to start the show is by I guess doing a grand statement that we sometimes have to do on this show where we just have to throw our hands up in the air and say,
that's recruiting because everything that we talked about. Well, not everything. A good portion of the exciting stuff that we talked about on last week's episode of the war path. McCoy Williams expected to be at the game on Saturday. Josh Pedagruth, restart, tight end flip target that's committed to Georgia Tech was also expected to be at the game on Saturday. Neither of those guys showed up. Matt, that's kind of one of those things where you just got to throw your hands in the air and say, that's recruiting and changes on the time. I think with the with McCoy, it was very much like he was welcomed again. He was expected, but we it was just him making a decision. I knew so I found out that the Friday night before that before the game before his game that it was up in the air. And then again, this is what we already put the show out just to kind of to go the timeline. We already put the show out, but it was up in the air and he was going to decide after or in the morning, then found out in the morning he was not coming up because obviously his teammate Chase Brown, who's currently committed to Florida State did come to the game.
So that would have been a way up there, right? It was pretty pretty easy. So they got Josh Pena grew just told me he wasn't making it. Don't know what happened there. But again, also what you know when these guys are like those are getting planned and like that's a chance of happening. The visit happening is still means they're in contact and still means that they're in touch a little bit. So it does say something still, even though they didn't come on campus, it does tell you they're still pushing for them in contact with them. Yeah, just because the smoke didn't result in a fire doesn't mean that there wasn't fire there at all. You know, they're still smoke. So it doesn't matter in the sense that I think the most important target that you were recording to be there on Saturday actually did show up on Saturday. And that is a offensive tackle slip target committed to Nebraska, Timmy, a Liu who did make it in obviously super important. Because for us, they doesn't have any offensive linemen committed period in this class currently. That's something that they're trying to actively change. That's one of the things that they are trying to accomplish before pin hits paper on when is actually early signing day this year is at the third, the fourth.
I think it's the third, the first, the first week of December. Yes, the first week of December. I believe I believe the fifth is the last day of that period. If I'm remembering correctly off the top of my head. I know because I'm trying to go to Anthony Jessel Nick and Tampa. So we'll see we're going to we're trying to hopefully that we get all the done on the first day of early signing period. Yeah. Anyways, Liu made it into town, took in the game. Sounds like he came away impressed with the atmosphere at the very least and what he saw from the fans in that game. Does feel like it's going to be a bit of a challenge to pull him away from Nebraska, but at least you're starting to put the roots into that, that motion with that game on Saturday. I think a challenge. Yeah, but what when is flipping not a challenge, right? I mean, flipping is only not a challenge if if you like, you let them go somewhere earlier and they weren't to take it one point. And then now that they're take for you, like a Jordan Crutchfield, right? I think that's the example from last year, right? Like he wasn't to take because you took Jay Timins instead. But when Jay Timins went to Ohio State and then he wasn't take you, come back.
It's pretty easy. So it's a really easy flip, but these ones when it's long term, you're actually building relationship. You're going to always hard. But it's, you know, I always preached a closer to home aspect. I think that's big here. If you look at chats before it was Georgia and North Carolina as other schools hitting him up, look, Chad Simmons, but certainly out here, it mentioned Georgia. You just mentioned North Carolina. And I don't know if you've seen the news. North Carolina is having some issues as a program currently. So that could be a turn off and you with someone we're going to talk about later in the episode as well, too. So it's, it's interesting. And I also remember last week when we said we were looking, I think it was last week and last week before I said, Shabba's Dixon could be one to look at too. Now that's, that wasn't off of like that. I know. No, I don't tell. Yeah. Yeah. Florida State had been in contact with them as far as I knew or still know. And, but you know, if North Carolina is trying to continue of their GM's gone, that's very interesting. Now also all of this depends on whether or not how Monday goes, but in general, you look at North Carolina as a program in turmoil, you could take advantage of.
So like I don't, they're probably not a threat. And like the recruitment, if you're going to Florida State, North Carolina, Nebraska, you're probably looking just at Florida State and Nebraska, just based off of that. Again, that can change the Florida State loses on Monday pretty quickly. But it. I think Florida State does have a shot here because we're talking to Timmy and I'll bring it back to Timmy. Sorry going on that North Carolina tangent. But it was very clear he liked the visit from me talking to him or like texting with him afterwards that you clearly enjoyed it. And he left the door open for an official that's clearly a part of their conversation. So it's something to watch for that's obviously the next step in this process, right? The flipping him is now you need to get him on campus again for that official visit. And it's pretty important. It's something that we've talked about on the show a couple of weeks in our own now just in passing, but and you brought it up again. Earlier, the idea that there are no easy flips right now. Do you feel like there is somebody that Florida State could get back in with that maybe they didn't consider a take originally that they could circle back around with and have that be a contender for a flip.
And obviously you copy that by saying no flip is easy, but there's certainly easier when you have that invested relationship as opposed to really coming from behind like you are with Timmy at this moment. Is there anybody like that for Florida State right now where they maybe passed initially, but they could circle back around it because I'm struggling with names to come off the top of my head. Yeah, I was about to say not off the top my head because I think a lot of was I mean, you remember how small those official visits list were a lot of that was because they had already committed some elsewhere before. Not like not as not a take or anything like that. They just that that's what recruiting is now, right? It's become that the first weekend is more important than the last weekend. It's become the trends since for the last couple of years that started to become the thing. So no, not off the top of my head, but there's a few. I mean, well, this is an easy transition for ring goats that Chad Simmons article where Florida States mentioned a bunch of times as still in contact with these recruits like Fennel, Marquis Fennel, we've talked about extensively on this show now. That one feels weird because if you're looking at an academic battle and he was at Georgia Tech, Georgia Colorado last night, which great game, by the way, that was insane, but well, great fourth, great second half because overall, great finish.
Great finish. Yeah. So he was at that game for Georgia Tech, which is interesting because Georgia Tech was never a true player in that recruitment. I remember down the stretch that he wasn't to take at Georgia Tech, which is interesting, but if you're looking because remember, he, I mean, his, we know his recruitment came down to academics at the end. That's why he chose Stanford Georgia Tech's up there academically is close to home. So that wouldn't be a surprise like. If you look at academics, Florida States still losing that battle with Georgia Tech. So that's an interesting one, but it just it wasn't there wasn't much there from Simmons, but he said the seminars are still engaged. So just something to watch out for me. He is down the road. Maybe he shows up for a game. It's not that far-fetched. Just presents it's an easy day trip for him. Another one that was listed that for St. Louis and contact was Jeremiah Proctor, a safety linebacker is committed to pit at a Gainesville, Georgia. But it looks like a lot of heavy hitters there, Michigan, LSU. So unless you start winning, that's going to be a tough one if those are the two programs you're going up against, but it's out there, right?
It doesn't matter. It's a couple weeks ago we were like we can't find contact with anybody and now they're trickling. It's starting to trickle out that they have been in contact with those guys. Even running back and this is another long shot probably. Nigel New Kirk, I believe you even said an article that four state was still on him, but he's staying pretty tight with Alabama. So again, these are just things to watch. Depending on how Monday goes, right? Like if Monday goes well, this could all launch. Like a lot of these could launch in your turning heads. Like you were last year going into a by-week, going into Alabama. So it's very interesting just to see and look at. You and I have said over the past year of doing the show that generally speaking, you can't overreact or underreact based on one game in terms of what that's going to do for recruiting. It's not like one game is going to launch you into another stratosphere.
It's also not going to sink you. That's traditionally the way that we view it, but it does feel like this SMU game is significant. It does feel like if you win this and get over this hump, that there's a little bit of extra breath. There's more hope and there's hope in the season. That's where it goes to, right? Because if you compete with SMU, you can probably compete with the rest of the people in your schedule. Like Louisville, if you could be SMU, Louisville is a win of like not that Louisville wasn't a winable game before. It looks more winable than before because that's at Louisville's on the same level. I don't want to go as far as Miami, but you feel better about it, right? But those games, that tough stretch doesn't look as tough anymore because you know you can do it now. So it's not just for recruiting, it's just for the state of the program. Yeah. That's what it goes to, right? It goes to that. And once you look like it's from the top down.
So if you put recruiting all the way down, this game is just going to set the tone for... We've been saying all offseason in every show of WarChand, all that. This Monday sets the tone. If you have a good day, you'll probably see a little bit recruiting surge. We'll get that, not a surge in of commits, but of contact and stuff like that. So what will last, Mike, you're gonna reveal the question of like, have you been hearing from recruits circling back more interested again? He'll say, yes, it's what happens every year, right? It's happened when they beat Alabama when they got off to get started. So that's what will happen if you win Monday night going into an Alabama game, your two and O, you're not ranked if you beat SMU, right? Maybe you get a voter too. Well, I don't know. I don't think SMU is ranked high enough with their 19 coming into this game. 19. It's not like you're beating a top 10 team in Alabama and that's going to pull vote you up to what was it for? Yes, true. Something like that. That they pulled votes it last year, something like that. An insane jump from from unranked to top 10. Certainly, I don't know that beating SMU is going to pull the whole FSU,
but sometimes the pull does some crazy things. It is a standalone game Monday night, which would help with that, right? Because everyone's going to watch it. It's to your point. It's not going to, I don't know that it's going to matter necessarily in terms of competition towards you. You can feel like you can compete with Miami at this stage. But you do, I do agree that specifically with like a Virginia that should probably be ranked by the time they're going to be in the town if they're not ranked already. They're exactly the most. Louisville on the road is an Indian burial ground. It's kind of like NC State type vibe. That's always going to be tough, but you want to be able to compete there. It does give you hope that you're going to be able to see some progress, or at least some competition. I think if you, you know, wins and losses are ultimately what are going to be able to decide whether or not there's turnover with this coaching staff at the end of the season. But if you're going on a week by week basis in terms of a recruiting standpoint, and you're just being competitive with these teams and not looking sluggish, not looking in coherent, not looking like you have no communication and your defensive back end.
You know, the problems that we saw in the first game. If you keep improving, then it's going to matter. And again, by a game basis to these recruits more than the win-turtled into the year. Now, that's obviously not going to make you feel any better about the trajectory of the season, the trajectory of the program overall. Obviously, that's going to be decided when December or even before then hits. But to your point, it is going to be much, much better if you can be competitive. I wanted to circle back around to Finova real quick, because if you remember, Colorado was actually a place that he visited too. So Colorado and Georgia Tech being there, that was kind of like a weird, a weird happy accident that he was there for that game. The academics are why I felt like Georgia Tech would have been a strong contender initially in his recruitment. Am I boring you that much? I'm kidding. For the actual experience, he just took the biggest yon rip I think I've ever seen. It's pretty cool, anyways.
Back on track, I was worried about Georgia Tech early on in the crew, because if academics didn't matter to him, I mean you said it, Georgia Tech, and Stanford are probably about as good as you're going to get top three, top five in the entire country in terms of being able to do football and have academics like that. And it's interesting that he has. Georgia Tech, to me, is just weird in this recruitment. Sorry, I didn't know that. No, that's where I was going with it. It's like it's a weird like wild card almost, where you would hope that Florida say it would be the main threat to flip, but you know, and there's plenty of chances for him to get back on campus over the next few weeks. So let's see if he does. Just what's weird about it is that Georgia Tech was never a factor in this work. Like, he took the official there and did all that, but they were never a true factor in this recruitment. Like, this was never someone like Georgia Tech was never pushing for him hard. So that's why it's interesting that they're popping back up here. Because remember, like, even it was Stanford, it was Stanford, Colorado, and Florida State, as the contenders going into the Georgia Tech visit,
and left the Georgia Tech visit the same way. Like, it wasn't like, it wasn't like Georgia Tech was up there with after the visit. I mean, I think Mike Dorvall, love, can't Martin love how they could be able to use him in his offense. I'd wonder what the rest of the places are like, versatility-wise, but I know like that's somebody they would love to have. Like, they always, they, he's been one of the top guys forever now. And it's good, it's just, it's good to hear that they're still engaged in there, because if something happens at the end, maybe you realize you don't want to move all the way to California or something, you want to stay close to home. There we go. But the fact that academics was being pushed by the family when the commitment did happen, makes me think this could be a tough flip. I do want to circle back even further to Timmy, Aleu, Aleu, Aleu. Aleu, did you ask him? Did you just get in there? I did not talk to him in person. It's just text again. He left it over early. Yeah, so it's not necessarily specific to Timmy, but just in general, are you concerned, because we talked about him being
one of the few offensive linemen that's been on visits recently, and obviously a huge dead period and all that? Are you concerned that there's been a lack of offers on offensive linemen over the last few months? Are we still waiting for senior film to come out? That's the only thing I say is they're waiting for senior film to come out. I don't know. I've been waiting for it and checking Twitter as much as you have. I really, I don't know. It feels like, I mean, look, I think a guy that they should just circle back out of Shav Esdixson, I would especially with what North Carolina is happening at North Carolina right now. I've said that before. I think that one will make a lot of sense, especially being a closer to home guy. Already blocked for ooze at Lee County. It's just interesting. I think again, we just look, man, if they lose on Monday, it doesn't matter as much. So we'll just kind of see what happens. But it's very interesting. It's a very interesting time because I know I've said a ton.
We have to see how it develops. This game is huge. I didn't even realize it before talking. This game is huge for everything. It's weird how it circles down. I've been realizing it more and more. We've been talking for the last 20 minutes or whatever it is. Just win Monday and let's see what happens from there. How about that? Yeah. That works fine with me because at some point or to some degree, if this is the only movement that you're getting in terms of offensive line recruits and you keep going into the season and this is still the only one, I know that we've said their mentality right now is pretty much portal focused more than anything else. Like you have to feel like at that point, unless something springs up in the last three or four weeks, like they are prone to happen, like with the kid from New Zealand, who's named happy, Nico happy. That happens literally the morning of and obviously a huge surprise to everybody. This keeps going like this. You have to feel like they're almost just
conceiting. Is that even right to say? Because they're genuinely has just been no movement otherwise. Yeah, you know, we just kind of see it's pretty clear they're relying on the portal when it comes to offensive line with heavily, right? I mean, we've seen the last two years be a full new offensive line with only one homegrown developed lineman on that front in André Otto and hopefully he keeps starting. What you do have that young core group behind them, you got Jonathan Daniels, Paul Bowling, you can start to call for state product after he's been here year. Not fully homegrown but close enough. He's only a second year guy, right? You know, other guys coming up. So hopefully next year that if you're able to make it through this season, you finally have more of a homegrown group that naturally comes in. Rather than going to the transfer portal, then that can help with recruiting because right now there's not much to sell there. Herbs only been here year. And they know they haven't been able to develop. They have that good offensive line from last year. You can say, look what I do with these guys in just a year. But yeah, you need these homegrown guys to start going up to help with development as well.
We'll see. Again, I think Shav has dixen as a guy that should come back around on that feels like the easiest to me right now just outside looking in. But it's just yeah, it's a weird case. Like I don't really know what to even say on it. But again, it went Monday. Yeah, when Monday is yeah, don't let any don't let any sacks buy if you're auto. It's really important for auto to just continue have a good year. Like I'm not quite sure how we grade in his first game, but maybe maybe a little bit shaky early on, but the entire line was a little bit shaky earlier on. And then it gets normal for first game jitters, which is where you need to take advantage of S. You come Monday. Yeah, that's what I said. That's what I said in my prediction video. I still picked SMU to win. Did you pick SMU to win? No, you picked FSU. I picked FSU. Well, speaking of that game, we don't have a full visitors list yet for the SMU game. It is a little bit early that with that game being on Monday. But there are a couple of important guys to earmark that we do know are expected to be there. One of them quarterback 2028 Warner Robbins quarterback.
I believe he's a four star. Chandler Dyson. That's a big quarterback, tired to get back on campus so early in the season. If you recall, he was there for an elite camp during the summer. Name Florida State is one of the teams that were sneakily in his top five. And I know that the response on the board was like low key in the top five. That's not necessarily a glowing endorsement of Florida State. That did come a couple of days after the 2028 cycle flipped on. And you had 10 to 20 different programs all reaching out to you and showing interest. So it's not as damning as a common as you might think. But that said, regardless of that quote from June, what does show tangible interest, Matt, is showing back up on campus early for a very important game? Yeah, Florida State has been like all the top of this one all summer after that elite camp visit because it was the last they got the last word over the summer too, right? Because that was the last day before it all went dead until the season started. So it's good. I mean, other big programs in there about Florida State even told Chad Simmons in July
that they made the biggest impression over the summer in June. So it's huge. This is one that, yeah, you probably think this one's more up there on the board. Just because I mean, he's a top 10 quarterback in the country according to rivals in the Strabble even. It's a huge visit. But Nick, I believe you talk to him at camp, right? Yeah. So I just say I didn't talk to my camp. But it's big. I haven't talked to him. This has been a visit he's been wanting on the books for a while. I think he might have been at the Georgia Tech game last night as well. So that's one of the schools in there. But hey, look what happened. Imagine losing on a on a block field goal and Bobby Dodd Stadium couldn't be us. But yeah, no. But yeah, I mean, it's just I think it's a huge visit. We'll see how it is. We spoke said last week that getting in on a 28 quarterback early is something we both want to see just because you know, the last couple of cycles you've been late in that regard. Now one of them, the Trimell Jones ones you were early on, but that wasn't going to
intend was your fault. But that wasn't like you did do the right thing originally. But since then, you've been pretty late on recruiting quarterbacks and kind of scrambling at the end. So it would be good to get a big one in the boat early. Not to discount the other quarterbacks that actually had already made it on campus. It's something that we. I don't know if we talked about at length last week, but we certainly overlooked it a couple of quarterbacks on campus for the New Mexico State game. Brady Quinn being one of them Florida State getting in early there. Boats, Spence and Hudson West. I know that you talked to a few of them. What was the early reception from those that were on campus in SARS 2028 quarterbacks? Yeah, I think so I'll start with Brady Quinn. He really liked it, but that one he's got some other visits to take still. UCLA is coming next and then he said he wants to visit Florida and some other schools up there. But we'll see. I think Florida State is a is a hot is high on his list though, especially to get the first visit. Again, that was kind of an advantage of having that week's zero game is that it's a game
that most your competition doesn't have something on. So it works out pretty well. And then Hudson West liked it. I didn't get too much into it with him, but Boats Spence like loved it. He wants to come back this season. Now he already has an extensive visit list for this year, but he absolutely loved it. Like from what he was saying, like he could he really, really, really liked being on campus. I'll I'll pull up some of the quotes he told me here real quick, but it like he was just like, yeah, dude, like I kept being like, let's go. Like it's awesome. As you want to come back and he was like, yeah, man, like I I loved it. Like I loved every part of it. So it's it's cool that so they claim it a good impression on these kids. And get it. There's still more quarterbacks to come visit. Like I look rubly is one to watch. There's another one coming for the UF game. They're still and chase currents. So they're still this is still a wide board. Now last year at this time, I believe it was more KVN Bryant or bust. And before you started getting into the rest of them because it was more of a winter thing
when you started, we're truly bringing a bunch of quarterbacks on campus. So it's cool that you're getting in this wide range early of a lot of good talent too. A lot of good high ranked talent. Yeah. And last year around the same time, I believe Trent C. Born fell off the board. That one was an Alabama lean forever. But you were still involved in that one. And then Gus Mollison retiring when he did that really affected the chase. Johnson recruitment. So it was very evident by that time, you know, champ monster had already been kind of anointed as the new primary target at that point. So it's good to see kind of a wider board earlier on here in the fall for quarterbacks. Both spends I think he's a Georgia kid. East Paulting, I believe off the top of my head. Couple of great pull. Chris. He went first geography win. How about that? It I mean, if it sounded like honestly, I could have said Pennsylvania. East Paul, they sounds like Pennsylvania does. It does.
Hey, you got one. You got a bingo win on the board. I got a win in the geography column. We're doing well today. We're excelling. Good week. I'm proud of you. Yeah, good week for us. So both spends East Georgia. He's got a couple of nice offers. Off the top of my head, I think Indiana being one of them. Hey, if if person, he likes a QB or a team of sincerity, you know, maybe maybe one to look at, but a good crop of quarterbacks early. Do you feel like they're leaning any particular way on one target right now? Do you know, I don't think there's any way. Okay. I was going to say it's early. Yeah. I don't even say a way to tell at this point. It'll be interesting to see like, what is a guy like, like Dyson say this week? Like does he say they told me they're at the top of the board? Because that changes who we say is at the top of the board, right? So because I think that would be, I think I'd be a good one to have at the top of your board, especially at being closer like water robins.
Like you're right with all like Luke Rubles all in Colorado. You have the Kid in California and current. You know, Brady Quinn's a good one because he's my Donna, but how good is a quarterback who's surrounded by the best talent in the country every year, right? Like what? What separates him, right? Even though I do like Brady Quinn, that wasn't meant as a shot at all. I'm just saying they just Madonna's always stacked. So like, it could, it could cloud some things. But it'll be interesting. I think this visit with Dyson could say a lot, depending on what he says after the visit. I think that it'll be a big tell. Florida State is actually also getting in some 2027 kids. One of them being a linebacker in Theo Wilson, who is committed to North Carolina. So you kind of bring that back around as what's going to happen with the fighting Bill Belichex over on Chapel Hill. Interesting that he's a linebacker, Matt. I don't know if this is just a look-see visit. And by look-see me just taking a peek around, see what's going on. I don't feel like any of their linebacker commits are threat to be leaving at this time.
Or a lot of them are shut down. So interesting in the sense that it's another linebacker on campus, because how many linebackers do you really need you took for last year? Are you going to take another this year? It's an interesting visit, Matt. I wonder if there's any, if it's really that simple or if it's something a little bit more loaded. Yeah, we'll see again. That's another one where we talk to him when he gets, when he's here afterwards and we figure that out. I mean, he has it. If I remember correctly, he was supposed to visit in the spring and never made it. And I think he was supposed to officially visit, but I actually never made that either. So, yeah, I don't remember. The last time he went on campus was maybe a junior day, if that. So it's been a while since he's been back. So it'll be interesting to see that what that's like. Unless he did come back in the spring, I remember correctly. But I know he didn't take an official, but we'll see how it goes, right? Because it's big. It's big to come back and just see, talk to Ernie again. We'll see what Ernie says to him. We'll see, man.
I mean, clearly, who would you rather have? Theo Wilson is a good linebacker. That's a good prospect. He had some high programs after him as well. And I think he won MVP or was one of the best players that the camp I went to at Under Armour, too. So it's interesting to get with these visits. It's hard to preview it. But it's like what they say afterwards really matters and tells us a lot of how truly, how much FSU is truly after it, right? Yeah. So it was that junior day visit that was the last time they was on campus. I do think you're right. He was expected to come back for either a spring visit or an official visit. OVs to Virginia, North Carolina, obviously, where he committed NLSU. So that's the big boy that you remember them being in on. It's just an interesting, I mean, he's a talented prospect. And we know this, but interesting the sense that you don't really need another linebacker. He's from Armwood, which I always like to joke is a very notorious FSU lean. Heavy sarcasm on that. Not a lot of FSU love there at Armwood, but it's interesting that
that's one of the guys that you're bringing in. And it's not like it's an either or situation where you're bringing him in or somebody else. I just don't, if I'm the staff, I'm bringing you an offensive lineman and defensive lineman, and that's where I'm focusing and bringing in another corner. And that's not to say that they aren't trying to do that. They just haven't had results yet. So I'm curious to see what he says and I'm curious to see where they go moving forward. It kind of circles back to what you were saying earlier. This game is huge for that. If they do get the win, maybe the tires that you're trying to kick end up getting some momentum and get pushed down the hill and you start seeing some of the trenches show up on campus and another cornerback show up on campus. It does beg the question. And I've been kind of going back and forth on this too. How many more do you think they're going to take for this class? Because they're at what? 16, 17 right now? Yeah, I also am not sure on that either.
I don't know if they're going to take a whole lot more. Probably only in positions you don't have if you really think that's why the linebacker is very interesting. Like you definitely want to take an offensive lineman, right? That's no debate. Again, we just kind of had to see because I feel like you're not probably not another wider seeker. You need more safeties and less and Zach Rijotsen is visiting a Texas A&M this week, by the way. Looking like that official visit. Yeah, so I'll bring that up. He's still think, still like we're up as you sit there, but he's visiting Texas A&M. Because remember, we originally had heard that this weekend was going to be his official visit. We can clearly, that's changed. Looking at UVA for that one right now. So, no, it's not set in stone. That's just what we're looking towards for that official visit. So there's that. But like you don't really need more safeties in the class. You need a corner, maybe two. So like you can see them going up to 20, right? Like talking through, you could see like if you can get it on two offensive lineman,
get it on two corners, like you could see it getting up there. They're at 17 now. They need one at the very least offensive lineman, hopefully two. So that would already get you to 19. They need another defensive lineman and they need a cornerback. By my math. Now, we have no idea that that's the exact number, but 20. This is just talking through of like what some needs are for the class. So it's, yeah, we'll see. So roughly around 2021, maybe a blocking tight end. Finger scrubs. They did. They did offer a defensive lineman, the two into a 70 defensive lineman last week. Jeremiah Mark, I believe. And they offered he came on campus. He was here for the game last week and they offered him and he's starting to get some big traction. So it's that's that's one to watch that maybe comes back for an official as well. But you got like with other big programs in there, we'll see a four-stake it. Keep pace. How was basketball practice today, Matt? To take a gigantic steer towards to the right.
How was basketball practice today? Yeah, that's the. We're getting wins and bego and geography. We're losing. We're progressing in sideways. You know what? Here, I'll help you with sideways. So you know, like a lot of these kids, where you're able to a lot of these kids watch, you know, the the Jason Lopez, but you know what else Jason Lopez plays? Basketball. That might have been worse. That might have been worse. That was I'm going to say it's special. So it's best for practice. It was fun. Marces ponders back from injury. And dude, holy s***. I get so he's fun to watch play. It's really fun to watch play. So, but that's from basketball. And oh, so do I want to be going over three years? So that's where that's where the segway is. That is the segway to basketball recruiting. You're sure you go. But multiple five stars on campus. A mod neuro coming on campus this week.
Four stars, the five stars for last week. Just have to keep waiting on those and need to keep shipping away. Those kids have like 10 visits set up. So just you're the first one just keep going. They went well. From what I've heard it, the visits, all of his went well. Jarvis Hayes sounds like it went the best. Just like that's the one that comes up the most from last weekend. But it's a weird one there because his dad's a coach at Georgia. So you probably a Georgia lean, but it sounds like if it's not Georgia, it's four state. Kaden, you're looking at Iowa and Miami for Kaden, Dottry five star. But again, keep shipping away there. His mom went to four state. So that helps a lot. Masua, or Musa, sorry, other five stars on campus. That's Syracuse now. The the thought is that Syracuse leads there. But again, he has so many visits. Keep shipping away. But I heard I did hear that this a mod nerd guy who's coming this week. A four star power forward from Minnesota. So interesting. Minnesota. I've heard they have a-
For a new basketball powerhouse, Minnesota. It's a great the great basketball state. Yeah, so it's a, hey, this is where the Lakers originated. So and also I'm going to, I'm going to, I won't say this one as much because actually my YouTube premiere video, that's tomorrow if you remember, is all basketball recruiting and about steam and his case and what we're hearing there. So I don't want to give away that, right? I feel like I should leave that and use it as a say way for people to sign up for YouTube. Mirage apparently Nick from what you've told me a lot of people have been doing. Yeah, it's been fantastic. So first of all, thank you for those of you that have signed up for a word-champ premiere membership here on YouTube. You do get that bonus content videos every single day from members of the war chain staff. So Matt's going tomorrow. I'm going this week. I got one on Sunday. I've got no idea what I'm going to talk about yet, but we're going to figure something out. I didn't figure out what I was talking about so this morning when I, when I knocked it out. So if you're interested in hearing from the war chain staff on a more personal basis, the more chain premiere memberships videos are a great way to do that. The other great way to make sure that you're caught up today on everything.
Florida State Football Map is the sale that never dies. The 75% off sale. It is still going on and it is going to go until September 8th. I believe that is the cutoff date. No more after that. 75% off an annual subscription to WarChamp. Hey, it's going to be after the SMU game. So if at Florida State, he's able to pull that out. There's hope renewed in the season. Even after that, there is still time to come and be come at WarChant.com. Subscribe or first 75% off for your first year. There also is some exciting stuff going on with the WarChant family this weekend. There's a math there. I mean, there's just so many graphics to choose from. Are you going to the pickle pad? I will not be at the pickle pad. I have not decided if I'm going to be at the pickle pad or not. I'm leaning towards yes. We'll see. That's an excuse to get out of it. I have not decided whether or not I'm going to go to the corner pocket on Saturday at 730. Or I'm going to go to the watch party at 630 PM on Sunday. I will be at corner pocket at 7 on Saturday.
So I might choose to go to the corner pocket with you. I might go to the corner pocket. The corner pocket. The little packet of salt that you're going to put on your register bites. The corner bingo pocket. Anyways, no, I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. It's going to be one of the other. I mean, people are probably chomping at the bit to figure out where I'm going to be. I said all the sarcasm in the world. Do you see how dark it's gotten in my room? It is about the freaking poor outside of it. It's not already. It is like night. For context, it's 2.45 right now in the afternoon. And it looks like it's about 7 PM outside right now. There's obviously some lights turned off in here as well. There's a lot to play for on Monday. Hoping to be back here next Friday, next Thursday, whenever it is, we end up recording on the by-week with some good news of great joy. Hallelujah. Three French Hens, two turd-oves and S. Hopefully next week is the circle back episode.
Yes, that's a great way to put it. That's a great way to put it. And we hope to see you back next Friday on the WRPATH. My name is Nick Carlisle. That is Senior Recruiting Analyst. Matt Lissair, thank you so much for watching. Stay tuned to wortjant.com and wortjantv for more content this weekend.
