Well folks, the verdict is in. Day one of Donald Trump's midterm convention was a complete and total disaster. Everything that could have gone wrong for the Republicans absolutely did from technical errors to people saying weird things during speeches to Donald Trump, giving a really, really bad speech that I don't even think the Republicans can pretend to like, it did not go well for them. We're gonna talk about all of this and more and the new information we've gotten from day one of the midterm convention, but man, oh man, a really significant backfire for the Republicans. Please make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment, let me know what you think about the story, let me know what you think about everything you've seen from the midterm convention so far. And let's start here with how the day began, which was just two on the nose, if I do say so myself. And L, like the letter L, fell off the podium in the opening moments of the midterm convention. And this is not a joke. Like the L, one of the L's in Dallas fell off. It's like, come on, you know, I'm not a religious guy,
I'm not a spiritual guy, but it's like something out there in the universe is doing something for us. They're just sending us a message that the letter L specifically fell off the podium at the Republican convention at the very beginning of it. And that's not all, at least in terms of embarrassing moments for Republicans, we also learned that the gay dating app Grindr had significant outage reporting yesterday in Dallas, which just happens to be the location of the Republican midterm convention. You can see this map showing all the different outages across the United States. And Dallas is bright, bright red. This is the same party that attacks the LGBTQ plus community. This is the same party that has introduced more LGBTQ plus legislation in the past couple of years than in the past 50 years before that. I mean, they are really, really anti LGBTQ plus, but it's just interesting that at all these conventions, whenever there's a big Republican gathering, Grindr just suddenly goes down. I wonder what that means, huh?
I wonder what that means. But then the speeches began and wow, it is really hard to believe that this was not an SNL skit, but this is how Senator Tim Scott was speaking to the crowd. And I'm just gonna let the clip play and you can see for yourself. The Democrats, extreme candidates, won't rip that heart out of our chest. They hate our culture. They hate what it means to be American. Hear me, Dallas. Not on our watch. We will not back down. We will not grow weary. Are you with me? I said, are you with me? We will keep the majority. Dude, you need to take it down like five notches.
What are you screaming for? He's like ripping off his shirt, he's screaming into the microphone. Brother, chill. It's okay, just chill. Take a breather. And what I think is so funny about this clip is the guy next to him who I don't know. He's like staring at him like he's crazy. Like he's looking at him and he's like, are you sure this is the best way to give this speech? Even he knows. It looks like he's trying to contain a smile. I would also find it very difficult to contain a smile as well. But like brother, relax. That's how they began the day. That's like one of the first speeches and they're starting off with this tone. Man, oh man. And then Donald Trump eventually, after all these different Republican speakers came out, he decided to give his speech. And as soon as he began, there was a major technical issue taking place behind him. The big billboard they had behind Trump was experiencing quite a tech glitch. Just look at this. Why did I have to make sure we have a safe one for the years you come with this the first ever for any part? Wow.
This is real. This is not AI. A bunch of journalists documented this. But whoever was in charge of this billboard might have been leaning on the button for too long. They didn't realize. And this is what played behind Donald Trump at the beginning of his speech. Once again, it's almost like the universe is trying to tell us something. Are you kidding me? As soon as Donald Trump begins his speech, the billboard behind him starts freaking out. You know, it's again, a little too on the nose. And then Donald Trump got into this speech, but the problem for him was that the venue was empty. He's been claiming for days that it was packed. It sold out. Everybody wants to be there. Nobody is skipping it. Except a lot of people skipped it. I mean, take a look at this photo from journalist Jacob Rubishkin. Man, that's a lot of empty seats. You know, this is the first level. The first level of a packed event is meant to be packed. There's not meant to be an empty seat in sight. There's a lot of empty seats in sight. It looks like in this lower level specifically, there are more empty seats than there are occupied seats. And that's especially true of the upper levels.
The second and third level, I mean, in the third level, especially, there's nobody. It is completely empty up there. And the second level, same story. There are more unoccupied seats than there are occupied seats, which is very embarrassing for the Republicans when they've been claiming that this is a slam dunk event. Here's a video. FanDuel is now available everywhere in the US. So you can get in on the sports action no matter where you are, including these places. They've this year, most rewarding season ever with FanDuel. Age and location restrictions apply. Product availability varies by market. CfanDuel.com for eligibility. Gambling problem called 1-800-Gembers. The deal from a journalist at the actual convention, and you can see just the scale of how empty it is, even in the areas that are meant to be packed. Like, again, the lower level, the floor. You can still see empty seats with your eye, just looking at it. And this is while Donald Trump is speaking.
You can see him on the billboards back there speaking. This is while he's speaking. So Maga Camp claim O was earlier in the day. Here's another one. Check this out. The Trump dividend leaves pretend that I never ended up in the middle of the pandemic. I'm just kidding. Doesn't seem sold out to me. And Donald Trump was trying to claim that it was packed in that this place has an equal number of people standing outside waiting to get in as there are in the venue, except a journalist also fact-checked that too. I'm leaving American Airlines Center right now as Trump is speaking. He had referenced crowds outside waiting to get in. This is what P and C Plaza looks like nearly an hour into his speech. You know, I'm not seeing any crowds. I'm not seeing, maybe I could have put on my glasses. I'm not seeing any crowds out here. It's looking like it's completely empty. And there's nobody waiting to get into the venue. And if there were people waiting to get into the venue, they would have been let in because there are empty seats. I mean, this guy is such a bum.
Sorry, I had to take a quick coughing and water break because as you can probably tell, I'm a little under the weather today. But when you bring up the fact that the venue is empty, MAGA takes it very personally. They are very upset. I posted a video yesterday on TikTok Instagram and Facebook about how there are a bunch of empty seats. And this is a Republican who responded to me who owned himself in the video. Just watch this. There are hundreds of empty seats right now at Donald Trump's midterm convention that's taking place in Dallas. This isn't... I don't want to listen to his whole video because he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. I just think it's so funny how his own video debunked himself. So just like look at the background of his video. This is completely empty. It's completely empty.
He's at the convention. This was during Donald Trump's speech. He tried to do this pan to show how fill the venue is. How filled the venue is. But the lower level is empty in his own video. And especially if you go to the upper levels, it's also empty up there. So the Republicans are trying to own the Democrats saying, no, it's not empty. In their own videos, they're proving that it's empty. So to whoever this guy is, thank you for proving my point for me. I just wanted to point that out. And even online people weren't watching. So look at this. Right side broadcasting network. During 2024, they'd get like 50,000, 60,000 live viewers watching a Trump speech. They had 2,200 last night watching Donald Trump speech. Or live now from Fox 800 people. What about the hill? 133 people. The ABC network, 661 people watching. Not the numbers that Donald Trump was expecting. But this in particular is really what got Donald Trump a lot of backlash from his speech. He made a bold promise last night, promising to issue a dividend, a check to every American, every adult American citizen for $5,000.
Now Trump is going to run on this and say, I'm going to give you money. That's why you should vote for the Republicans. And he's only going to give you the money if the Republicans win, which it kind of seems like a little bit of bribery, kind of quid pro quo kind of thing. But that is his campaign promise. And he announced it during the speech, but there are some major problems here, of course. The United States said it, both of them. Because of our economic tremendous economic success, like in history, we've never had anything like what's happening. But because of our tremendous strength and success economically, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000. APPLAUSE Very much like a successful company will do
a cash distribution to a shareholders. So, of course, this promise is completely impractical and nonsensical. And it should be treated as such, especially because the guy who's making this promise is not somebody who has a good record when it comes to things like this. Remember those tariff checks, those tariff dividend checks that we were all supposed to get? The $2,000, $3,000, $4,000 that Donald Trump promised us? Have you gotten your check? Because I haven't. And I don't think any American has gotten that from Donald Trump, despite him promising a nice tariff check for every single American. That's number one. But also number two, this would cost over $1 trillion, just kind of further bankrupting the United States of America. And the economy, as it stands right now, is in absolutely no position to do something like this. Or at least we don't have the strength to do something like this. And this has been pointed out time and time again. But I want to first show you this clip. JD Vance was confronted on Fox News about this proposal. And even he seems a little like, ugh, like he's having a hard time defending Donald Trump's promise here,
because it's just not going to work. It's not a thing. It would have to pass Congress. None of these Republicans are going to agree. You'd have a better chance with Democrats doing something like that. We've done it before. You'd have a better chance with Democrats. Republicans are not going to agree. You think those fiscal conservatives out there are going to sign on? But this is JD Vance getting asked about it. $5,000 for ever. And this was immediately after the convention. $5,000 for every adult citizen. That's about $1.3 trillion. The critics will say the president is bribing voters and he's bankrupting the country. And this was JD Vance's response. People want if we do that, part of the dude just fine. Right. So Mr. Vice President, I heard the Trump dividend raised some eyebrows $5,000 for every adult citizen if the House wins. Wait, it raised my eyebrows. The folks hands went up at the same time. But if the Republicans win the House, the American middle class. Right. But if your Republicans win the House $5,000 for every adult citizen. So you do the quick math. That's about $1.3 trillion. I can hear the critics' heads exploded. They're saying, out loud, I guarantee you, President is bribing voters to vote for Republicans
to take over the House. And then he's bankrupting the country because the deficit debt is huge. And inflation would come back if this comes into play. So how do you answer those criticisms? Well, I say first of all, what the President's talking about is fundamentally a dividend for American workers. We're taking in an extraordinary amount of revenue because the President of the United States is actually standing up to both foreign companies, but also foreign countries who've been taking advantage of America's workers for pretty much my entire life. All of these tariffs, well, what is a tariff Brett? A tariff is when the President of the United States says, if you want to undercut the wages of American workers, if you want to ship American jobs overseas, you're going to pay a big fat penalty when you try to bring that stuff back into the United States of America. Those penalties have generated a lot of revenues. They've helped us pay down debt. What the President is just saying is, if you keep it going to the American people, if you keep us in power and allow us to continue to do these things, then you're going to share in some of the benefit of this incredible wealth that we're creating in the United States of America.
I don't think it's a controversial idea. It's actually the President of the United States saying we're all working together. We're all on the same team. And if we continue to create wealth, that wealth is going to go back to the American people. I think, I mean, it's so idiotic. It is so idiotic. His explanation of we're doing so well economically, we're generating so much revenue that we can just hand out these checks to the Americans and we don't have to think about it. He's saying that this revenue is going to come from the tariffs. Does anybody actually believe that? Does anybody actually believe that number one, we've made $1.3 trillion from the tariffs? And number two, the tariffs are actually working. And number three, remember, these tariffs, any revenue generated by tariffs, are essentially coming out of Americans pocket bucks. So what JD Vance and Donald Trump is saying is that we're doing so well economically that you're going to pay us money and then we're going to pay you that money right back. Isn't that great? Like this is idiotic beyond belief. Of course it is because it's coming from the Trump administration and NBC's Ryan Noble's broke down
and whether it would actually work, whether it's a coherent strategy, and the answer is no, of course. How realistic is that proposal? It's absolutely impossible to be frank. I mean, I saw you busily doing a calculator figuring out over a trillion dollars it would cause that money just doesn't exist anywhere. Aside from the fact that there's probably some legal questions to whether or not you can promise voters $5,000 if they elect Republicans. It's not a realistic proposal, but it is a headline grabbing thing that if someone's not paying that close of attention, they might respond to and then up going to the polls and voting. That is also the concern that people kind of just see the headline. They're like, oh, that sounds good. I'm going to vote for it. So that's why it's so important we talk about this and debunk it outright because it is nonsensical. I mean, I would love if that was a reality where every American gets $5,000 and no questions asked and there's no bribes taking place or anything like that. That'd be great. Wonderful. Americans getting money back, no problem. But Donald Trump doing it, not going to happen. I mean, this guy is a serial liar,
so nobody should take his word for literally anything. And then if you were thinking, well, maybe Trump talked about some coherent policy and other parts of his speech. Well, we talked about it on the show last night, not so much. I mean, Donald Trump made a number of comments about renaming things. So now he wants to rename the Pacific and the Atlantic Ocean to be like, I don't know, the Trump ocean or the America ocean. Or he also said that he wants to rename New Mexico to New America, which is something that he has talked about on social media in the past couple of days and seems to be doubling down on. Now, I don't know if Donald Trump knows this, but constitutionally, he cannot rename a state that would have to be done by Congress. And Congress is not going to do that. New Mexico is not down for that. But he's making this part of his midterm platform. So overall, I mean, encompassing everything we just talked about and much, many, many things of which we are not covering in this video because it would just take an hour. Yeah, not a good day for Donald Trump and the Republicans, not even a little bit. I don't think, again, that they could say to us with a straight face that it was so successful, it was great, it was packed, all that stuff. But anyway, I will leave the video there.
Thank you so much for watching. Please make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment. Let me know what you think about all this stuff. Have an amazing rest of your day. So you can get in on the sports action no matter where you are, including these places. And Georgia, using Cleveland Minnesota Buffalo, Lincoln, Chatham, Arizona.
