Trump Mocks Macron, Escalates NATO Tensions

On April 2nd, Donald Trump took a swing at Emmanuel Macron during a White House Easter lunch,

mocking him over that viral video from last May, where

Macron's wife, Brigitte, seemed to push his face on a plane to be a nom.

Trump imitated Macron with a fake French accent,

tying it to NATO tensions as he pushed for European ships to help secure the

Strait of Hormuz amid. The war with Iran.

The Shreyshot down by Tehran has sparked the worst oil crisis ever,

with prices nearing $200 a barrel and recession fears rising.

Trump demanded Europe step up to protect the 20% of global oil passing through there,

calling NATO allies cowards and saying America might.

Ditch the alliance altogether. French politicians from all sides fired back hard.

Even Macron's critics, like Yale, Braun, Pivot and left-wing coordinator Manuel Bompard,

called Trump's jab unacceptable, especially while millions,

suffer in the conflict. Papers like Le Figaro slammed it as another Trump outburst.

Trump ramped up pressure, threatening to cut weapons to Ukraine via NATO's pro-program,

unless Europe joins a coalition for the Strait. That led to a quick statement from France,

Germany, the UK, and others pledging support, urged by NATO chief Mark Rutt after frantic calls.

Macron pushed back in South Korea, calling a forced military reopening unrealistic and risky

for Iranian missiles. With Trump bowing to bomb Iran hard over the next two to three weeks,

and NATO talks heating up, this trans-Atlantic rift shows no signs of cooling. Any time soon?
