Trump Slams NATO, Threatens Ukraine Aid

On April 2nd, President Donald Trump took fresh shots at French leader Emmanuel Macron

during a White House Easter lunch, joking about that viral.

Video from last May, where Macron's wife Brigitte seemed to slap him on the job before

stepping off a plane in Vietnam.

Trump also ripped into NATO allies for dragging their feet on sending warships to the

Strait of Hormuz amid the ongoing war with Iran.

He mimicked Macron with a fake French accent, begging for ships right away to secure

the Strait where 20% of the world's oil flows daily, but getting a no-can-do after

the war is won.

Later that night in a national address, Trump said the U.S. military is close to crushing

Iran and urged Europe to step up, grab and protect that, vital waterway themselves.

NATO countries have held back, leaving the U.S. to handle most of the heavy lifting while

Tehran slams ships with drones and missiles, sparking the worst oil crisis ever, with prices

spiking toward $200 a barrel and recession fears growing worldwide.

Trump's frustration boiled over, calling NATO a paper tiger, and hinting at pulling the

U.S. out for good, while slamming Britain's carriers as toys.

And Prime Minister Kierstarmer, as no Winston Churchill, to force action, he threatened to

cut weapon supplies for Ukraine's war, pressuring allies into a coalition.

That lit a fire.

Pro-Chief Mark Root pushed for a joint statement from France, Germany, the UK, and others on

March 19th, pledging help for safe.

Passage through the Strait, with Root heading to Washington soon, transatlantic tensions

show no signs of cooling as the Hormuz standoff drags on.
