1:04This is Stevie Jacobs with your news 24 update. Police have charged two teenagers over a ledge stabbing in Sydney's West that left a 17-year-old girl seriously injured. Investigators say several people were involved in a fight before the girl was allegedly attacked. She then ran into the grounds of a nearby school seeking help. A 17-year-old has been charged with multiple offenses, including wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. A 15-year-old is facing an afraid charge. Both girls are due to face court. The new South Wales government has confirmed three new cases of H5N1 bird flu have been detected. Samples were taken from greater crested turnbirds at Port Kembla and at Warriwood on Sydney's northern beaches. A sheer water bird also tested positive for bird flu yesterday in Carindy near Kofs Harbour. There's been a total of 20 H5 bird flu cases in New South Wales and 468 nationwide. 2:06have reached a landmark financial settlement with retired batter Will Pichowski over his career ending concussions. The Harold Sun reports the former Cricketter has secured a confidential agreement for brain trauma he suffered during his playing career. He retired last year. The 28-year-old suffered a total of 13 concussions resulting in ongoing symptoms such as fatigue, vision problems, nausea and associated mental health issues. He suffered the majority of the head traumas playing cricket where he was repeatedly hit by bounces while at the crease. The federal government has announced New South Wales will be the first to benefit from free nationally recognised trade qualifications. The government has invested $78 million to establish the Advanced Entry Trades Training Program and enrollments for eligible New South Wales workers will now open later this year. Experience workers in residential housing and construction, including labors and trades assistants, will have access to the formal training. Other states and territories
