This isn't I Heart Podcast. Guaranteed Human On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering the ride on his motorcycle. I choose Option B. I'm Julie Pinero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. I survived nine months in captivity and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart and these are the survivor files. Every week I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable, abducted, stalked, controlled and nearly silenced.
These are stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth Smart on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Our hometown is not a test tube. 90 miles northeast of Nashville, a battle for the future of America plays out in one small town. Developers with right wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land. We need cities on a shining hill. This is our town, a podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment and fights back. Guess she didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you? Listen to our town on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Bob and Moan Show. All right. A voicemail here, right? Eddie is such a pracker. Okay, you're winning. You won a lot. And you're over here. Oh my god, I won. Like being a little humble, like, okay, you want another one for grabs. You don't have to keep rubbing it in with your screaming.
Yeah, I'm like, I think you get it. Calm down, Eddie. Man, I just feel like when you win so much, I don't want to be like, cool. I want again. Like, you know, you still have to keep the excitement going. Guys, I'd wish like Amy and Lunchbox would step up once in a while. Like, that'd be cool, but they're not. Also, there, there's a lot of room and it's needed for there to be a villain. To be a heel. You're a heel when it comes to games. And I don't mean to. And if everybody here was just celebrating each other for their wins, it would be born. That's the view. It's like you might say fight about politics. Yeah. Otherwise, like, oh, yeah, you just, they fight sometimes in the politics. You know, we're not just sitting around. We're friends. And plus I like winning. And you're the heel. You know, like, I like winning. So I'm going to celebrate it. Yeah, I know, but you can celebrate and you don't have to be like, oh, come on, guys. I need a little competition. You're a Lex Luger, man. You're the narcissist. Lex Luger. You're a bad guy right now. Somebody's got to take him down. You know what I mean? I like it. You're a bad guy. All right, you guys, voice mail us up at any time.
87777 Bobby. We are going to, we got a pretty cool thing here because we get famous myths. Like worst mysteries and myths and how likely is it. And there's a pop star draft that we're going to do that we put up. And it's really good. And you're going to hear it in just a second. But it went up and it was a corrupted file. We dealt with it for a long time. And then we just took it down. It's like we'll just put it up again. It's, you remember our pop star draft? Yeah, the file went up corrupted and then everybody got viruses that downloaded it. No, I'm just kidding. Oh, that can't happen. I was kidding. I was kidding. No, that can't happen. But it was something was wrong with the file. And so it's so good. And this is going to be a very, very, very long part too. But now it's fixed. Yes, now it's fixed. And it's really good. So that's all we're going to do here. Made a list of the top 10 world mysteries and myths. And just from you, I would like to know how likely you think it is that it's true. We'll start with number one, a big foot Sasquatch. How likely is it that there's something like that in your mind that exists?
I'd like to think that something out there is weird because people see a lot of weird things. But then there's never really any solid proof. So that part is weird. And you think at this point we would have proof. So I'm just going to go with that. People think they see stuff and it's not true. I think we should do a scale. We're making this up as we go. 10 means absolute truth to you. One means no chance at all. Where do you put that? And I'll read you some about it. Three. Oh, solid. I think a lot of this is misidentified bears. Or animals like that. But so what do you think a big foot is? How would you define it to somebody? It's like what's a big foot? A big, very thing that nobody that's really good at hiding. Oh, you include that in there. Yeah. I'm going to hide. So the definition is a huge, here a human like creature that lives in the forests of North America. Indigenous peoples in the Pacific Northwest had stories about wild human like forest beings long before the modern big foot craze.
The modern phenomenon exploded in 1958 when enormous footprints were discovered near Bluff Creek, California. Those footprints eventually became a media sensation. You know, is it possible? This just popped in my head. That at one point there was something like a big foot, but other animals have gone extinct. And there was a limited amount. And it was a version of a human. And they just all died out. I'm sure great thinkers have thought this already. This is not something that I'm going. Eureka, no one's thought of this. But I think it's probably a lot of misidentified animals and hoaxes that once something is possible, people want to make it seem probable and they can get attention. And this is even before clickbait, but there were old videos. Like there's an old video. And if I showed it to you guys, you guys would remember it. I've like, is that thing going to the woods? Like the 80s maybe? And they could never disprove it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You ever see that one? Yeah, I remember that one.
I also think a lot of folklore is true, but every generation or every ear that it gets talked into, it gets embellished a little bit more. I think that's the problem with old stories. It's probably just some six foot eight hairy man at one point. So you put it at three. I think that's fair. If I were to put it somewhere, I put it at three two, not that a bunch of these exist now, but that at some point, there probably was something that made people go, that's not normal. They're hearing the hinder since it changed it all. Oh, great movie. What a great movie. Made that thing lovable. What, Bigfoot? Yeah, yeah. Haring the hinder since for Bigfoot, Alpharalians made it lovable. Made them just you wanted to hug them. So Bigfoot was only North America. I didn't realize that. So I think that's again, we live in North America. So whenever they describe it, I think there are different names, though, because you have one of the dominoes snowman. Yes.
So same concept, but Arctic. I think there are different versions of this. And they all aren't even large because you guys have the Coupic obra, which is not really. Yeah, exactly. I want to say about a set of white, which is not the same type of creature, but that ain't real either. Was it possibly like an armadillo or something that was like deformed? And go, yeah, something. So yeah, like three. Where would you put it? Two. Two, that thing's not, I mean, it's not real. If you think about it, there are people everywhere. Like we're all over this world. You think like, oh, you go in the middle of nowhere now, someone's nearby. That's why I said they're good at hiding. But there are so many, I would say so many. And we could probably look up a number of tribes that we have never even talked to, never even seen that exist in places that we have never been. Right. Specifically. Right. So there is still parts of Earth that we as a Westerner with maps and camera places we haven't been. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Like when my ex has been, had the land, the crash landing when his propeller full office plane,
and he had to land in a remote swamp, body of water in the Adarondack mountains. I don't think a human had ever been in that body of water. I think that's what I remember reading in the article that was written up about it. Like, and then when the helicopter, the only way to get there was a helicopter came and dropped a rope and like picked them up because it was so remote and human just hadn't been there. Yeah. So I don't think there's a big foot running around now, but I'm basing my three on at some point. There possibly could have been something large. And then that turned into a bunch of hoaxes. Yeah. There are almost 200 groups of uncontacted people around the world. 200. That's all right. Primarily in South America where they're 120. Thanks. So uncontacted people on land we have never seen with situations we have never observed. Yeah. I'm headed there soon. South America. Maybe I can make one. Going to Ecuador. That's one of the reasons. I'm going to be in the Andes. But you're not going to where people... We might go on a hike.
Even in Mexico there are indigenous people that you can't even go in their area. Yeah. Amy's acting like she's going to South America though. She's going to go where no one's ever been. I am going to a little bit more of a remote. Yeah. That's fun though. Place not like big city. A lot of it's monster. It's number two on the list. One. Oh, jumped out with the hard one. Isn't that the water... A water creature? No. So in Scotland? That's where the lock is. Yeah, the lock. The great... The great... Because Nessie is the name of it. Right? But this is before I dive into this. Because that's why it's locked Ness because Nessie is the name of it. Ah, and lock is the body of water. And then monster would be what? Vers. So to me, I'm going to put this at a two. I don't want to do haves. But I think it really could be a real... Just a really large reptile. It's just... It could be an eel. But even then, they've never pulled up anything. That's a really mess. Yeah, whatever it is. Like, have you ever seen like a 60 pound catfish?
Yeah. They're ugly. They shouldn't exist where they exist. Even in mountain pine. Like, watch out. We have massive catfish. You don't catch them with a rod and reel. You don't get them unless you... Man, even trial lining. Rarely. You ever see TikToks where people go under and they pull them out with their fists? Yeah, noodling. They look like aliens. They're so large. And so that's abnormal. But I think this could be an abnormal something that also is hoaxed way later. There are so many water creatures that don't look real. Like, if you just search, like I just like look how fake all of these water creatures. All those look like they're on that Disney thing where they... In their real. Zootopia. They all look like creatures from Zootopia that we made up. And they are... And they are... They're just... They're right now. And they're crazy. So that's the only reason I would give this like a three is because there's so much we don't know about the water. But the Loch Ness Monster, a giant creature, often imagined as a long neck prehistoric sea reptile, lives in Scotland's Loch Ness.
It's named Nessie NESSIE. It became a worldwide phenomenon in 1933. Also anything in 1933 fake. Faking stupid. So... It definitely could be something like even a massive seal in 1933 that they thought... But... Wow, that's a monster, but it was a really big seal. But it was 1933. How they're going to prove anything and then people just sort of faking it after that. Well, there is the picture. Yeah. The old picture. But there... From the old picture. There hasn't been anything new. No, that famous picture with the hoax, though. You sure? I'm almost positive that picture was exposed as a hoax. Because it looked like it had two humps or whatever sticking out. What about things that are prehistoric even that still exist now? It's just that Loch. It's just hard. It's not the ocean. Unless there was like a channel from the ocean to get there. What are you talking about? What are you like, like, alligators and like... I would say... In the ocean, there's so much that we haven't discovered. Oh, yeah. We can't know the depths of the ocean.
It's more in discover than it is space to the moon. I just don't think it's real. But I could see it being something that people confused and not just a total hoax. Like a really big seal. Or if there was, let's say, underground tunnel to the ocean. Something accidentally got in. They didn't know what it was. Ooh. That's cool. Like, swam through. Yeah, the original photo was a fake toy submarine. Oh. It was exposed in 94. They really fake that crap. A toy submarine. They weren't even trying to get clicks either. Clicked and even exist back then. I guess they were trying to sell papers. Uh-huh. Get your papers. We got the picture of Nessie. Oh, look at this. Okay, so I compared them. So they may be a bit different. But the... Abominable snowman. Also the Yeti. So this is a Bigfoot cousin. I just thought they'd be similar. It does say Bigfoot's Himalayan cousin. A large, hairy human like creature living in the mountains of Tibet.
So this is probably somebody in a coat, right? It's cold. Yeah, yeah, yeah. A white coat. Just a killed like a polar bear and then more the coat. Yeti traditions have existed forever. I just know nothing about the Himalayan's. At least on the North American stuff, I can talk a bit about that because I've been to a lot of these places. You have no idea. I just think it's a bear probably, right? Yeah. It's like it's another polar bear that probably had the maine or some disease and it just looked different. Okay, next up. The Bermuda Triangle. That thing used to freak me out on unsolved mysteries. Yes. Because this is where boats or planes or whatever would go missing. Disappears. So... Ships and airplanes mysteriously disappear in a triangle between Florida, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. This is actually a modern myth developed in the 20th century and it exploded in popularity through books, magazines and television. I believe it. So it isn't that...
So ships didn't go missing? Okay, so they did. Okay. So I look to see show me all the things that disappeared. And so I don't know what NOAA stands for. I'm sure that's some sort of water body. But it says that there's no evidence that mysterious disappearances occur there to higher rate than any other large heavily-trained areas of the ocean. So there are things that have been lost or crashed or insert tragedy at that part. But there's so many other parts of the ocean, two nearby where that happened. It wasn't exactly in that triangle. I just... The supernatural explanation, I don't believe. I think it's just... There's so many things flying over that area or boats in that area that it's in numbers game that you're just going to have accidents there. And then once somebody goes, the Bermuda Triangle, four things this year, you go, oh, there's probably something to that, which then creates other people finding reasons to believe it's true and create what would be the legacy myth of the Bermuda Triangle. I remember reading maybe in college, high school, maybe, about a theory that that is where there was an area in that area where
radio signals just would not reach. It was almost like tower tower tower and there was a dead zone right in that Bermuda Triangle area where some ships would wreck or some ships would sink, some aircrafts would crash. But that other ones would not. They would just go in and out of range. That's interesting. Well, I never saw that. I never saw that. I never saw that. All together. One of the things too is that area has a lot of traffic. And again, it's just a numbers game. If there's a lot of people moving through there, you're just going to have more accidents there. But tomorrow they come out. No, aliens, they really regulated that area. But yeah, what do you think about that one? I'm going to steer. I don't, I guess we don't have proof that that's exactly what happened. But given that it's nickname as Devil's Triangle, Oh, I didn't know it was called that. I'm going to go with a five and I'm going to steer clear. Whoa, I've already called the Angels Triangle. Oh, what you did. No, it's made that out of the devil's. Also, it could be that there's a lot of hurricanes in that area over one year and you lose a bunch
in a year and that's where the myth comes from. Sure. Like I still just want to avoid the area. Even if it's a myth, like, don't you know, where did you hear those call the Devil's Triangle? Just right now on the internet. Really? I was trying to read about what NOAA. Yeah, what's NOAA? NOAA is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Oh, good for you. I have trouble saying Bermuda, but you nailed that. The next one is Atlantis. What do you know about Atlantis? I don't know. What comes to mind if I say that? Something Greek. Mythology. Atlantis. Isn't it a resort in the Bahamas? Well, that is true. I have it. It's not that. Lunchbox, if I say Atlantis, what comes to mind for you? That vacation place where they have the big slide. Yeah, Bahamas. I've been there. I've stayed there. You have? So it's real. Well, that's real. So then that's what it is. In this one, Atlantis is real. So what is it? I don't know. So it's an underwater world. Yeah, it was swallowed by the ocean. And apparently it was very advanced and it's underwater. And Plato wrote about it at first.
It's kind of where the mermaid lived. Now. What do you mean? burial. It's where she's from. Oh, really? I don't know if Ariel's from there. But like, yeah, that's the myth. Oh, well, then this is a one or a zero. Whatever the lowest is. Why? Because mermaids are involved. It's totally fictional. I think that when it was written about, it was written as an example of what society is and could become more than what actually was and it was interpreted wrongly. I think when Plato wrote the story, he wasn't writing it as truth. Now, a lot of people would argue with me. But because I'm no expert in that, I do enjoy reading a little bit of the mains. And that would be Socrates, Plato, Aristotle. Those are the mains of me. The main philosophers. But there are a lot of underwater civilization. Like towns for sure. Because I mean, that's just part of flooding and all that. There's a lot of proof of that.
I think that this though was described as technologically advanced. But I also think just from my reading that those pyramids weren't built by ancient, lead, disadvantaged, technologically disadvantaged people. I think there was probably some sort of advanced technology, even then that has been wiped out and we kind of had to start over. Because you don't build them as perfect as that in those exact spots with their limited knowledge that we assume they had. So yeah, I... There also, riddle me this, there could have actually been a disaster of a town that was flooded. And it was used in a story. But then it was exaggerated for effect. Yeah. Like a learning lesson was taught. There was a town. It wasn't exactly technologically advanced. But then he used that as a way to go. This is where society's going. I like that. Anyway, I like that. I don't think that Atlantis... Because it is resort though, I'm going to have to go with it too.
It is a real place. Did you do the slide? Do you have to? That's the big tube that goes underwater, right? Maybe it's been so long. Oh man, that thing looks so cool on TV. I was living in Austin when I went to Atlantis. And that's 15, 16, 17 years ago. That's a couple more Roswell and the alien crash. No, what? Yeah, 90. Yeah, 90. 90. In 1947, the alien spacecraft crashed near Roswell, New Mexico. The government recovered the wreckage. And possibly they recovered alien bodies and then covered it up. Now, here is what has for sure happened. Something did happen there. Now, was it what I just said? I don't know. Probably not. Maybe. But something did happen in Roswell in 1947. Because debris was recovered. The army initially issued a statement saying it had recovered a flying disc. They did say that. That story changed. They changed their story. There is absolute proof of them recovering a flying disc
and then changing their story. So that part... Changing the story, what? That it was from a flying disc so that it was a part of a US Air Force craft. They then said the debris came from something called Project Mogola, Classified balloon project. They couldn't talk about it anymore. It was the Soviet. It's Soviet- Soviet- Tots secret. Soviet- Related, yeah. Okay. Now, that does not mean aliens or alien bodies, but it always is weird when someone changes their story. Can we agree on that? Yes. Like, something is being hidden when a story is changed. So... Yeah, it just could be a place where they were doing secret military experiments. Hmm. There's something going on there. There's still something going on there. And did you guys ever watch The Scroozer? Steven Spielberg? No, I never saw that one yet. I didn't hate it. But I did see Independence Day. Great movie. I like when humans fist fight aliens. The disclosure... What? The disclosure day. Oh, just okay. Because I googled The Scroozer and it's a Michael Douglas... Thank you. Drama thriller. Probably a lower movie. I bet that's a good idea.
Wait, disclosure day. Because I... Emily Blunt. So, luckily movie Mike said don't go into it thinking that it's going to teach you about what the government's hiding from you. It's really a movie. I want to watch this. Is there probably something that they've learned about how the government is tracking people and their knowledge of... Hey, we'll say aliens. Sure. But it's really just a good movie. I think if I watch it a second time, I'd have a different experience with it. Because I was expecting something and didn't get that and I was like, I don't really like that. Got it. I liked it more because you told me what to expect. It's just a movie. Watch it. I think I said it was like Indiana Jones meets... World of Worlds. Is it worse than the movie theater? No, it's autumn. Dude, I've watched a hundred movies from that TV right there. Yeah, but you paid 1999 for it? I'm rich. I'm rich. Yeah, divide it. Okay, got it. Yeah, look at me. I'm just asking... I got money coming up on the pocket. You said Spielberg come over. Yeah. And the actor's coming to it in front of me. Live. Seeing it was rentable. I like it. It is for that much money.
I thought it was viable. I know. I know. At this point, it could be rentable. But I mean, the by thing is so dumb, like I'm never going to watch a movie twice. I have a dream in my head though, because I buy them. That at some point, somebody's going to come over to the house and be like, I'd like to watch a movie. And I'm going to go, boy, do I have a library for you. Do you remember those towers that we had with DVDs? Oh, yeah. That's my dream. Do you have wedding singer? Cool. Watch it. It's also a fear of I will not finish it in the 48 hours. If I rent it, then I got to re-render it again. But then I'm not even... Even if I do it twice, I'm not paying as much as I am for buying it. Yeah. Wow, it's 24.99 to buy in 1999 to rent. It should be on peacock next month. Sick. It's good. I'll forget about it by everybody. It's good. Never mind you. If you go into it as I got the fun movie, it's good. If you're going into it as I think what we were led to believe by the press they were doing, that this is going to teach you something that the government's been hiding from you, it's not that. Yeah, because it has that Spielberg style action of like the chase scenes. It kind of falls on and it's very...
Yeah, it's very big. It's very big. And I didn't want that. So, as far as Roswell, did something crash there? Absolutely. Was there government secrecy and a story change? Yes. An alien spacecraft. There is no evidence of that. And there's no evidence of alien bodies. But where do you put that? That's something... Ty, for me. Yeah. I guess I'm not for sure for sure. And hi for me would be seven. Yeah, I can go with the seven. That there's something non-Earth origin happening there. The reason we can't share is because if other countries have recovered more than us, they then have the power over us. Let's say Russia has recovered a spacecraft. Mm-hmm. But they don't know what we've recovered. And they're going, I wonder if we have the best technology. Like we reverse engineer the technology. And all we have to do now that we are the King Dinglings is go take over America because we have the best reverse technology. But if they know what we have or don't have, that will keep them from doing or not doing to us. Or nobody has anything.
Absolutely. That could be it too. Okay. Okay, you want to go to some stupider ones? Okay. Mothman. I've never heard of him, so zero. A giant winged creature with glowing red eyes that terrorized Point Pleasant West Virginia. No. November 5th, don't be a hater yet. November 15th, 1966. Two couples reported seeing a six foot to seven foot tall creature with enormous glowing red eyes near an abandoned power plant. The story quickly spread through local newspapers. Then things got much stranger. Mothman's sightings became associated with the 1967 silver bridge collapse, leading some people to believe Mothman was a supernatural warning of a disaster that was coming. No. Ten. This stupidest one of all. I'm like, do I have a little Moth? Yes. I've never heard of Mothman. Mothman? No. The Chupacabra is here. And that thing apparently drains blood from people, huh? Are they? Yeah. Goats. Goats. That's a Cabra. And Chupa is suck, so it sucks blood out of goats. Did you know that that actually began in Puerto Rico?
I thought it was Mexican. Really? Mm-hmm. But I didn't know that. And so the modern, when do you think Chupacabra started happening? Well, the... I would say the 60s. Interesting, because this doesn't say that. I mean, I'm just guessing. I have no idea when this Chupacabra first sighting happened. The modern Chupacabra legend began in Puerto Rico in 1995. Oh, recent? Like, I wondered, did you guys hear about it as a child child? Yeah, I heard it like in the 90s. Well, yeah, I was a kid in the 90s. I remember having a good Chupacabra t-shirt. So that was like, media. Do it 95, though. Was it before 95, do you think? Because you'd have been, what? You'd have been seven or something, right? I'd have been four. Okay, so it definitely could have been a high five for you. Had you been 31? No. 95? 95. How old was I? Oh, I was 16. I feel like that's so much older, but I don't know. Yeah. I remember it being talked a lot in the 90s, but I just felt like it was the thing that, you know, from the old days.
El Dorado, the lost city of gold. Oh, that's like in South America, right? Yeah, you're exactly right. Yeah, yeah. People go looking for that all the time. Somewhere in South America, and in Chupacabra, by the way, let's go to our Hispanic, rather than for... Believe it. Say seven. Do you think it could have been just like a rabid wall for something? It had been... Animal way to know it was. But it was an animal we knew. We just didn't know what it was. Yeah. Whenever it was seen. Yeah. You? Nine. Yeah. El Dorado, lost city of gold. Where in South America? Maybe I'll go. Somewhere. Oh, no, Amy, I'm gonna go search for it now. We're going to go again. Mikorago, where you going? Echo to her. Echo to her. That's... I've never been to anywhere in South America until, you know, coming up soon. And so now, I'm like, it becomes my whole personality, like anything that mentions South America. I'm like, oh, tell me more. No, but you find it. That would be the... They find the gold. So somewhere in South America was an incredibly wealthy city or kingdom filled with gold. This one started with something that was real.
They got wildly exaggerated. El Dorado originally referred to the gilded one. A ruler or religious figure associated with a ceremony involving gold dust. Eventually, Europeans transformed that person into a legendary city. They've just not found the city of lost gold. They think there's just a lot of lost gold in a city. Like, I told you I drove by where Pompey happened. And they were like, that's the volcano. I don't know. I mean, it's saying it's real. I don't think there's a city made of gold. But it could have definitely been somebody, a ruler who was very rich that had a lot of gold. The legend then grew. That's like the Vatican in a million years. Doing dangerous expeditions to find this still. Yes, they are. And maybe they're just doing it to actually find some gold. Like, there's some gold. Some... But people are dying looking for this. And then finally, King Arthur and Camelot. You guys have any thoughts on this? Do you know about this? I don't know anything about it.
I've listened to a couple podcasts where they tried to prove that it wasn't true and most are successful in proving that it wasn't true, how it was taught. But this is one of those old stories where I don't believe anything because it can be told by so many different people that aren't pictures or video. And word of mouth changes everything, especially through generations. Arthur was the great British King who wielded Excalibur. Excalibur was a sword. Yeah. Ruled from Camelot, he gathered the kings of the round table. The round table is? Uh, table. Yeah. It's a table. That's round. Watch this. It's just evolved over hundreds of years so much as stories often do that it's hard to know what could actually be true. But they could have been a military leader back then. And then the story in a song then turned to a book and then just got funnier and funnier. So this is stuff you listen to in your free time? I enjoy listening to this. You just said I could listen a couple of times. Two podcasts where they were... I also have listened to podcasts where I don't think Shakespeare was real. Oh, that's interesting.
I've heard that, but... In a way of he actually could have been a person. But I think he was used because riding plays back then was seen as something that peasants do. Yeah. And he had nothing to lose. He was just kind of like, I used my name. Use me. Yeah. Yeah. Or it could have been a collection of people using that name. I don't think for what we're talking about Shakespeare was that that was actually what it was. Was there a... Especially the fact this is not on the list. This is me just going off on something that I listen to that's nerdy. Especially the fact that he was never taught or schooled. With the places he wrote about in the language he used. Even riding too. Yeah. It's crazy. So I don't think... But anything that's hundreds and thousands of years old where there really is no documentation. It's just word of mouth. I have trouble going... I bet that's fully true because we have often seen that things get exaggerated. And winners choose history. You win the war, you get to choose history. You get to say exactly how it happened even though it's probably a lie. Or partially a lie. So... Do you care about King Arthur and Camelot?
Do you want to give it a number? I mean, I get. Zero. I get it. Zero. Alright, there we go. Thank you for going on this little trip with me. When I was 14 years old I was kidnapped and health captive for nine months. I survived and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart and these are the survivor files. I just remember this low taunting voice next to my ear saying, shut up, don't say anything. Every week I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up without a doubt he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled and nearly silenced. But these aren't stories about what's taken from them. Their story is about what it takes to make it out alive.
Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth Smart on the iHeartRadio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, this is A's Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network. Our show is extremely accessible to first-time listeners. Each week we talk to someone in show business, aka The Biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, not that great. I actually, can you help me shape this? Yeah. How about we flip it on his head? No. How about we flip this around? Okay. How about the surprise one, man? Well, actually, you think as the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird. Adam Scott. This entire time you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show. I would never let go of that. I have. I would never set expectations for something like that.
It sounds like if the universe allows for something like that to happen. Yeah. I am open to it. I'm always going to accept. Okay. You know, Danny McBride, fine. Yeah. It's all this fragile masculinity exuding. I could smell it walking on the hallway to be honest with you. I was like, is that what I was like, is that what you need? Nope. It's fragile masculinity. Yeah. Ben Stiller, no. I think there's a lot of times out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is. You know what I mean? Like you're like, oh, it's so stupid. Everyone's so dumb. And fake. Right. Fake and also not interested. Or just like, oh, I've got my life. I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode. But he's just so busy. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman.
I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I choose option B. I'm Julie Pignero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Our town is small taders by most standards, right? But to the people who grew up here, it's everything.
What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America? Developers with right wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area. The first thing you see when it pops up is high nears and apple etch. But they weren't just planning houses. We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life. Stop right there. Is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment. God need mental rule! Great! And decides to fight back. Do not use my hard work to sell your bulls**t. They're not just opposing what's being planned for here. Our hometown is not a test tube. They feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration. Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you? Listen to our town on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Jake Brennan.
And on my podcast Hollywood Land, I revisit some of the biggest stories from Hollywood history. Separating the myths people want to believe from the reality underneath them. Like how the story of Marilyn Monroe isn't just the story of a Hollywood icon. Marilyn Monroe has become so iconic that her death can only be explained through conspiracy theories. And for some fans who can't let go, these stories have metastasized from conjecture to accept it fat. So on August 4th, 1962, Marilyn Monroe died. Then the rumors started and she died again. And now, we're going to set the record straight and learn about the way Marilyn Monroe actually died. The third way. Learn more about what happens when fame, media obsession, and conspiracy collide. Listen to Hollywood Land on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It is now time for the all-time pop star draft.
That's Eddie, that's Brandon. I'm Bobby. We will each be drafting five people on our pop star team and you will vote. I don't know how you're going to vote. I guess you can DM me, but by the time you DM me, I'll forget. But let's see whose team is the best. All-time pop star draft. We have a will. Let's see who goes first. Spin the wheel, please. Come on, baby. Big money. Big money. Come on, baby. No whammy's. I need this. That's stupid. Let's go! All right, Eddie is first. 30 taken as your first overall pop star of all time. Wow, number one's a lot of pressure. But I'm going to go with the greatest pop star of all time and that's Elvis Presley. Wow. I did not think after you said the greatest pop star of all time that Elvis Presley would be the answer. I do get why you pick Elvis. I know what you're thinking of. Yeah. And it was between maybe them two. Okay. I don't know that I'm going to pick him. But Elvis Presley on the board. All right. So Facebook's going to have to really vote for you then. Yeah, I sell. Oh, that's all. That's all the older people. That's a tick-tock get-it. Yeah, you get the tick-tock.
I'm here. Brandon, your number two. Oh, it's me now? Yeah, it's not. That's how it goes out of the clock. Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah. Okay, I thought we were spending the game. No, you just go one, two. I thought you were going to say the king of pop, Michael Jackson. Correct. Is that what you're saying? Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Okay. Are you disappointed with those two picks? Did we ruin your strategy? No. No. Okay. It just depends on what you're aiming for. It is all time. But I think I'm going to pander a bit. I'm going to go Taylor Swift. All right. That's good. This is good. I thought Taylor would make it in the second round, but I like it. These were pretty good errors. You had old school, old school. I had like our childhood, and now you have current. So I mean, that checks. Yeah. You know, older. Yeah. Are you? What are you even talking about? Wait, who's older? I'm older than Brandon. Oh, you are? Yeah. Okay. So you are pandering. I'm pandering. I think right now it's very smart.
Going to vote for Taylor Swift. Very smart. Yeah. I'm going Taylor Swift as my number one constore all time. Okay. All right. Back over to you, Eddie. You're round two pick. Okay. I feel like she was huge. Never was a fan of hers, really. A lot of controversy around her. Even, you know, in the last 10 years, I would say she was still controversial. So I'm going to go Madonna. Oh, that's not what I meant. You're really not thinking you're going to say, but wow, man, Madonna. Okay. So Elvis and Madonna. Yeah. Got it. Madonna's a good one. I should kiddie easily been picked on the first round as well. Right. Did not think why set up. That's what you were saying. I wonder what you guys were thinking. I'm going to give the same set up. Okay. A lot of controversy. A lot of a lot of hit songs. Guys, hit me, baby one more time. I'm going to go and bring this piece. I was going to go bring the next round. My next pick was going to be Brittany if it was. Okay. Dang. Didn't make my list, guys. Wow.
Okay, it's over to me. It's tough just getting the third overall pick, by the way. I'd like everybody to know. I got it really is. Yeah. So I would have picked Brittany Spears with this pick. I want to go with someone who has been a massive pop star for a couple of decades. And there are different versions of how popular this star is. And I think now more popular than ever, even though when this person became a pop star, was a massive force. Any guess? Now more popular than ever. So I'm going to go with a current person again. Now more popular. Oh. You have to write it down. Oh, well, because if I don't, if that's not who it is, I'm going to write it down on that. I don't feel like I want to guess to give somebody else. I really don't want to guess it. Okay. My second pick then will be because I'm a believer Justin Bieber. Oh, that's good.
Okay. I didn't think you were going to go that way, but I like it. You said about both my picks. Yes, I know. Dude, that's a solid list. And the reason when Bieber was a kid, like the first YouTube massive star, the first kid that launched from YouTube, massive star. But my wife, who's in her 30s, watched both full sets of him at Coachella, we watched on the screen. Like people are as passionate now. And like he has real credibility as an artist. He's grown from just being, you know, pop putting out easy to make pop songs written by other people and producers to now he's like a real life, dude. Yeah. For sure. So I'm going Justin Bieber as my number two pick on my pop star team. Wow. What a list. Elvis Madonna. All right, Eddie, you have Elvis and Madonna. Anybody else dead? You like to put on there? Yeah. Madonna is not dead. Oh, why did you just kill her? So it's not dead in the physical. She did. She did do Coachella with Sprinty Carbender. There you go. Thank you guys. So I think that I'm going to pander a little bit here too. I believe that if I put her on my list, I think I will definitely
get some good votes out there. Give me Queen B Beyonce. Okay. That's a good one. Thank you. I probably taken her into different realm, but you know what? Really? For you. How about it? I think she fits perfect on my team. Elvis Madonna Beyonce. Very diverse. Yeah. That's true. Especially in decades. Yeah, exactly. All right. Brandon, you have Michael Jackson and Britney Spears. Hmm. I feel like this person will pander. She definitely will. We're all the sand pander every pick now. But she is more relevant now than ever again. I came in like a wrecking ball with Miley Cyrus. Oh, that's a good one. I didn't have her on my list and that's a good one. That's who I added late thinking that you were going to pick Miley. Do you like the catch phrases? Like when I say the song before or should I just say the name? You do you, man. Okay. Yeah.
You do you accept everybody's not saying pander. I use it once and all the sudden you guys learned a new word. I mean, I just wonder. He's only did three times. That's not good. He was third. All right. For my third pick out of five, let's see. I have Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber. So don't use it. Don't use the P word. I'm torn between two. What are the two? No, because you'll take one. Exactly. And one of them, I don't know, it's popped up on you guys list. But one of them is also the P word. Oh, I have a P word on my list. Yep. It's not pander. Neither do I'm going to go with if we're doing greatest pop stars of all time, I'm going to go with the Beatles. Wait. Does that count as a pop star? Absolutely.
The pendant popular star. Pop radio. Aren't they four stars? The Beatles is an entity. I feel like the Beatles are fun. I got you. If you want to play that game, I got you. It's not a game. I got you. Do you guys not feel like the Beatles? Wait, we can vote. No, you could do it. Dude, go ahead. No, I think. Yeah, I feel like nothing to me screamed pop, like them playing Ed Sullivan and watching all those teenage girls scream their faces off. That to me was Justin Bieber and Black and White. They were definitely a pop band. I just didn't know we were going to put a band in there. But you didn't ask. No, no. There were no rules. No rules. Go for it. I like it. The Beatles. But there's nobody that's going to be a bigger band that you're going to take. So you're like, oh, okay, well, now I'm going to break the rules. That's the biggest. You're right. That's the biggest pop band that we know. For sure. That's still just as relevant today. You got B.S. to say covering Beatles songs. You've got all the documentaries coming out. I mean,
it's still man. Why am I helping you? I'm thinking about my next pick and I feel like I'm doing this out of spite and I shouldn't. I should count across. I know what you're going to say. I write it down. It's like go with whatever I was going to do. The monkey. No, no. Okay, so no, what you're going to say. You have what an out of spite. I mean, so you have Elvis Madonna and Beyonce. That number four on your list is going to be here. I'm going to go with the pop star and inspired by your last pick. I'm a pop party. I got a pop party. I got a pop party. I got a pop party. I got a pop party. I got a pop party. I got a pop party. I got a pop party. I got a pop party. One part of the Beatles. Right. Ebony. No. Okay. Well, then put Stevie Wonder on there. One of them. That's just to do what they did. I have Stevie Wonder on my list, but that's a. I feel like that strategic. That was a bad move. I see and that's what I meant by like I'm picking this by out of spite and I shouldn't. But you know what?
Pick Ringo Brandon really spiked me. Do it. Do it. Do it. Brandon, to add to your team Michael Jackson, Bernie Spears, I'm Alex Iris. Man, I am torn and not Natalie. That's not on my list. I'm going to say. Justin Timberlake. I had him on my list. Dang. I'm surprised that you went Timberlake over in sync. Well, I'm thinking now as well, thinking career span, right? What's in sync doing today? Nothing. Waiting for Justin Timberlake to let him do a reunion. Please. I hear you, but I don't think my opinion a massive pop career is really defined by how long you can do it. Well, that's not what I mean. You just said to rate. Well, you said span career span. Well, with Justin Timberlake,
you get in sync. No, you don't as well. You don't get in sync as well. And this is my theory too with Paul McCartney. You get the beat. No, with Timberlake, you get from like I love you on because I think that was his first song. What about Mickey Mouse Club? Okay, you can have pre-stars. Mickey Mouse. It changes everything. I see what you mean. You don't get in sync. But there are no rules. There are no rules. No, the rules are you got to pick them. You don't get to beat them. But it's in the mind. It's in the mind of the beholder. Correct. In the voter. In the voter. However, they want to see it. But they're not going to see. They're just going to see Justin Timberlake. And they're going to be like, oh my god, I love Tim and then the Bobby Cast Instagram. They're like, we'll vote on the poll there. We'll put everybody, we'll put a picture of all of these. Love it. And they can vote one, two, or three. But I don't think Justin Timberlake or Paul McCartney by themselves evoke as much emotion as in sync or the Beatles. Sure, in your mind. But the voter, you guys are out of your mind. It's all in the heart of the vote. But you're not getting J. C. Chazet when you put Justin Timberlake. You're not getting Lich Bass. You're not getting Patone. You're not getting Chris Carpatrick. You're not getting Joey Patone. Right.
Which I had Joey Patone. No, yeah. Take that. I'll take him out. I just picked members of all y'all's bands. Okay, number four for me. With Taylor Bieber and the Beatles. The question is, you all know about the P word. Oh, so Paul McCartney wasn't your P word? No. You think I was going to pick the Beatles and then Paul McCartney? I mean, double down. Oh, no, double down. I didn't think Paul McCartney. What? I know who your P word is. I know who he's going to say too. I thought you would have thought that originally. But then I thought of Paul McCartney. Another P word. Okay. I'll run out of pop stars, guys. Well, I have a million, but I just, there's like tears. I'm going Mariah Carey. Oh, bro, you're so solid. I have it. Because I think she's solid top 10. That was. But I don't think she's anybody's top three or four. I think where we are now. Mm-hmm. At number four on the list.
Mariah Carey is my four. Okay. Oh, we all have one left. Are you going to P word? Should I take P word? Let me look at my, okay, 1950s. We have Elvis, the 60s. Madonna's, huh? The 60s. Elvis, yeah, 60s. 50s, 60s. Got it. Madonna, 80s. Beyonce, 90s. 90s. 2000s. Did you pick Destiny's Child? Right. Just, oh, should I do that? Okay, Palm McCartney, you got 1960s all the way to. You don't have Beatles. You don't get Beatles with Palm McCartney. You get Palm McCartney. You know what, heck, you can have wings. Wings jam. You can have Palm McCartney and wings. It's awesome. What is the wife? Linda? Falling Linda? Linda? Okay. Cool. What do we do here? This is my last pick. Do I go modern? Or do I go with a legend? You really don't have. I Beyonce's pretty modern. She's the only modern. Yeah, you really don't have anybody super modern. Right.
But it is all time. It is all time. And I feel like we can go to modern because, you know, there's just like, like, like Brandon was saying, that career span isn't a lot. For them to be like a huge pop star. But between two P word. E word and R word. P word. I know that one. E word. Oh. Two two two words two names on E word. Two is one name word and R word is one name. Yes, you got my words. Yeah. I think you got my place on my list. Face on my list. Face on my list. Face on my list. All right. All right, I made my decision. I'm going with R word. Rihanna. That's your say ringo. Rihanna. Okay. Rihanna. That is a very good.
Broad choice of pop pop pop stars. Of pop stars. Like it's pretty broad. I like it. I think this feels like at the end of a fan's football draft, where you feel like your team is the best. Just because you drafted them and you were opposed to that. And everybody else is like, I mean, it's fine. That's every year. Yeah, but you're like, no, no, man. This is it. Yeah, I'm convinced of this is one of those pretty good. All right, Brandon. You're fit the final pick. Okay. Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake. Who will you put on your pop star draft? This is tough. Um, I'm between three as well. Give us the words. I've got to be. Mm-hmm. I've got an L. And I've got a W. Why not? Okay, I know all three of them. Not why not, bro. Why not? Judd. I think yours are going to be. What's the devil? B is probably going to be Bruno Mars. I don't know. The L is probably going to be Lady Gaga. Oh, yeah. And what was the other one? W. You know what? The weekend. Whalen Jennings.
My number five. Pick the weekend. And pick Whalen Jennings. Pick the pick Whalen. Oh, man. My number five is Whitney Houston. Oh, that's the W. That's the W. That's the W. That's the W. That's the W. That's the W. That's the W. That's the W. That's the W. That's way better than weekend. Yeah. Good job, dude. Did you guys think W. Houston? Or do you think weekend? You didn't know? You thought weekend? Yeah. Yeah. Wow, I always love you. All right, good team. That's a solid team, buddy. Lady Gaga solid, though, too. If you could play the guy I got, yeah, yeah, yeah. Once way back in my early radio days, Lady Gaga had just put out her first song. It wasn't a hit yet. And we paid her $10,000 to come do a show for us. The Morning Show, my Morning Show, $10,000 total. And she came and was the artist at something we had called Second Chance Prom. Just so adults could get back together. And we had an artist that would play, but usually it was somebody small. But she was so, so, so new.
In the time that we paid the $10,000, till the time that she got there, which was like a seven month period, she exploded. That's insane. People were lined up outside, and you had to buy tickets ahead of time. People were lined up outside just to have a shot to hopefully get in. It was really one of the most lighting and bottle things that's ever happened to me and my career. Because again, there was really no foresight, and I bet she's gonna blow up. Because the pot right as the Kuno, she was gonna blow up. But we paid Lady Gaga $10,000. And by the time to book her then, we looked, it was like $250,000 to get her to come do anything, because she had two hits, but she, you know, super hot. But yeah, I don't pick her, but. The show was awesome. Anyway, you were there. I was there. And I remember the line. I remember pulling up and being like, wow, everyone is trying to get in here because she had to go in that place. As a small couple thousand. Yeah. And were you working for the news then? I was. It wasn't working with me. He was like a news reporter. And I asked you for a couple tickets. You hooked me up. A couple tickets. You're like, Austin $1,000. How did that moment stack up?
Lady Gaga, how would you compare Lady Gaga to playing ping pong with Scott Stapp? Creed. Well, playing ping pong with Scott Stapp backstage before a Creed show was free. Oh, yeah, that's true. But he what me really really good. Really really really you know, you know, you with arms like, why don't find out? Okay, so I got one more pick here. So now I can talk mine out. So P is Prince obviously. Obviously, obviously. Well, I have another P. Who else would you have had? Pink. Oh, pink's good too. She didn't make the Rock and a Hull of Famousy, did she? No. We know we we wrote it for her, right? No, we didn't only because we felt like she was too relevant. And there were certain people they didn't make it this year that we felt like they would die. Yeah, so we put some of them in. So Prince is on my list. Lady Gaga's on my list. Bruno Mars is on my list. Katie Perry's on my list, but not a great person. So I'm going to stay away from her. I don't think you'd drop her. No, thanks.
I'm also have Usher. I've Ed Sheeran. That's a good one. I have, I'm not going to pick it, but when I went all the way through, I did pick a global dominance. Jason Derulo. Why would that come to mind? Global. I don't know. Global. Jason Derulo. Why does it mean global? Are these huge, right? Anyway, Derulo is pretty big. Yeah, but it's a global dominance. I was thinking Abba. Oh, wow. That's it. But I don't, and you picked Elvis, dude. I thought you were going to say, I thought you said you too. Oh, yeah. So that's not let's not give him anymore. Well, it's over. No. It's not over. He's got to pick one. I still got to pick one. Okay. Because you two is a good one. But Abba, I don't think people understand just how big, unless you like know, or you're from Europe, or you look, I don't think you know how big Abba really was. Yeah, yeah. Because all over the world, they were monsters. I have one that is super legend to pick.
And I don't really have an era. I have the Beatles. I don't know if I want to go double era. Another band. You're another band. Okay, you're known with bands. Yeah. Where did they, were they and we are the world? Oh, good question. No. I think Stevie wonders a fun one too. It's a good one. Ray Charles. What are you doing? Gotta stop giving you. I would have picked Ray Charles over Stevie Wonder, though. So once I said Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles was off. Yeah, only. I'm vision impaired. So I can only have one other vision impaired person. We don't want to hold. Too much. Another one that I thought about. And again, I think it was like older pop with Celine Dion. That's a good one. That's a good one. I thought about her. She was doing her thing. And then I thought, Shakira International. For 25, 30 years. Yeah. And then I thought David Bowie. David Bowie is a good one. Yeah. Wow. A lot of options here for that last pick. Well, I also thought somebody that I'm friends with Lionel Richie.
Yeah, that's a great one. We are the world. The ringleader, man. And then he was the ringleader. When I picked the Beatles, I kind of killed me from taking the Spice Girls. Because I was only going to put one band because the Spice Girls. That was my six Spice Girls. You should still do the Spice Girls. I think you should. Please do the Sklobo dominance. I think I'm going to go Spice. Spice with your life. I just, I have a pick that I feel like it's so good for me to pick. But I don't think people are going to get it. What do you mean they're not going to get it? Kind of cruise. I don't think they're going to understand how big of a pop star I was because they're only going to remember from a different phase in his life. Interesting. Oh, I wonder if I'm thinking of the same person. No, who is that? John Mayer. No. Just start with the G. Is that George Michael? No, but I didn't have him way down my list. William, you have Garth in there? Not a pop star. Crossed over a little bit, not a pop star.
I'm sure. I wonder if you're thinking of somebody that thought was fun with Phil Collins though. That's a good one. 80s for sure. But like even when he was at his most pop, he was still dressing like a banker. Kackies with a button. It's a nice skinny tie. Loafers. Okay, I'll tell you who I'm bouncing between. And I don't need any reaction. Fine. Because I've eliminated all the boy bands. Because backstreet boys were definitely going to be up there. But I feel like I'm doing the Beatles. I got to cut the bands out of the rest of it. Yeah, that was cheap anyway. Yeah, so that was one. Jennifer Lopez. I thought a Jay-Lawick one. Yeah, it was a good one. Is she still who you're trying to say? The one that I'm really leaning toward is Frank Sinatra. That's a good one. Because nobody, and he's like the king. But let me tell you, man, back in the day. That's how he was. He was like so many people will just know him from being old. Yeah, I don't, I mean,
I'm not going to help you. But. That's a really good one. The pop star back in the day. I'm going to go with. Prince. The pizza girl. I'm going to have to go to school. That's good. He's just, that's good. I'm going to have to go to school. That's good. Most of the people's lives who are probably watching are listening to this. I just felt like the Frank Sinatra was a little too old. It's kind of like the Willie Nelson syndrome. We only remember Willie Holt. Yeah, even pictures. Willie's always been old. Yes, even when he wasn't. Yeah. So, uh, okay. And he's got Elvis Madonna, Beyonce, Paul McCartney. I think that's your weakest because you just took something out of him. No, he covers the whole Beatles. But yeah. And I think had he been ahead of the pick of the Beatles. That was just thinking that. He's been back thinking four and you're three. It definitely looks like he read me on. I was just thinking that. And Rihanna is at five on Eddie's team. Rihanna. Brandon Michael Jackson, Britney Spears,
Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Whitney Houston. Brandon, that is solid. Solid. I mean, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, the Beatles, Mariah Carey, Prince. Oh, that's solid. I mean, all the every list is really solid. Mike, who's the weakest of all those? You want to see what AI said is the weakest? Oh, here we go. I like that. Trust AI though. Yeah, but let's see what they say. What does AI? What does AI? Because AI, I put them all in and it ranked everybody. AI can't give Paul McCartney the win though. I'm gonna kind of agree with it. You agree with the ranking, AI? Okay. Are you scared of the Paul McCartney? I'll put it up there if you want me to. Okay, let's see what AI says. Go ahead. You know what I believe in it. Oh, wow. You know what I believe in it? I thought Bobby would win. In third place, Brandon. This is according to AI. Still a killer lineup, but slightly less balanced. Everybody listening, don't just, just pause it. Just mute it real quick. Michael Jackson, the greatest pop star ever, Britney Spears, pop princess, Miley Cyrus, versatile, Justin Timberlake, strong, but not top tier,
Whitney Houston, one of the greatest voices ever. Why Brandon's at three? Having Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston is insane, but after that, it dips slightly. Wow. Less total catalog dominance and fewer undisputed goat tier. Oh, goat toaster roster. Okay. Eddie. Elvis Madonna, Beyonce, Paul McCartney, Rihanna. This team screams icon status and longevity. Nailed it. Yeah. Elvis, the original pop superstar. Madonna, the blueprint, Beyonce, elite performer and cultural force, Paul McCartney, Beatles legacy. Thank you, AI. Rihanna hit machine. While this might be the coolest team, it's man generations perfectly. It's loaded with icons. They lose a little edge to Bobby's team and peak chart dominance and overall depth of hits across all members. Oh, the stats. Interesting. So if we go to mine, they call mine the Avengers of pop. Wow. That's pretty good. Taylor Swift, arguably the most dominant artist of the modern era, Justin Bieber, massive global pop force for 15 plus years.
The Beatles, the most influential band of pop history, Mariah Carey, one of the best selling artists ever, and Prince Elite Talent Innovation and Cultural Impact. Why this team wins? Modern dominance, historic dominance with the Beatles. Once in a generation artistry with Prince, chart monsters, they're basically no holes here. Every category is covered at an elite level. Good. I guess we'll start with that then. No, I guess we don't need to vote. Now we will let the people. I guess it's fun. I did not think that I would win if asked by AI. I thought the Brandon would be the winner. I think, I mean, AI is thinking about it in a different way. If you look at it that way, my question you asked it. I just put the prompt up here. So we can see exactly what Mike asked. I said, can you rank each of these pop stars on who has the best and strongest team? This list. Oh, I mean, that's what people are going to do. I think that's good. I'll say it is subjective. Oh, right. So AI gets what? One vote? Sure.
Is it like Torell College? Exactly. What about honorable mentions? Can we... Yeah, I mean, I feel like I actually listed off like... Oh, can you ever list? I think you're a list. Except you didn't have Elton John. I thought you picked him. I didn't. He was one of the ones I was kind of debating. I think because you mentioned him, I didn't mention him again. I thought you were going to say, Coldplay, after Bobby brought up bands. Oh, interesting. Yeah. No, when I was thinking about a possible band to be the Rolling Stones, but... I thought about leading with a boy band, but then I thought, when do you guys would grab the Beatles if I did that? So I knew if I came with the Beatles first. That was strong. There really was nothing else you could come with. I read the Franklin was on my list. It's a good one. That's good. But again, these are just historical people that I only know of from watching documentaries and listening to all music. I didn't get to experience that pop thing. And for me, the Beatles thing is the same, but I've just that Ed Sullivan performance. Like I can think of the Beatles doing Ed Sullivan, playing Chase Stadium, the Metz. I've got to see that a thousand times.
All the girls in the crowd crying. Yes. Who, okay. Biggest pop star of the 50s. Elvis. Yeah. Let's see. Probably Elvis, right? Yeah. But so, to Frank Sinatra, when, so he was 50s, right? So that would have been up against Elvis. The biggest pop star of the 50s. Elvis Presley. Okay. You're right there. I think of his Ed Sullivan show too. Oh, yeah. Frank Sinatra at two. Chuck Berry at three. Oh, wow. Little Richard at four. And then one of my favorites of all time at five. Every day. Oh, yeah. Funny, funny. Funny, man. Yes. That's good. Very short run. Yeah. Yeah. But buddy, okay. Let's go to the 60s. Can you guess who they're going to say? The biggest pop star of the 60s. The 60s. The Beatles. Oh, it still could be the Beatles. Okay. Let's take anybody out. We've asked. That's going to somebody knew. His Beatles are number one. They are. Yeah. They are number one.
They were also the 50s. But who do you think it would be? Somebody that we haven't listed. Or someone that hasn't, there wasn't the one or the 50s. I see this one. I'm going to play the next round. Because I don't have looked up the next round. Okay. The 60s. I guess every all music back then was pop. They didn't really separate. Yeah, I'm like country in Western. Yeah. Like I mean, it was all pop. Because yes, I agree. Like Beach Boys. Oh, what a great, the Beach Boys. I'm not a Beach Boys. Yeah. I've been a good one. Bob Dylan. Yeah. The 60s. 60s. This is. When I tell you to go, yeah, make sense. What's the name start with? I would say it was. If you weren't what's the name start with? Yeah. Is it a band? Yeah. It's a band. Okay. It's a band. And I would think most people fought. Just like Kendrick Lamar, I would think it was either the Beatles or Beach Boys.
No. Oh, Rolling Stones. The Rolling Stones. Yeah. Oh, wow. So they do have the Beatles at number one. But they have the Rolling Stones at number two. Elvis at three, but he was the 50s guy. Aretha at four and the Supremes at five. Wow. That's. Yeah. I have not looked at the 70s yet. So who would we say? Okay. On my list, I almost picked it after you said the Beatles. But I'm just thinking of cultural and chart dominance. Let's have the Bee Gees. The Bee Gees is a good one. The 70s. The Bee Gees are my, would be my Abba pick. Okay. Yeah. Where I, that massive, but I wouldn't think the significance of the Bee Gees is really known by people in America. Yeah. Even though they were big here. Because I mean, I'm thinking about this list, the AI. Yeah. What it was saying. Bee Gees is a great pick. I don't think I ever got there. Yeah. They, I think Barry Gibber would ions in the stream. Yeah. And for him, produce it. Wow. So Nolly and other. Yeah. You. Okay. So I don't get to go with the first step. I don't think David Bowie's big. So he's 70s. Because that's where you are. Yeah. David Bowie. What about like Stevie Wonder?
That's 70s, right? Yeah. Oh, it's good. He lived in a few generations. Because I saw him on the Cosby Show in the 80s. And that's when I became. Yeah. Because there was like the accident where they rear-ended Stevie Wonder. And so the Cosby Show, they go to his studio, the recording studio. And they're like, oh, Stevie Wonder. And he's like in the studio. I'm just going to record a little something. And I don't remember this exactly. But then he's like playing his I just caught to say. And then they have everybody up singing along with the song. That's right. No, dude. No. It's crazy. Because those episodes don't live long now. Because we can't watch Cosby Show anymore. Right. So you just said one. You thought I was going to say Led Zeppelin. That's a. That's a good one. That's a good one. David Bowie. Billy Joel. Yes. That's what we're interested in. I would have put him in the 80s for me. That feels early, early Billy Joel. Yeah. Because like piano, man, I think that's 70s, right? I'd be wrong about that. I would have guessed 80s. Okay, I haven't hit this yet. So I don't know who it is. I'm going to. It's got to be somebody we've mentioned. And I would even still keep abo in there.
Is there anybody we're forgetting from the 70s? I got one. Is there anybody from Woodstock? That was 69. But that does it rolls over. I got a good one. If you were talking about 70s, Barbara Streisand. Oh, that's so good. Oh, yes. If I mean, not me personally, but I'm just saying like, it's okay. It's okay. If you were a big fan. Yeah. Okay, are we ready? Thank you. It's Barbara. Okay, here we go. Come on. In the 70s, it was. Oh, we missed it. Did we miss it? We missed it. We missed it. We're so stupid. I was like, can we? And you know what? All of ours isn't at making the list because at number two was Abba. And number three was Stevie Wonder. And number four with the Bee Gees. Great, great pick there. Number five was David Bowie. We missed it. No way. I'll read you a little. Oh, Elton John. Yes. Elton John. Huge.
For such stupid. Huge. That's huge. You know what I mean? It's fun. Elton John, hit machine. You're a song rock. It may have croaked our rock. Been in the jets. Don't go break in my heart. Multiple albums a year at times back then. Crazy. Huge in the US and internationally. His outfits, his longevity. Oh, yeah. Also, the only dude I've ever kissed on the mouth. The only one? No. I'm almost certain the only dude I've ever kissed on the mouth. Yeah. When did that happen again? A charity event. And we were sick. We were sick. He was that main performer. I was hosting it and telling jokes. So we're sitting together. It was right whenever him and his husband had adopted a child. And he had his iPad out. And he was showing his pictures of his baby. He was so happy. And we had dinner. And there's like eight of us sitting around the table. It was in a big room. And so the whole time, it was for crazy. I'm sitting next to Elton John, having dinner. And so I go up and do my thing and tell a few jokes and do some of the lifting. Like this is how you donate. And you had to pay a decent amount to get into this place
to watch a show. It's a private Elton John show. And so I didn't because I was hosting it for the record. I shouldn't say that to me like, yeah, I don't know. Yeah, he's a photographer donated for the record. So everyone knows. I was supposed to do it. And how much did you donate? And so he goes up and it's just him on a piano. And he has so many songs. He has a prompter of all his lyrics. And so he's playing them all. And at the end of every song, he would stand up and get a standing ovation. It was like built in that. That's funny. So he'd get a standing ovation every song. He'd sit back down and play it in the one. And at the very, very end, he would go down. And he was like shaking everybody's hand and he'd grab some hand and go, plants have big one on me and this keeps walking. No, it's so cool. Yeah, it's really cool. It's really cool. It is really cool. Yeah, Elton John. Wow. Okay. I think the 80s is easily going to be Michael Jackson. Like that's so easy. It has to be Michael Jackson. Who's going to be number two, Madonna. Oh my, Madonna. Madonna's huge. Yeah, Madonna's got to be. They're after you mentioned bands. I mean, in the 80s, I think of like, that's a good one.
Oh, wow. I think of like Cindy Loper. Oh, that's a good one. Cindy Loper. But then, you know, we could talk about like 80s hair bands, but like the cultural impact kiss. Will that be kissing now? They like one couple songs, couple songs. Or they just face paint. Sure. Are you sure? Yeah. Well, what about like Aussie? I bet you know, I think it's good. I think I was these 60s, 70s, 70s. Okay. Because you think like, black Sabbaths. Because Aussie would be the 80s. I think there's no, I think if I said, give me top 50 of the 80s kiss wouldn't be on the list. Top 50. Top 50 pop. Yeah. Yeah. You think they would be, I mean, to have cultural significance, I think that makes you pop. I think they would be in the top 25. I think they would. Top 15 maybe wrong, top 25. Okay, let's go to 80s. Okay, well, you think it's going to be Michael Jackson. Madonna. Madonna. So if I can pull the whole top five here. Okay. Prince. Yes, Prince. George Michael. Oh, I don't really know. Or was that WAM? What was WAM? Oh, WAM, what do you mean? WAM was WAM early 80s.
Early 80s. Yeah. I'm thinking of Lionel Richie. Lionel Richie too. Okay. Let's see. Guys, where was Queen? 70s. 70s, yeah. Almost a minute. All right. All right, here we go. From the 80s, top five. We have Michael Jackson at number one. Okay. Obviously. Number two, Madonna. Okay. Number three. Kiss. Prince. She's still in. She's still in. Number. So we got, we got four of the five. Okay. Number five was George Michael. Okay, so it wasn't there. Okay. Good. Number four was Whitney Houston. So it was MJ, Madonna, Prince, Whitney Houston and George Michael. Okay. 90s. It's got to be boy bands, right? Britney Spears. It's got to be number one. Yes. Britney Spears. Boy bands. Christine Aguilera. Okay, so the boy bands will be battery boys and things. Those will be the two. Okay. I say it's Brittany at one.
Why, who do you think? That's, is it, or how, how late 90s was, was Brittany? And like insane. That was not like 90. Six point. No, it was later than that. No, there you go. There you go. Something like, if you say Nirvana. Yeah, I'm thinking like Kirk Cobain, like the grunge era. I still say Brittany. Oh, I still say Brittany. But I'm thinking for the other ones, like, I mean, you could even say Cheryl Crowe. What about like MC Hammer? Over in a lot of eyes. That's one you're wondering. I'm gonna lie. It's Hammer had a little more. Okay, but we're predicting what they're gonna say. My prediction is gonna be, Brittany, oh, you're right, the back 2000s, though, because that's boy bands. Yeah. It's gonna be Brittany, a couple boy bands. Nirvana. Okay, with early 90s. And two pop. Oh, I forgot about that. The rapper. Oh, yeah, I'm gonna add one for 90s. Selen Dion. Yeah, that's a good one. Selen Dion always felt like old person pop. For sure. Yeah, yes, yes, she did. Like, you know, that the mixed station, 80s, 90s, today.
Easy listen. It was like the three songs from today that they would play under 80s, 90s, and today was Selen Dion. So who's our number one in the 90s? I think you, I don't have an answer here. I think it's gonna be Brittany. I do too. But it's so late. I remember 98, 99 playing that baby one more time for the first time. I was in radio, the teenager. Sure. It, and my Christian Aguilar is massive too, but again, that's gonna be 2000s. Yeah. You want 90s? You want it? Hit it. Top five. The number one is. Boys, to men can't be because it's Madonna. Oh, okay. So okay. And although she came back and had a ray of light, which was a jam, I don't, I don't feel like it's Madonna. I don't know. No, no, no, no. Unless you're going like 90, 91, 92, and that does count. But man, she did hit hard again. Remember this song, Music, when it came out? Oh, yeah. That was awesome. Yeah, in the music. I don't know what you're doing. In the, in the, in the song go. Music. Dance of the rhythm. Yeah, that's it. Yeah, ray of light. Okay, here we go.
Top five. The, so this is, there's only, Michael Jackson's on the list. So that had to be early 90s. Whitney Houston's on the list had to be early 90s bodyguard. I'm gonna ask for some extras here because our list we couldn't have repeats. Mariah Carey. Yes. So. Janet Jackson. Madonna. Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston were the top three. We're gonna knock them off. Okay. There are, let's hear Mariah Carey. Number one, hit machine of the decade. Makes sense all through the 90s. For sure. Number two, Celine Dion. Oh, here we go. Number three, Britney Spears. Backstreet boys because they were a little before in sync and Spice Girls. Very cool. Spice Girls. Yes. Spice Girls have other songs than, uh, we want to become two become one. We want to become one. Do you remember that? Oh, dude. Yeah. Spice. Spice of your life. So they have one to be. They have one to be spiced up your or spiced up your life.
Spice of your life. Is that for the movie? I'm giving you everything. I'll enjoy you can bring this. That's where they go. And this that's where that was sporty. She she brought it. She was actually the sport talent. Oh, what's your real man sport? Yes. Best singer. Oh, well, everything. Yeah. Uh, Spice Girls. Top stream songs. Want to be say you'll be there. Say you'll be there. That's that was that one, right? Yeah. I bought the I bought the single on a CD at Hastings in Pampatex's. Wow. Two become one. So when you're in the air, come on. I don't know, Viva forever. Spice of your life. Okay. Okay. And then let's do 2000. 2000. That's got to be Britney. But if we're not putting Britney and Backstreet Boys in there, it's got to have to be like in sync. It's in sync for sure. We say 2000s. But no. I feel like this is neat. This is also where the rap comes into it. Backstreet or Spice Girls. Big time.
Like the the biggie and then Yeah, we're going in sync and Will Smith Fresh Prince. Oh, now, every 90s, every 90s, every 90s. Is this like Puff P. Diddy? Yeah. This was his time. It was Puff Daddy, R. Kelly. That was that time. That was Puff P. I'm going in sync. And 2000s. It's just a weird era because I don't know. It's Shenaya. Any possibly. Okay. No, pinks are good. Pink was starting to dominate or was that 2010s? Well, what? What do you want? Beyonce. Oh, Beyonce. There you go. Oh, here's a good one. Eminem. Perfect. Usher. Usher. Rihanna. Justin Timberlake. Okay, add 2010. I didn't know it's like, is it Bieber? Oh gosh, who knows? Nickelback. 2010s. Read. Nickelback. Taylor Swift.
Is number one. And then we have Drake. Rihanna Adele Kanye. I was thinking about Adele. For your for your pop star. For my yeah, for my list, but 2020s. Taylor Swift. Edge year in. Oh, that's good. Bad bad bunny. The weekend Drake. Olivia Rodrigo. Oh, nice. Post Malone in the honorable mention. Billy Eilish. So there you go. We did a lot of pop talk there. Yeah, what's going on? Pop talk. Yeah, man. I feel good being the champ. Oh, we still voting? No, you're not the champ. You're not the champ. That was just the guy. So just at is it that Bobby Castor? Bobby Cast. The okay, at the Bobby cast, we'll put it up. Go vote. And. Hey, if I lose, I'll still say I was a winner. Let's see. All right. There you go. Nice show everybody.
