What? Welcome back to Beyond the Box score. I am here and totally prepared. Definitely I'm a microphone ready there. All right, let's roll. It is Rankings Week. We're talking about quarterbacks today. Thank you so much for being here. If you missed it, we have other rankings up already on the channel here Beyond the Box score. You can check out our playlists tab. You'll find hot takes. You'll find all of our draft takes. Our flag plant players, Dan and I. And then of course, the week one rankings playlist is already up here for you. We got running back and wide receiver rankings. We are ready to do this thing. It is time. It is week one. We have football back in our lives today. Wednesday football, Thursday football, Saturday football, of course,
not for the NFL, but Sunday football coming our way to. And if you can't tell, I am very exciting. So excited. So I am going to talk you through my quarterback rankings today. I recognize that they're a little bit weird. And so I want to tell you exactly why take you through some of the things I'm looking at, like the Vegas implied totals and whatnot and give you some historic data on these quarterbacks that we have that is informed my opinion. And hopefully that helps you to make your decisions in week one. I'm going to go all the way through the quarterback rankings to the very end. I'm going to talk about even, you know, Geno Smith's into a tongue by low as in those types for anybody who needs that. You're playing in superflex leagues. Whatever you need. Appreciate you being here. Let's dig in. Lamar Jackson at the top. Don't need to say a whole lot here. Healthy game environment. I guess the one thing to say is Josh Allen is QB4 and that's weird, right? The bills are on the road against one of the nastiest defenses, not only of the current
NFL, but like of recent memory. This Houston defense is crazy good. Super talented. Maybe the bills come out and put up a big number on Houston, but I'm kind of expecting this to be a sort of gross game. And that's what Vegas is expecting to. The overrun during this game is 44 and a half points, which is just middle of the pack. The bills are 13th and implied points for week one. The Ravens are 5th, 25 and a half points is where you find Baltimore. I think this could be maybe a shootout. We'll see where Indies at in terms of their offense. Obviously some players are covering from an injury for the Colts, but only a three and a half points spread in this once a Vegas that's expected to be close. I mentioned that hot takes episode I did. Theal Griminger said that he thinks we're going to see a back and forth game here. We're coming down to the wire with the Ravens taking it at the end in the Mar Jackson getting back to the 50 plus rushing yard mark,
which we have not seen since week one of last year. So that would be great if we get that kind of an output from Lamar who we saw his rushing skill back a bit last year. Still I have him as QB1 for this week. I'm very excited to see what Declan Doyle, the new officer coordinator, is going to bring for Baltimore. Moving on, the next surprise I think pretty clearly is going to be Justin Herbert here as QB2 against the Cardinals. Top implied point total four week one belongs to Mike McDaniel and the Los Angeles Chargers. Obviously defense that they're facing here has a lot to do with that number I think. I would not be surprised if we see Mike McDaniel come out and really put his foot on the pedal, put a lot of points on the board here. I've got some historic data for you. This is over the past three seasons for Justin Herbert in 12 games that the Chargers have scored
28 or more points. Herbert has averaged 24 fantasy points, which is a lot. For the quarterback position he's produced 20 or more fantasy points in 10 of those 12 games. Again, the Chargers have the highest implied point total 28 and a half points in week one. If you look at just games with high overunders for Herbert and the Chargers over the past three years. We're looking at games with an overunder of 47 or more points. Their total this week is 47 and a half. Herbert has averaged 21.1 fantasy points. Last year in four games with an overunder above 47 Herbert averaged 25 points. Per game. I think he's really better than we've ever seen him before is where Justin Herbert has arrived in his career and he also has really good weapons and a really good coach and his line is healthy. I think we're going to see a massive point total from Herbert in week one. I would have a really hard time not starting Justin Herbert and I think he's somebody worth aggressively targeting
in DFS or anything like that. Joe Burrow is who I have next. Got some data on Burrow as well. If you look at and just the Bengals at large. If you look at games that have had an overunder of 50 or more points over the past three years. Burrow is averaged 23 fantasy points per game. Jermar Chase is averaged 25 PPR points per game. 20 PPR points per game. RT Higgins and 19.5 for Chase Brown. The over under set at 50 and a half points between the Bengals in the box. That's the highest in week one. The only game above 50 and a three and a half points spread here suggests that it could be a close one. We might even see a push above 50 if we get a back and forth shoot out a type of game here between the Bengals and the box. And so you'll see I'm also very high on Baker Mayfield comes in at QB 8 in my rankings. I think that's where I deviate the most. Actually knows Jordan Love. If you look at my rankings compared to Kitsensis. Baker is at QB 14. I have Baker at QB 8. I would
start Baker ahead of Trevor Lawrence. Jaden Daniels. Jackson Dart. Jared Goff. Matthew Stafford. I would start Baker ahead of those guys. Obviously any one of them could outscore him. A lot of those guys are in games where they could put a lot of points on the board. Like maybe we see Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence put up a huge point total in week one and Trevor outscore is Baker. But I think more often than not, Baker's going to outscore them in what looks like a really, really good game environment. And I do also think that there's a lot of upside for Baker in this spot. I don't have a large sample size on Baker Mayfield. I think it was just four games. A Baker Mayfield in games with an over-under above 50 points over the past three years. For what it's worth, he didn't play super great in those games. I do have a slightly larger sample size of him playing in games with an over-under above 47. And in those games, he's averaged over 20 points per game.
If you're watching on YouTube here, it says 19.4. One of those games he was injured and did not play more than just like a handful of snaps. So in games where it's been a healthy offensive environment back and forth here for Baker. During his time with the box, he's been very productive. You see that number is like above Jared Goff, above Dac Press Scott, above Brock Purdy and Jordan Love in these types of games where the over-under has been 47 and a half points. I do think it makes sense that if this turns into a shootout Baker could be in store for a huge point total. So I'm relatively confident in him this week, I have him starting above basically guys who I have a lot of question marks with, even though there is upside, you know, Jan Daniels terrified of what that's going to look like without Larry Muntonsoul on the road against the Eagles. I would start Baker there. Trevor Lawrence could be a game where they happen to score their touchdowns on the ground early and then don't end up passing all that much after that. I think that Jacksonville will stay
aggressive. I'll get to that in a moment here, but it also could be a game where Jacksonville's offensive lines struggle. So I believe that the past actually still has a lot of talent on it. So I do think there's risk there for sure with Trevor Lawrence, Jackson Dard of course there's risk. We don't really know what we're going to get from him and the new coaching staff with the Giants. Jared Goff is an interesting one. I think you could start Goff over Baker. He's could be 10 for consensus. Baker's could be 14. I'm fine with that. I do think this is a game where they might lean on the ground game if New Orleans can't keep up. I just like that Baker's game feels a little bit more likely to be a back and forth game. But if Goff's game turns would go back and forth game, I could see him outscoring Baker. I really like Goff this week. I don't necessarily mean to be low on him relative to consensus. For what is worth I dug into with the historical data? He hasn't relative to the rest of the league and the increase that is expected at the
quarterback position when getting into these back and forth games. Goff hasn't been as influenced by the Vegas, the high Vegas lines and stuff like that. He's been relatively steady. He obviously has good home splits and this is a spot where I think he's a great start. But I also think New Orleans defense is a little bit slept on. We'll see how this game goes. I think Goff is a rock solid starter, but I just don't. I think in a few instances here, I would lean more towards I think the upside to some of these other quarterbacks who have more rushing. But with Goff, like I absolutely, I mean, that was another one of Theo's hot takes. It's been one of mine this year. We could see in every piece he's in from Goff. We could see 35, 40 plus touchdowns from Goff this year. I think that's realistic. If Detroit's secondary struggles and Tyler Schuck is able to put points on the board and this does get into a back and forth game, that could be really, really fun and you could see Goff at the end of it being one of the top scores at the quarterback position
this week. So I do not mean to be low on him or talking to anybody off of Goff just because I personally lean a little bit more towards rolling the dice on some of these quarterbacks who I think could give me additional rushing yards and touchdowns on top of potentially a good passing output too. All right, let's let's just talk about Trevor Lawrence. Actually, let's talk about Caleb first. I skipped over Caleb. I have Caleb Williams for audio listeners. My quarterback, quarterback, rankings are Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and then Jalen Hertz. Obviously, it could give us a huge total here at home against the commanders. We'll see maybe Sean Manion wants to really show us who he is in his first game here. Maybe we get a lot of points from Philly. And then Caleb Williams is next. QB6 and then Dak, Prescott, QB7 and then everybody that I just talked about Baker, Trevor, Jaden Daniels, Jackson Dart, Jared Goff. So let's talk about QB6. That is Caleb Williams. We've got a 25.25 point implied point total for the Bears. That's the
seventh IIS. That's above the Eagles. That's just below the Cowboys in the Ravens. The over under in this game is 47 and a half points, which is very high. That's tied with the Ravens cults. That's just below the Cowboys giants. That's tied with the Chargers Cardinals. It's a very healthy projected game environment. The Bears are only three point favorites. So not getting much respect here for this Bears defense. It's a little banged up in the secondary from Vegas. Not much respect here. Panthers implied point total is much higher than normal. We'll get to Bryce Young later. So, one point, all of that out as we think about this potential, potential shootout spot. I think both these teams might want to establish the run. That is something to keep in mind that could hurt this projected game environment if it ends up becoming a bit of a slog. But for what it's worth
in nine career games with and over under a 47 or more points. Caleb is averaged 22 fantasy points per game. So that's very strong. I think we could see something like that in this spot. And then this will transition to Trevor Lawrence with this. I've got this is games where last year where the quarterbacks teams scored 30 or more points. I was looking at this because Trevor and the Jags are expected to have a good output 24 and a half points from Vegas is their implied total. But not like a monster one. And I think that that makes sense because the Browns the Browns just can't keep up. The Browns have the lowest implied point total of the week at 16 points. And so the over under in this game comes in at just 40 and a half. And so it's seen on paper, like you kind of have to temper your expectations here if you're Vegas. Because it could be such a gross game if the Browns just can't facilitate functional offense. Can't get first downs.
But I also think it's possible that Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence might just put a lot of points on the board no matter what the Browns do. And the Browns going three and out might just give them more opportunities to put explosive numbers up on the board. So what I've got here is that no team produced more drop acts while playing with a two score lead in 2025 than the Jaguar. So there's some precedent of just keeping the foot on the pedal from this from this team. 51% drop-back rate for the Jags when playing with a two score lead was fifth in the NFL. And they had a 42% rate with a three score lead, which is very, very high. Well above the league average, only the Patriots produced more drop acts with a three score lead than the Jaguars. I think we could see one of these games where Trevor gets up into the, you know,
two, three, four touchdown range. And they just keep, they just keep pushing. So he's QB2 in games last year where his team scored 30 or more points. He's QB7, but it's out of just 11. I wanted, it gets quarterbacks who had at least eight games. Sorry, this is not clear how I'm presenting this. There were 11 quarterbacks last year who had at least eight games where their team scored 25 or more points. And out of that group of 11, he was QB7 in points per game in those games. So we're really hoping for a like run it up game here in the split where they scored 25 or more points. He was about average below out just a little bit below average. But in the split where the the quarterbacks team scored 30 more points, only Caleb Williams averaged more points per game than Trevor. And I think that that's the relevant point here that I'm trying to make. And I do think it's relevant to Caleb as well. I think we could see one of those types of games
here. I think Caroline is defense is kind of like the saints is like a sneaky defense that might be, you know, a little bit underrated. I'm really, really curious to see how the Bears receivers do against these cornerbacks. I hope Roma Dunes they suits up so I can see Roman and Luther Burton go to work against these corners. I'm really curious how that one will play out. I think there's a chance that we could see a really big point total from Caleb Williams. Of course, somebody who can rush as well. I've got pretty high hopes for Caleb in year three based off everything we're hearing out of Ben Johnson based up what we saw in film last year. So QB six for Caleb, I think there's upside for him to lead all quarterbacks in points this week. Okay, that's basically the top 12. I'm going to spend a little bit more time with Jackson Dart after this first break. And then we'll get into the fantasy QB twos. We're looking at for deeper leagues, 14 team leagues or whatever or super flex leagues, whatever, maybe DFS, wherever this
information is relevant to you when I get into these QB twos after this break. All right, Jackson Dart, I have ranked ahead of Jared Goff. I'm ahead of Matthew Stafford. I had to, you know, Patrick Mahomes, Drake May. I'm a little bit nervous that I just don't know what we're going to get from this coaching staff. I'm a little bit nervous. They might try to go really run heavy this year, but I do feel decent in this spot, especially if Dallas's offense is good as everybody expects them to be. So in games where Dart's New York Giants allowed 25 or more points last year, he averaged 38 drop-backs and 21 fantasy points per game. That is what we're looking for with Dart. We just want the drop-back volume. He's been so good on a per drop-back basis to this point in his career. He's a really underrated explosive play creator, and then obviously
is a threat to pick off and scramble on any given drop-back. And, you know, I think he's got better weapons, healthier offensive line than last year. So I don't know what happened to my screen here. Here we go. So with that said, I'm tentatively in on Dart. Of course, I still am a little bit nervous about the Giants overall, but in week one, I'm willing to take a chance on this. In terms of the Vegas information here, he only played two games where the Overunder was above 47 points last year. He did score 27 and 20 fantasy points in those games. So with a 48-and-a-half point, Overunder, a third highest in week one, I feel pretty good about Jackson Dart here. I want to talk about Jordan Love. He's my QB-13, and like I said
earlier, I'm like way higher than consensus on Love, who they have at QB-21. On the road, against Brian Flores, I get why that might be concerning. The Vegas expectations aren't, you know, overly worried about it, though, it doesn't seem. Same applied point, total for the Packers as like the 49ers above the Colts, like above the Sains who are potentially here to shoot out against the Lions right in the middle of the pack for the Packers. And I think we might see a really pass heavy game here with the running back room presenting a lot of uncertainty to this Packers coaching staff at this point. What I've got here on the screen is Quarterbacks, who have played multiple games against Brian Flores. I think this is, yeah, past five years of data. So the average for this group is 0.48 fantasy points per drop-back. Jordan Love is well above that
at 0.57. That puts him fourth among this group of 16 quarterbacks behind only Jalen Hertz, Justin Herbert, and Josh Allen in terms of fantasy points per drop-back against Brian Flores. We got his game log here against Flores. I liked that they've pushed the drop-back number very high in some of these games. He's been above 30 in four out of the five games, pushed all the way up to 49 in 56 in a couple of these games. He struggled against him last year, for sure. But in the other games, he has 14, 15, 28, and 28 fantasy points scored against Flores. So over the past three seasons and five games, he's averaged 18.4 points per game. I do think it's worth noting that he had this, I remember vividly this game, yeah, I was like early in the season week four, in 2024, where at the beginning of the game, love through, I think, three interceptions or maybe even four
interceptions right off the bat against Flores. And the Packers just look completely flustered. And he came back in almost one five hundred seventy four air yards in that game, ended up throwing for 389 and four touchdowns. And in the games following that, he's been much, much more conservative. Love has been against this Flores defense. So that's maybe something worth noting. He only has 14 and seven points in the two games since then. I think it's totally fair to be afraid of Flores and avoid this spot. But the Vegas expectations don't necessarily suggest that we should. Love's historic efficiency in this spot doesn't necessarily suggest that we should. And then just the anecdotal, like, expecting this to be potentially a pass heavy game script from the Packers. I think there's a number of reasons to be into love in this spot. So
I'm very, very curious to see how this game's going to play out. We've got love against Minnesota and Flores and that's obviously entertaining. And there's a lot of question marks hungry, based offence. I'm curious about how the target distribution is going to shake out, how the playing time is going to look like at the running back position, how much Tucker Kraft are going to get. And then on the other side of the ball, we have Kyla Murray and his first game for the Vikings against his former coach, Jonathan Gannon, as the defensive coordinator for the Packers. So maybe Gannon gets the best of him because he knows Kyla pretty well, or maybe it's the opposite. It's Murray facing a coach who he's practiced against many, many times. And also facing a defense that is without its core essential best player and has some question marks in the secondary and is playing its first game with a new coach. Very interesting spot here for anybody like playing DFS. I'm curious if people are going to use the players on this game or
vote kind of avoid it because you don't know what to expect. I'm definitely intrigued to see how this one shakes out and I come in a little bit, I think since this on both love and Murray. This next range is really, really weird and this is the range that I expect to get roasted on in the comments or whatever. I don't think any of these players are necessarily bad starts. I think this mostly speaks to the fact that I think quarterback is really deep. I just don't know. I'll just read it to you if you're if you're not illicit or it's a Matthew Stafford against the Niners at QB 15. Malik Willis on the road against the Raiders at QB 16, Drake May, at QB 17 on the road against Seattle, Brock Birdie, QB 18 on the road against the Rams, Tyler Schuck, QB 19 on the road against the Lions and then Patrick Mahomes at home against Denver on Monday night as QB 20 followed by Bonix. In that same matchup, at QB 21, Nick's expert consensus ranking is QB 17. So the only
quarterback that I just mentioned who are higher in expert consensus rankings are Brock Birdie at QB 15, Kyler Murray at QB 16, Matthew Stafford at QB 13 and Drake May at QB 9. So consensus has Nick's above Patrick Mahomes, above Tyler Schuck, above Malik Willis and above Jordan Love. I don't know what to think of Nick's in this spot, which is kind of why he ends up below the rest of these guys. The Vegas expectations are bad. 20 and a half points for the Broncos in terms of implied point total. That's tied with the Titans. That's tied with the Patriots, which you'll notice that I'm quite low on May this week. Only basically the worst offences and the commanders will see where they shake out this year. Have a lower implied point total than the Broncos. For what is worth, Nick's has been pretty gamescript resistant. He's been able to muck it up and survive some of
these gross projected game environments. So in games with an over-ender below 44 points, only Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hertz, Baker Mayfield and Trevor Lawrence have averaged more fantasy points than Nick's over the past two years. He's averaged 17.8 points per game in these kind of grosser game environments, which is pretty solid. And then in games where his offense actually produces fewer than 21 points, other implied total is 20 and a half. So when that's actually been the result that the quarterbacks offense has scored fewer than 21 points, he comes in well above average. The average is 11 points per game. He's at 13.4. So here's this data. It's the past two seasons when a quarterback, when their offense has scored fewer than 21 points. Nick's QB 11, you see Drake May is QB 7. Pretty much Russian quarterbacks have been able to mitigate it in terms of gross game environments, which makes sense, just because they get the extra points as Russia's,
they're not quite as reliant on success through the air in terms of touchdowns and passing yards as other quarterbacks might be who might really get hit hard by a game where they're often struggles. That's, I guess, worth mentioning with Nick's N.A., but still, congrats on being better than other quarterbacks when it comes to these gross games, but still, do you want 13 points? Not really. Do you want 14 point A points from Drake May? No, not really. That's not really what I want. So that's why they come in a little bit low in the rankings as I just don't like the projected game environment here. I don't know if the chief's offense could be wrong. I don't know if they're going to put a ton of pressure on Nick's and the Denver offense to keep up. I could definitely see this being a 13 to 10 game or something. Something real gross, that would not surprise me here in week one. I think the chief's defense is going to be better
than people realize. Maybe it will take time because it's a lot of young pieces playing together for the first time, but there are some exciting young talents on the chief's defense. Then obviously the Denver defense, we know who they are. They get expectations, seem to agree with the sentiment that I laid out that this could be gross. The chief's defense can be better than expected and nevermind struggle in this spot. But did want to at least point this out that Nick's does have a history of surviving even in these even in these gross Vegas projected games. Here are the Drake May games where his team has scored 21 or fewer points. They're implied for 20 and a half. So you see, the average is not bad. I said 14 point A, but if you throw out this game or you barely played as a rookie against the Jets, then the average is actually 16 point one. That's not bad. You take that, right? I'm fine. If you want
to start Drake May over Malik Willis, is Malik Willis going to get 16 points? I don't know. He might get six. He might not have a good game at all, but I do like the matchup against the Raiders. I think he could give you a lot. I mean, he sounds crazy, but he could give you 16 as a Russia. Malik Willis could score a ton of points in this spot. That wouldn't surprise me. The dolphins are not really even that far below the Patriots and implied points. It's only two points below the Patriots. I think that in this type of environment, they're expected to score a lot more than usual. Malik Willis makes sense that his projection gets a bit of a bump. But if you want to start May over him, if you want to start May over Kyler or whatever, Jordan Love could be, you know, we saw one of those games against Minnesota to our level and they scored seven points. So 16 might be fine. You feel pretty safe with May, even though we saw at the end of the season last year, at the end of the postseason, there were some pretty bad ones. But I think that they'll be better. On offense this year,
line should be better. H. Brown, obviously, Romeo Dobbs, those guys present, improved, options at White receiver, even adding Elyse Rareden, I think is an improvement. Might help the run game and another viable pass catcher. I think that the Patriots offense should be a lot better than last year. And the Seahawks defense is a little bit banged up, probably not going to be as good as it was during the Super Bowl, if I'd have guessed. That makes sense to me. But yeah, the Vegas expectations are not good. And the top of what May has done in these bad games, these like games where the Patriots have scored 21 or fewer points, the top output you have is 20.8, 19.5, 19.2. It's not bad, but yeah, I just don't know if there's much of a ceiling in this spot. I hope that I'm wrong because that would be pretty dang fun if Drake made came out and put it in the haters face in the first game. But yeah, I don't know. I don't know. I'd rather take a shot on a three touchdown game from Jordan Love or a big rushing game from Malik Willis or whatever, four touchdowns from Matthews Stafford or something. I just would rather take a shot on some of
those upside cases over May, I think, because we know it could be gross too. We could see New England and blow it here again. If Seattle just has their number, it might be Donald Man. Not somebody I want to test. Brock Mertey is Brock Pertey is who I have next at QB 18. Pretty nervous, you know, about this match begins the Rams, of course. But the Vegas expectations aren't quite as bad for the 49ers as some of these other offices. They're really, I mean, they're just half a point below the bills. If you're looking at two elite level offenses playing against elite level defenses, they're really not looking too bad here. Over-unders, 48 and a half points for them, 44 and a half for the bills and the stacks in the game. So it might not be quite as gross as it feels like it could be. I'm just a little bit nervous that it might be gross. San Francisco's had a lot of guys who mispractice time. And I actually think San Francisco's defense could be decent.
So I don't know if this game goes under 48 and a half that wouldn't surprise me. Shock could give us a big game against Detroit. I definitely believe that. So I'm glad to come in a little bit above consensus here, because I think that makes sense. He's somebody I would be going to in DFS. Him and at a hot take about him and Joanne Johnson on that show with Theo. I think really the only other ones I have to talk about here are Bryce Young and Jacobi Brissette. Don't have a ton to add on these quarterbacks below them. The Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones, Kirk Cousins in theory might be a little bit safer than these two. We've seen some pretty bad games from Bryce Young. Brissette, if the Cardinals offense just totally falls apart in this first game with the new coach. If they're not able to move the ball at all, obviously the the floor outcome for Brissette could be pretty bad. But I'm pretty enticed by the ceiling for these two. So what I've got on these two is that they also look pretty good when digging into this
historic analysis in games with the Vegas Over Under above 47 points over the past couple of seasons. They've been surprisingly good in terms of just fantasy points produced. So it's 18.2 per game for Brissette, 17.8 per game for Bryce Young in these games with an Over Under, a 47 and a half or 47 or higher. The Over Under for each of these games is 47 and a half points. So that's could be 13 for Brissette, could be 15 for Bryce Young, Drake Mayas, could be 14, Jordan Loves, could be 16, Dak Prescott, could be 18. They've really been pretty productive in these games. It's just that a lot of their games are not implied to score over any points because Vegas doesn't have very much confidence in these offenses. So when they do, I think that's noteworthy. In Brissette's case, it's not so much that Vegas has a lot of confidence in Arizona's offense as weak. They are only applied for 19 points. I think it's more so that they just think the churches are going to put a ton of points on them. But that works too. We've seen those games work
for Brissette, obviously, where they fall away behind and end up just passing every single play. With the Panthers, it does seem like Vegas actually has some confidence in them. So I think that that's noteworthy. For what it's worth in four games for Briss Young over the past two years, where the over-under has been at 47.5, gosh, at 47 or more points. And Caroline is opponent produced 25 or more points. So we're getting very specific here. This games were Vegas expected a lot of points between the two teams. And Caroline gave up a lot of points. In those games, we've seen Briss average 33 dropbacks per game and 24.7 fantasy points per game. He still has only produced 203 passing yards per game. So we cry in Teterua, Mick Millen and Jaylen Kogor. Maybe we get more than that in this spot. I put the wrong team here. I put Caroline of her Stellis. It's Caroline of her Chicago. It's week one. I have not slept in months.
But we are excited to be here. So I'm going to regroup, take a second break real quick, I'll be right back. I think the meaningful takeaway here is the 33 dropbacks per game in this. And again, it's just four games. But if we see Carolina put the foot of the gas by a little bit more, which could happen, right? I mean, it's kind of a, we need you to prove it year for Briss. They're attached to them for a couple more years. But I think they really do need to see something. And they've got a new play collar here, taking the reins, Brad Edzick. So maybe things are a little bit different. I watch all their preseason reps. And I liked that this is just speculation. But there were a lot of reps where they were spreading the field pretty wide. They also did a lot of under center stuff and run gameplay action type looks that I think could be good for this offense. They've been pretty effective when they've done that. But I think the idea here with Carolina is,
I've heard people say that they might zig where other offenses are zagging and go with more wide looks. And let Bryce just kind of pick and pinpoint his targets, pick deep hits as a part with the wider looks and a number of potentially decent route runners on the team this year. I think moving Ted or Mcmillan into the slot more and more makes a lot of sense. That's something they tried in the preseason a lot too. I really do think Mcmillan is an ascending superstar. So if you missed this this series that I'm rolling out, it's looking at per route data. So yards, targets, first downs, fantasy points, per route run. And looking at historical context for some of the leagues, best wide receivers right now. And Mcmillan I think fits firmly into this ascending superstar tier. I think the world of Jalen Coker. So I think there's a chance that we see, I gave a T-Mac, Ted or Mcmillan hot take on the show with Theo too. I think that that might have
been on his show on Roto Wire. We did two hot takes show. One on the box score, one on Roto Wire. Check out Roto Wire YouTube if you don't know what I'm talking about. They do great stuff over there. I think that there's a chance that Chicago's secondary might be one of the worst in the whole league this year. And we might see these two receivers, two stud receivers. You can laugh at me if you want, but I think Jalen Coker is so good. If these two stud receivers are just freaking open over and over and over. And Carolina's backfield is a little banged up. Offensive line has made some changes. Maybe they don't find quite as much success on the ground. We might, especially if they fall behind, that we might see a lot of drop-back volume in this spot for Bryce Young. So he's, you don't necessarily want to have to go there. But if you're playing in any sort of league format where you're thinking about Bryce Young, I just want you to know that I actually wouldn't be surprised if he outscores Bonaix. I actually see him pretty similarly to Tyler Schuck this week.
And his offense is implied for more points, according to Vegas than New Orleans. So I think he's a viable start. I have him above CJA Stroud and Brasette and, you know, Darnold and Daniel Jones. Got him a QB22, which is about as high as you're ever going to see Bryce in my quarterback rankings. All right, that's all I got for you. Thank you so much for being here. If you have not already, please do like the video that makes a huge difference for us. If you have not subscribed, please do. We're going to be pumping out really good content for you. All your long here on Beyond the Box Corp. I already have a lot of week one stuff. In this hot take show, we did week one and beyond. I looked at like players who could start the season hot. Might be good trade targets or trade candidates like sell high type guys. And if you really have time to stick your teeth into something, I think that this per route series is really, really fun. Digging into the league neighbors, Ted Romack-Millen, got another video coming out soon that's like the Luther burdens and Ladma
Conkeys and Ameca Bukas of the world, Parker Washington's where it's like the mystery box kind of. Like what is this player? How good could they really be and try to find some historical precedents for that? So check that out if you haven't. Leave me a comment. If you have any questions about quarterbacks this week. And then the last thing I've got to leave you with is the Thursdays at 11 Eastern Time each week. I'll be live with my buddy, Dan Schneider, doing a Start Sit show. So if you have Start Sit questions, I sometimes will be able to get to them in the comments of these videos. But I might miss them the best place to get those potentially answered. I think will be the Thursdays at 11 a.m. Eastern Time when Dan and I are talking about flex decisions and stuff like that. Alright, thank you so much. See you in the next video. Peace.
