Once you win, you can't win again for 30 days. We seem to know all the ones that call now. Well, now skateboarder dude had it won in like a year. That's been a year, that's true. All right. We got Brandon. Brandon from four, four, four orange. Brandon, how you doing, buddy? Brandon. I'm doing good. Boys, what's it? But I haven't won in quite a while. How long has it been, Brandon? I, maybe the beginning of the year.
OK. All right. That's good enough. All right. We got a trivia question for you, buddy. If you get it right, you are the man. You get the plug and promote whatever you want. And you get the prize. And it's all good. If you don't get it right, don't worry. Because you've got Angel and Ryan that can help you out. Are you ready, Brandon? I'm ready. All right, man. 175 years ago today in the year 1851, the first issue of this went on sale for two cents a copy. The slogan was all the news that's fed the print. What was it? New York Times? Too easy, right? That was way too easy. Way too easy. Well, sometimes I'm going to. Then you get mad because you throw a softball. I don't have the easiest way to ever ask you. That's common knowledge. OK. If I were to ask Amber Nova that, what would she have said? That's not a fair comparison. Yeah. There are people that don't know certain things. But that was OK. I admit that was a little bit of an easy one. Do it.
I didn't know it'd been around that long. I didn't know it'd been around since 1851. Oh, yeah. Old paper. Yeah. It was around a matter of fact. It was around before Lizzie Borden. There we go. Tying it all in. Are we just doing an 1899 show? Yeah. Everything's going to be based off of the existence of Lizzie Borden. Hey, let's talk the Oregon Trail. Have you died of dysentery calling now? And New York Times still kicking, right? Still still considered. Is this a fake news? Is it beautiful fake news still there? Is it considered as a reputable? Not as much. Not as much anymore? No. I think these publications come in bought and sold. And they're like for cheap. I mean, like newspapers dying. We barely have the Orlando Sentinel here. Go nine. No. I know. Yeah. I haven't seen an Orlando Sentinel in forever. Yeah. There's still online. I like. There used to be a day when I'd wake up in the morning and have to go out to my the car port and get the paper and take it in and start reading that in order to do show prep.
And then I would get it on Saturday and Sunday too. And that was a ritual. That was a thing. Yeah. I mean, the most I use the New York Times for is during the breaks I play Word, Olin connections with the YouTube channel. Yeah. But there's a version of like their games that they charge for and I go never will I pay for you, New York Times, not even a little bit. Yeah. But we need them. We need journalists. We need real-ass journalists out there. But unfortunately, all these companies have been bought up by the billionaires, whether it's New York Times Wall Street Journal, LA Times, all that kind of stuff. And then they, you start hearing a lot about billionaires propaganda. Yeah. The New York Times has been able to avoid that a little bit. A little bit, but barely. Yeah. They're not which paper has the most credibility in your eyes. The Times. The Times. Really still. Yeah. It used to be the Washington Post, but we know who bought that. Basis. Take that over. Oh, Basis has that. Yeah. Who owns the New York Times? It's a like still family owned a little bit, but then it's also a parcel company. Well, Wall Street Journal that still has credibility, right?
Not that one. Wall Street Journal? No, that's the Basis one. Wall Street Journal. Yes. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. So, I don't know, LA Times is actually still pretty good overall. Your land of Sentinel, they're still got solid reporting that they're doing. Do they? Yeah. I haven't seen, I have not seen a physical, I mean, Scott Maxwell is still working hard. He's a nice guy. I like him. He's been a physical paper in forever. It's been a long, long time. Do they still deliver the paper? There's a paper that could deliver it here to I heart, but then people steal it. I don't know. Every now and then I'm able to catch it. Like when I come in in the morning, I'll bring it up here. I don't know who it's for or what it's for. So it must be after I walk inside because I haven't seen it forever. Yeah. No, it's been, I think that whoever was dropping those off, I think they stopped. Yeah, that, because it's been a long time since I've seen that car drive through here. I still love the Sunday paper. Like only because they had like, was it called Parade Magazine or something like that with all the, you know, the celebrity stuff and all that.
I bet you love Parade Magazine. Oh, good. Yeah. It was all, you know, celebrity news and all this kind of stuff I'm more into. And then they, they had the, you know, the cartoons and the funny papers. Yeah. Where do you go for your news now? Oh, I've got to, one, two, three, four. Usually I'm watching on TV. It's NBC. Okay. Normally, NBC news. And I didn't watch ABC news and then I'll flip over to what CBS said. So the three major networks. Yeah. Mine's a long line people now for the most part. Like, like I get up, I throw on some Philip DeFranco from YouTube. I'll watch NBC's nightly news because they're, they put on their last night's broadcast on YouTube, but usually available by 430 in the morning. And I like Tom Yamas. Do you? Yeah. I think I'm moving over to ABC. I think Tom Yamas is a good dude. He seems like a great guy. He's a good guy. He's a good guy. He's a good guy. He's a good guy. He's a good guy. He's a good guy. He's a good guy. Oh, yeah. You haven't, you haven't, you have not designated your favorite Hispanic for the Hispanic. He just did. Well, I just did it. Tom Yamas.
I like him. He's cool. He seemed like a nice guy. He's a worked hard. He started his reporter. Uh, now he's like the main man at NBC. Like that, dude. That's, uh, it's kind of a hot tape. Yeah. That's the best Hispanic of 2020. Was that or a Pedro Pascal? I like him a lot as well. Uh, you know, cause he is, you know, in, in the Fantastic Four, too touchy. Mm. Well, it's all that. But yeah, remember when I really liked Mario Lopez? Yeah. Turns out he wouldn't such a great dude. We told you that. Well known that Mario Lopez is a dude. I didn't know that. And then I did a deep dive. I was like, oh, you sort of get to get off the hook back because we tried to tell you. I know, but you did the thing where with angel, I got to find out for myself. Yeah, angel, Ryan, tell you something. You're like, oh, these guys are ganging up on me. I mean, we had no proof. You know, we did. We did. We gave it up. We have it in. Yeah. Chapter and verse recited. Who wasn't I talked to and maybe we don't have to say, but there was somebody else. Hey, that one was, yeah. It was somebody from a local TV station that worked with him. And he told me a story. I'm like, oh, I mean, and that's the kicker.
So who out of hand dismiss you and I, Ryan. And we'll give him the stories and the facts. But then some other Yahoo. This was just a little with him. And if you say in the same room. I'm talking crazy. Okay. I know who it is. Yeah. Yeah. And he told me like a real personal story. I'm like, oh, man, he is sort of a, and I remember it even then. I was like, Russ, I tried to tell you. Yeah. Well, you know, this guy said it. And so I was talking more than I believe you. No, you were saying rumors and this and that. And this was, but this was like, factual stuff. This was not rumor. This was, these were, these were stories that were based in fact. I thought I had a connection with Mario Lopez because we both wrestled and, uh, and, you know, he seemed like a good guy and everything, but he kind of puts on a, that face. Anyway, he's not my favorite Hispanic anymore. It's Tom Yamas. Okay. And Pedro Pascal. And, and, and, and, and I don't know if I should mark out the Shakira. Shakira is pretty good too. So I, and I know I can only have one. Yeah, you got to pick one. If I have one, I'm going to Tom Yamas.
How about you? Who's your favorite Hispanic? Angel Rivera. Well, I love Angel. Of course, I'm not saying, I'm saying famous, famous person. I'm not saying the room. Famous person that's not in the room. You know what I'm saying? Okay. Um, I'm just going to go home. Yeah. Okay. Famous person who's not in this room. Yeah. I'm not in that room. Yeah. He's not in this room. Me. Okay. Angels, my favorite Hispanic of all. Okay. As far as, uh, celebrities that everybody knows, it is. Okay. I'm going Tom Yamas. He seemed like a good dude. Okay. I got one. Sealing. He've known his Spanner? His name is Sealain. Oh, what does that mean? Yes, Lane. He's not. He's not like, is that a Spanner. Is that now with that name? Sealain. See lane, sea lane. I mean, I mean, a real Hispanic. Okay. Debra Roberts. Oh. She has. Well, she has to come on. Yeah. Easy, bro. There you go.
Why are you just picking people around here? I mean, famous people that everybody knows. But you know, he's your famous people. We are famous people. I don't know if you've met local celebrity Ryan Holmes, but you're gonna break your arm, pat yourself on the back. Other, okay, okay. Other than, you know, people that work for I Heart Media. Yeah. Like if you were thinking Hollywood. Hollywood. Oh, well, I was gonna pick another famous I Heart person. Oh, Ryan Seacrest. He's not his Spanish. His name is Seacrest. What's up with that? He's not his Spanish. No, no. Okay, fine. I guess I go fluffy. Oh, okay. Like, you know, Gabriel Iglesias. He seems like a decent cat all around. It's very funny. Has is doing what I would do if I was rich, which would be by a bunch of VW buses. Yeah. And have a sweet as garage. The angel, can you play this game? If you're Hispanic, can you play? I have a favorite Hispanic. Yeah, initial Doltoro, Javier Bardem,
Evan Mendes and Penelope Cruz. Penelope Cruz. Those are all good. But that's just Hollywood. Then there's music and then there's news. How about like sports stars? Sports, Roberto Clemente. Ooh. Roberto Clemente. Roberto, okay. The way you said it, I couldn't understand. I know. I tricked the hearing aids, I guess. Yeah. I roll that art. And it freaks me out. It's a little panic. Yeah, can I ask him, I only race his question? Yeah. I don't want it to be racist. I don't think it's racist, but like a lot of times white people just don't ask these questions. It's a lot of reasons. And we need to know the answer to them, okay? But you're just, you just want to know. So if I'm talking to a Spanish guy, like a Hispanic dude, and his name is Ramon, right? Like his name is Ramon. Yeah. I want to say his real name. Like, like I'm going to go like standard, I think a lot of people just go Ramon, right? Ramon, yeah. But like, would it be weird if I was just like,
oh, it's cool to see you, Ramon. No. No, if a white guy tries to roll their ours, I think if you can pull it off, it's actually, it's better, right? Yeah, it's, it's, it's, it wouldn't be weird if I was, but if I did that. Ramon, Ramon. Ramon. Ramon. Oh boy. Is that good? That's good. No, I'm just telling you, you're like, you're starting up a nady. I'm just going to sit with the Ramon. I can't roll my ass. I want to do it. I want to say the guys, this happened because the Uber eats, I got Uber eats yesterday. And I clearly know how you would say this man's name properly. And I, and I, I was, you check it out. I did. I chickened out. And I, and I feel bad about it. I was like, I think I can stick the landing. It's always going to be appreciated. So I was, I'm long, you know, any of those kind of names, yeah. I was told that Irish people can't roll their ours because they have big fat tongues. Have you ever heard that before? When you talk about, there's plenty of Irish bands that roll their ours in their songs. They do? Yes. I've never heard that. So like, since you didn't hear it, it doesn't exist. I'm just saying I never heard that. Here we go. I'll put this from the rest of the day
and pulling up all the Irish songs where they roll their ours. Irish songs where they roll their ours? Yes. I don't think so. Why would they roll their ours in a, in a, in a, oh, that's my favorite Hispanic. They're, they're Irish band cover band. Who's that? You dose. What? I don't know what you're saying. It's too in Spanish. I know what dose is. You dose would be, it's cover man. Okay. It's always good when you have to explain it. It hits Friday. You know, it's okay. Why did down for the weekend? We got to take a little break. We got Brendan on the line. He is a winner. We'll talk to him. We'll talk to him when we come back. Don't go anywhere. You're listening to the march. Good morning. Brandon, can you hear me? Hello, hello. Yep. Yep, I can hear you. All right, buddy. Hey, congratulations. You are a winner once again. What did you win last time at the beginning of the year? Sir, I honestly don't remember. You don't remember. I took my take down to do with the kids. I know that. Something with the kids. Well, that's how long you've been listening to the monsters. Since 98. Oh, there you go. That's the last long time. That is a long time. Well, we appreciate that. What do you do for living, Brandon? All right. Now I am interviewing. Also, you're in between jobs. Yes, sir. That's got to be scary, huh? Oh, well, I mean, there's different odd things you can do right now to kind of supplement income that help, but, but yeah, it's, uh, you know, it's getting ready for Halloween. How long have you been out of a job?
About a month. OK, all right. Uh, and was it a shock? Did you quit? Like, what, what happened? I was promised some things that didn't come to fruition when it comes to like a, a working territory and just certain things in the background of the job and, you know, it ended up going to an internal friend, let's say. So it was time to part ways. So you decided it was, it was time. And then, uh, did you try to get another job in your industry? Yeah, that's what I'm looking for generally. Oh, OK. Do you want to say the industry you're in? Oh, I've mostly done sales and marketing my whole life in just about any industry you can think of. OK. So if it's sales and marketing, then you could work pretty much anywhere. Where's your dream job? Where would you really like to be? Not in sales and marketing. I'd be coaching kids sports, but that doesn't really pay. No, it doesn't does it. Yeah. And it's funny. It doesn't. So what, what sports do you like? Anything where I can just talk to people. I'd like to talk to people of all shapes, sizes,
and backgrounds. So, you know, I just, I enjoy talking to people. And if I can help them in the process, then that's a job that would be good for me. Brendan, do you ever think about, uh, radio sales? He used to do it here. I know this Brandon. Did you work here? He did. I had, I had a gentleman named Mark Cainek who hired me. He was a wonderful man. I'm sure you guys know him. Mark Cainek. Yeah, he was awesome. And he, he had a, a big dream for me. And then, uh, right after he hired me, he was like, Hey, bye, I'm retiring. Yeah. Oh, Brandon. And then I had like three different managers very quickly. And you know, I didn't, you know, it, it probably impacted my, uh, performance. We'll say, I understood. Yeah. Well, it's a rough business right here. Sales tough. I don't know y'all did. I talk for a living. I would never be able to do sales. Yeah. You know, like it's, it's, it's, it's, what, what do you think is the hardest part for sales for you? Because you kind of got a natural knack for just talking. For me, it's, it's overcoming, um, just preset stuck in the ground
relationships, right? Like if you go into a business and their vendor, their provider, whatever it is, they got a family member or somebody where they're just, you know, they're interested in what they're doing. And they're just not going to budge no matter what value you bring to the table or, uh, you know, what, what connections or improvements you can make. There's some things that you're just not going to get past without having, you know, that relationship that's already there. Yeah. But there's a lot of rejection too. I mean, like, I've, I've you always just been good with rejection. Uh, well, I was a chubby kid, right? And so, you know, I learned early that you had to move past that. Okay. So what would you like to plug and promote and tell us about Brandon? Uh, what I wanted to promote is something called num, num sauce. It's N U M and you M. Uh, and I came across this stuff at the Daytona Beach free market. At a booth, a guy named Dr. Michael Lloyd. And the reason I called today was specifically to try to get this thing.
It's in so out there because he's just, you know, he just had like me hanging out there. So, and there's a barbecue sauce with his son. Excuse me, not barbecue sauce. It's a grill and a dipping sauce. But the reason it got me so hype about it was because A, it tastes really good and B, it's really health conscious. And I got health issues. So I'm always looking at fat sodium sugar. And if you look at barbecue sauces, they're loaded with it. Even the ones that are supposed to be more healthy, right? Aren't. Yeah. And then there's a full of ingredients with like 27 letter words. And this stuff is like, you know, it's a verbiage. You can read and understand a matter of how smart or not you are. And then it's like, oh, okay. Two grams of sugar. No fat, all this stuff in it tastes good. And it, you know, I even went to the dang shelf one day. I'm like, okay, there is nothing that compares to this. And I went and babbled to him about it. And I'm just some random guy. And he's probably looking at me like I'm a nutcase. I'm like, dude, you got to get this in front of people. No, no, I'm sauce. I convinced him to send it to you guys.
Yeah. I'm looking at the website, Ryan pulled it up and put it up on our YouTube channel. So everybody can see it and it looks very professional. I mean, I grabbed their Instagram page. So Instagram page is awesome. I'd give it a shot. All right. Yeah, dude. He's absolutely right, though, because when I tried to do like keto for a while, that's the first time I ever tried to like look at the ingredients and stuff because you can't have a lot of sugar, you can't have any sugar and all this other stuff, including a lot of different kinds of preservatives. And it made a lot of sauces unedible. Like I just wasn't able to have it, including like a lot of hot sauces. The only one I could find that was even close was actually like, like, Frank's red hot. That's why I still eat Frank's red hot to this day. But this is a, this is pretty cool over all around the numb, numb sauce. Well, yeah, what he has put together online is awesome, especially when what I consider, which is me seeing him at a very, you know, simple booth at the Daytona Beach flea market every weekend. You know, he'll have a booth sometimes. I'll have his son at like a separate part of the flea market with a booth. And he's just out there with a, you know, a cast iron skillet,
grilling up chicken and some vegetables and let's just sample it. So listen, Brendan, it sounds like you're pretty passionate about this guy's product. You absolutely love it. You're a sales person. You're looking for a job. My God, you just sold me. I'm going to go out and purchase a couple bottles. You just sold me. You just sold the, the people going, well, I want to, I want to taste this. So I mean, I mean, the crazier things have happened, right? He's not in public yet. He's not in big grocery stores yet. He's not, there's a lot of room for growth there. Is that a possibility where you kind of, hey, listen, I can be your sales guy and I can, I can get you to that next level. Is that something that you can do? I could see where something like that makes sense, but I, and I, I don't know the guy like that, but I really feel like, I mean, he is, I feel like he's doing everything by himself, probably sends it off to a local company to get it bottled and stuff. And it probably has a high overhead for one person. So I don't know if it's at that point, but I like, I like your line of thought. There you go. Hey, yeah. All right, man, well, listen, we put it up on the YouTube channel.
Everybody's checking it out. People are texting in. They'd like to try it. Some other people have tried it. They say it's great. So very nice, man. Yeah. I like to, I like all their social media stuff. It looks cool. Yeah. For sure. Check it out. It might, it might even be in the fridge right now on your floor. All right. Well, listen, man. Oh, we'll definitely go check it out, buddy. We appreciate it, man. Thank you for listening. As long as you've been listening, thanks for calling the day. We appreciate you have a great weekend. Okay. Thanks for letting me talk, guys. You got it. All right. There you go. There you go. And once again, if you want to give blood today, today's the day to come by here at real radio. It's a 2500 maintenance center parkway. You can donate blood and also our friends from SeaWorld are here. So one blood is here. You donate the blood. It doesn't take that long. I did it last year with MFA Angel and I did it together. Yeah. We were in the same, we were in the same blood mobile and he kept and the lady got mad at me. Yeah, because he wasn't taking it serious. Oh, no. You caught. What did you call her? I was joking around. You were right first to her. I was joking around. No. I was joking around and I should. You took it so bad.
Yeah. And I said, man, I said something like old lady or something like that. And she said, you said, Brian, I didn't know that you I never used that word. I said, old lady. I said, I said, I'm old lady got mad at me. I was like, I was kidding. I'm like, oh, they sent me out. There's old lady. And she goes, old lady. And she got so mad. And she didn't back up from it. I was like, and I told her, I was, you ended up not getting your, your, uh, SeaWorld ticket. No, I gave it. I see. We'll take it to you. Oh, you're, you're, I'm just trying to make it work. You are trying to make it work. I know you to get your soda. I didn't get my soda. Uh, I got my t-shirt. Yeah. Oh, she was talking, she was running you down after you left. She's like, you work with that guy. I was like, nah, I don't know him. You can't even roll with ours. I don't know that something bitch. All right, we're taking a break. More big done fun. When we come back, don't go anywhere. You're listening to the match the morning. So, uh, I've got the official word from, uh, Mr. Bradshaw yesterday tickets come on
sale for the fall monster brew bus next Tuesday. So next Tuesday, we're on the air. I think starting at 10 o'clock, I think that's when they're going to start it. Uh, you can get your tickets for the fall monster brew bus. It always sells out. You want to grab your tickets while you can. It sells out super quick. I mean, we might have to get a second bus. We're working on with one bus right now. We're going to go to run about brewing, which I've never seen before, but I've heard a lot of great things about it. And then we're going to go to port 27, which is in winter haven. It's right on a beautiful lake. It's got a bunch of places to eat. It's got a volleyball. Oh, it's got a band all set up, by the way. Uh, Tyler King and the change will be performing out at port 27. I'm working on having some, uh, a musical act out at run about brewing. Uh, so it's going to be a great time. Other brew bus have you've never made one. This is one to grab for sure. We're going on October the 24th. Tickets going sale next Tuesday. Uh, going to be a great time. When am I forgetting the angel about, uh, about the monster brew bus?
Uh, just make sure you get your tickets when they go on sale. Did I cover all the bases there? Yeah. Uh, the bus ride is fun. It's awesome. Uh, you know, uh, those all monsters will be going. You can hang out with us all day long. It's going to be great. When you get the port 27, uh, there's so much fun, fun stuff to do. Uh, it's going to be great. So you're going to enjoy yourself for sure. Uh, see, which we don't want to go right now. I've got, uh, I've got several different, uh, I think I'll go here. So we're just talking about them, uh, things that, uh, uh, what was it that we said that oh, we said Amber probably would not have known the trivia question. Uh, the news that, uh, the news that was fit to print, uh, the New York times, uh, they've got a list of things that says here that, uh, uh, says Gen Z, but, you know, younger people, uh, common, common knowledge things. Gen Z doesn't know now. Uh, tell me if, uh, if you think how many of these things I thought, uh, Amber Nova was coming in today, but I don't see her. Uh, when Amber Nova know all these things, uh, here's one of the things they say. Gen Z doesn't know. Gen Z. And she's not, I know she's not, uh, but, um, old as hell.
Okay. The first one they said is that this is something that Gen Z, I guess doesn't know that penguins are birds. Apparently, uh, uh, Gen Z thinks that penguins are fish. Have you ever known anyone that's thought a penguin was a fish? I can't say that I do. I know about penguins. So no one don't. Yeah, I've never heard that. I've never, I've never heard that. It's the first thing on this list. Uh, then it also says, uh, the, the Beatles, the Beatles, like the band, the Beatles. The Beatles. You know how it spelled? B-E-A-T, like the music beat. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It smelled like the music, it smelled like the music beat, not like, uh, the bug, the bug. It's a pun in it. It says, uh, Gen Z doesn't know that pineapples grow from plants on the ground, not in trees. They think, I guess, uh, Gen Z thinks that pineapples grow, uh, like, like coconuts do. Did you know that pineapples grow from plants on the ground? Of course I know that. Yeah. Many pineapple farms. I've got pineapple trees at my house. The thing that got me about pineapples is they're not from Hawaii.
I always thought that, uh, for, you know, obvious reasons. This is a very common thing to think, no big deal, but they're actually from South America. I always thought they were from Hawaii as well. Yeah. No, that's the dull company that kind of took farm land over in Hawaii and, uh, and started growing them there. Yeah. So are they, uh, where are they from? South America. South America. South America. South America. So like, uh, Columbia. Columbia. Columbia. Yeah. South American nations. Uh, a lot of Gen Zs, uh, no idea that chicken tenders are a sort of, uh, oh, they, oh, they think a chicken tender is a chicken tenderloin. Well, I mean, like, I didn't know baby carrots were just shaved down carrots. I thought they were like a smaller carrot and I think I found that out like four years ago. So, okay. Those were a lie. So I could see it can be confusing. Uh, it says, uh, these are a common knowledge things that Gen Z doesn't know, uh, um, pickles. They don't know what pickles are. Pickles are? I don't know what a pickle is. Well, I guess they don't know that pickles are cucumbers. I think a pickle is actually grown to be a pickle. They didn't realize that it was a cucumber that has been pickled.
Okay. What version of Gen Z are we asking here? Were they like high on their vape pens and they're like, you just answering questions? I don't think Gen Zs this don't. Uh, okay. I don't either, actually, uh, and I don't like dunking on Gen Z anymore because I've met some really great Gen Z people here recently. So, uh, but I'm just reading this story because it's a sort of comical. Uh, reindeer are, oh, they don't think that, uh, reindeer are real animals. But they are. There is actually a reindeer. Now they don't fly like Santa, you know, they think because it's all part of Santa's, uh, you know, uh, troop, Santa's, uh, you know, uh, group, they think I want to, it's all fake, but reindeer are real. Yeah. Okay. I mean, that's this feels mean. Like, I don't understand what like, who did this survey and why? Uh, and the last thing it says here is that, uh, that ponies are not baby horses. Ponies are their own type of horse. Correct. Baby horse is called a, uh, a full, a full, yeah. Fools all of this Gen Z people.
I think it's just like five random kids. Like I don't know. It's a feel, baby. Who knows about ponies really? Yeah. Well, I gotta tell you what, when you go through, and then this, this probably has happened throughout the, uh, you know, the decades or whatever, but when you go through a lot of news, it is a lot of dunking on Gen Z. It's like, look at how stupid they are. Which, and I told me, like, like, when that, when that happens, I go, well, that's their parents fault. Yeah. Right? Like I, you can't help a kid who wasn't raised correctly. That's on the dumb ass parent. Well, there's a lot of dick on kids because they don't know stuff because they were handed a raw deal. Unfortunately, what we did was we handed them tablets. It turns out that was a terrible idea. All of the science and evidence shows that actually created a cognitive decline. It wasn't as helpful as just giving them a book. And now we're reaping that, uh, stupid experience. We also have to acknowledge that we do, you know, not handling a pandemic well. And then after the pandemic, with that specific generation, not affording them or empowering
them or helping them to get over that. So it's, uh, we gave them the tablets during the pandemic. And there's a lot of tablets before that. But not to that level, Ryan. I, my, my daughter's Gen Z. Um, and so not to that level. But what I'm saying is that there was plenty of people that were, uh, gave them the tablets and then didn't take it away from them or help manage that. They just let that be. And that just, like, I'm talking like, I'm talking like not even schools. I'm talking they were handed like to, because to be left alone, the parents to be left alone, they were handing small children tablets, leaving them with that all day alone. Again, I agree with you. But I would say it's not to the, uh, degree that we are at today. Yeah. With that pandemic happening, that, uh, like a year, but here's a thing. There's still, there's still a lot of things that we don't know. Like, you know, you didn't know about, uh, you like what was to have like one percent milk or two percent milk, right? Like, like we've never thought about it. Yeah. There's certain things that, you know, you just don't think about like, like we know where pineapples grow.
I never really thought about it until I didn't really know to be honest with you until I bought this house and I had a couple of pineapple trays. I'm like, oh, I didn't know they grew on the ground like that. So I don't think it's that crazy. Asked about buildings in various countries all the time. Yeah. Yeah. So, you know, there's all kinds of stuff that people don't really realize. It's just, it's just odd because it does seem like you think like, okay, we're going to give the children the most powerful piece of technology that's ever existed. You're going to be able to have all the information of humanity in this little, this little rectangle we're going to give you. And for some reason, our monkey brains go now pen and paper, baby. What do you mean? Like, like they, they're, they're pulling, they're now pulling out like things like, like the Google had a bunch of their, uh, think pat, not whatever, their version of a laptop is. And it just turns out that we as a human species don't learn well from the huders. Yeah, unless you write it down, if you write it down, you're, you're something about pen to paper that like you'll remember it better. Yeah. That's what I've seen. Yeah. It's, and that's, that's fascinating to me that like our technology has gone way
past where our monkey brain even like can comprehend. Yeah. And then we're, now we're just dealing with the repercussions. I don't think Gen Z is a stupid generation by any means. Like all, all generations dunk on the generation behind them, right? That happens all the time. So that's always going to be a thing. Um, like my, like my nephews are super smart and they, they, they hang out. Now I've met some dumb kids, but there's always dumb kids. There's dumb millennials. There's dumb boomers. There's dumb gen X. Yeah, there's done dumb grownups. Yeah. But I do think like this is the first generation that they like is, you know, just unfortunately scientifically that is not only going to like be financially worse off than the previous generation, but also less educate. Yeah. I guess in this survey, one of the things they were the most surprises that, you know, that Gen Z thought that a ping ones were fish. Apparently a large. I'm, well, I mean, you know, they swam. I see. Some of that smell like fish. If you ever do with the, the, what programming or being exposed to, because I think I remembered learning that with one of the kid shows.
Oh, really? Yeah. Then a ping one was a fish. No, that it wasn't a. It wasn't a fish. No, that's something. I learned that from one of the kids shows just early on. Yeah. I'm like the fact that I thought ping ones were awesome. But that was what I remember. I'm totally picturing the video right now where they break it down and they're, and they're showing how they migrate and they start, they're all this. And I remember the person speaking, doing the voiceover was talking about, you know, a lot of people think that they're fish, but they are not. These are feathers blah, blah, blah. Right. I remember that. What was, what was that really great documentary where they kind of followed one penguin for a whole year and they all, you know, I know what you're talking about. I can't remember the name of that. It was really like, I think maybe it was a Disney thing. What was it? What was it? Was it a Disney or National Geographic? Maybe National Geographic. I remember, and I didn't know that penguins like would all huddle together and stand together and one big old thing for, for, you know, months and months at a time. And like, I didn't know any of that stuff. Neatrollable. No. No. This is, it wasn't, I mean, what was the last documentary?
Was it the last decade or something? No, not happy feet. March of the penguins. March of the penguins. That's it. 100%. That was actually really good. Yeah. I only know a ton about penguins just because like I'm from Florida. Why would I know anything about penguins? But like the mascot for my elementary school was the Lake Orienta penguins. Oh, really? In every class, like kindergarten first grade through fifth grade, you know, like they all were different penguins. And that's your favorite. And fifth grade, you were like the emperor penguins in kindergarten. You were like the rock hoppers. So I learned a lot about penguins very young. And I just loved them now to this day. But like, if you would ask me like had I not done that, I don't know nothing about no penguins. Well, you can learn everything about penguins. If you go to sea world, sea world is out in the parking lot right now. Because we're doing the blood donation.
